Nice market in the neighborhood. Partnering with its ice cream shop on the corner, they provide everything you need with a smile. You'll pay higher prices overall but still competitive enough.

One of the vegan offerings.Hippy sandwich, served hot. $13 Interesting preparation of sweet potato in very thin strands deep fried to crunchy texture. Micro greens and guacamole were great compliments. Chips, had to have some kettle chips. Sandwich took a little while even though there was no line. Nice lunch in Dolores Park and a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Came to this market on a Saturday afternoon to grab sandwiches for a picnic at Mission Dolores. We ordered at the deli, and the sandwiches came out fairly quickly. I got the Lone Mountain, and it was so good! The sandwich was well balanced, and I loved that it was served on focaccia bread. Highly recommend, and I'll definitely be back to try the other sandwiches!

Love the Bi Rite market- it's a bougie upscale market with some really good ice cream! their felt though has really good sandwiches. solid 8-9/10 but I will say that they're a little small relative to the price. still soooo good though!

Adorable bougie grocery store that has a full sandwich menu. It came recommended by friends and I was in the area for their ice cream place anyway. There was a short line even on the Thursday we visited, but I got my sandwich within 20 mins. Lone mountain was awesome - no notes!

Bi-Rite Market on 18th street in San Francisco Mission District has always been a place where you can shop for drinks. I got very familiar with the Bi-Rite Market because three days a week during my Mission High School days and still a few times a month as an adult. Also my childhood friends lived across the street on the block or around the block and also behind Bi-Rite roof which was a good hiding place when playing hide and go seek( read my Bi- Rite Russian Hill review) .So many different waves of new San Francisco residents moving or hanging out around this area and every few years there is a new wave of people trying to redefine what this area means and even giving it different nicknames( most of the names are cringy). It seems that some people claim to be knowledgeable about everything but do not acknowledge that there is a landmark of San Francisco across the street of Dolores Park called " Mission High School" since 1890. After all these years I understand the changes and I always put Bi-Rite as the best place to shop for groceries if you are nearby Dolores Park. Bi- Rite has the best selection of drinks , fruits , and even ice cream by the pint. You can almost grab anything from alcohol, food, and even flowers for the flower child's . What still exist every Summer are the flower child's at Dolores Park enjoying the sun and fog as Dolores Park has always been a fun place ( it was where I played in the sandbox and swings as a kid). Today I like opening a bottle of my favorite alcohol with a Bi- Rite sandwich and laying on the grass enjoying the views of San Francisco skyline. The progression of Dolores Park I do like today as before you would get ticketed for drinking in public at Dolores Park now it's the new normal to bust out a wine bottle of Pinot Noir or six pack of beer from Bi- Rite without being harassed. Get togethers and picnics and the convenience of just going to Bi-Rite makes you appreciate San Francisco even more. All my life Bi- Rite on 18th street in San Francisco has been consistent and available. Bi-Rite and Dolores Park make the perfect and authentic "pair" go across the street in front of Mission High School where the mascot is the "Bear "pull out a blanket or a lawn "chair" and pull out a bottle and let down your "hair "and enjoy Summer of Love and enjoy the good vibes because you can feel in the "air " Grab some chips, berries and a" pear" and a bottle of Pinot Noir for sharing but I don't "share" and I don't "care" because the vibe here is strong on the weekends which is hard to describe and so hard to "compare "it is sort of a mix of a park block party and an unofficial Dolores Park street "fair "

    Telegraph and lone sandwich
    Carmen L.

A cute little deli/market nearby Dolores park. I got the lone sandwich which is highly recommended by yelpers. If you want to get a sandwich here I would recommend that also. I got the telegraph too, but it didn't really hit the mark like the lone. It was pretty dry and in combination with the bread, which was hard- ish, it felt lacking compared to the lone. The service was okay. Nothing spectacular. Having this sandwich at Dolores definitely enhanced the flavor and vibes. So walk the 2 mins and eat it at the park c:

Great Sandwiches! Ordered the Lone Mountain, Bernal Heights, Sutra, and Caprese sandwiches. All of them were delicious! Bi-Rite is one of those places where you can't go wrong with what you order. At the time I ordered, the place was BUSY. All our sandwiches came out within about 15 min give or take though. Good enough for me, and worth the wait. The vibe was very hustle and bustle. People in and out. It's a grocery market, so no seating area. Perfect stop before heading to a nearby park! Would recommend and would go again!

I love Bi-Rite Market. It's a one-stop shop for some of my favorites, from Wise Sons bagels to high-end butter. The customer service is superb.

    Roast beef sandwich

Step 1: order the Lone Mountain sandwich. Step 2: take it with you and walk a block to Dolores Park. Step 3: enjoy a perfect afternoon in the sun eating a damn good sandwich! Seriously though, one of my favorite weekend activities is grabbing an incredible sandwich from the counter and enjoying it in the iconic Dolo Park. The mart is tight and usually packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait for a bit -- but I promise it will be more than worth it. Order a sandwich at the deli counter, pay at the registers in the front, and then wait outside for them to bring your made-to-order sandwich out to you. Easy! The Lone Mountain is by far the best one on the menu -- literally wouldn't change a thing about the sandwich, from the soft focaccia to the tender chicken and the warm sauce, it is perfection. The Telegraph (their version of the roast beef) is a bit dry for my taste, but if you're not a saucy person then you might really enjoy it. The tuna sandwich was clearly high quality (I mean the tuna just melts in your mouth), but it didn't have a lot of flavor. This choice would be good if you're looking for something light and easy on the palate. Overall, be prepared for tight aisles, a decent wait, and the best sandwich in SF (as long as you order the LONE MOUNTAIN)! Go on, get the sandwich and enjoy that afternoon in Dolores. You deserve it!

Great little local market serving the surrounding community. Service is friendly, helpful, and polite. They have a butcher area with fresh cuts of meats and seafood. They also have freshly cooked prepared food. Refrigerated items, freezer area with items. Good selection of fresh vegetables and fruits.

In one incident over a year ago, another customer verbally harassed me and threatened physical harm while I was shopping. Her child was left unattended and was knocking items over, which I reported to security. The guard failed to do his job and did not intervene appropriately. When a supervisor arrived, the situation was handled much more professionally. I should feel safe shopping in my local market. That guard no longer works there, but the experience was upsetting and difficult to move past. Unfortunately, in January 2026, I encountered similar issues with a new security guard. He has repeatedly followed me around the store without cause. Most recently, he approached me unnecessarily, stood uncomfortably close, and spoke to me in an intrusive manner while I was selecting items. His behavior showed poor training and a lack of respect for personal boundaries. These repeated experiences with security staff are negatively affecting the atmosphere at Woodlands. I am a respectful, regular customer and do not want to feel uncomfortable or monitored without cause when shopping. Proper security training and professionalism are essential for customer safety and trust.

Some things are definitely more than you'll pay elsewhere (most of the crackers for example). Pasta and canned goods prices were okay; in general maybe a bit higher than some places but not too much so. For vegetables, they do have some nice deals and stuff you may not find elsewhere (heirloom tomatoes, early girl tomatoes, variety of fruit and different vegetables). I felt like the tomatoes alone were worth the trip (grape tomatoes for cheaper than I saw anywhere else, beautiful heirloom tomatoes at a decent price, and early girl tomatoes which can be hard to find in the winter [I haven't had them yet but they looked fresh]). There aren't a ton of options for the meat counter but they are all quality items and the prices show. For example, the only chicken they had was Mary's chicken. The cheese selection was great especially for a small store and they had some nice meat, olive and peppers (homemade?) options for charcuterie boards. They also sell premade meals. Probably not the place you should buy everything you need but it's a good supplemental option and there were some gems. I guess they have a few locations so I would be back to this one if I'm in the area and would also check out one of the other stores if convenient too.
