Just had one of the best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had. The staff here are so nice wonderful. Friendly and provide amazing warm experience. The sandwiches were loaded with light and perfectly cooked Pastrami. Assembled with care and not rushed. Next time I'm going to try the Chopped Cheese on weekends. I also bought some their fresh ground meat and spicy Italian sausages.

I stopped by to pick up some sandwiches for dinner. I came a little bit before 4pm. Parking was fairly easy (metered parking) and there were a lot of diners sitting outside eating. This mom and pop shop had lots to offer. Besides their sandwiches, there are Mac salads, lots of steaks and dried goods that you can bring home to cook yourself. I ordered the AK's Decadence ($13.99) with sun-dried tomatoes ($1.49 extra) on dutch crunch and the Hot Pastrami ($15.99) on a French roll with sauerkraut (extra $0.75). The total was $34.77 for both sandwiches. It took about 12 minutes for my sandwiches to be ready which was great considering it seemed like they had a flow of online orders as well. I opted to get the Decadence cold because I knew I wasn't going to eat it then and there. Usually sandwiches don't taste that great when you don't eat it immediately after getting it. But, after a I brought it home and toasted both sandwiches in the oven for dinner it still hit the spot. The crunch from the sandwiches and the flavors were on point. The Decadence was loaded with fresh veggies that balanced out the turkey. The sandwich was so big that it was almost too hard to bit down on the sandwich. I opted out of the mayo on the sandwich but I think I may have needed it or something else because it did feel a little on the drier side. As for the Hot Pastrami, my boyfriend seemed to really enjoy it. He said the sauerkraut really made the difference in the balance of the sandwich. The sandwich was loaded with the pastrami, tho smaller than the decadence in size. Overall, we both enjoyed our sandwiches and would stop by again when we are in the area.

This is a tiny shop that includes a butcher display of meat, poultry and seafood, deli counter and sandwich station. Sundry items line shelves. The staff is a family who greets guests, and explains the food, combos, and sandwiches. The hot pastrami sandwich is warmed and toasted. There are choices of breads but choose the softer hogie, It's easier on the roof of your mouth. The meat is warm, rich, and marbled like bacon. Mustard, mayo, tomatoes, onions and lettuce garnish the sandwich and they can be shared. Outdoor seating is available or take it to go.

A delicious sandwich! I wish the bread was a little crispier, but the meat and sauces were fantastic. The highlight of my visit was definitely the service though, the staff were so, so friendly and delightful to talk to.

I have been coming here for years. They have the BEST sandos (super recommend their BLT) and very good meat! Although they are a higher price point than your average super market, everything is fresh and of much higher quality! Be it salmon, red meat or even the chicken. You can taste the difference! They also have daily soups and some daily specials. The staff is super welcoming and helpful. If you are not sure about something, just ask them! Note: They get pretty busy at lunch time, so if you walk in and see sort of a line, but not really, ask around, everyone might be just waiting for their sandos and not actually "in line".

KPIX did an interview with the owners of AK Meats for The Great SF Power Outage of 2025 last week. I came by to show them some support. My sandwich, a AK's combo $14 was ready in about 10 minutes. It was sad to see them suffer through that. It is a good reminder for us to be all ready for the next earthquake or PGE outage. My sandwich tasted great as always.

I got the Hot Pastrami Sandwich w Mustard & Mayo. It was assembled and toasted quickly after ordering. As for the sandwich itself, the crunchy exterior of the Dutch Crunch bread complements the thin stacked layers of Pastrami. Also the swiss cheese, along with the spiciness of the mustard brightens the sandwich and doesn't let you get bored with the flavor. The warmth of the toasted sandwich is great against the windy weather. And the portion size is large enough to be two meals. I'm satisfied that this was my first bite after a day of hiking.

The place wasn't super crowded so I didn't have to wait too long. It was a small store with nice selection of artisan items that go along with meat. It had a warm dim light ambiance that I liked. Loved the outdoor seating - got good amount of sun while eating my sando! I'll have to come here again. They have a huge selection of fresh meats cut to order. Looked too expensive for my budget. Loved the pastrami! I got my pastrami with all the stuff - onions, peperoncini, and cheese. The bread was crispy and hot as was the stuff inside. This was so fresh and I can't believe that this place is so close to the house.

Hands down the best hot pastrami sandwich I've ever had. It's worth a trip out to the avenues. I got mine fully loaded with pickles, onions and peppers. The added vegetables were chopped which gave you some in every bite.

All I have heard is that the 25th/Clement Market owners have taken over the shop. They used to run it years go before Amy. I am worried about her too!

I just gave it 5 stars becuse everybody else has and I see no need to bring down the rating.) On the way back to our car from TJ Cafe, i noticed, through the window, that the wall of bottles was actually topped by a big sign saying non-alcholic! Having been a member of a non-drinking community since 1962, I was fascinated to see such display and dropped in to check it out We spent some 15 minutes with Josh, an ex-bar tender, explaining his philosophy on the social need for community life withoug depending on alcohol (See his Youtube channel: "Josh the non-Alcoholic" for more on this). Josh gave my wife a free cup of coffee since TJ Cafe down the road had no had free refills, and we entered a draw to win a bottle of non-Alcoholic French wine. Josh surprised us by telling us that the French wine industry is going big on non-alcoholic wines. I bought a can of Vanua Bliss - a Mango flavoured Kava drink - vastly different from the Kava served to me during my 3 years stay on Tanna, New Hebrides (1977 to 1980) which was made by youth chewing the kava in their mouths, spitting it out on to a coconut sheath, then pouring water into it and squeezing it into a half shell of a coconut and cerimoniously handing it to you under the shade of a huge Nambunga tree as the twilight deepened! Such are memories made of. While Kava is not alcoholic, it does have some muscle relaxant properties and give a weird buzz of the tongue. I wish him well in his endeavour to allow the teetotaler community to enjoy the social aspects of drinks with their meals, without worring about the alcohol destroying our brain cell and livers!

And no free refills on the coffee? No doubt, if quick in and out food is your need, this place will suffice, but for a nice beach front atmosphere in a comfortable space with good attentive service on a Sunday morning, look elsewhere. But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.
