Outstanding service and food. Everything I ordered was wonderful. The salad was fresh and crunchy, the yukhwe was also fresh and the sauces were delicious the texture was nice and worth it, dollop was one of the best things Ive ever ate it was creamy and flavorful and I look forward to getting it again and the bossom was tender and the veggies went perfectly. I also got the bread pudding which was sweet and warm loved the ice cream on top. The service was out of this world everyone was super friendly gave detailed explanations of the items and I even recieved a dessert and drink and I was very impressed. I have had service that wonderful in so long it was a wonderful experience. I understand the hype and well deserved.

A most excellent dining experience from service, the ambiance and food with a great price point. The DIY scallop gimbap was extremely fresh. The Yook-Hwe was the star of the dinner show for me it was well balanced with quality ingredients. We ordered the soft shell crab which I never had and it was perfectly fried. The bread pudding was moist and not heavy at all adding an amazing finish to the meal. Will be back to try more menu items.

Really really cute and simple interior. All the workers were consistently hospitable. The egg rice is really yummy. I love how they added a variety of textured crispies so that you get a very satisfying chew. The crab noodle looks amazing, but I do think it had too heavy of a seafood flavor. I wish there were other strong notes to balance it out. The complementary kimchi is really spicy as well--but really good!

Absolutely loved the food and service here. My friend and I have a multitude of allergies (shellfish and nuts) and the server and kitchen were very thorough and safe about it. There was only a limited number of dishes we could eat but they were delicious. The lotus salad was flavorful and very fresh. It may have been a bit overdressed but I loved it. The duck bulgogi was so delicious. Never had duck bulgogi and I think it's my new favorite bulgogi. It was cooked very well and was super flavorful. The ginger bingsoo was also super delicious and not too sweet. Would definitely recommend this Korean restaurant and even with the limited menu due to allergies I would definitely return. They do honor the 90 minutes dining reservation and did get kicked out because the next table was here. Not a huge deal but possibly could feel rushed.

Everything was so great! Walking in, it's a bit of a small space and fills up pretty quickly. Service is lovely, they explain everything and any specials and get everything out super fast. Scallops were so fresh, apple kimchi was delicious. The Dolsot Al-Bap was so yummy, creamy and flavorful. They mix it table side so it's very fresh. Def worth it. Also some of the best bosam ever, very tender and flavorful! Would def come back!

The atmosphere is so homey and felt like everyone was just casually chatting over a nice meal. We started with the scallop diy gimbap which was so fresh and the perfect appetizer to share. My favorite dish of the night was the dolsot al bap - maybe one of my favorite dishes of the year. So savory and creamy with so much texture without being overpowering. My least favorite (but still good) was the crab bibim myeon just because it didn't stand out to me and was a tad watery for my preference. For dessert we got the ginger caramel bingsoo which is pretty ginger heavy and more on the savory side. The service is also excellent and the workers really make you feel at home. Highly recommend!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. I love their unique interpretation of Korean food. I've been here multiple times, and every dish is a big hit! The Lotus Root Salad was surprisingly great! It was refreshing and flavorful. The Pork Shoulder was super tender, and the Mackerel Gimbab was delicious, and I love how they torture for you tableside. You really can't go wrong with anything here. The atmosphere inside feels authentically Korean and retro, and the service is great. This is a must-try spot!

We had a reservation and the restaurant was busy on a Sunday night. The restaurant is small and the tables are small and very close together. The food was good but it was hard to fit all of the food on the table. We got the mak-hwe, yook-hwe, crab bibim-myeon, and the duck bulgogi. The duck bulgogi was my favorite of the items.

Service: 4.6/5 Food: 4.4/5 Price: $30-$50 an interesting juxtaposition--the setting is super casual, while the food is more elevated. expensive for the portion size + they try to make up for it with premium ingredients. service is super quick--we ordered + dined in less than 1 hour. *what I recommend What I Ordered: - Complimentary Kimchi: unique, not very fermented, spicy - Scallop DIY Gimbap: fresh scallop, underwhelming flavor - Dolsot Al-Bap: super unique, a great comfort dish - Crispy Fried Crab*: wow, SO crispy, the only soft shell crab i've enjoyed

I had a delivery order of Set D from this excellent Korean restaurant. I chose Soy Braised Lotus Root Salad, Fried Shrimp, Duck Bulgogi, Beef Su-Yook and an add-on of Yukhwe Bibimbop. It came with rice and lettuce salad. The lettuce salad had dressing that was the similar to kimchi marinade...very interesting. The standout dish was the fried shrimp, which came with a delicious dipping sauce that reminded me of an old Szechuan "mayonnaise shrimp" dish that I haven't seen in a long time...really excellent. The duck dish was very flavorful, and the lotus root salad was a big hit, too. The beef soup dish, filled with lots of soft tasty stew meat was mostly enjoyed the next day. This was a great dinner, that I thoroughly enjoyed. Packing was great. Delivery was fast. Highly recommended.

Kimchi: the kimchi is provided for free; it was super unique and one of the best kimchis I've ever had. It wasn't super strong with the spice/sauce and the cabbage was quite fresh. 5/5 Scallop diy gimbap: this was fantastic. Each scallop was super fresh and flavorful (even individually!) and I liked how they were cut thinly so there were more pieces of scallops to use for the handrolls. The handroll ingredients themselves were nothing super special but they all perfectly complemented the scallops. 5/5 Dolsot al bap: this was the mvp of an absolutely delightful experience. The rice, cream, roe, uni, and whatever else was in that bowl create for one of the most legendary savory experiences I've ever had. If you come here and don't get this, idk what you're doing. 5/5 Staff were super friendly in giving recommendations and were quite attentive. Ambience was pretty standard for a busy Korean restaurant in nyc. 5/5

Absolutely delicious and cozy Korean place in East Village with an emphasis on seafood and more Busan-style cuisine. Found their focus super unique! The flavors were authentic but hit the spot for real. We had the scallop ssam (amazing with the uni add-on) and the uni cream bibimbap (served in a stone pot so that allows the crispy rice to form, super peak), plus the fried eel (so crispy!). The star of the night was the EXQUISITE bingsoo: authentic flavors with a touch of elevation. Servers were so courteous in explaining everything and making sure we were comfortable. Do make a reservation as walk-ins are tough :)

Yum! Every dish we ordered was delicious. Well flavored. And comfort Korean food. It was a rainy day when we stopped by, so the pork soup hit the spot! As did the uni hot stone bibimbap and the pork shoulder steak. So good!! Perfectly paired with soju. ;)

But don't let the basement level dissuade you; they really turn their location into a strength. There's a covered "outdoor" section with lots of natural light, and the inside is spacious and modern, with a semi-open kitchen that makes it feel like you're in a place twice its size. The tapas we tried were great. Patatas bravas were crispy on the outside, with a fluffy inside, and maybe a touch too much salt. The hamachi crudo was excellent, with a unique coconut and mango sauce that gave it a touch of sweet to go with the zest. And the pulpo was great, the octopus was well prepared and the sauce was hearty without dominating the taste. The half chicken was the most memorable dish; our server recommended it, and it's clear why. It was unbelievably juicy and tender, with plenty of lemon flavor in every bite. Lots of meat, don't expect a small plate like the other menu items! All in all a good experience in a nice atmosphere, definitely staying on the list for tapas in the future.

To find Debajo you have to find the staircase leading down as this is below ground level - hence the name. MUST GET the patatas bravas - just enough to share between three people but might want to get two orders if your party is more than three. DO NOT GET the queso - it's literally a couple thin slices of cheese, a tiny bowl of almonds, and some tomato mixture. You can add bread for like $7 on top of the original $16 price - actually ridiculous for what you get. The roasted duck breast was flavorful and tender, and the bavette steak was even better. Really great to share as well since they're cut up already. Good vibes in Debajo - would definitely come back again. It was clean and very chic.

I ordered two tapas: Croquetas de Jamon Serrano (Ham Croquettes) and the Albondigas (Meatballs). The croquettes were nicely presented, I enjoyed the sauces that adorned each croquette, they had a slightly crunchy outer layer, and the serving was four. The meatballs were amazing. Each ball was flavorful, the serving was EIGHT!, and the accompanying sauce was succulent and was enough to fill every piece of bread. For dessert, I had the EZ Flan. This Flan was LARGE enough to share, thick, and the sweet syrup at the bottom of the plate was delicious. The final item was a Cafe con Leche (Coffee with milk).
