Overall enjoyed our visit. The only item we didn't love was the Baby Octopus Kimbap, feel like the octopus is lost and just regular rice roll. Soy Scallop Gim Rice was very good, they said it's basically best seller. Scallop was fresh and Gim Rice (seaweed rice?) adds some fun in the rice, YUM. Clam Soup - giant clam, soup is very clean with little spicy kick. Jokbal Platter - very good, get your collagen in! Would recommend!

Came here for a dinner date and it was great! First, the atmosphere was lively and full of young 20-30s. There are two floors so plenty of seating, but we still made a reservation anyway. The three dishes we got were all very delicious. The rose tteokbokki was the best one I've had and the cheese fit in well with the sauce. The scallop rice had a sesame soy taste, and it was more refreshing and light. The marinated crabs were a bit spicy but also good. I will say, it does get a bit messy having to put gloves on to squeeze the crab and mix in, but worth it. As we looked around, we noticed these three dishes were very popular at other tables too. Overall, would definitely go again!!

Amazing food and amazing drinks! I recommend the banana cream shaved ice, the Rice Cake drink, and the cuttlefish! Beautiful building and amazing service.

From the same hospitality group as popular Ktown classics like Take31, Her Name is Han, and Cho Dang Gol; Seoul Salon is a super vibey, snazzy bar-restaurant serving up unique dishes - not your typical Pocha fare. Would highly recommend the Soy Scallop Gim Rice - it's super fresh and savory, we almost wanted to order another bowl! The portions are relatively small - would say it's perfect for sharing amongst 2-3 people but would recommend ordering more and trying different dishes if coming with a bigger group.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. Servers are very attentive but not overbearing. Not a super vegetarian-friendly menu. The seafood dishes are the best, especially the scallops. Portions are a bit small for their pricing though.

We made reservations to try the yellow tail special for 75 dollar for 2 people and we were not disappointed! Ambience reminds me of more clubbing or bar restaurants vibe down stairs and dining up stairs. Very hip and young vibe. We received it on the top floor and given some menus. Our table was wobbly which the hostess helped us fix, which was really nice of them. We ended up ordering the yellowtail special and a beer. The yellowtail special included a salad, mushroom porridge, cucumber, salad, and some sauce sauces. The sauces are amazing and the yellow towel is delicious. I absolutely loved the porridge that would get more of that itself. All the items included in the really complete the meal. For two people this is a good amount unless you eat a lot. For the boyfriend and I it was a perfect amount and we also planned on hopping to another bar or Tapa place after for more drinks. The in house rice beer that they had was also very refreshing and I recommend trying it if you like lighter beer. My only grape is, I wish they had ice underneath the yellow tail. I like my sashimi a bit colder. We left very satisfied and I and very interested in coming back to try other items on the menu.

My friends and I have needed a spot for girls night and scored a reservation for Seoul Salon. This place was absolutely packed for a Thursday night, so definitely grab a reservation before you go. We were seated in a smaller room allowing for a more intimate dining experience. We ordered their limited time yellowtail platter, grilled tteokgalbi, rose tteokbokki with gimmari, Seoul salon pasta, and jokbal platter. The yellowtail platter came with a seasonal porridge, cuttlefish, whelk salad, sauces, aged kimchi, and gim. While it's recommended for 2, it easily fed the three of us. Their rose tteokbokki was really flavorful but we enjoyed it even more after it had cooled down and the flavors seeped in more. Their seoul salon pasta was the perfect amount of umami and one of our favorite bites of the night! The jokbal platter was MASSIVE. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Needless to say, this is the place to go for good food and drinks with friends! We will be back! Check out my foodsta @chiuventure for a closer look and more details of my dining experience here as well as other establishments in NYC and around the world!

Seoul Salon feels like our second home so much that we've made it our weekly date night spot. The food is delicious with a great spread of Korean pub fare, but the drinks are what really set this place apart. The cocktail menu is a hidden gem with drinks inspired by different regions of Korea. The Bacchus Bomb is our go-to pick me up, built around an energy drink that gives it a fun little kick, and the Leatherpresso Factory is a slightly sweeter take on an espresso martini that is incredibly well balanced. Both are must orders. Beyond the specialty cocktails, the bartenders are fantastic at classics too and, if nothing on the menu is calling you, they'll happily make you something based on what you're in the mood for. On the food side, the fried chicken never disappoints, the grilled tteokgalbi and mala pork sliders are an absolute must, and the rose tteokbokki with gimmari is something we find ourselves craving between visits. We usually sit at the bar but the dining room is a great time too. Anytime friends visit us in the city, this is where we bring them. It works for everyone and has never once let us down. More than anything though, the staff genuinely makes you feel taken care of. That's what keeps us coming back every single week!

Good bar food and drinks are reasonable price. Tteokbokki is solid, the chicken was ok could have more flavors. The place has a great vibe! And seating doesn't seem too difficult either.

Seoul salon is a lovely modern Korean restaurant that stands out for its beautiful presentation. You can truly see the extra flair and thoughtfulness added to every dish, making the meal a visual treat. Food 4/5 Service 4.5/5 Ambiance 4.5/5 The Highlights: Scallops (4.25/5): This dish was great. The tender scallops worked really well with the seasoned rice, and the addition of the runny egg yolk tied everything together perfectly. Beef Tartare (4.25/5): Very refreshing and clean tasting. I especially enjoyed the subtle gochujang kick that gave it a nice layer of heat without being overpowering. Minor Misses: Clams (3.75/5): These were the largest, juiciest clams I've ever had, and they were cooked just right. However, I found them to be too fishy for my taste Rose Tteokbokki (3.75/5): While the flavor was good, it had a harder, chewier texture than expected. For texture preference, I still lean toward the softer chew but also not too soft I get at places like 'Dduk Dabang'

    Drinks were amazing!

I loved the drinks here and the soy scallop over rice! Would come back for those. I thought the marinated crabs were just okay but I'd like to try the fried chicken next time. I sat upstairs and it was so loud. Not a great place for a date but a fun place for a friend hang out. Service was amazing and attentive. Great people here!

Update: Sat in the bar seats this time and wow their cocktails really hit the spot!!!! - Kaetnip gin and tonic: 1000/10 (loveeee this version of a classic gin and tonic!! Super refreshing and fragrant! TBH some of the best gin and tonic I've had in a while) - Leatherpresso factory: 9/10 (very strong espresso martini with whisky! Slightly sweet.)

We got seats upstairs because it was a full house for a Monday night (President's day). My friends and I ordered the yellowtail platter. The yellowtail itself was fresh and melted in your mouth. I would say the porridge was the only item that tasted meh because the rice texture wasn't creamy and velvety. Sadly the server was rude. He kept asking us if we wanted our check.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
