First and foremost, shout out to Bobby for his outstanding hospitality during my best friend's birthday brunch last weekend. It was my very first time visiting Ariete after seeing it hyped up on the Yelp Instagram story so much these last few months of the year - and boy, was it worth the hype. Ariete is a Cuban fusion restaurant, so a lot of the food is Cuban oriented. The menu isn't huge but the dishes definitely are. Since my group and ai were there for brunch, we ordered the Cubana Madame which is kind of like the French Croque Monsieur but better. We also ordered the Guava Pancakes, Frita Benedict and Sam's Biscuits. Sooooo delicious! Literally everything was as good as you can imagine it to be. And the overall cost isn't bad at all either! I was expecting it to be more expensive, honestly. The ambiance is a little fancier than casual but it's definitely perfect for a ladies night out or for brunch itself. We made a reservation for a party of 6 to celebrate our wedding day. They were accommodating and allowed us to pick between indoor and outdoor dining. The menu selection is a great combination of Latin flavors and traditional American cuisine, and the presentation of each dish definitely lives up to the Michelin star designation. We ordered the duck for two, and they came by the table to prepare it with a duck press. It was definitely a fun bit of theatre. The sleeper hits were the yuca (which was prepared in a totally different way from the yuca I've eaten in the past) and the cigar dessert (which was served in a cigar box that we were dying to take home!). Outstanding restaurant - pretty far for me, but worth the trip. I'd read about a 3rd birthday party they were having (with a price-fixe menu) and knew I was long overdue to I pay a visit. The room is pretty dark - they call that "ambiance" - but I almost had to pull the geriatric move of using my phone flashlight to follow the menu (but resisted). Our server Henry was about as helpful and enthusiastic as could be. He even illuminated some of my food porn shots. We opted (of course) for the event menu, and the hits started coming soon after. Bone marrow buttered OYSTERS were fantastic, and must be "a thing" because I'd had them recently at Stiltsville (where I think they were even better). The "beet and castlefranco" was an excellent veg, though I couldn't tell you what a "castlefranco" is. The final app was the headcheese croquettas - I love these generally, but the texture of the head cheese wasn't my favorite (I'll stick with the "de jamon" variety given the choice). Next we had the savory and delicious FRITA CUBANA which was heaven on a little bun. So could you could inhale a lot of these and have no room for dinner. We ordered the supplemental FOIE GRAS course (a little bummed that the press for the event said it was $10, when in fact it was $15), but this dish deserves its own paragraph: inspired, delicious, ethereal, [insert your own accolade]... it is just a must-have and already in the running for "best bite" of 2019 even though it's just January. The mains kept the party in my mouth rolling: PASTRAMI STYLE SHORT RIB was excellent, and another "must". The SNAPPER MILANESE was also excellent, very crispy crust on this, but the bitter escarole was a little overwhelming (I tasted it long after dessert). We finished with the FLAN (not usually something I like, but this one was creamy like the bottom of a creme brûlée and was fantastic with the earthy mushroom notes - yes, it really has mushroom!). Also the TRES LECHES, here made with goat milk - another huge YUM!! My stomach was exhausted at the end, but it was a great ride. Another small disappointment was that we didn't get the advertised piece of public birthday cake (which would have just come home in a bag for my kids anyway), but even still this was 5-stars all the way - See you on birthday #4! Visited Ariete for brunch on a Sunday. The wait wasn't too long. The service could've been better. We waited over 10 minutes after sitting down to flag someone down to come over. It was very slow for the entire visit. My husband had the hash: HOUSE MADE BACON, SUNNY SIDE UP EGGS, HUANCAINA, QUESO FRESCO, SCALLION. It was good but the house bacon was mostly fat. I guess I'm just not used to seeing it like that. I had the frita: CHORIZO PATTIES, SPICY KETCHUP, PAPITAS, POTATO, BREAD. This was fantastic. It was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Ariete is a Grove institution at this point, and it deserves its placement on many Best of Miami lists that I've seen (Eater, Time Out, etc.) We love coming here for the weekday happy hour from 5-7. The Old Fashioneds they make are absolute stunners ($10), and the tempranillo on the menu right now is also a keeper. The happy hour food menu is short and sweet. Here's a guaranteed three-step formula for life satisfaction: Order a chug burger ($18) Order a Frita ($6) Profit The burger comes with delicious salty, crispy, thick-cut fries and a very unique dipping sauce. It's kind of like an aioli and kind of like a cole slaw because it has some shredded veg that adds thickness and texture. The burger itself is a very well made, elevated fast food-style burger with shredded iceberg and some melted American cheese, like a fancy Double Quarter Pounder or Big Mac (very reminiscent of the burger at Over/Under downtown). The Frita is a standout pick. The chorizo adds so much flavor to the patty, and the crispy straws make this a burger and fries all rolled into one. read more

Aríete has been on my bookmark list for quite a while and I was excited to finally be able to come and try. I was very excited to see this restaurant and its culinary fusion proposal. With that said, I was a bit disappointed with the food-- it did not live up to the hype. Here is the breakdown: Decor/ ambiance: pro Definitely enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. Has indoor and outdoor option and with a nice background music. It definitely highlights the casual chic coconut grove vibe. Service: pro It was a bit slow but the team did a good job. Starting with the host team-- very friendly. From the service team, enjoyed the attention to details and ensuring that the courses were presented on a manner that made sense and the order that the food was coming in order to enhance the palette experience. They have a daily Happy Hour at the bar, that can't be beat. Bone Marrow Butter Oysters - these chargrilled delights are available for just $1 on happy hour. I can seriously eat about 30 of these and not bat an eye. Chug Burger - An upscale, culinary twist on the Big Mac. This doesn't do it justice, but know that this is one of the best burgers in Miami. The cocktails are excellent as well. From properly made old fashioned to experimental drinks like their guava daiquiri (made with locally sourced guava sauce), they have something for everyone. They also have a great selection of craft beers from all over Florida. Completely blown away by this restaurant! It's the perfect spot for a date night, a girls night dinner, or basically just a really great meal. Tucked away in the grove, we came in to try their Miami Spice menu. Expecting three courses, we were surprised that it was more like 7 or 8! The apps are all small plates and ALL of them come out, in small portions, to try them out. You choose your entree, and dessert is the same as apps! We left completely stuffed! Now, I will admit, there was a small snafu with the order of our dishes. Our entrees came out before all our apps did so we ended up eating the ceviche and the croquetas in tandem with our main dishes and they got a little cold... but let me tell you - the staff was so apologetic and generous that it did not matter or affect our evening in any kind of negative way. They brought out complimentary cocktails and additional wines in between courses, which was so kind and not expected. Nothing but A+ service here! The food was marvelous. The dishes were well thought out, and the flavors were scrumptious. The pate was a definite favorite, but let me tell you, the STRACCIATELLA is the things dreams are MADE OF!!! This cheesy goodness is paired with mango and slivered almonds and melts in your mouth in a combination of salty sweet creamy goodness. I am coming back no matter what, but let it be known that this is my GO-TO order here on out! I promise you won't regret it! Four of us had reservations. All four of us was a first time diner at a Michelin star restaurant but also at Ariete. The drink selection was a bit lighter than we expected and drink service was a bit slow. We ordered three appetizers at the table. The grilled oysters and "the farmer". Both were excellent choices. For the entrées. One person had the venison one person had the grilled pork chops, the pastrami style short rib. Well, all were excellent and cooked to perfection tasted phenomenal. The table next to us got the "canarda la presse for two" our entire table had dish ordering envy. That's just a word to the wise overall and excellent restaurant highly recommend. read more

Thank You Lisa, for putting together an awesome "Last Supper" Miami Spice brunch at this hidden gem in the Grove. I'd seen pictures from other friends and heard about Ariete, but had not yhe pleasure to attend until this morning. I didn't partake in any boozy brunching today (gym and all) but some of the cocktails my tablemates had looked pretty good. The unsweetened black tea I had was really refreshing and water service was timely; my glass was never empty. Our waiter was very pleasant, and balanced attention with letting us chat. The manager also sent us off with best wishes. Wonderful service! I started out with their biscuits. The sazon completa (allspice) baked into the crust gave these warm pieces of deliciousness a slightly spicy note that was balanced nicely by the banana jam and sweet honey butter. Side note, I would have purchased more of that jam to enjoy with bread at home. I couldn't finish my main, my breakfast burrito, because it was too generous a portion. Picture a tasty layer of scrambled eggs, ham, and potato slices packed into a lightly crispy tortilla. Add plenty of fries and ketchup, and not only did I enjoy a delicious (half) brunch but can continue it tomorrow at home. Part of getting some to go was to leave room for their french toast sticks, dipped in condensed milk and maple syrup. Yes, they were rich and tasty! The flan a few friends had looked just as tasty, as did Lisa's guava topped pancake. I have seen and heard so much about Ariete, and finally, one of my friends had a brunch event scheduled here last weekend for Miami Spice which I jumped in with both feet. I have read the reviews and heard so many great comments about Ariete. Ariete is not a large restaurant, but a small, quaint, airy and cheery place in which you enter through the outdoor, garden style patio through a white gate, very old Miami and real lush. The outdoor patio would have been a nice place to dine if the weather was a little cooler. Well, when we walked inside, it had a great open feel to it as well and that old Miami feeling stayed with me. Light, white brick, neutral colors, a very small open bar to sit at, and small open kitchen. Both,situated in the dining room was all part of the experience of dining inside; all really a PART of the dining room. The Miami Spice menu was so well put together with diversity, enough so, it was hard to choose what to order and everything everyone else ordered, I'd wish I had!!! They offered 3 small plates, 4 large plates and 3 deserts and seriously, this was going to be a tough decision, and thankfully we all ordered something different so we cold see and taste most of them. There were 6 of us and they sat us in a nice location in front of the kitchen and everything was so open we could see the whole experience there. We ordered mimosas to start and checked out the menu. Small Plates: My wife ordered sam's biscuits; soft, homemade biscuits served with their house jam which was a banana flavored jam and my favorite of flavors. These biscuits melted in my mouth. I had their smoked head cheese croquettes. Great choice, served with 2 incredible croquettes, crunchy on the outside and melt in your mouth cheese. I could of done more than 2 of these while licking the banana jam off my fingers. I was good having one of those biscuits with it, and the jam was addicting. Large Plates: I was told that the Frita Benedict was one of their best brunch dishes, so I jumped all over it. Their was a lot going on there and a bunch of flavors, all put on top of their delicious biscuits , with chorizo served with the poached eggs, hollandaise, and crunchy onions to top it off. Yes, this was a great choice. My wife ordered a fluffy egg white omelet with nice chunks of avocado on the side with a crispy salad. Ariete made the egg white omelette look much better than an "egg white Omelette" if you get that. Deserts: All 3 deserts were ordered and by the time I got my coffee crumble Flan, I swore that I am coming back to try both of the other choices. The Flan was so incredible. Like a coffee cake topped Flan. The French Toast sticks and the pancake came out and I just wish I had the room to order those as well. The Pancake was crazy; I tasted it. Guava and cream cheese AND the crumble on top, and it took up the whole plate. Wow, next time. Tasting and seeing what we ordered and looking at the full brunch menu, it is apparent that Ariete does it better, more creative than any brunch I've had. There is no way you could experience the same anywhere else. I was so impressed with the location, hidden in a nice lush neighborhood in Coconut Grove, the laid back relaxing service and garden type atmosphere. Top that off with such great flavors and creativeness that was put into every day dishes, it turned into a different dish of it's own. I really can't wait to come back for dinner. Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience in our first visit to this place. The restaurant is charming, with a very nice and welcoming outdoor sitting area, service was good, but the quality of the food was poor. We tried a few different items from their Brunch menu (which is extremely limited, and they do not have any flexibility to make any changes or add ingredients that will be available later in the day from their regular menu) and all of them missed the mark. The biscuits were pastie, the chorizo that comes with the Fritta Benedict hardly had any taste, the hollandaise sauce tasted just like mayo, the shrimp ceviche was excessively spicy hot which completely takes away from the taste of the ceviche, and the pulled pork with grits was just average. Overall, it was a bad first impression and not a place I would recommend. There are lots of other places with great cuisine. read more

Torn between three and four stars (because of that dang burger)... I recently returned to Ariete after visiting once around the time it first opened. I came with two others for Miami Spice since the menu looked so tasty. Overall, the food hit the mark, but the rest of the experience fell short. It was a Saturday night and I made a reservation online beforehand. Even so, our table wasn't going to be ready for at least 20 minutes upon arrival, so we opted to sit outside instead since there were a few tables open. It took quite awhile for anyone to welcome us or take a drink order. Once we finally were able to order both food and a bottle of wine, it took forever for the bottle to actually arrive. These sort of delays were persistent throughout the night. Our server was super inattentive, but I think this was also just due to the fact she had the entire outdoor section to keep track of which was way too much. Hopefully this short staffing isn't the norm... To eat, I started with the bone marrow, then had the acclaimed Chug burger and ended with the cookie. Honestly, I really enjoyed every bite... They don't skimp on portions for Miami Spice. The burger was just as good as everyone says it was. I practically had to be rolled out of the restaurant afterwards! A meal out is much more than just the food. At Ariete, the service downfalls made the overall experience just kind of meh. I didn't leave eager to come back soon but I hear their happy hour is amazing and I'm always down for that! read more

Great restaurant for a chill dinner but it's not a restaurant for special occasion and it is not a restaurant for an amazing culinary journey. We had a group of 3 and shared everything so tried to order most of the items on the menu. We did not do pre fix and ordered a la crate from the menu options. Service was friendly and efficient. The interior design is very casual and is not at the level of fine dining/special occasion. Food was good and used high quality ingredients. The simpler items like oysters (with a twist: topped with bone marrow and uni) were better and the more complex dishes is were it started lacking. overall not a bad experience but not one of the best of Miami, which I was expecting due to recent hype and Michelin star. And even though they were out of the oysters that I specifically went for, I couldn't even be mad at them because everything else was so darn yummy!!!! We had the frita and the chug burger. Wow! Again, perfect! *Eggs Anyway - 3 eggs, bacon, brunch potatoes. This was a simple yet well made dish. The bacon is smoked, and the potatoes are perfectly crunchy. First - thank you to all the staff for continued service during this pandemic and doing the best they can to serve all the customers. We came here for brunch on the weekend. The outdoor seating is very cozy and I loved the ambience. Makes for a wonderful weekend brunch, you can relax and enjoy your food and/or drinks. Atmosphere 5/5. The food on the other hand is A-Ok as yelp puts it for 3 stars. We ordered the ceviche, short rib hash, chef French toast, Burrata, fries and a pitcher of sangria. Sangria was watered down by too much ice and just didn't do it. The French toast was definitely delicious but I can how the Foie Gras isn't for everyone however very creative and definitely loved it. Everything else was underwhelming and not up to par. Short rib felt like the flavors didn't come together well and the aroma along with taste was just not what you expect from a short rib. 5/5 for the fries though, you can't go wrong. The staff was friendly and available, for service definitely 5/5. Overall for the ambience and some items on the menu this is a good place for a lazy weekend brunch. I will be back to drink in the patio but food could be a hot or miss depending on what one orders. read more

From start to finish everything was impeccable. All of the dishes were so different and delicious. I felt like they were really striving to bring in special flavors to their menu. We had the fois gras, which I had never tried before, but it was incredible. We shared the venison and I was honestly satisfied by that and the other appetizer that we ordered, the yuca. As someone of Cuban descent, I've never had yuca taste this good, and made in such a creative way, in both design and taste. The service was also just fantastic- felt like we were really being taken care of by anyone that came to our table. They've really earned that Michelin star! Keep up the good work Ariete! read more

Yum yum YUM!!! Love this little place. We had reservations for 11am and I'm so glad we did that. This place gets pretty packed later on and now I see why! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was equally great! We had a bit of an awkward encounter at first with the hostess, she seemed a bit lost. Not sure if she was new but she didn't seem like she was totally there (she also wasn't wearing a mask which was even more odd). Other than that, everything else was perfect. Our waitress was Ivonne (I believe that's her name) and she was so nice to talk to! She's also EXCELLENT at making coffee, it didn't even need sugar which is almost a shame because the coffee came with the cutest sugar cubes, I wish I needed them! Now on to the food, YUMMY! We first had the biscuits and they were absolutely delicious, too good to take a photo unfortunately but others have taken photos! As for the entrees, I ordered the Frita Benedict and my mother ordered their eggs any way. The Benedict was out of this world. I'm normally not a fan of eggs Benedict but this one was so good and I read great reviews about it so I decided to order it, so happy I did. My mother loved her meal as well and said the potatoes were probably the best breakfast potatoes she's ever had. We both obviously cleaned our plates! Wow - what an amazing brunch we had at Ariete! First of the location is beautiful. Due to COVID-19, restaurants are currently only allowed to offer outdoor seating which can be a pretty sweaty experience in the heat of Miami's summer. But Ariete, you feel like you're sitting in a tropical oasis with fans and a nice natural breeze. Service was very attentive and friendly. We ordered a lot of different items from the brunch menu: the biscuits, the Mamey toast, the Frita Eggs Benedict, the burata as well as some scrambled eggs. Everything was so flavorful. I have dined here various times; my last visit a day ago was excellent! The menu is limited, which is a sign of great eating. As the saying goes, you can't be everything to everybody, and Ariet does a fantastic job sticking to that mentality. We were two couples, and led straight in ponce we arrived. I started with the grilled oysters, which were two oysters with different sauces and grilled medium rare. That was fantastic. They served us a small sample of beet tartar, which was very nice. We ordered the chicken, the Fluke, and the venison as entrees. It was all perfect. The chicken with the peppers stuffed with rice was exceptional! We chose a dessert from one of the three deserts available; we had chocolate. It's hard to describe it here, but wow! Finally, they brought us some small finger-sized Key Lime bites, which were literally out of this world. The atmosphere is charming and low key, but very well served, with the staff being very attentive. If you expect large portions, this is not the place to go. "I want a seafood tower!" - should have been printed on a t-shirt and I could've worn for the duration of my Miami vacation. Seafood tower I got at Ariete. And some pasta. Along with several drinks. Probably too many drinks because my memory of the trip is quite fuzzy. Pro tip: Don't drink wine all day, then move to dirty martinis and seafood. Bad, bad idea... But I do have some beautiful photos of the seafood tower that the gracious chef put together for our party of three. What a lovely restaurant this is. Wish I had been more sober to remember the entire dinner I had there... But let me relive this wonderful meal, pre-COVID pandemic times. My friends and I had gone to a whiskey tasting event in the area in early March 2020, before we walked over here. One friend had said "the grilled oysters are awesome" and I was totally sold. He was right. The Charred Oysters were smoky and lusciously herbed, moistened with just the right amount of melted butter. We were seated right away outside despite having walked in without a reservation, but it was an earlier time for dinner, after 6pm. Our server got us started on drinks and menus soon afterwards, and service was never lacking even when it became busier in the restaurant. I started with a cucumber based cocktail, which was sweet and crisp. I remember we weren't very impressed with our wine choice, but that was on us, trying to navigate their extensive wine menu. (Better luck next time.) The pate and cheese board was elegant with collaborative enjoyment of many flavors. The pate was fresh and did not have any game odor. The short rib was delightful: crisped on the outside, tender on the inside, brought together with a savory au jus. There were a couple other dishes that we all shared that 1. I don't recall taking photos of, and 2. were assumed to be comfortingly tasty. The apex of this gallant meal was the duck breast that was finished off in front of us! A server made the sauce and poured it over the duck, at our table. The duck was supremely well cooked, just medium enough to be tender and having a firm sauce soaked exterior. The dessert---I don't recall what exactly it was, you can look at my photo lol, but I took it as a marvelous creamy panna cotta with a peach compote and cookie crumbles. A can't-miss brunch in Coconut Grove. Excellent food, service and atmosphere! We started with the rosemary biscuits, which were flaky and incredibly flavorful. My boo and I shared the frita benedict and the Cuban benny. Both were divine. We ended with the sticky bun, which was the perfect sweet treat to cap off the meal. As for drinks, shared the white sangria with some friends. It started off strong, but had a lot of ice, so got watered down quite quickly. Coconut grove has become such a whimsical, charming spot for dining, Ariete is one of the reasons why. When you enter you walk in among lush vines and twinkle lights. You're given a paper menu with a list of handcrafted cocktails. Each one I tried was delicious and the perfect amount of alcohol (AKA I got a lil buzzed). Service was exceptional. We got to try snacks made by the chef & fresh buttered rolls. We ordered the bone marrow butter oysters and the snapper ceviche. They were on top of making sure we were taken care of the whole time. My wife and I came here for our 16th wedding anniversary dinner. This has been one of the best culinary journeys I have ever experienced. Starting with the staff; simply amazing. Yvonne, our server, and Jeff, the sommelier were truly outstanding. We opted for the chef's tasting menu which is called versos sencillo. We chose the classic with the wine pairing. What a culines y experience!!! It is just hard to explain how great this was. I will hands down recommend it to the point that this place is a must. This was our first time here and it won't be the last! Truly a 5 star experience! I did not take pictures of the plates because we were just enjoying our time with my better half, but trust me when I say the plating, presentation, taste and story that comes with each dish is breathtaking and extraordinary. Alrighty then, this place is a must-try if you like food. It's as simple as that. I'm fine, review over. Okay, I'm not done, cuz I'm not done telling you how amazing this place is. So far we've been there for Happy Hour and Brunch and both times it was amazing. Everything we've ordered has been delicious. The pictures speak a thousand words, so I'll just use a few hundred. Must haves: - Chug Burger - Frita with cheese - Frita Benedict - French Toast Sticks Solid dishes that satisfy: - Hash - Eggs Anyway Not so good: - Tuna Conserva I've heard the Oysters with Bone Marrow Butter are to die for, but haven't been able to try them as they sold out the last happy hour I went to. But hopefully these will soon be on the list of Must Haves above. If you're going for Happy Hour, make sure to get there early, since seats at the bar are limited and the oysters sell out. read more

Oh, how I've heard about the infamous Ariete from all the way in Canada. How? Because local legend, Diandra L. has talked about them since the day they opened pretty much. So, naturally what was one of the first places she took me on my Ark Hospitality tour? Ariete. First things first, the interior decor, art, and entire restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. As the millenials would say... 5 stars just for the vibes. Second, the drinks. I tried the walter mercado and their old fashioneds. No clue what they put in their old fashioneds that made this one taste better than all the other ones I've had recently, but I loved every sip and also ordered maybe 4-5 more. Third and certainly not least, the food. Two words: hot damn. Everything I ate was delicious. We ordered the Chug's Burger, Frita, and bone marrow butter oysters. If you come to Ariete for anything... let it be the bone marrow butter oysters. Wow, just wow. Did it live up to the hype? Abso-freaking-lutely. Last minute brunch plans led us to dine at Ariete. They were one of the few restaurants in the Grove that had reservations on OpenTable for Saturday afternoon, so we just booked it. The restaurant impressed us in the best possible way, thanks its vibrant atmosphere, eclectic menu, and beautiful decor. AMBIANCE: As soon as we walked into Ariete, we fell in love with the place. As a plant lover, I was in heaven. Leafy plants, including huge fiddle fig leaf trees and hanging pothos, adorned most corners of the restaurant with their bright green colors. It was perfect for the area -- it screamed Coconut Grove. We sat inside, close to huge windows that allowed for plenty of natural light to peek through. The indoor area was as beautiful as the outdoor patio; the latter enjoying more breeze and space. The unique details of the restaurant - from their wicker-like chairs to the minimalist flower vase (with real flowers!) on the table - made us feel like we were dining at one of those restaurants you see on Travel & Leisure and other magazines. The place was just gorgeous. Latin classics from the 1970s-1990s played in the background; the music was so beautiful I caught myself Shazaming more than once throughout our meal. FOOD: The menu at Ariete was quite diverse. It had new-American staples, many of them with a twist, like the shrimp y harina and the Frita Benedict. That peculiar Miami sabor was evident in most dishes; the passion fruit on their french toast or the guava on the pancakes. I went with the Frita Benedict and it did not disappoint. It had the most delicious chorizo at the bottom and the crunchy papitas were the perfect touch on top. My boyfriend had the chug burger and really enjoyed. We accompanied our meal with their rosemary and parmesan biscuits - it was divine. I don't even like biscuits and ended up enjoying those. They do bottomless mimosas until they close, for $24. A bit pricier than other brunch places, but they were all made with freshly squeezed OJ. SERVICE: Service was top notch. From the hostess checking in on us prior to arriving and being understanding that we were running late to our server, who constantly checked on our table and kept bringing mimosas. She was very friendly and understanding to dietary restrictions and substitutions in some of our plates. All in all, we LOVED the concept behind Chef Michael Beltran's Ariete. The Cuban/Latin twists on the food were done magnificently and the ambiance of the restaurant made us feel at home. read more

What a lack luster experience. We made reservations for 4 for dinner on a Friday night at 715. I called ahead to see if the party could score an outside table rather than an inside table. My last experience was inside and that makes for a world of difference. The person on the other end could not guarantee an outside table as they were "first come first served" how? I asked when I had a reservation that specifically asked outside? He was dumbfounded and perhaps ran to a safe space. We arrived and went to the bar; which is small. My drink was actually really good; perhaps the highlight of the night other than conversation. We sat down and ordered their oysters. If you read my pre-COVID review you will notice I raved about them. Last time the roe and curry leapt in your mouth. I can still taste them three years on. This time wholly unimpressive. No flavor--a recurring theme in this kitchen that had so much potential. When we ordered the appetizers the waitress insisted that we order the entree; something she did with other tables. She repeated it twice. Unfortunately for her this crowd was all over 50 with two lawyers and two professors. So sorry, pass, wrong crowd to try to cajole into ordering all at once because management wants to turn over the table. When we came around to ordering the entrees a female manager called her over--mid sentence--because a table near us had an issue. To the manager: you are in charge, you deal with it, rather than adding another table to your service conundrum. I and another member ordered the venison. DON'T. It was perhaps the chewiest venison I've had in my life. Management will say "well venison is gamey and chewy." Hogwash. If prepared right and seasoned and tenderized, venison is flavorful even without the marbled fat typical of domesticated animals. This slab of meat was not tenderized, not seasoned. It felt, like the chef shot it yesterday in Big Cypress and threw it on the skillet. I was waiting to bite into a buckshot. The other patron said he felt like he had lock jaw from chomping down so much. Next time give the patrons a mallet to tenderize. The yuca another miss. How can you screw up yuca in Miami? My wife's grouper was over cooked. I had high hopes for Arite. I expected them to be awarded a Michelin Star now that the guide is canvassing Miami. But with this experience they missed the mark. It is now the second time I've been there in the last six months and it seems that they are riding on their coat tails from past experiences. read more

Drinks only review: I have been here a few times for drinks. They are prepared quickly and are quite strong. The drink menu is creative and the bartenders are very approachable. It gets quite loud in there as the dining area is next to the bar, even without ambient music. I would come back, earlier next time, when there are less people, to have a nice drink and conversation. read more

If I lived in Miami, I would brunch here every. single. weekend. and not be mad about my shrinking wallet and expanding waistline. First of all, they have a gorgeous patio and lively interior too. Lush yet modern. We bellied up to the bar and started with some winning choices of bottomless mimosas and cocktails. I got the Walter Mercado which is an experience in itself. When you receive the bright and balanced cocktail, you also get a spritz of rosewater and a mini tarot reading! It revived me after too much drinking and too little sleeping the night before. And damn, that Chug Burger. It's like a high quality version of a Big Mac, so what's not to like? I'm usually not a sweets person, but their pancake was the best I've ever had in my entire life. The pancake itself had some caramelization from the cast iron and was thick with the perfect amount of chew. Not to mention, it was topped with guava and cream cheese, my god. I also recommend the Frita Benedict. Great food, drinks, service, and vibe all around! read more
