    Chicken Parmesan sandwich
    Kaleigh P.

Stop what you're doing and go try Ariola's Deli & Market in Gainesboro, TN--seriously. This new family-owned Italian deli is a total hidden gem. I had the chicken parm sandwich and it was out of this world. Perfectly crispy, cheesy, saucy--everything you want in a sandwich and more. The customer service? Absolutely top notch. You can feel the pride and heart they put into every order. If you're looking for a new spot that's WORTH the drive, this is it. Support local, eat amazing--win-win. Located at: 104 E Hull Ave, Gainesboro, TN 38562 Already planning my next trip back for some gelato!

We made the scenic drive out to Gainsboro to try out Ariola's. We were blown away by the authentic flavors! The meatballs and sauce tasted like grandma was in the kitchen rolling the meatballs by hand. The Italian beef was also very authentic! We will definitely make another trip out here one day! Very quaint little place that we recommend adding to your "must visit" list!

I believe our server's name was John. The restaurant itself is beautiful and everyone was very friendly. We got quite a few things to share. We started with the grilled artichoke and foccacia bread with pesto which were both excellent. Really enjoyed the saltiness of the bread and the grilled warm lemon that they served with the artichoke. I would like to try the meatballs next. For our next dish, we got the Sunday lasagna. Really nice presentation and the noodles were so thin and fresh. The meat was so flavorful and delicious. We also got the pig pizza and spicy vodka rigatoni. The spicy vodka rigatoni was very spicy. Honestly, it was almost too spicy for me to eat much of it. My husband loved it though! I put some parmesan on mine but he felt he didn't need it. We also got the pig pizza which was delicious and flavorful as well. The salami on it definitely had some spicy kick to it though!

The shrimp scampi was excellent, the chicken parmesan was delicious, and overall the meal exceeded my expectations. I even enjoyed an Old Fashioned, although the quality seemed somewhat inconsistent from drink to drink. Because of that great first experience, I decided to bring my wife back for a second visit. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The shrimp scampi was overcooked, and the shrimp was tough. There was very little of the butter garlic sauce that normally accompanies the dish and is perfect for the bread. The chicken parmesan was also overcooked and tough. I wanted to bring this to your attention because the difference between our first and second visits was significant. I know the restaurant is capable of providing an excellent dining experience, which is why this recent visit was so disappointing.

I was looking forward to dining there again. But tonight our experience was not good. Our server was inattentive and slow . We received water immediately but then we were left quite a while before our server returned to take our orders. He was also slow to bring my wine. At the end of our meal, it took him forever to bring the check, My husband had the salmon which he said was good. I had the chicken saltimbocca which was not good. The chicken and prosciutto were good in my dish but the linguine had so much garlic it was nasty tasting. I ate the chicken but the overpowering taste of the garlic was very bitter and unpleasant. I ate only a small portion of it. Now I feel a bit nauseous and I know it is from the garlic. That seemed to be the only seasoning in the dish and was definitely too much. And our location was not pleasant. We were not in the main dining room but in what seemed to be a porch that could be opened in nice weather. There was a table of six other patrons who were obnoxiously loud and disruptive to the other diners in the room. Yes, they were having a good time but were negatively impacting other diners. Nothing was done by restaurant management to ask them to quieten down. Overall, the dining experience tonight was just bad. We won't be back.

Like, it's good enough that you *will* contemplate eating your order in your car before heading home. It's well worth the drive and it will live up to everything you've heard/read. It will. You absolutely need to patronize it. TdG had been on my radar for a minute but I'm not often in Hermitage* and I couldn't justify driving out of town for food when I have other options closer by. BUT I had to find out if the food was *just* that good. I'd read rave after rave. It's just pasta. Can it be that great? So, on a chilly late fall Saturday night I decided I needed to find out. I'd done my research so I knew the place was small. I knew I might need to play human tetris in the waiting area on a cold day. I knew what to order. But I also 'knew' that the 'say Yelp' phrase would offer a discount. The phrase was uttered but no discount came my way (which is the reason for the four stars instead of five). Lack of discount aside, everyone with whom I interacted was very polite and welcoming even despite the place being a madhouse of activity and orders. My food was ready in an appropriate amount of time and the bag had adequate weight/heft. The pleasant aroma filled the cold air as I walked to my car and surrounded me all the way home. I came home, poured a glass of wine, plated my food and... wow. This was/is phenomenal. I ordered the 4 cheese gnocchi and, without a doubt, one of the best gnocchi dishes I have had in life (and I used to be paid to eat**). I think I uttered the word 'perfect' between forkfuls. Each 'perfect' pillowy dumpling was lathered in a combo of mozzarella, asiago, gorgonzola, and pecorino. That alone would have been delicious but woven into the dish were ribbons of crispy prosciutto. Other.Worldy. It's getting cold. Sweater weather is here. Bathing suit season is months away. You're free to eat heaping plates of some of the best pasta you've ever had. *I came before they had a second location. **Among other things.

I was completely impressed from the food, to the service, to the overall experience. We spent the several hours here laughing, dancing out the full pasta tummies and toasting to a good time. I really didn't expect to leave full after seeing the first few courses but I can safely say it was well worth the money because I left absolutely stuffed. What is really unique about this, compared to other coursed meals is they will box up anything you can't finish so you can take it home. I enjoyed most of the courses, especially the fresh made mozzarella, the creamy pasta and the donuts. The cocktails were great too but as you can imagine with many people ordering drinks at the same time, it took a little to get your drinks. Nothing wrong with this though! The head chef gave a lovely speech about how this restaurant came to be and the intent behind it which brought tears to my eyes. You can tell that there is huge level of care put into every aspect of this place and by the time you leave it feels like leaving your aunt and uncles place. So even if you don't love every dish or some of the dancing made you feel silly what you remember is how lovely the night was overall and what this place makes you feel. It was a very perfect all around and really fit the theme and intent for my birthday this year. For me this is more of a special occasion kind of place but I will certainly be back and will be telling friends to go.

The sweet pickles on it really made the sandwich stand out and gave it an awesome flavor. The atmosphere was really cool and felt very authentic. They also have a grocery section where you can buy authentic Italian sauces, pasta noodles, and other items, which was a nice touch. The only thing that surprised us was the fountain drinks being $5 each, but they do come in a souvenir cup. If you're looking for an amazing sub sandwich, I highly recommend Little Hats. The food was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and Germantown itself is a great area to walk around and explore. There are tons of cool places nearby. Culamar is drenched in natural light and decorated simply - nothing too loud or busy about the place, thus perfect for a working lunch. The menu was odd and we all struggled to understand the categories it was broken up into. Each item read as a series of arbitrarily listed ingredients. Our (half asleep, disinterested) waitress informed us the dishes were, in majority, "tapas style", a term I find exhaustingly passé. I began to dream of restaurants down the road we could have selected, but we were here and we must stay the course! I had to keep it together for Dennis. We ordered 6 dishes for the three of us to share, and you know what? They were all excellent. Really such outstanding bites. I was stunned by how much I enjoyed the beef carpaccio, the calamari was the best I've ever had (amazing tempura fry!), the Gnuddi (basically a massive gnocchi) in browned butter and crisp sage was a pillowy delight. The food itself was absolutely delicious. The bread was AMAZING and honestly one of the highlights. We also ordered the oysters, beef carpaccio, and duck, and everything tasted incredible. My biggest complaint is the price for the portion sizes. I really don't mind spending money on a nice dinner, but every dish we ordered was gone in what felt like less than a minute. Everything tasted amazing, but for the amount of food you actually get, I just couldn't justify the prices. We actually left and ended up going to another restaurant afterward because we were still hungry, which was pretty disappointing considering how much we had just spent. Overall, the food was delicious, but between the extremely small portions, high prices, tight space, and slower service, it just wasn't worth it for us. I'm glad we tried it, but I wouldn't go back.
