The pizza here is phenomenal. Absolutely love trying their weekly specials. They have a nice little beer selection that is very reasonably priced as well. Service is always excellent too. Last time we went we ordered a couple slices and someone forgot about them in the oven. It was no problem because we were dining in, enjoying our beer. The slices came out excellent as always, they threw in a free dessert and a discount for the extended wait time which was literally only five minutes. Fantastic food. I stopped here recently with my dad for a couple sandwiches. I got an Italian sandwich and he got a meatball sub. Both were delicious. We also bought four beers from the cooler. My only two knocks were how slow the service was- they seemed to be more interested in preparing to close than taking care of their patrons, and the .50 cents I was charged for a side of mayonnaise. What a cute lunch spot! We decided to stop here after browsing some shops downtown. They have plenty of options to choose from, including salads, sandwiches, and pizza. We decided to try their specialty pizza of the day which had hot honey, pesto and pepperoni on it. The pizza was amazing coming from someone who is from NJ and is very picky with my pizza! I decided to try the Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious. The steak was very tasty and the Brussels that I chose as my side were phenomenal! We tried this place because of how the pizza looked. A couple was dining outside and we struck up a conversation. This restaurant sells slices, which is not common around here. We went inside to a welcoming, friendly vibe. The pizza was excellent - crispy slices with tasty toppings (cheese, tomato, basil in our case.) They have other types. I can't recommend this place enough. Their food is SOLID. Stopped in on a whim while passing through the Cookeville area over a weekend. Their other reviews brought me near and I didn't know what to expect. I am SO glad I did! Their pizza is over the top good. They sell by the slice and even though I'd just had lunch, I got me a fresh slice to try. Traditional pepperoni is a personal favorite of mine, and theirs is one of the best I've tried. The crust was light and crisp, it had a great fresh marinara, plentiful, delicious pepperoni's and a great cheese-to-sauce-to-topping ratio. They had a special that was a chicken pesto slice that was also killer. It was so good and fresh and quality that I went back later that same day for dinner (and maybe another slice too). I opted for their chicken parm sandwich and it was very good too! The only negative I'll say is that they don't do air conditioning. It was about 95+ outside, so inside the restaurant, even with the door closed and the fans on, it was about 85. Much too hot and uncomfortable for sitting and eating. Otherwise, the staff is nice and friendly and quick, the prices are more than fair for such freshly-prepared, delicious food, and the location is not bad either. There are several shops, breweries, and other eateries around, so it's a fun walk if you're new to the area and it makes it easy to grab a slice and a brew! read more

First visit. Late lunch on week-day. Had a gyro "wrap" ($5.95) and falafel wrap ($6.95) and a side of tabouli ($3). All was good - the gyro meat was definitely the best, although the tabouli, too, was excellent. The place has only 3 four-seater tables, so time your visit if you hope to eat-in. Worst thing: the AC was broken and awaiting another couple weeks for repair so it was 96F inside but had ceiling fans going (barely decided to stay, but glad we did). Best thing: they sell cans of craft beer to have with your meal - at an excellent price ($3+). Also, they do not have ice, so if you ask nicely they'll put a pint glass in the freezer to chill while they make your food. Pizza smelled good, too - maybe on our next visit?? They have recently adjusted prices of their menu, so what we were charged was less on some things than shown on the menu, but more on a couple others. Not worth the price anymore...Last visit surprised me a lot!! We were regulars there but on our last trip ordered usual lunch order to go for the guys and when they opened the boxes we thought the order was wrong because the serving sizes in all 3 boxes (2 XL slices each) were literally half what they've always been and toppings were almost nonexistent! Stopped by for lunch on Friday while visiting family members in Cookeville. World Foods is located in the historic WestSide Cultural District with several other local restaurants nearby - the WestSide was quite busy area for lunch on Friday, it was hard to find a parking spot. I walked in and informed you order at the counter and they bring your food to you and you pay once you're done. World Foods was busy with carry out orders, lots of pizza, but I went with Chicken Pesto Wrap. The wrap was served hot right from the kitchen and was good. I noticed others around me also getting wraps and pizza. Definitely worth a stop in Cookeville and to get their pizza, after my wrap, I wish I would have selected pizza instead - the wrap was good, but seeing all of the delicious pizzas around me their true specialty is pizza. read more

My husband and I recently moved to this area. We walked in and were greeted by friendly staff. We explained it was our first visit and they were helpful. We both order a slice of pizza, very generous size they are, and my OH MY it was delicious! Full of flavor and the crust was spot on perfect. We got a fabulous can of peach sweet tea. I cannot remember the name. Had a woman's name and made in Nashville. THAT tea was cold, crisp and had the right amount of peach flavor. It all was fantastic. The atmosphere was very nice, music from the 60's, 70's and they even changed to current "rock". Not too loud either. We highly recommend and we will be returning, quite a few times. This is a great little place to eat! It's a quaint eatery in the old Cookville town. There are several tables inside and three more outside on the footpath. The chairs are rock hard and not conducive to any prolonged sitting. Given the great food, this could well be a management strategy to prevent people from lingering after eating. The service is friendly and the food...... My wife ordered falafel. She said it was excellent, fresh, hot and not at all greasy. She followed that with a slice of pepperoni pizza which was sensational. The crust was delightful, there was plenty of cheese and they didn't skimp on the sausage! She finished with a chocolate mousse which was exceptional. I ordered hummus and pita bread. The hummus was brilliant, the bread was equally good. Next time you're driving between middle and east Tennessee, take the time to leave the interstate at Cookeville, head about two miles or so away from the interstate, and take in the character filled old town. There are plenty of highly rated eateries here which we will try on subsequent visits. For now, though, we thoroughly recommend World Foods. It's a great find in a wonderful little town. read more

It's small but still busy on a Thursday night at 7pm. So comfortable and enjoyable! Pizza was great, gyro amazing. My husband raved about the tabouli salad and he doesn't like new things. Pizza is my love language and everywhere I travel I look for the best local restaurants. While it hasn't been particularly helpful for my waistline I have developed a pretty informed pallet for that dish. With that in mind let me say that this is the best pizza I've found within a 4 hour radius of Cookeville (for sure) and I don't know that I've ever had better anywhere. Think I'm over hyping? Go try a simple pepperoni and see if I'm wrong. If you don't like it I'll buy the rest of the pie off you. :) All of that also ignores the rest of the menu here, which is considerably excellent as well. If you are into Mediterranean food you're in for a treat. The gyros are great (also, you know, more about pizza - the gyro pizza is great - hold the oninons imo but still) and they have something called a lamachun that I had never had before trying it at this shop. I'm not entirely sure how I survived before that experience but I know my life was slightly darker in those days. No joke - the only thing that can (sometimes) prevent me from ordering slices here is the allure of the lamachun. I'm not affiliated with this restaurant in any way, just to be crystal clear, so my enthusiasm arises from how much I enjoy the food. For real - go eat here. read more
