I heard this place was decent and wanted to give it a try. I ordered specifically all the pepperoni to be touching each other. 2x -3x whatever the up charge was I'd be ok. Well as you can see by the pictures it was worse than Dominos and 3x as much. The garlic knots were ok as were the Cannoli chips. Will I return? I love their hot honey pepperoni pizza. I also love that they add dollops of ricotta! The pizza is authentic and great. This is a great family owned business. Once I had my two year old son there, dining in, and asked if they had milk to buy. I love Tony's so much and think about it constantly!! Classic, delicious pizza. Plus, it's very affordable. It's my favorite pizza in town and the workers are very sweet. I think the only downside is that the ambiance is lacking, but that's not why we go there. Also, Tony's wife makes some of the most delicious cheesecake-- and I say that as a very picky cheesecake connoisseur. My first time eating here. The staff were friendly. thin crust pizza with dough made fresh daily. We got the 18" veggie pizza and it was delicious.We took it to go. My only criticism is being forced to tip on a pick up orderif you pay by card. You look like a jerk if you decline. We were super full after 3 slices. Marinara sauce was excellent and the toppings were plentiful with generous cheese. We also ordered the triple chocolate cheesecake. I only had room for one bite, but it was an explosion of chocolatey goodness. The cheesecake is home made as well. They dao have dine in as well. The restaurant is in a little strip plaza, ambiance is not much, but the quality makes up for that. Will be back for sure. read more

Landed here about 5pm on a Friday night and ordered (1) 18" 1/2 Pepperoni 1/2 Cheese and (1) 18" The Menu Pizza and an order of cannoli chips. We left with our food about 50 minutes later. This was due to a staff shortage that night and the leadership left us know about the wait and also apologized. So I can't speak to the time wait. The pizza was delicious and definitely has that New York flair. Thin crust, lighter sauce and a fair amount of cheese. The Menu Pizza will definitely have me coming back to this place next time I am in town. The Ricotta Cheese on top - mmmmmmm. Especially if you do the New York thing and fold that bad boy in half, that ricotta gets spread around very well. I snagged a slice of my buddy's pizza who got pep, sausage and banana peppers - I love banana peppers on pizza so this combo was another win in my book. The Cannoli chips were good too. Kids called them Cannoli nachos. The cream was cold which made it refreshing and not too heavy. As far as price it is high for pizza, BUT it is in line with other New York style places I have been too in Tennessee that have a good following. We did not dine it but it looked like there was a main room that was a little cozy and a smaller lobby area up front. Just awesome!!!! The pizza was SO good and Tony is the nicest guy!!!! We get 3 or 4 pizza's "light cook", I come home and wrap them in cellophane and put them back in the box and put them in the freezer for those nights we are too lazy to cook. It works out really well!! 400 degrees for 15 min! Perfection! It's further out of the way for us but I won't go anywhere else. They also have a donation crate for those unused bath products, hair products, soap products that you just have sitting around. I have a ton!! To call this New York style pizza is a blatant lie that is unforgivable. The crust of the pie is soft with no crunch and is way undercooked. The mozzarella has no stretch and the pepperoni was not cooked. The garlic knots were also severely undercooked and the marinara sauce was Dom Pepino from NJ and not real homemade sauce. Just down the street from Tennessee Tech is a small family owned pizzeria worth a shot. Atmosphere is a lil meek but the pizza was top notch. I had the garlic knots and a 10" pie. The knots were slightly overdone and didn't have a distinctive flavor. But the pizza crust was the perfect hand-tossed thickness with a crispness to it with nice soft center. Perfect portion of ingredients without them being loose and falling off. Def going to be back for more pizza. Calzones looked amazing as well.....till next time!! read more

I stopped by here on my way through Cookeville. My daughter attends TN Tech, so we have been to Cookeville many times over the past few years and we have eaten at most of the restaurants there (non-chain). This was my first time at Big Tony's as it is off the S Willow/S Jefferson corridors that flank the city. My guess is they are mostly a carry out pizza place but there is limited seating in the main business suite and they have a large party room next door where they had high top tables and long conference style tables where I sat. The staff was super friendly and even though it is not a full service restaurant, I was asked if I needed anything a few times while I sat waiting for my order and once after I received it! Nice. I ordered a Stromboli (as listed) and I would put it up there with any I've had elsewhere. I also ordered a house salad that was good but somewhat pedestrian with bagged lettuce, limited toppings, and packaged, commercial dressing. I probably wouldn't bother with a salad the next time. All-in-all, I liked this place. I will probably take the family there to try it on our next visit, so I can experience the pizza. read more

I really enjoyed this old school type pizza. Greasy, thin, lots of flavor. Really good stuff. But then I saw a cockroach walking across the floor, hubby stepped on it. But it still turned my stomach. Cause if there is one there is a million more. I think the place needs a good cleaning and overhaul. If they clean the place up I'll be back. Big Tony and his family and crew made us feel welcome and even offered alfredo sauce, the homemade meatballs and even the cannoli.
