He said I needed to go to plastics as you wouldn't go to an electrician for a plumbing matter. He was dismissive and said I shouldn't chase my pain with more pain. Insinuating that I should just deal with it. I went to another doctor who preformed surgery removing the stitches and the infection that surrounded them. I would not recommend any woman go to him as he wouldn't listen to you anyway.

All providers and staff remained the same as it was all branches of the overall practice. It is a large building and located in Suite 314. It is not very clear in the directory, but you will take the elevator to the 3rd floor. I found immediately once exiting the elevator. Everything looked new and maintained well, so I can see why they transitioned to this office. Upon check in, you will be directed to take a urine sample typically and then take a seat in the lobby as you await to be taken to a room. The bathroom is on the right hand side after the desk. It is much farther back than you realize, and don't want you entering the wrong room! Especially since there is a room labeled L and M, which I initially thought could be Ladies and Men. Oops! The lobby is spacious and seats 20+ people. The chairs are spacious if you wanted to spread out as Covid is still prevalent at times, plus any nasty bugs going around. I personally like to social distance though this is a normal practice to come in sick sick. Overall, it was pretty comfortable while you wait and I did enjoy the third level views from the windows that bring in natural light. As for the type of care and care quality, I must say they have some exceptional staff!!! Donna Bouley N.P. was absolutely amazing this visit! Extremely thorough in reviewing family history, my chart, and tailoring prescription to exactly what I need. She also advocated for me to be able to schedule and see a surgeon for a consult for something I've been trying to advocate for myself for over a decade. Truly appreciative of the care received at this office this week, and all the past visits as they diagnosed a tumor and have been great monitoring it. I cannot recommend them enough!

My…read morefirst appointment he explained everything well in terms of it being a laparoscopic procedure using mesh and answered my questions. Directly after the surgery, I was told there were no complications. I do still feel the screws they used to attach the mesh to my body cavity. They still cause me pain. It's 7 weeks post op and I was told they would dissolve and they definitely have not. I've gone in for a 3-4 post op appointments because they said it would be 2-3 days painful but it was more like 5-7 days of real core pain. The light duty and lifting limitations should be extended too. For any person, this is a big surgery. They try to say, "yeah people bounce back the next day..." well, that's not my experience. Kaelyn Garner has been great for questions post op too. I have another post op this Monday (11/13) so we'll see what she says about my recovery. Front desk receptionists (Janet?!) probably knows my phone number by heart because I was calling with questions from recovery, thank you. Update- 12/04/2023 When I went in for the surgery, they didn't tell me about the dissolvable screws. They said it would take about six weeks for them to dissolve, and they still have not. They caused me pain when I'm walking on my crutches as I am still nonweightbearing from my back to back surgeries, bending, during my period, or any little movement in my abdomen. I have a friend say that she didn't have to have screws put in her body after Dr Armini had to fix a hernia after my friend, Emma's hysterectomy. She was my reference for the doctor, but I don't understand why he did different procedures. I would definitely ask him about it prior to surgery. I was under the impression the mesh would just stick to my body cavity.

I figured I would just walk in and make an appointment since it's literally right across the street from my neighborhood. There was a lady outside who I asked what time they opened and she said 8:00. So I came in and the lady from outside was now behind the counter. I believe her name was Cece. I asked if I could make an appointment for a surgery evaluation, and she said, "oh we don't make appointments in person, you have to call" I feel like she was either having a bad morning and I thought she was kinda rude so I just left. I went and got in my car and contemplated calling for an appointment or just finding a different spot because of the treatment I received. But all of a sudden, there she was standing at my passenger door telling me she could get me an appointment. Her entire attitude had changed and she became much more pleasant. She said the person that normally sets appointments was not there yet but she wanted to get me taken care of anyway. I don't know if the correct person wasn't there or if Cece WAS the correct person, and quite honestly, I didn't and I don't care. The fact that she did a course correction and changed up her entire demeanor to be very nice and friendly was amazing in my opinion and I appreciated it. She took what could have been a bad day and turned it into a great one. So far this has been my interaction here but I have my appointment today (why I checked in, lol) so I will let you know how it goes from here.

Dr Purcell did amazing work on my shoulder, and his staff has gone way beyond what is required of them. I had problems with other places, imaging, labs, things like that, and they were so quick to get on the phone and fix all those problems even though it wasn't their fault, just to make sure i was taken care of. They even delivered to my house, a pneumatic cryo shoulder brace, because they thought it would help with my pain and recovery. To my house, they personally brought it to my house and showed me how to use it! Anyway, I would HIGHLY recommend this amazing Doctor and his outstanding staff for any orthopedic needs you may require. I am beyond happy and pleased by my experience.

On our…read morerecent follow-up with the surgeon, she recommended physical therapy (why didn't she recommend that last year??!!). And, specifically, she mentioned Bustillo Physical Therapy. Have had several sessions now, and I can see why. Most PT offices will have you do stretches and exercises. Which is fine. But this office appears to be one of the few that knows how to handle cancer survivors. After the initial evaluation, the first thing that happened was a sort of massage of the affected area. This is to reactivate the damaged lymph system in that area, to counteract lymphedema. Most other PT offices won't do that. In fact, we consulted our massage therapists, and they said that even they don't do that. Each session begins with the lymphedema massage. Karen is a PhD in physical therapy (per the diploma on the wall). Maybe that has something to do with it. We have noted great improvement in range of motion, swelling, and pain in the upper body. We still need to work the lower body, but hopefully they'll get to that soon. They are starting to work strength now, because flexibility has improved so much. The two things to "ding" them for is: 1) they don't have a lot of equipment, and 2) their layout is not the best. I'm not sure if different equipment would benefit us or not, but they don't have a lot of equipment so we can't really know anyway. However, using the simple tools they do have we have seen a lot of improvement. As for their layout, the biggest thing is that the work/exercise area is also the traffic area. So you're standing doing arm curls, and someone has to go past you, you have to move to allow them to pass you. That shouldn't be. Someone's workout program should not be interrupted because another person needs to go by you to use the restroom, or needs to get to the elastic bands, or whatever. I'm not an expert at designing layouts, but there should be a way to have an unobstructed path that doesn't disturb patients' routines. This doesn't take away from the vast improvements we are seeing, but it is an annoyance that should be addressed somehow. This is one of those situations where I'd like to be able to do a half star (4.5 stars), but Yelp doesn't do that. We are happy with the results so far, and are looking forward to further improvement.

I needed therapy shortly thereafter and Trish and others that handled the phones juggled things so we could have therapy at the same time since we drive approx 12 miles to the facility. Miche is our principal therapist and is absolutely 10 of 10. When things get busy the other therapists switch off and know what they are doing. I have been to other therapists and this crew is top notch. One office in Scottsdale actually aggravated my condition. I did not return. Karen, the owner? Manager? Has put a great team together. When asked if Dr. Champagne could write a doctors note regarding taking an extended breaks to relieve my pain from the breast discussed in the appt. She said to follow up with Dr. Poku. I'm like what is your purpose then? because the breast exam, Dr. Poku could have done. I wasted an hour of my time leaving work just for her to defer everything back to my OB. I suffer from severe chronic back and SI joint pain from an unhealed pelvic fracture, so sitting in the waiting room sometimes over an hour past my appointment time is ridiculous, I shouldn't have to take a dose of morphine to get through the waiting process. I have left a couple times because of unbearable pain. Front desk agents are rude and seem uncaring. When I come in for an infusion the room is never more than 1/2 full but wait time to even be acknowledged is way too long. Dr Batra doesn't seem to care about my extenuating circumstances. I have mantle cell lymphoma which is all the stress I can bear without what I have just described added to it. Mantle cell is an incurable and aggressive cancer so time precious.
