This place has some pretty decent donuts. Great selection as well. I especially like the glazed buttermilk donuts. I really wish they had some regular cream filled donuts or long johns. It is so hard to find any if those anymore. $8.99 a dozen seems to be the average going price in the Phoenix area, so they are in line with this price point. My friend goes there for the Thai Chai Latte I believe is what she called it and says they make a pretty good one. This place is good, but not great. I had a ham and cheese croissant and a strawberry banana smoothie with boba. The boba wasn't that good. It was kind of hard and tasted kind of old. The smoothie was creamy but it didn't taste great to me. The croissant was good though and a good size, so I would recommend the croissant. If you get a drink, you get a free donut. The workers okay. One was nice, but the other didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I probably wouldn't recommend this place to other people, but it's still good and I may or may not come again. read more

Ok, yes I am a bit partial to Bosa, but there was none in sight. This place was a close second though. I had not been eating sweets when I stopped for the sugary circular devil. The counter server was delightful. Not one of the owners, she was accommodating and pleasant. The breakfast ham and cheese sandwich was meh; super cheap "cheez" and same for the ham. The croissant was somewhere between grocery store baked goods and genuine viennoiserie, but had a crispness close enough to the latter that I enjoyed it. The selection is staggering. Arizona Donuts is based in an old Wendy's building, so I guess their kitchen has plenty of muscle. The French donut, the only kind I had, was not excellent. I didn't want to eat the second one I bought, but since I'm on a road trip it did get consumed later. Their coffee is harsh but fine. I stopped in for a quick donut fix. They were in back hard at work making donuts. The screech of the door alarm going off as I walked in brought a woman from in back to the counter. The selection of donuts were was about the same as you would find at most places. I got a fritter. Fritters can be either very good or not so much . I have had some that were very oily because the oil wasn't hot enough when they were made. This was not the case. The fritter was crispy and sweet, little smaller than some. The Thai tea tastes typical to me, nothing spectacularly different. I will try the smoothies next time. I'm not super crazy about donuts but this place is near my work and when I get the sudden urge for some sugar I hit this place up. Not all the workers here seem too happy to be there but then again it is open 24 hours and perhaps some may have odd shifts? I just love the fluffy ball donuts, their addicting! You can't just eat one, got to eat em all. I don't like their iced coffees, I tried them a few times now and it's always made too sugary for my liking even I ask to not make it too sweet. Don't get me wrong, I'm a Bosa fan tried and true. But as a runner up I vote for AZ Donut Co. Their donuts are fresh, they offer a good variety and they are friendly. They don't have anything that really stands out - no specialty donuts or anything like that (at least not that I know of) but they have your typical variety of cake donuts, glazed raised, twists and jelly-filled. But when you need to get your donut on do you really need more than that? I give 'em a solid 4 stars. read more

I got a buttermilk donut which was good but everything else was not great. My husband got a strawberry-filled donut which he said tasted like it was filled with strawberry icing. He also got a strawberry smoothie which he specified to the cashier was a fresh-fruit smoothie and it tasted like icing as well. I got a milk tea which was the worst I've ever tasted. It didn't taste like it had any tea in it and the sweetness was both overwhelming and artificial tasting. The tapioca balls were too hard to even go up the straw and would get stuck. I've been a somewhat regular customer of this place since I noticed it a few months ago, and I have to say that the quality is consistent with other AZ-based donut shops like Bosa and Rainbow. They have an absolutely HUGE selection of drinks, both bottled and freshly made, which is awesome. They also have sandwiches on the menu that look pretty tasty, though I never think to try them. I go in with one of two options in mind: donut or Thai iced tea. The only downside to this place, for me, is the electronic bell that screams at you as you enter and exit. Holy hell, is that thing nerve-wracking. I realize that there are only one or two people manning the place at once and they need to be alerted from all the way in the back when people come in. But unless they want to give people tinnitus, they should really consider lowering the volume on that thing. Another thing that seems a bit disconcerting is that this place is a ghost town every time I visit. I've never been in during the AM hours, so I can't comment on how busy they are at peak donut time. But in the late afternoon/night, there's usually nobody else in sight. Which is fine by me, as I get faster service. But given this building's history (it has been a KFC and countless other short-lived burrito shops), it doesn't seem like a good omen. read more

Me and my sister went hear on rain day 2014 as part of our no school/work adventure and it was far from a pleasurable experience. First thing, as we walked in the door the sound of the door bell was ear piercing. I don't think I could accurately put into words how gruesome it actually was. Next, we ordered our donuts; I got a jelly filled powdered donuts which I was quite excited about, they are not always the easiest to find. There was much to be wanted. The donuts had this odd aftertaste I couldn't quite put my finger on. My sister got a plain old chocolate covered donut that she wasn't totally digging either.
