We went here actually in the summer to try out their summer activities. They currently offer a Family Friday deal where adults get $1 off unlimited summer activities ($59) and unlimited kids activities are $39. The regular price for each activity varies from $10-15 and the gondola rides also vary. Day-of tickets for the gondola when we went were around $20 per ride that day I think. We got our money's worth that day as we tried multiple activities and stayed here from late morning until late afternoon. Some things to note: - The summer tubing is really fun but wear shoes that have more tread or grip on them as the fake grass gets slippery as you ascend up towards the top of the hill. It was difficult for me to haul my tube and the kiddo's tube with the athletic shoes I had. - The treasure hunt was really cool as it was a fossil based treaure panning. The kiddo got a lot of different and distinct fossils including seashells and amber. - The gondola ride is a relaxing scenic route 10 minutes each way. When you get up to the top there is a building (with a restroom I think) and a hiking trail you can go on. Activities that aren't included in the summer unlimited pass are the virtual skiing and disc golf rentals. We had lunch from the Agassiz lounge which was a premium cost for average fare. While there is a designated pet area right next to the summer activity area, pets aren't allowed past this spot. The substrate is wood chip so keep that in mind if your pupper has mobility problems and can't walk on uneven surfaces that well. When we went there were a few benches for people and their dogs to relax and sit. Most of the benches were in the shade which was nice since it was a warm day when we visited. A perk of Snowbowl is that kids can ski here for free in the winter if you set up an account with them. I haven't tried it yet but it would be something fun to do once winter hits. read more

I took our son and his friends to Arizona Snowbowl for some snowboarding fun at the end of February. It was unseasonably warm so there wasn't much snow, but we still had a lot of fun. We arrived shortly after Snowbowl opened and there was already a line to check-in, but it moved quickly. We pre-purchased our tickets ahead of time and everything went smoothly. We also signed up for the complimentary beginner snowboarding class included in our ticket since we were all new. We attempted to snowboard before our class and failed over and over, so were grateful for the class. Our instructor was personable and helpful. He taught us the basics which made snowboarding a lot more enjoyable. After an hour or so of the class, we were free to try the beginner slopes. There was a live DJ on the patio the day of our visit. There was also some type of competition. The food hall didn't have much of a variety and have limited vegan and vegetarian options. Items were a bit pricey, too. Overall, we had a good experience. We would definitely return, especially since this is the closest snowboarding option to us. read more

Snow bowl is not just a place to go during winter time for skiing, but a place for all seasons! This is a great place to come in the fall for leaf changing when you are over 11,000 feet! The colors are amazing....plus plenty of places to take in some hikes and enjoy the beauty abound! Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a ride in the gondolas above the trees tops or grab a drink and/or some food. Plus plenty of great photo opportunities. Drinks for being at a ski resort are at a fair price. Food a bit higher but you need to consider where you are eating. We will definitely keep this hidden gem on our radar for fall time! read more

I came here in the middle of October to take a gondola ride and see all of the fall foliage. I bought my tickets online before I arrived. There was a lot of traffic getting there, I think it was peak time for the fall colors, but when we arrived, a worker pointed us in the direction we needed to go and told us where to park. The line to get on the gondola was EXTREMELY long, and I think we waited an hour and a half. Luckily, the weather was beautiful out and they had some live music going. It made the experience a bit better. The gondola ride itself was fun. We had to go in groups of 6-8 but we were still pretty comfortable. The views were great! I don't think I'll need to do this again, and I'm not sure if the long line was worth it. But I'm glad I did it. read more

It was a 50 degree day in town but people were snowboarding up here in the man made snow. It was mildly crowded and everyone in good spirits. I would say you can still enjoy a day of boarding and hopefully get a good deal on your lift ticket. I saw an equal amount of boarders and skiers. Be careful walking around the lodge cuz people will whack you and bump you with their board. We made it here the last weekend in October before they closed to ride the gondola. The lines were ridiculously long, but I am happy I went. I wanted to see the fall and the trees change colors. They had signs out noting that there would be long waits because parties would ride together... but after a while they announced that they would not be following that posted guideline and parties would have to be mixed and ride together with others (we were a party of 2 and they put us in with a party of 3). Came by in the fall to ride the scenic gondola up to the top and walk around and soak in the views. It was an easy process to purchase tickets online and check in upon arrival. There was some live music and a couple people at the bar/restaurant. The bathrooms were not very clean, which was surprising because it really wasn't that busy. We took the ride up to the top and it was super windy and chilly! There was a super friendly park service volunteer, who toward us around and pointed out all the landmarks and gave us Smoky the Bear stickers. We walked around the trails, snapped a couple photos, and decided to head back down. It was about 10 minutes before close and about a quarter of the way down, the gondola stopped. After a couple minutes, it started back up again and continued down, but then stopped again. We tried calling to find out what was going on, but no one answered because it was after hours, which was really frustrating. We were stopped for approximately a half hour before somebody finally called us to explain that there was a mechanical issue. Within 15 minutes, we started moving again and reached the bottom safely. The staff was really apologetic and offered either a refund or a credit for future use. Things like this happen;can't be upset about that. Would've been nice to have been contacted sooner but did appreciate the customer service once we landed at the bottom. read more

While in town at Flagstaff, we wanted to see some fresh snow in the mountains so drove here to check out the snow at the higher elevation. Maybe 1.2 miles before you get to the resort, you can park along the side of the road to play in the snow and build snowmen. Pretty fun and unexpected. read more

We planned our visit for this past Saturday for the scenic Gondola ride. I purchased the tickets online and it was fast and easy. $32 each The day came to be and we arrived during the 10am - 1pm time slot we had reserved. Parking was plenty but the lot was starting to get full quickly. We parked, went inside, up the stairs, stepped outside, when bam we were hit with the sign that said " DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER THE LIFT IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED." Oh no, we had driven from PHX for this and now it was a maybe if we would even get to go up. We decided to sit at the bar and order some hot chocolate and an Angry Orchard. The bartender was sooo friendly and attentive. She helped us out right away and at this point it was raining cats and dogs. We decided to just wait it out and eat. We ordered a mushroom burger with fries and it came out right when the downpour had stopped. The burger was really good. It was cooked well and was very flavorful. The fries were our favorite as they were hot and crispy. My hot chocolate was delicious. It was perfectly sweet, hot, and the marshmallows were the cherry on top. My sister bought herself a hoodie from the gift shop and the worker there was also very friendly. They had a selection of winter attire, boots, accessories, and cute souvenirs at reasonable prices. The Gondola ride finally opened up after the down pour and we made it on up. The ride was quick but the views were beautiful. We got off at the top and walked around a few minutes. It was pretty cold and foggy up there so we couldn't really look out. There is a bathroom located at the top and there are benches / tables set up. Overall we had a good time. Purchased early season ticket for opening day. Never received a confirmation email. Reached out for days via every communication medium known to man, tried to call, tried emailing, left a message on FB messenger, left a message on their own facebook posts. No one got back to me. Showed up the day of to learn I needed to stand in a 2 hour line to pick up my day ticket due to the lack of email. After further prodding I was directed to an upper lodge where the wait was only 45 minutes. Arrived at 9:30, didn't get on snow til sometime after 11. This could have been avoided with one simple 30 second interaction that I tried for HOURS to try to make happen before the day of. Communication is terrible. Website is awful, tried updating my information online to try to head this off as well, made an account, tried looking up my purchase, said nothing was under my email, went to my profile, it hadn't added my email address even though it was what I signed up with. Tried to add email and address information to website, it errored out. Tried several times over multiple times, same error. The mountain? Is alright, if you like taking narrow cat tracks crowded with 100s snowboarders slowly hopping along like frogs on quaaludes. Couldn't rate the rest of the mountain because even though they had almost 4 feet of snow in the week prior to opening day they had 2 lifts running which essentially serviced the exact same terrain. I have never felt more comfortable trying something new and it was 100% based on the team member's attitude. Everyone I spoke to was so helpful and friendly including Rylee, Mike, and much more! We came for a day in an unseasonably warm January! You can't blame the resort for weather, so understandably many trails were closed. Even with a base layer of 13, my boyfriend (an advanced skier) had a great time. Everyone who works here is super friendly, especially those working in the gear/rental shop. I took one of the group adult ski classes and everyone I interacted with was extremely patient and helpful! This is a great option they offer with your lift ticket. I saw another person mention that the rental process was quite confusing for beginners and I would agree with this. Even my boyfriend, who has skied multiple resorts, noted that it was a bit hectic. It may be that this is because there was a never ending long line to get rentals that wraps around the building, making it confusing to get around and know where to go. I definitely recommend getting there as soon as possible to get rentals since it took about 45 minutes to get through and we got there only 15 minutes after the rental shop opened, and the line grew longer by the hour. The food is gas station quality with resort level prices, but I wouldn't really expect anything different from a ski resort. If you come during the week, you can't beat the prices. We wouldn't spend a weekend lift ticket price to come again, but at $50 a person including rentals, you can't beat it. read more

Much help that is when it expires in April and lift tickets are already double what I paid because I bought so far in advance and used their Black Friday promo. Terrible customer service from SnowBowl. No I don't want my $69 resort credit to go towards a FRACTION of a purchase I'll be making to come back next week. I visited AZ Snowbowl on Saturday 7/19, for the Sunset Gondola and dinner. Emily was our server and she did an excellent job. We arrived around 530pm, had a cocktail which was very good. Something with peach, lemonade, and ice tea. Again, Emily was fantastic. The dinner was very good. We order the pork chops as well as the asada steak. However, I came here last year, 3 or 4 times, and the food last year was much better. It was NY Stk and a different pork chop dish. But again, this time dinner was good, but not as good as before. We rode the gondola around 7:15 pm and watched the sunset until almost 8pm. All the staff were great at their jobs. Customer service has been perfect every time I have been there. I thought this was going to be a rinky dink little mountain resort. Well I was blow away on the elevation ,Base elevation: 9,200 feet. Total vertical rise: 2,800 feet.Lift served elevation: 11,500 feet thats an insane long run. Boy did my legs feel it after a few runs. Ashley was working the outside bar she was on point. The service was amazing!.everyone I met was super cool. I had an issue with the food but it was handled so quickly by management and staff, it was very nice. Overall typically I have a really good time at flagstaff. All the staff is super friendly and the food is pretty good for a slope food. Had to give it 4 stars this time because of the abuse of power that I encountered with ski patrol. It was my first run, and even before I started I came up to the middle of lodge and saw a girl laying there with her friend because she got hit by someone who was wreck-less. so fast forward to me getting off the lift for the first time, I was suddenly stooped on the cat walk aggressively. I stopped because maybe o dropped something, but then found out I was being accused of hitting the girl and running off... after I explained to them this is my first run and I literally saw the girl after she got hit that it's physically impossible for it to have been me. Plus I would own up to that. Another snowboarder stopped who saw me get out of the car and literally agreed with what I was saying and the 2 ski patrols kept saying how that I was the one that hit her and they needed my ski pass. After again explaining it wasn't me, they made me give them my pass to scan and threatened that if it wasn't my first run that they were shutting off my pass and banning me... I personally think this is extremely unprofessional and no way to great paying customers who come frequently who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG. They could have handled it way better and not been so aggressive and rude and acting as if I was lying. Of course my pass didn't get shut down but the way that I was accused really left a bad taste in my mouth the rest of the day. Thinking I was getting targeted for something I didn't do... This place sucks. My son and husband got there for my son to learn to snowboard and the conditions were very poor. Drove all the way from the valley, about three hours and had to turn around and come back. So they went back a few weeks later and were charged $500 freaking dollars for two tickets-for my younger son who was just learning and my husband was teaching him and never even got to snowboard himself. $500! Never again and never will I recommend this place. Why did he pay? Because my son was looking forward to it and drove all the way from the valley again. Seriously that's highway robbery. read more

Played at Snowbowl to escape the Phoenix heat Nana isn't used to being in AZ during the sweltering summers. So she and I took the kids on a day trip up to Flagstaff and Snowbowl. Phoenix was about 112° for the day and we dropped 30-40°at the top of Snowbowl! After lunch in downtown Flagstaff we headed up the mountain to Snowbowl. All four of us rode the Gondola up ($18 each). It was a fun and relaxing 10 minute ride 2500 feet up. Nana and Rori sat at the top watching the gondola because you could definitely feel the extra effort in breathing at this elevation. Jace and I climbed an additional couple hundred feet up the steps for an amazing view. As the clouds cleared, we could almost see the Grand Canyon! The highlight for me may have been using the "highest toilet" in Arizona. We rode the Gondola back down. Nana and I grabbed drinks at the bar and watched the kids play. We bought the kids each a 3-activity pass ($30 each). Activities to choose from are the tube slide, bungee trampoline and rock climbing wall. While I don't have experience at many resorts, Snowbowl will always have a special place in my heart as the place where I skied for the first time. I think it's a great spot for beginners and/or for a weekend trip from Phoenix. More advanced skiers may pine for the slopes of Colorado, but Flagstaff is snowier than many expect. My fiancé preferred our days later in the season when more runs were open. When I first started, I appreciated that the bunny hill has a magic carpet, not a traditional lift. The ski lessons for beginners are also nice. My first ever day, I had a lesson with Dan to start me off and I'm so glad I did. Buying lift tickets in advance can help cut down on the cost of a weekend, as does renting gear at Ski Pro instead of on the mountain. I would also recommend not eating at the lodge. Their hot chocolate hits the spot on a cold day and it's easy to order online, but it's better (in my opinion) to pack other food or time your trip to avoid lunch there. The only other negative spot is the bathrooms, which deteriorate over the course of the day. All in all, I would recommend Snowbowl to any Arizonan who wants to go ski or snowboard. read more

We were referred to go back to guest services for a refund. Waited in line again for 30 more minutes with a special needs child only to be told we had to wait again to see if the gondola would work again, if not, we STILL WOULD NOT GET A REFUND!! I've been going to AZ Snowbowl since college and I've had a lot of fun each time! The latest trip was no exception and for the first time at this location, I took a 2 hour lesson at the Snowbowl School. The lesson I received from Sarah C. was the best I've ever had! She explained a bit about her background and experience and why she was so passionate about being a ski instructor and it clearly showed throughout my lesson. She explained things perfectly from drawing graphs in the snow to describing how it would feel for us on the mountain regarding stance and posture. I also really enjoyed the drills we did to improve our technique whether it was quick turns under the chairlift shadows or finishing the turns and carving with long wide S shapes. I would definitely take a lesson again with her and the Snowbowl Ski lesson team! We also had to change our schedule twice because of schedule conflicts and swapping times was a breeze. Kudos to everyone here because while I noticed the slopes getting way busier with the growth of transplants in Arizona the experience is still attentive and fun especially compared to lines and traffic at Ikon resorts like Mammoth. I also appreciated the digital meal ordering and ticket pickup which helped reduce the amount of waiting on the mountain. read more

Several good runs here. Excellent place for beginners and beginner-intermediates. Beautiful views. Limited number of runs and chair lifts are slow. Many of the trails were closed for seemingly no reason even though it's a holiday weekend (president's day). Thursday was not busy at all, no lift lines. Friday was busy, the lift lines moved quickly but with limited number of runs many of the runs felt crowded and unsafe. It felt as though many of the people here lacked basic skiing etiquette and created dangerous situations. Lift lines were unorganized and chaotic at times. We did the Summer activities at Snowbowl that included: the Gondola ride to the top of the mountain, a tube slide, rock climbing, and a bungee trampoline. We had such a blast and it was so refreshing to get out of the Phoenix heat and enjoy some cool mountain weather (without the snow!). The Gondola was my husband's and my favorite. The views were spectacular and we even saw a family of deer on the way down the mountain! Our kids' favorite item was the bungee trampoline. They had never done one before and had so much fun. The employee that helped us with each activity was super nice and really took her time with us to help us enjoy each activity. We also had some drinks and food. The Prickly Pear Cider was really good and refreshing and the pretzels bites with cheese were phenomenal! I will definitely keep this place in mind for future hot AZ summers as a great place to escape to! read more

Absolutely terrible staff. It took them an average of 1 minute and 17 seconds per customer to give them their food. I know this sounds like it's a short amount of time, but when the foods ALREADY ORDERED AND READY, it shouldn't take more than 15-30 seconds to hand somebody their food. Watching the employees, they were randomly running around like chickens with their heads cut off, with absolutely no idea where they were going or what they were doing. I saw one of the employees spin around THREE TIMES for literally no reason, just to grab a Mountain Dew that was literally right in front of them. Speaking of the food, it's insanely overpriced and low quality. They charge $10+ tax for a singular low quality hotdog they got for a few cents. The pizza was the actual worst pizza I've ever tasted, the chicken was bland, and the fries were dry. The chips are priced at a huge 3 dollars a bag. A skier hit me on the way down the slopes (I'm below them so I have the right-of-way) and cussed at me. I decided to be the bigger person and keep going instead of fighting them, so ski patrols reaction was to chase me down, scream swear words at me, and tried to take my pass. Apparently I was supposed to "go check if they were okay" after getting ran into, cussed out, and when I was on the verge of fighting them. The only reason I'm not banned is because I walked up to the guy on the ground with ski patrol, and when they were talking to him I boarded away into tree line and got away. One of the most expensive and longest board waxing I've ever seen in my 10+ years of snowboarding. Another employee who was currently on break smoked a joint on the gondola with us, and he just ignored us when my friends and I told him to stop. A friends snowboard was stolen. Another friend on a different occasion had to stop somebody from stealing their board. Bathrooms were disgusting and unsanitary. This is a place everyone will go to once or twice, and then never again. None of my friends or family will ever be returning, and any time we hear somebody mention it we'll tell them of our horrible experiences. I can divide this experience into 2 parts: the mountain itself which I give 4 stars and the service which I give 1 or 0 stars. On the former, the conditions were fantastic, except for one major ski run which was completely icy and flat and everybody was on their butts. This should have been closed, or groomed. But definitely not open. There was a slowdown fence just before you got to Grand canyon Express ( I think). The right side of the fence should have been blocked. I chose this path and it went into a ditch. No signage. Just a drop off. Completely idiotic. On the latter, the staff do a poor job making sure the 6-person chairs are full. 2 or 3 people is normal, while there's a 10-minute line behind it. Just silly. Secondly, nobody is keeping people from blocking the entrance to the lift line. It is complete mayhem with these idiots standing in front of the entrance and blocking skiers. Maybe a sign or two or a staff member would be a good idea. Thirdly, they are still using their covid era food ordering scheme which requires you to scan a QR code and order from your phone. This is very painful to execute from a tiny device ....and impersonal. If you order a hamburger from the outdoor grill, it comes with zero lettuce, tomato, onion. How much did I pay for this? A lot. I will never eat there again. This is a money machine for you and you're treating us like idiots. read more

Never am going because they just want your money! I'm sure it has nice snow, IF YOU CAN GET TO IT! There's so much snow, so often that the roads shut down, and worse, people don't know how to drive and die. I tried going up and almost got caught in a 20 car pile up and was told I'd die if I tried the side roads. When I called to cancel the tickets because the roads were closed the whole weekend, they only offered to extend the credit. Why would I want to go to some half ass resort, that costs the same as Colorado, and risk dying on the way up? No thank you, I'll take my business elsewhere read more

It's great coming up to Flagstaff from the valley in the summertime to enjoy some cooler weather. Part of the fun for us was riding the chairlift at Snowbowl. Then, somebody decided to make it "better" by offering strictly gondola rides. Sure, why would you want to ride an open chairlift and feel a cool mountain breeze and the scent of pine trees when you can pack a few people into a glass box and smell each other? Family was vacationing at Camp Munds when we heard about the gondola ride so we looked up tickets Wednesday night and saw Wednesday and Thursday advertised as $18. $66 is a little steeper than we'd expect to pay 2 adults/3 kids for a 20 min ride but we planned on moving activities around to do it Thursday evening. When we went to purchase tickets Thursday morning, the price had jacked up to $39/person making the family total now $135. Not even worth considering anymore and want everyone to know their false advertising system. read more

I went skiing at Snowbowl for the first time and had a blast! I booked a 2 hour ski lesson and my instructor who was awesome! She took her time with me and I was able to go at my own pace. We started at the bunny hill where we spent most of the 2 hours. Then I moved to the other steeper bunny hill. By the end of the day I had gotten the hang of it and was able to scoot around side to side. We grabbed a bite to eat mid day upstairs at the restaurant. I got a quinoa bowl and fries. Both were delicious. There are many different levels of slopes for beginners all the way up to super advanced skiers and snowboarders. It's strange for some people to know it's snow in Arizona which it DOES!!!! It's real snow here in Flagstaff and is a cool experience snowboarding even though I don't know how to but they have a place so you can start getting the hang of it, once I got it I jumped to the big slide lol. read more

We came here in September, just as the pandemic protocols were loosening up. The plan was to take the ski lift up to the top of the mountain, and then hike down. Sadly, it was not to be. We were able to ride up to the top, but the lift didn't stop. It circled around and took us back down the mountain. I won't complain too much, as the lift was a super smooth ride, and the views were stunning! We even saw some elk on the mountain! Because of the pandemic, groups were sat on every other lift seat, which was nice, as we couldn't hear other people's conversations, and they couldn't hear ours. If you're not a skier, this is a great way to experience the northern Arizona scenery in a relaxing way. 2/2023 read more

Had lunch in the lodge. Food was good but the service...outstanding. Emily was our server. Delightful, attentive, efficient. Well done!

Take the gondola ride in the Summer/Fall. Even on a cloudy day it's beautiful. There are chairs to sit and enjoy the views at the top of the ride at 11,500ft. You can continue on higher by climbing the trails. read more
