Customer service was trash. I thought I'd get the full help from experienced staff at a brick and mortar store instead of trying to buy my first wig online. I bought off the rack without any education or tips or tricks other than her telling me that it's human hair so I can treat it as such. After 3 months it started matting under the nape within minutes of putting it on. For $3500 a human hair wig should not look like it's never been washed or combed. It looks so terrible after 6 months of wearing 3-6 hours a week. I feel like I got ripped off. read more

We went to find a wig solution for my sister's alopecia. Our salesperson had no suggestions and no real interest in helping. We needed the expertise for wig color and cut that other clients seemed to be receiving. She couldn't really answer questions and didn't seem to "know hair". My sister came specifically to purchase a wig in this shop. Such a disappointment! Luckily we found a different shop with an expert. I went here yesterday to purchase a wig. I didn't have an appointment and was helped in a timely manner. The lady who assisted me found a wig in the back that I ended up loving. She combed it out and parted it for me and I went to the register to pay. Here is where they lose two stars: the lady turns the tablet around where there is a tip option and says "If you want to leave me a gratuity." For an almost $1,600 wig! That she didn't even offer to trim! People are coming in here with cancer, alopecia, and trichotillomania and you want them to TIP for an extremely expensive item they'd ideally like to not be purchasing?? That is so disgusting and completely ruined the experience for me. On top of that I discovered plenty of split ends on my new wig that they should have offered to trim FOR FREE because I'm dropping so much money at their store. Now I have to find somewhere else to take it for a trim since I'd feel way too uncomfortable coming back here. read more

Izzy was very helpful until after she rang up my $1195 topper. My hairdresser was with me and asked to see another wig with short hair on me. Izzy put that wig on me and walked away. We were ignored by Izzy after the sale. I have 3 business and my hair dresser has 2. We would never walk away or ignore a client after we made a sale. Customer acquisition is extremely important to your business. A lot of women buy more than one wig. I would have given 5 stars if that didn't happen. It did not sit well with either one of us. Giving them five stars for answering their phone promptly and being friendly on the phone. This is a popular place! I visited this store several weeks ago on a Thursday or Friday at around 3:30 PM. It's a very cute little shop in the historic area of Scottsdale. They were very busy and closed at 5:00 PM. I walked around in the store for about ten minutes looking at wigs. I already had one in mind, that I had seen on their website and had written down the name of it, so was prepared to buy. I was getting tired physically, so didn't want to wait. They had many employees (well staffed), but each employee was focused and working with a customer. A very cute place and a large selection of wigs and hair extension pieces. They were poor quality and hurt her head. She was very self conscious about her hair loss. AWB greeted us in their beautiful shop and made us feel comfortable immediately. They asked us about needs and started out helping Us find her wig. They styled and fussed and listened until she had just what she needed. The wig she choose was low cost and completely comfortable. It looks fantastic on her and we left with it the same day. Which was perfect because we have a wedding coming up. I picked one up too. I have medium length dark brown hair (no hair loss) So I went blonde. They found the perfect style and color for me. It was about twice as much as my moms. Blown away by my experience here. First of all, I am a 21 year old man who was diagnosed with cancer last year and lost my hair from chemotherapy. I loved my hair and although I knew it would eventually grow back, I was not ready to be bald. I went to a few different places and called around to see if anywhere would have something that might work for me with a shorter style. Most of them didn't carry anything that would realistically work on a man with a shorter haircut or just didn't have men's wigs at all, and many of them made me feel unwelcome and almost like there was something weird about me wanting a wig. I think there is an assumption that because I am a man, I shouldn't care about hair loss since plenty of men are bald...etc. Well, I do! And the feeling of having cancer at a young age and already feeling out of place is definitely worsened when people make you feel like there's something wrong with wanting a wig. I stumbled across this place and called ahead to hear they had options for men, and I went in with somewhat low expectations. Stefanie helped me out, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was so welcoming, so helpful and eager to help me find something that actually looked realistic and fit my style. We tried on a LOT of wigs, and although they were all amazing quality and looked good, one of the last ones she brought out was THE one. Stefanie also helped cut and style the wig to perfection which made all the difference. I cannot get over how much it really looks like my hair did before I lost it. I was very disappointed. I knew nothing about wigs. I am 72 and didn't ask the right questions. The girl was nice but my hair dresser told me later that she sold me a wig to big for my head. I was not told they came in different sizes. They are very expensive so beware of not getting the right size. I thought going to a shop would make sure i got the right wig to fit me. I did talk to your stylist and she said to come by. I did go by the following Monday but the shop was closed. I live 130 miles away so it is difficult for me to get there. My head is 19 3/4" around that part fits ok its the cap that sticks up on my head in a point. If i pull it down to fit it goes over my ears. I wear glasses so it cant be over my ears. read more

This review is my experience in trying to become a customer. I am seriously in the market for purchasing a wig (or 2). There were a few customers being attended to. What made me decide to leave is the lack of customer service. Even when it is busy the most important aspect in keeping customers is to greet them and assure them they will be attended to. Not one sales person made eye contact. I was not the only person waiting for help either. Therefore, I will take my business elsewhere where I am not treated as invisible. I finally got the nerve to go in and ask about toppers and bangs. I am a longtime Scottsdale resident, but this was a major step for me. It was a demeaning experience. I guess they sized me up and decided I wasn't going to spend a lot of money, or so they thought. That was a wrong assumption on their part. So they made me wait. They were afraid to ask a client's husband to get out of the chair I needed to sit in to access my needs. The blonde (Yeah right) staff was scooting around trying to look busy in the meantime. I was told by some senior lady in my chemo session to go here and they'll bill your insurance. Well, not so fast. You'd think because I worked in a healthcare facility that I'd have the coverage for what is deemed in the medical codes as a Cranial Prosthesis? Nope, no coverage. It was a Saturday so I guess they couldn't check the plan. Monetarily I was out 500 bills for a synthetic wig. Yeah, no locks for love for this woman, maybe only just kids. And, no real hair. I just got home after buying my first wig. I of course read all the reviews but still had no idea what to expect. I felt anxious, a little scared and honestly intimidated. But after a pep talk from my husband in I went. We were immediately greeted, given the run down on the store and told someone would be with us as soon as possible. All consultants were with customers so we looked around and chose a few styles we thought would work. I was offered a private room but decided to face m baldness in the salon. Kimberly was sweet and understanding to his worries and fears and helped him find a piece that made him feel like himself. She helped his find a piece that made him feel confident and comfortable going out and being in his own skin. My first time at Arizona Wig Boutique will not be my last. I have super fine hair and not a lot of it. I was sick of wearing hats all the time to cover up my hair. I went into this store only because I wanted to see if they had any cool hats. I find some really cool hats, caps at wig stores. My head is very small, like that of a child, so it is hard for me to find hats that fit and stay on my head. Moving forward - Leah had greeted me and asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. I wasn't initially, but I did ask if she could show me something for someone who's hair is baby fine and could give me a more fuller look. Well was I surprised at what was available. She brought out a hair piece (not a full wig) that was so similar to my style but longer, fuller and with great color. She attached the hair piece, cut and styled it. Leah picked out a really great hair piece that gave me just the right amount of body / fullness for my hair. While it was a little pricey, this was well worth it and what is more important is that is made me feel great. Leah was very personable and professional. Repeat clients and the service keeps getting worse and worse. Kim was not in. Receptionist was slow to check us in. Then the stylist all of a sudden had to do a bang trim. Well and hour later she still would be about 15 to 30 min longer while the inexperienced receptionist tried to help us. Every time we have been in bought at least two wigs. They do pick and choose who they want to wait on. I had Leah say to me I am done after bringing out several toppers. Is there a limit? Are you expected to take something you don't like. You better find that perfect wig or topper quickly. And they didn't try to even fix them a bit when the put them on. Very poor customer service. read more
