I went to Arlington Automotive on Airline Rd to have an oil change and rear differential service that had been recommended by them on a previous visit. After inspecting my vehicle they recommended I replace the belt and front brakes. I approved to have both services completed. The next day, my brakes failed on the interstate because a caliper bolt backed out. The repair took two days to complete , and there was no apology or compensation offered. Very disappointed in both the workmanship and the lack of accountability. read more

If there was a negative rating I would select a minus 10. I've had three experiences with this place since the new owners took over. All the good mechanics have left, the tell you one price and when it comes time to pay it's quite a lot more. I am a disappointed long-time Arlington Automotive customer. Once Arlington Automotive transitioned under new ownership, I feel the quality of service has diminished. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and air filter installation. I got it back and drove off the lot and immediately heard a loud drone coming from the front end. I found a parking lot, stopped, popped the hood and inspected the engine compartment. I found the tech/mechanic replaced the air filter but didn't snap the air filter housing together sealing it. It has metal bands which snap together. You don't even have to use a special tool, just fingers and thumbs. Oh yeah, the oil filler cap was installed upside down (writing upside down). No big deal, but details count. My prime motivation for this review is my mother took her vehicle to Arlington Automotive for a complete FREE tire rotation under warranty and the tech said he couldn't do it. She purchased these tires from Arlington Auto. Why? The reason given was, "Tech was unable to rotate tires this time. The wheel lug nuts are swollen and won't come off with proper size socket. Tech would have to damage lug nuts to remove them and did not want to leave customer stranded." I took my mother's car and rotated the tires myself with HAND TOOLS, two jacks, a 22mm deep well socket, breaker bar, and torque wrench in the driveway. Take a look at these lug nuts, which ones are swollen? Arlington Auto, please work on bringing back the quality of service that many, many customers relied upon in past years. read more

Had to make an emergency stop here during a road trip because something metal was dragging from the bottom of our car. even though they were understaffed they came out to our car and removed the metal piece so we could continue on. read more

I think they are under new management again. Always been reasonably priced in my past experience's, but was quoted 3 times as much as Raleigh was willing to charge. Excellent mechanics at very fair price! My front brakes seized and I had to have my car towed. Because I was blocking a busy street the police wanted it towed ASAP. Being from out of town I had no idea who to go to. Since Firestone was close I chose them. They told me my front brakes needed to be replaced at a cost of $991. I'm know mechanic but I do have a decent feel for when I'm being taken advantage of. I checked with my mechanic in LA and he said he would charge $640. Average cost according to Repair Pal for my car nationally is $714. I called a friend who called Arlington Automotive and they said $650 if it was complete replacement on both sides. They did the work at $535 because the hoses didn't need to be replaced. Car runs great again and I couldn't be happier! If I ever need additional repairs when I'm in the Memphis area I wii definitely call Bryan! read more

My go to for my car needs. Customer service is incredible. Staff is always friendly and very helpful. They always ask if I need a ride to work and have been great about dropping it off at my job when I haven't been able to pick it up. I called up here Monday to see if they can fix an electrical part in my car and they said they could. I dropped it off the same day and they told me they would call me the following day but never did. I ended up contacting them Thursday to see if they started and when I got on the phone they told me someone just started to look at it (took them 4 days to even look at my car). They told me they would call me in the morning to let me know but I had to call them instead Just for them to tell me they can't fix the problems that I have with my car because it's internal/electrical . Then they proceeded to charge me 75 dollars for a diagnostic when I already told them what was wrong with it before I brought it in. If they would have told me they can't do electrical work while I was on the phone with them as I explained the problem maybe I would have found the appropriate mechanics to fix my car on time for the weekend. Now all my plans have been canceled or delayed simply because of miscommunication and manipulation towards a 16 year old. I've never seen an auto shop that does business like this . read more

Shout out to Arlington Automotive. This is the way a business should treat their customers. I was thinking I needed a front brake job on my truck and needed the tires balanced and possibly rotors turned due to the vibration when braking. I got the call an hour later. All my truck needed was balanced tires. All pads were good and rotors fine. Instead of doing unnecessary work and charging for it, they balanced my tires and called me. We were driving through and out alternator went a mile down the road. We were able to park here and when they opened the gentleman instantly got our chevy in to look at it. He sent his guy to the warehouse early to get the alternator and even offered to have one of his guys take the 4 of us somewhere to get breakfast as we have no clue what is around and no transportation. We were warned that the amount of work for the alternator would make for a long repair and were contemplating whether we should rent a car or a hotel room for the night, but was pleasantly surprised when we went to check that they would be finished by 1230. Even better they finished early and we were back on the road before 12! There is a little waiting room not the most comfortable chairs and CLEAN bathrooms with some amenities for the ladies such as tissues, lotion etc. Even though the breakdown, price of repairs (which is about the normal) and wait put us behind for our tripwe were fortunate to break down near this wonderful shop, great technicians and pleasant sales/support staff! read more

Repair air in vehicle but only repaired the front air, additionally the compressor they replaced stopped working after 1 year. They are great for minor oil & tire work but that is ALL. We're a small town & typically people only want to point out the good but I only went to them based on reviews, then after my bad experience I found out from other locals they also had a bad experience but won't post about it publicly because of our small town! Wow, people need to know. Now I've had to take to another repair shop AND Im out 2x the cost of repairing air in my SUV, thanks for waisted $$ AAutomotive! read more
