I highly recommend this florist - not just because of the beautiful floral arrangement I received from here but because of something special Sang Park, owner did. The flowers I received were from a dear friend that has been diagnosed with cancer. I had crocheted her 8 'chemo hats' - one for every day of the week and one to sleep in. To show her gratitude, she chose this florist to send me flowers. However, where I live was outside of his delivery area, however, he was so touched by my friend's story and my 8 hats - he DROVE them to my house PERSONALLY!!! That - is going above and beyond!! If you really want to impress someone get them an arrangement of Moody Blue Roses. They last so long and I've never smelled a rose as fragrant at those. read more

PLEASE READ THIS PART before the rest of my "regular" review. Long story short, I messed the date up, and when AHF went to deliver, my wife was not there. They called me up, were super cool about it, and said "no problem, we will go tomorrow when she is there". They did not charge me extra. They didn't just leave the flowers there like a lot of other places would have. Instead of nickel and dime me, they instantly earned me as a lifelong customer. My wife just went back to work after having our first child, so I wanted to send her flowers on her first day back, as it would be emotionally hard being separated from the baby for the first time in 3 months. Have not sent flowers many times in the past, but I'd rather help a local business than 1800 Flowers if I could, so I found Arlington Heights Florist, as this was my first time using them. The flowers were even prettier than in the online picture! They were arranged perfectly and delivered to the correct hospital floor. My wife loved them, and the other nurses thought they were gorgeous. The delivery charge was cheaper than most other florist places I also checked out. read more

Over the phone, I gave him a long list of random colors and ideas to try and incorporate into the two pieces, not at all sure how he would make it work. I also needed them for the next day. I started out having the worst day in recent memory. As I was getting ready for my very first Daddy/Daughter dance I couldn't find my cuff links. My mad search was fruitless. I ran out of my Chicago apartment already late to catch the El downtown to grab the Metra to Arlington Heights. Of course the El was running slow. While waiting for the transfer at Lawrence I realized I would never make the train. I ran for a cab. With hardly enough time to make the train I hailed a cab and begged the driver to get me to the station in time to make the only train that would get me to Arlington Heights on time. I should not that my wife was getting ready to make a mad dash across the loop from her work at International Art Jewelers, on Chicago's Jeweler's Row, to meet me at the station to give me a loaner pair of cuff links. The cab got me there with minutes to spare. My wife, breathless, met me and threw me my cuff links. I made the train. One thing finally went right. The only thing that was wrong was that I had forgot the corsage I had bought for my daughter at home. I had told her about the corsage and was crushed that I would show up empty handed. On the train I Googled local florists. The only florist I could walk to after getting off the train and still make the dance was Arlington Heights Florist & Gifts. When I walked in I could see their counter was literally covered with orders and that the business was obviously going crazy. This should be expected given that it is the day before Valentine's Day. When I asked if I could get a pink and white corsage for a Daddy/Daughter dance they said "when do you need it?" I said "Now." They said "Sorry. We are way too busy." I said I understand and prepared to walk out. Then the very nice guy said "Wait." He went and spoke to a very nice woman, who I think was his mother but I could be wrong. They said something that I couldn't hear. The guy said it would be ready in 15 to 20 minutes. I went and got a cup of coffee. When I came back the corsage was ready. It was perfect. Flowers are not necessary for survival. They are, however, essential to happiness, in this case essential for my happiness to give to my daughter on this very special day. Arlington Heights Florist & Gifts understand what flowers are about. They went out of their way to make my special day perfect. The corsage was great and the people were amazing. This is the epitome of local business doing things right. These people deserve your business. I know the next time I am buying flowers in Arlington Heights they will have my business. Now, when going to a flower shop I do expect a nice variety of flowers to be offered, I also expect for prices to be reasonable. I didn't find it here. The selection was very limited, pretty much roses, only 10 pink roses were in good enough shape to be taken home, but wait for $5 per flower, because 'Valentine's Day is coming', I was told, and that's why the price was so high? Greedy! I could have found a much better selection at a grocery store for half a price (next time I am going there)! OK, so I did negotiate and paid less and I got a free greeting card, but I will not rely on this store again. I am a HUGE fan of this place and Sang Park, the floral designer/owner! Some history: I previously had a standing order with bouqs.com. For $40/wk I was supposed to receive a "medium" sized bouquet every Tuesday. From bouqs.com. Fully half of the time did I receive an arguably small bouquet. Unacceptable. I went in search of a local provider and I found an amazing florist in Sang and his shop, Arlington Heights Florist! I walked in with an unusual request: a weekly, small scale order of a medium bouquet, delivered weekly to my office, with little design direction except for vase size. Sang totally and without difficulties accommodated my specific and unusual request. I described the vase that the flowers would be in and he totally got it. He asked good questions about my flower preferences and his bouquets have nailed it every week. Every week, on Monday like clockwork, I receive an absolutely beautiful, full, seasonal and fragrant bouquet of flowers delivered to my office, that is perfect for my vase and perfect for me. When I was on vacation for a week, I let Sang know and we took the week off, no problem. When his delivery was a little late, he communicated the delay with me and it was no problem. The flowers LAST! His bouquets are healthy, good flowers. My bouquets last through the week and often, some of the flowers last even longer. Many weeks I can't bear to throw out the good flowers and end up with two sets of flowers on my desk. The price is RIGHT. Bottom line: on a weekly basis I get amazing flowers at a fair price, with an amazing customer service "kicker." Would absolutely recommend! read more

Today they delivered the flowers that i complained about yesterday. They were very apologetic. And at first I felt bad for complaining. However they had the same roses in the arrangement that were dying when they delivered the day before and the entire bouquet died two days later!!! read more

My boyfriend ordered a floral arrangement from here for Valentine's day, received a confirmation and everything, and the flowers never showed. He tried calling eight different times throughout the day to see what was happening with his order and couldn't get through once. There was a busy signal each time. Really, a business with no voicemail?! His credit card was never charged, but that's still pretty poor. Yes it's Valentine's Day, one of the busiest days of the year for a floral shop, but the complete lack of communication is unacceptable. If they couldn't fill the order, they should have contacted him. Instead, I waited around much of the day for flowers that never showed. Clearly not surprised or pleased...not that I blame him. My husband and I got married last year on August 28th. Arlington Heights florist was located near our church so we decided to go with them, and I am glad we did! They were AMAZING! Everyone there was so nice and helpful. My colors were orange, royal blue, and gold. So for flowers I wanted Orange Gerbera flowers. Arlington Heights went above and beyond! They made a simple bridesmaids bouquet look stunning. My bridal bouquet was so amazingly beautiful. They even delivered my flowers on time and at the correct location.
