I was a COVID bride, which meant that I had many changes to my original plans and ended up having two wedding celebrations. Rebecca was so helpful and kind throughout this entire process. They can't figure out exel to give accurate updatable quotes, and mystery charges started appearing on our bill late in the game that were never mentioned in the contract or any conversation we had with her. I found A Perfect Petal on Yelp for my August, 2013 wedding. After making appointments with several florists, I found that Rebecca was the most helpful and detail-oriented of everyone I met with. I felt really out of my element at the appointment, because I know almost nothing about flowers. Rebecca made me feel so comfortable by showing me photos and examples on her iPad so that I could really visualize how things would look. My mom and I had purchased lanterns for centerpieces, and my dad made several boxes to use as well. Rebecca took all of it and completely made my ideas and vision a reality. I booked A Perfect Petal for my wedding on November 8, 2014. After looking at reviews on wedding florists, I knew I'd have some researching ahead of me. I do not know much about flowers or wedding flowers for that matter so I needed a reasonably-priced, professional who would be able to give me beautiful wedding flowers. My first meeting with Rebecca was actually not for my wedding but for my friend's wedding. It just so happened that Rebecca had time left over after the meeting to talk with me. She was very knowledgeable and suggested many ideas to the both of us, since we were not really sure what we were looking for. She has done wedding flowers for a while so she really knows her stuff! And it showed. After my friend decided to book her for her wedding, so did I. We were not disappointed! The flowers were absolutely beautiful. Rebecca was thorough and went over every detail with us - from the toss bouquet to the flower girl petals. She was very organized and guided us through the process. My friend and I knew that we were both in good hands with her. The price tag for this place might seem higher to some people but I am telling you, it is worth it in the end when you see your flowers! Rebecca will work with you and suggest ways to put cheaper flowers into the bouquets if needed. She is very creative - just tell her an idea and she will go off of it from there! My bouquet was very classic - rounded, all red roses, stems wrapped in an off-white ribbon (to match my dress), 2" open at the base, while my bridesmaids had a round bouquet with red and dark pink roses with a ballet pink ribbon (to match their dresses). Of course, we had the parent flowers as well. We also rented a runner for the aisle and had Rebecca do some altar arrangements and a hanging arrangement for our wedding as well. Rebecca and her team transformed the Childerly Chapel in Wheeling into the Winter Wonderland that we had envisioned. When they come in, we'll add some more photos (besides cell phone pics). I was referred to APP by a family friend who used Rebecca in the past. And I was not disappointed! Working with Rebecca was a great experience. The 2 meetings we had were brainstorming sessions that led to a total collaboration of what I wanted and what she'd recommend based on past experiences. She pulled up Pintrest and Google to show us individual flowers we were considering using. My mom and I had a blast planning our centerpieces with Rebecca. I had a birch tree from my childhood home that had recently been cut down and I wanted to incorporate that wood into the centerpieces. Rebecca took my ideas and ran with it. She made the birch look even better than I could have imagined when paired with the flowers her team did. Rebecca also went above and beyond searching out the perfect gold ribbon for the centerpieces and my wedding cake. I gave her my budget and she was happy to work within it. When I needed to cut a few things, she had no problem with it. I received a detailed invoice and always knew what the deadline for changes was. In the end, the flowers were beautiful and just what I wanted. One note of advice - Rebecca uses floral foam to keep your flowers looking fresh and full all day. One of my bridesmaids did a jump off a bench during our pictures with her bouquet in hand and lost a few flowers out of it. We stuck them back in best as possible and luckily for us it was toward the end of pictures, but if you have the whole day still ahead of you, it's probably best not to be jumping with the bouquets. :) read more

I was referred to A Perfect Petal by a friend of mine for my wedding on 11/12/11. Working with Rebecca was truly a delight. My first meeting with her was great. We brain stormed, she gave me suggestions without making me feel like she was being pushy or not letting my creativity come through. I was very impressed and wanted to work with her after that meeting. However, I decided to meet with another florist to compare with. Well the second florist meeting was awful and I ended up walking out after 10 minutes and gave Rebecca a call and hired her. She did my boutique, my bridesmaids' boutiques, groom and groomsmen boutonnieres, parents and grandparents' flowers, flower girl flowers, a remembrance boutique for my mother, these amazing big flower balls that sat on top of vases, flowers inside of vases, everything accented with candles and our gorgeous chuppah. At our first meeting, I showed Rebecca a picture of a chuppah that I wanted. It was wooden, and had flowing crystals all around it. She showed me a picture of the only chuppah they had. I didn't like it so I was just going to rent it elsewhere. A week later, Rebecca informed me that they were building a wooden chuppah (like my picture) and they could put the crystals that I wanted on it as well. Obviously, I was thrilled. It turned out so beautiful!! That is just one example of how Rebecca goes the extra mile for her clients. Over a week after the wedding, my boutique and honor boutique for my mom looked brand new still! I went to a couple florist before I met with Rebecca at A Perfect Petal. She was the only one who I felt extremely comfortable with and absolutely loved! She sat down with us and had us look at different flowers and listened to what we wanted. We didn't know our budget (since we have never done this before) so Rebecca gave us a quote on exactly what I had in mind. The price was on the higher end (because I wanted no greenery in my flowers) so she offered ways to reduce the cost. She was awesome about it! She sent me two different options on how to lower the cost. I did a traditional court house wedding the Thursday before our wedding that was on Saturday. Rebecca even made a flower arch for Thursday that came out absolutely beautiful! The delivery for that and for all of the flowers on my wedding day was extremely smooth. I was in heaven when I saw my bouquet!!!!! AH! Everything was perfect. When I walked into my banquet hall, again I was amazed. Every single thing I asked for was there. During my first consultation she was very open to all of my ideas and willing to work within my budget. She did an amazing job taking my ideas and making them affordable to me. She did everything for me, from all of the bouquets and boutonnieres to our center pieces, ceremony decor and aisle runner. Rebecca was very flexible to work with. Since our wedding was in downtown Chicago and we needed our flowers earlier in the day for photos before she could get access to our venue she let my dad and grandfather pick them up so we did not have to pay an additional delivery fee. I also had purchased some candle holders that I wanted to use and she was nice enough to let me drop them off a few days before the wedding and set then up and take them down for me at the venue. We hired A Perfect Petal for our reception and ceremony flowers and they were so beautiful. The family still talks about them and our wedding was four years ago! We had these swirl petals down the aisle, gorgeous flowers on the gazebo and these huge gorgeous trumpet vases aligning the aisle too. The trumpets doubled as flowers on some of our reception tables and we had a hard time preventing people from trying to snag them at the end of the night! We also did smaller flower and vase arrangements with cool lighting. Those people could and did take. We just celebrated our anniversary and I wish I could enjoy what we experienced that day every year. read more

Went for a corsage for my 6 year old daughter for a daddy daughter dance. It looked nice and ready on time, but they charged me $25. It was a total ripoff for such a tiny thing. The problem was not the size, just the price (the tickets for the dance itself were less than $20!) I bought it anyway because I didn't have time to get another, and it was for my daughter. Rebecca was an amazing florist for our wedding, we are so glad we found her! Our first time meeting her was an awesome visit. We were used to meeting with a ton of different vendors at this point in our planning and those meeting weren't the most fun. With Rebecca you could tell her full attention was on us and our day! She treated us like we were already her clients and it was so warm and welcoming. At first we literally sat down and she went through pictures of all different kinds of flowers just to see which ones I liked/ did not liked. She took notes the whole time and asked about what styles we liked and if we had any pictures we wanted to show her. She took our budget into mind the whole time as well! If something was over our budget she would tell us and suggest something that looked similar but would be a better option for us. Based off of the fact that A Perfect Petal was in between the location of our reception hall (Arlington Heights) and the church (NW side of Chicago), we decided to check it out. Flowers were a lot more in general than we thought they would be, but compared to what my friends have paid other florists in recent years, they were very reasonable. Rebecca worked with our budget and helped us come up with what we wanted that we had difficulty describing! Rebecca was one of our favorite people to work with, and I feel that she is a very genuine person, wanting to help make people's wedding as beautiful as possible....she even gave us some pointers regarding table arrangements/other things that were unrelated to flowers/making any profit from us. When I was meeting with other florists, I was very overwhelmed as I did not have a perfect vision of what I wanted. I knew I wanted lots of colors and lots of different flowers, but that was about it. Rebecca from A Perfect Petal walked me through every possible flower in the colors I wanted and we talked through everything so there were no surprises. Rebecca was definitely a great find! We knew we loved her after our first meeting. It was relaxed and comfortable, we looked at pictures of bouquets and my pinterest pages and really brainstormed ideas. She showed us pictures of specific flowers so I knew exactly what she was thinking of and she knew how to stay in our price point. I only had a vague idea of what I wanted initially, so when we met again closer to the wedding my tastes had become more specific and very different from what we had originally agreed upon. Rebecca went with the flow without complaint and continued to make suggestions to give me a beautiful bouquet. Both mine and the bridesmaids bouquets were gorgeous! My only complaint was the silk sprig of lily of the valley i'd requested as part of the groom's boutonnieres really wasn't lily of the valley, but they were still beautiful (had to go with silk because it was out of season, otherwise there were no silk flowers). A florist acquaintance of mine looked at our pictures and commented on how beautifully Rebecca had handled the apparently delicate flowers we had chosen.
