I contacted Buss Flower Shop on Thursday, 2 days prior to my wedding. I got married on Saturday March 29th, 2025. I knew it was last minute and was absolutely panicked since originally I wasn't planning on utilizing any flowers. I spoke to Jan Buss, the owner of the flower shop. I explained my situation and she was extremely understanding and explained that she would help me out. I wanted a small bouquet of Calla Lillies. It turns out that the Calla Lillie is one of the most popular flowers for a wedding bouquet. Of course I didn't realize that, I just wanted something simple. Jan said she would reach out to her supplier and asked if 5 long stemmed Calla Lillies would be alright. I said that it would be perfect and I just wanted it to be tied simply with a sage green ribbon. I also wanted 5 white rose boutonnières. She gave me a call back within 5 minutes and my request had been satisfied. I was completely relieved. The best man and my fiancé picked up the flowers the morning of the ceremony. Rob met Jan and couldn't say enough about the shop and that my flowers were put together so quickly. They were absolutely beautiful. I felt that it was a great value as well. Oh my goodness what a lovely and wonderful flower/ plant shop. This quaint and cozy nursery sits on a corner in libertyville owned by a lady and her dog. My coworker and I walked in for a last minute plant pick for our boss's anniversary. The last wasn't too knowledgable about plants but definitely had an eye for aesthetics and placement. We chose three plants and a basket and the rest was history! While the price was a bit much, I feel it was worth it to make our boss smile as she adores plants. Concept conveyed--bright colors, Spring, maybe some roses, avoid certain scents due to allergies. Our florist sorted, got approval, added, explained and created a great bouquet. Worst flower arrangement ever. Especially for 70 bucks. I am so so so disappointed. The flowers look dull. Dead and NOT even close to what I asked for. The green leaf which isn't even a flower, has brown dead marks on it and the other two look like they're beginning to wilt. Not the place for homecoming or prom flowers!! I ordered 3 weeks in advanced and when I came to pick up my nosgay and boutonnière they told me they couldn't find it. Today I received delivery of a mixed flower bouquet from Buss Flower Shop. This is a close-up photo of one of the dozen purple roses that were in the bouquet. The rest of the roses were in similar condition. My best friend had these flowers sent to me, and she would be heartbroken to know the condition in which they arrived, so I will not tell her. But looking at them makes me sad, so I will be pulling the roses out of the bouquet. I have never used Buss Flower Shop, and now I never will. read more

They failed to deliver the arrangement and did not contact me to discuss other arrangements. I didn't want to just order flowers online because the online services & pre-arranged bouqets don't take into account what the florists have in the store. So I called in to see what Buss Flower Shop could do. I was hoping for same-day delivery, but knew that might be a stretch since I called late into the morning. They were really nice on the phone, explained what they could create at varying price points and delivered same-day and at the time they said they would. When I called back to confirm delivery, they said they had delivered and shared that the receptionist would be sure to get it them to the intended recipient. This shop is a sham and its owners and employees lack any professional courtesy. I charged almost $100 to deliver a flower arrangement to my granddaughter for her high school graduation. There were a couple of problems: (i) it was delivered a day late (and the flowers were already dying), and (ii) the arrangement was nothing remotely similar to what was promised. If you want a legitimate floral arrangement that is sourced from the finest suppliers that have flowers that you didn't even know existed, this is it. A little tip - this is where the Bears players go to get their flowers for their wives and girlfriends. Terrible customer service!!! Will never go here again. Be prepared to not get what you want and instead what the owner wants to give you. Ordered a corsage for a dance, only request was all pink flowers and navy blue ribbon. Didn't care what kind of flower, just pink. Even showed her a picture of what the girl wanted. When I picked up the corsage it had all white flowers with a navy and baby blue ribbon and wristlet. When we ordered she said if it isn't what we want they could fix things but trust her. So when we didn't get what we wanted and asked for it to be fixed, the owner was so incredibly rude. Making every excuse as to why it didn't have pink flowers in the first place or like somehow it was my fault that she didn't fulfill the order as requested. I ordered my corsage a week in advance so its not like I was coming in last minute and had to use what she had in stock. She reluctantly added in a few (3) smaller pink flowers like she was doing me a favor or something. But in the end it still wasn't what I wanted. I know its just a corsage, and probably doesn't really matter , but when you pay $50 you should be able to at least get something close to what you ordered and at the very least the color of flowers you want especially with advance notice. As a designer and business owner you should focus more on pleasing your customers instead of yourself. read more

Went in Saturday morning for the first time and ordered flowers for a dinner party I was hosting that evening. By 4pm, the three beautiful arrangements, plus eight dainty bouquets for each place setting were wrapped and ready to go. The ladies in the shop were so incredible helpful, making sure the understood exactly what I wanted, and incorporating my 9 and 10 year old into the process, explaining a little bit about the flowers, which the kids loved.
