I bought an electric trike there. It didn't shift well and they also had not attached the devise that holds the extra cables so I had been using duct tape to keep them from dragging on the ground till they fixed it. I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance for the 'free in the first 6 months' tune up because I live on Whidbey Island and It's time consuming and expensive to get to this shop. When I went to the appointment they said there were people ahead of me [walk-in's that appeared to be buying a trike] and that I would have to wait. Fine. I had an errand I could run. I came back 2 hrs. later and they hadn't touched it. The kid mechanic didn't seem to have a clue what to do with it and the owner initially wasn't around. When he showed up he tried to do his 'christian' thing on me because I was not happy. I ended up taking the trike to my neighborhood mechanic. I will never do business with this place again. read more

The first time I took my electric scooter there I was told it would be done within two days but, they get so busy fixing minor things like replacing a flat tire during the day that, they don't have time to work on the actual customers who have made appointments. Someone with an appointment should be over any fixes that a person would bring in. To say the least, I will be using them again as I've blown out another tire. I'm hoping this time I'm given an actual wait time and an appointment does not take 4 days longer than an original quote to have the work completed. I did leave a Google review the last time and hopefully the owner listened to hire more bike techs. read more

I was looking for an e-bike, and I found a couple, but because I have a balance problem, I tried a three wheeler with two tires in front and one in the back. I did not want a three wheeler with the big basket in the back. Kristi Berg was able to find one that will be an e-bike 3-wheeler with a full sit down and absolutely a fun bike to have. This is why you "shop small": last year we bought Maddie's bike from Arlington Velo Sport (our local bike shop). ‍ This year we came back for a few adjustments and the owner of the shop took Maddie around the parking lot and gave her a quick lesson. Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Arlington Velo and in particular to Luke for awesome customer service and going above and beyond. I had a flat that I was able to partially fix, but my cartridge malfunctioned, so I had the tire up to less than 30 psi. Luke met me 2 miles from the shop, ready to fix the flat. We went back to the shop and since my tires obviously lacked puncture resistance ( 3 flats within the last weeks) I right then and there had them put better tires on. They managed to do it in less than 15 minutes. I was glad to be able to give them my business since these guys are awesome. read more

Went in to get some info before buying my first bike and was greeted by Holden who was very polite and knowledgeable. I went in during the coronavirus pandemic which was the worst time possible to buy a bike since everyone and their mom had the same thought and the shop inventory was nearly gone but he was nice enough to recommend one and look up when they were expecting some to come in. He took down my info and called to tell me when it was in and ready. When I went to pick it up I was helped by Kristi. She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed - even installed a bottle holder and kickstand before I left. She also came out to the lot and helped me fit the bike in to my little 4 door car. She taught me everything I needed to know before leaving with my first bike and really made me feel good about my purchase. KRISTI WAS AWESOME! I am so dissillusioned.... We came in march 31st at 330 to 350...in the afternoon. No one helped us after the initial we will be right with you... 3 people in the shop... One on cell phone... One with customer... One ignoring us... We came in to purchase 3 recumbant trikes....and the clothing and accessories The terra trikes were exactly what we wanted and starting at 2500 that's a significant enough price to want to sell 1 not to mention 3. We were willing to spend up to 10,000 dollars for our family. Now I would not recommend them to anyone.... A very large purchase was lost today buy seriously poor customer service. read more

This is probably one of the worst places I've ever dealt with. My husband bought a very expensive bike from them because Trek stores didn't have any in stock. They sold the bike with a bent rim and promised they'd replace it once they could get it in stock. After months of waiting for a rim, and my husband having to constantly calling them for updates, they got a rim in stock, the manager left a detailed VM saying which rim was in stock and ready to pick up. Once we got there (2+ hours from home) the employee called the owner and he didn't even want to give us that rim. Thankfully they're lovely manager left a VM saying which rim they had for us. Once we dealt with that they told us it wouldn't fit the current cassette. The very kind employee called the manager/owner again who said there was no way they'd give us the cassette to fit the rim that they verified would fit my husbands bike that they sold to us damaged. My husband had to buy a brand new cassette, even though this problem was known by the store. The manager said that rim was not for my husband, even though her VM said otherwise. The owner was extremely rude on the phone and even though they sold a damaged bike, and bought a rim that didn't fit my husbands bike, wouldn't budge on giving us the cassette or even splitting the cost with him for one that would fit the rim. Now about a month or so later, the rim is leaking at the valve and multiple spokes. Please don't ever go to this place. Luckily we have an amazing local Trek store in Tacoma that has been so helpful with everything, so we bought a new bike from them for myself. My husband said he would've rather have waited for the bike from the Trek store and would've paid more to not have to deal with this poor customer service read more

Arlington Velo Sport is located near a central parking area in downtown Arlington. At that parking area, there are some city facilities, and male and female bathrooms. There is a statue of a bicyclist right near the bathrooms, and behind you a short lawn of grass that leads you directly to the Centennial Bicycle Trail of Snohomish County. After riding the Centennial Trail, I remarked to my girlfriend how nice it would be to have a bike shop nearby. This was on a Sunday, and to our surprise in this bicycle-friendly neighborhood, there is a bike shop open on Sundays. Mark Everett is the third owner of Arlington Velo Sports, and, and he and his crew are very generous about doing extra work, for free, when they had our bikes in their shop. They never exceed the estimate on the bill, and if there is a mistake, they fix it right away. This seems like a modern and trendy shop that is devoted to the healthy benefits of bicycle touring and racing rather than just being a working-class fix-it shop. If you like to ride the Centennial Trail, there they are a couple blocks from the trail! I would give them Arlington Velo Sport five stars, except I don't understand why such a modern and trendy bike store would not be open Saturdays! read more

I brought in a couple of good quality, but well used, kid bikes. I was promptly given a free estimate of what it would take to get them tuned up and ready to ride safely again. The estimate was comprehensive - they really looked over the bikes before I left and the final price did not exceed that estimate. I was told when the bikes were scheduled for the work (less than a week out), and that I would receive a text when they were ready as well as an approximate time they would be ready. Everything was spot on. I received a text the afternoon the work was expected to be complete and went and picked them up. Very organized and efficient. Friendly too! read more

Mark is an amazing owner! He answers emails right away and is always going above and beyond in being helpful and friendly. He stayed late on Christmas Eve because UPS was late delivering a package that I had ordered from his bike store. Mark said he would wait as long as it took for the package to arrive. What a nice guy and someone who really cares about his customers. Mark even helped load the package in my mother's car when she picked it up for me. Mark has been very helpful even after the sale and delivery of the Burley bike trailer/stroller. I like to support local business' and Mark has earned my business for all my outdoor needs. read more

These guys are basically as good as it gets. Every time I stop by Velo I've had a great experience. Everyone is nice and helpful but also super knowledgeable. I always feel like I actually learned something about the problems I've encountered when they work on my bike. They've regularly helped me on the cheap, without insisting on doing more work or replacing more parts than they need to. I feel totally comfortable taking their advice when it comes to upgrading parts, buying new ones, or just keeping things in tip top shape. Usually I do my shopping online so I can really find a niche product that is as good as I could afford but Velo offers the same products for the same prices. Even if it is a little out of your way or there are closer shops you could visit, you'd be doing yourself a huge service to go here instead. read more

Came in at 6:00 P.M. to ask about truing up the wheels on my downhill mountain bike, Brian said he could do it right away. I noticed they closed at 7:00, so I ran home and got my bike. He took care of my wheels, answered a bunch of questions I had about my bike and he spent extra time adjusting my brake calipers. Stayed 15-20 min. after closing time to get my bike ready for Stevens Pass bike park opener. Great guy and great service. Felt good to give my business to a local shop. I went in looking for a bike for a family member and wanting to support a small local business but left disappointed. The used bikes seemed a bit overpriced especially when it is for a growing kid that doesn't always take care of their things. The crude cardboard signs posted in the store warning customers to "Stay back because the infected are among you" are offensive and not welcoming. The signs are reminiscent of those made by transients (no offense to the homeless) however, it would be more acceptable if they had been printed and worded more appropriately as your staff is just as likely as anyone else to "be infected". I noticed that there was a tip jar sitting on the counter and wondered why on earth a bicycle shop would need a tip jar. In a time when so many businesses are struggling I wondered why this business isn't trying a bit harder. I, like many people, expect more from a small business but I left this one wanting to take my business elsewhere. read more

This bike shop is fantastic. I've brought my Cannondale here more than 10 times in the last 2 years for repairs and general maintenance. Every time Mark or Delano are great to work with. They've helped me adjust the bike to better fit my needs, and explained my options each time. They are very reasonable with their repair rates and have always done a great job of getting my bike fixed quickly and most importantly, for the cost they estimated or less. I visited Velo for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I think I found my new "go to" bike shop. Their customer service very much left an impression on me such that I'm willing to drive from snohomish to Arlington for my cycling needs. Mark (I think that's his name) helped me with a new set of tires, but the timing in which i went in his shop wasn't the best in that there was a local bike race going through town, and he was getting slammed with questions from others. Mark took it all in stride, giving solid help to everyone walking in the door, and got my tires changed and me out the door quite quickly. I was out about 10 miles into the McClinchy Mile bicycle ride when my back tire went flat. I ride Specialized Armadillos, about the toughest tire made, so I was really surprised my tire went flat. I spun the tire slowly around looking for a puncture but then noticed a spoke had come loose. I spun my tire around again and sure enough the wheel was out of true. Game over. I don't remember running over anything hard. Within seconds, a sag wagon pulled up and gave me a lift back to the start in Arlington. A mechanic, who happened to be Mark Everett the owner of Arlington Velo Sport, was still on station there. He pulled the tire off and found the offending sharp metal object that was still embedded in my tire. I loaded up my bike and drove down to his shop just a few blocks away to get fixed up, new tube and wheel trued. He pointed out truthfully that my back tire was at the end of its useful life. Also, the nipple had cracked through on the loose spoke for whatever reason. While he was at it he adjusted my somewhat loose rear hub, adjusted and tightened the play in my brake levers, and replaced my worn rear brake pads. And I got a new rear tire, a Panaracer RiBMo PT, a good commuter light touring tire suitably puncture resistant. Mark was so helpful through the process, explaining what he did and how I could keep my brake levers just tight enough to not rattle. A big thank you to Mark at Arlington Velo Sport and to the volunteers at BIKES Club of Snohomish County who sponsor the McClinchy Mile ride. I will be stopping in again at Arlington Velo Sport anytime I'm in the neighborhood and will seriously consider my next bicycle purchase from them. They're a Trek dealer, which is an excellent bicycle. read more

I used to buy tires and tubes online but even with my Amazon prime membership, Velo sports is comparable, if not, cheaper. I discovered the Arlington Velo Bicycle shop over 12 years ago when it was in Stanwood. I wanted to replace my childhood bike (yes I am that thrifty) with something newer, like more than 2 gear positions! At that time different people owned it. I had a great experience but felt sorry for myself that I had to go to Stanwood for anything related to the bike. Poor me, I live in Arlington. One day when riding on the Centennial Trail I saw signs about a bike shop in Arlington. Lucky me I thought and went to find out who it was. To my great joy, Stanwood Velo was now Arlington Velo. The ownership had changed but not the outstanding service. I bet the previous owner vetted prospective buyers to make sure the quality of customer care stayed the same. Two weeks ago I was sitting on a bench at the north end of the Centennial Trail when a group of bike riders came by. I only noticed them in passing because I was visiting with someone. As the group left, one of the riders stopped to talk to me. I did not recognize him because I have never seen the staff from the bike shop in cycling gear. The rider/store manager recognized me in all my gear. Amazing people! Then he shared with me that the shop has Sunday afternoon rides from the store to the north end of the trail. Now if the weather would only improve on Sunday because the last one was a downpour, darn. read more
