Been coming here for their rotisserie chicken, one of the best I've tried. I'm picky when it comes to meat, so I was impressed when the meat didn't tasted weird. The chicken here is usually small, well seasoned and cooked until tender. Their lunch special is $7 which includes 1/4 chicken (dark or white meat), fries or rice (yellow or white) and a salad. You can't beat that deal. When seated the server will bring you some roasted corn kernels with their special avocado mildly spicy sauce. Would recommend this place to anyone. read more

I'm not one to usually do reviews but I was left disgusted by the lady packing the food. She sneezed in her hands and proceeded to touch my food and bag without washing her hands. I confronted the lady and asked her for a new bag. I thought she would at least wash her hands but instead she gave me attitude and rudely continued to packed my food. The lunch special here is a great deal! It is offered between 11am and 4pm! Came here as a group of four and each got a lunch special with half a Peruvian chicken, fries, a fresh avocado salad, and a drink. Service was good. Our waitress was very friendly and approachable. Tables were clean and pre-set and had a paper on it rather than placemats. (Not super sustainable, but clean) It wasn't super busy here on a week night, but it wasn't quiet either. We were able to get seats immediately and there was no shortage of service here. I had leftovers from my lunch that I was able to bring home with even more green sauce to go! My partner and I came here yesterday because I've been coming here for months on my own and I wanted to show him Peruvian cuisine since he'd never been. It was busy and I understood. We ordered a whole chicken to share, with large white rice, small beans and a large order of fried cassava & tostones. The girl comes out with the chicken and beans but puts it at the wrong table. When she comes to us and asks if we ordered/received our food she realizes she gave our chicken and beans to the wrong table. We watched her as she went back to the table and noticed that the table had already picked at our chicken, she apologized to them and the worst part is she thought it was okay to give us the food that that table had already breathed and picked on. Extremely inappropriate. I understand things happen when it gets busy. But to think it's remotely okay to give someone who's also paying money to eat there what felt like scraps at that point, hell no. Another girl came and retook our order and still had the nerve to ask why we sent back the chicken that was already picked on from another table. Food eventually came and it was ok. Beans lacked so much flavor, rice was a bit mushy and the chicken we had gotten seemed undercooked and just overly soft when you bit into it. I'm not one to salt my food if I don't need it but I found myself having to salt my food so many times because of how it lacked flavor. Not appetizing at all. The only things that were tolerable were the sauce with the yucca which even then seemed slightly cold. I really wanted to support this business since it seems family owned, Latino etc and I'd been coming for a while now and never had an issue till now. Don't think I'll be back...should've just gone to my childhood restaurant, Mi Casa which is a few blocks down by 115. Way better, even if it is a Dominican restaurant. Tonight I ordered 2 specials of quarter chicken with yellow rice and salad. 1 the food was frozen (mind you I live a block away) 2 I received white old rice, it definitely wasn't fresh, 3 the salad was a mess. I asked for extra dressing and they didn't provide that. The food was a complete mess. I called and they didn't have a manager on hand, unbelievable! They said that they'll resend my order but this time correctly. Then I get another call and they state that my food was delivered 45 mins prior to me calling for the complaint which is false. The service is TERRIBLE! They definitely deserve a negative 5 star. Ive been a loyal customer and I've excused there prior mess ups but this was the last straw. Beware future customers! read more

Flavorful! The chicken is always moist! They also give great servings of food. I always order the half or whole chicken with rice & beans. I also order the salsa Criollla. It's vinegar based with onions and cilantro! Adds a great kick. The prices are reasonable, and again, you get a lot for your money. This is my favorite Peruvian restaurant! The staff are courteous and very efficient. The restaurant has great space for individuals that want to sit and dine. It's also very clean and upkept. I WOULD NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! I live near by and decided to pick up 2 chickens for dinner. The cashier advised it would take 10 mins. I had been sitting waiting for over 20 mins when another customer came in and ordered a chicken to go. Within 10 mins the gentleman received his order and left. Already annoyed I get up and ask the cashier for my order and she says another 10 minutes. I would never come back here to wait 40 mins for a simple order. Thank god I didn't order sides otherwise I would be waiting until tomorrow. Side note: A customer came in. He had placed an order over the phone. This is a fairly good restaurant that deserves all stars. Come in on a Saturday afternoon. Nice bright windows in the front with plenty of nice light going into the tables. Location was pretty good by the train but came in by car because was raining. Ordered the chunks of beef with onions tomatoes French fries mixed together. On the side I got beans and a drink. The food was great and plenty. Very yummy. Simple restaurant for your daily and casual dining. This isn't a luxurious place but for its category deserves all of the ratings for the great thing I came in here for: good food with a reasonable price. I have been eating takeout from this spot for a couple of months now....and I need to write a review on it. I get take out at work and never have been to the physical location. I will go and check it out and update this review accordingly. The reason for my love with this place is two-fold.... 1. The chicken fried rice. 2.The Green sauce. Now you might be wondering....what qualifies James as an expert on these matters? I have personally eaten this type of food for years now...on top of that, I have also sampled food from every Peruvian spot within miles radius of my job for years now. And I mean...every spot. lol While they were all good for their own reasons....Armandos got me and my co workers hooked. We order from here 2 or 3 times a week lately. I also have eaten tons of fried rice from different restaurants representing different parts of the world. (I should get a list going of best fried rice spots.) The Chicken Fried Rice is some of the best Fried Rice that I have had.....hands down. Plenty of huge pieces of chicken with a little bit of chives. Add the Green Sauce to it and you will fall in love like I did. I crave it at times randomly ..... and I think that you will too. Unfortunately food was not good. Green spaghetti with steak was barely passable. Green sauce in the pasta tasted strange, like some unknown ingredient was added. Steak was small but ok. Papa a la huancaína was just bad and they neglected to add the boiled sliced eggs to it! Heresy for that dish! Yellow sauce was watery tasteless and barely yellow and for $7??!! No good. So This has quickly become my go to. The way I ended up here is pretty funny. There was road construction or something and the only streets I could take led me to here. I had to pick up dinner and saw this while waiting at the light and decided to try it. I love Peruvian food. Anywho, I picked up chicken, rice, and beans, the usual. My bf and I loved it! The green sauce is spicy and creamy, I think we just love this place for the green sauce honestly. Since then we keep having cravings for this place and have been back quite a few times. We've done sit in and take out. Sit in, the place is nice, pretty average. Waiters friendly. Pretty good prices too. One downside, the beans, its more runny and watery, I don't mind it too much but if you like you're beans differently, just keep that in mind. Also, When doing take out, you get like one container of green sauce and it's 25cents for more. I don't mind paying more bc we honestly loveeeee their green sauce, but idk maybe they should give at least two or three minimum. Will be back for sure. I remember recently I made 2 orders for delivery and while placing my order I had to repeat myself 3 times! And guess what?! They got my order wrong!!!! Like completely wrong. Lol. I cant believe I lived in this neighborhood for over 10 years and last night was first time i actually dine in. The restaurant is clean and plenty of space. It was not crowded which is surprising considering how great food was. We ordered ceviche, grilled fish rice and beens, seafood rice, and half chicken french fries. All orders were plentiful and delicious. I enjoyed a bit from all orders. When you visit dont forget the red sangria. First impression is "where are the fruits". Dont let that bother you. It was best sangria ive ever had. I had two cups and i felt very nice! ;). Large cup, no ice strong and its only 4 dollars. U cant beat that! The price is right. We all ate well had few sangrias and it all came out for 75 dollars. The bill included tax and gratuity. I recommend visiting this restaurant. Love this place. First restaurant the we ordered from when we moved to Richmond Hill, and we order at least once a month! We always do pickup/delivery, we've never actually gone and sat inside. We usually order the combo #2. A whole chicken, rice, beans, hot dog & french fries, green plantains, and an avocado salad. So much food that it's enough for dinner one day and the next. Some times we replace the green plantains for sweet, and we've almost never had a problem with it. We have recently tried different appetizers each time - the cow heart was really good, and the Papa A La Huancaina and fried yucas were tasty too. One or two times they have messed up/forgotten parts of our order when they've delivered it, but always have fixed it no problem. Great place! Just found it thanks to Yelp as I was driving home with the kids. People are incredibly nice, friendly and warm. Unlike many other places where they sometimes snub non-latino customers. Service took a little while but hey they were busy and I want fresh food so I'm not complaining in the least. Took food home. Food still tasted great after a twenty minute drive. - Chicken was excellent! Juicy and tasty! - Fried Yucas (as suggested by other Yelpers) was great and the garlic dipping sauce was perfect for them! I picked size SMALL and the order was enough for all of us to try and enjoy (family of four). - Tostones were good too but cooked slightly more well then I would of wanted. Still tasted great and the same garlic dressing dipping sauce made them fun to chow down also. I suggest getting the SMALL because we ordered a Large and there was still about half an order left when we were full and finished. And I haven't figured out a way to successfully reheat tostones so they had to get tossed. - Yellow Rice was good too. I like the peas and small carrots and such in there. It might of been slightly dry but slathering it with green sauce made me eat way more then I should of. - Green Sauce was very tasty and excellent on the chicken and rice. It is a little less hotter then the spicier counterparts out there but had a great fresh mild spicy taste with the thick consistency that I like. Another thing I really liked about Pollo Rico was the price was lower then the other Pollo spots. The extra green sauce alone, which others Pollo spots are now charging offensive prices for extras, was a very fair 4 for $1 extra at Pollo Rico. Definitely worth a try. read more

I typically get a chicken combo and share with my fiancé..the combo #2 is plenty for the both of us and we have plenty of left over for our lunch the next day.
