It came out juicy, tender and flavorful, even more so when I added the extra jerk sauce that came on the side. Chef Cani told me that he used the back leg of the pork. Too bad Jerk On The Water does not sell any alcohol. I would have paired the pork with an ice cold bottle of Red Stripe Beer. This is a take out place with some outdoor seating overlooking the water. There are four tables outside, each of which has three chairs. CAVEAT EMPTOR: CASH ONLY AT THE WINDOW OR PAY BY CARD AT THE KIOSK!!! It's been a minute since I've ordered from Tropical Jerk but yesterday I was starvin' marvin and felt too lazy to cook dinner. So I headed on over and ordered straight from the window. Leon, who is extremely enthusiastic and just down right a cool cat, greated me at the window. I was torn between jerk shrimp or jerk chicken, but went with this recommendation based on how substantial the chicken portion is. It was ready in only 15 minutes and once I got home, I quickly dug in. I knew I could probably save about half of it for lunch today, but it was just so darn delicious that I devoured the entire platter in one sitting. Haven't tried them yet? TERRIBLE. Online says they open 10..... got there at 11..... guy said they aren't open till 12.... Okay so we waited walked around and came back .... The guy is watching us stand at the window ignoring us. So we went around back he tells us he won't be open another 30 minutes he needs more time to make food !!!! WHAT?????? I was on the nautical mile with a friend and we wanted to get a small bite so we decided to try the mac & cheese at jerk on the water and it did not disappoint! It was super cheesy and creamy well worth the $6! It was made to order so when it came out, it was piping hot. They have outdoor seating on the side of the restaurant overlooking the water. Good chicken but the issue is they think giving 4 legs with a half jerk chicken order is acceptable. What chicken has 4 legs? I visited Jerk on the Water this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Not because I thought it would be bad but because us Caribbean are finicky with how we like our dishes and can be very particular with our home foods. Well, I'll be the first to say; it was great and so worth it! Staff was so friendly and welcoming, with frequent check ins on how we were enjoying our meals and if we need anything else. Came here last Sunday with my mom after a long day out. We ordered the Jerk Salmon and the Brown stew fish. They said the wait would be 25 minutes, but we wended up waiting a good 45 minutes for our food and it was so expensive. $73 for 2 meals that we could get for no more than $40 at Tropical Jerk or Golden Crest, or that I could make myself honestly. The waiting area outside is really small and if there's a crowd, you're not getting a seat. We had to take our food back home even though we got there before the crowd but because the wait was long we lost a seat. The saving grace was that the food was pretty good. I think the stew fish was better than the salmon. Also the chef was nice as he'd seen we'd be waiting for a long time and rushed our food out. The staff was kind all in all. If it weren't for the wait and the price though I'd give the place a higher rating. read more
