Armando's work in impeccable!! When I saw his finished work, I broke into tears. I couldn't believe my reaction. His work is so meticulous. I had a broken stained glass window that needed to be removed from the wall in order to repair (window sash and all). My interior house had just been repainted and so I mentioned that to Armando, asking if he could do his best to keep the touch up work to a minimal. Well to my great surprise, not only did he seamlessly repair our window, but there was no touch up work to speak of!! I don't know how he did it!!! Armando is like an old world craftsman. He came to our home and on site fixed a broken piece of stained glass in a sidelight panel. He removed the panel and cut a replacement piece right there, and reassembled the panel, then put it back and caulked it. Like new!! This glass is no longer in production, but he miraculously found a piece, and left me with an extra piece if I have a future problem. His price was very reasonable, to boot. I had managed to splat my custom-made mission-style stained glass lamp shade into the wall, breaking several pieces of glass along with a bit of the copper foil edging. I called Armando about a decorative mirror that broke. The mirror glass was shattered and the colored class that surrounds the mirror and soldering were disconnected and hanging. Armando picked up the mirror from my house and did an incredible job at repairing it!! You would never know that it was shattered. Very positive experience - he was on time, polite and pleasant to talk with, wore a mask the whole time, took off his shoes in the house and protected the area in my office where he was doing the work. Armando is one-of-a-kind. I make a custom product that has a mitered edge on a piece of very thin glass. I called dozens of glass shops in the Los Angeles area, and none would work with such thin glass no matter how much I wanted to pay. Armando took one look at the glass, placed the sample piece on his diamond wheel, and in one try, nailed the angle perfectly. I've since ordered over 100 pieces of glass from him and he's been on time, every time. Also, his prices were quite affordable. I've been to Armando's shop five or six times now, and there's always a Tiffany lamp or some custom piece of stained glass on the worktable. He has repaired hundreds of very fine pieces of stained glass, and can also slump glass or curve or form glass in his kiln and do other crazy custom work. When I last visited, he was creating some very small, very thick, highly curved mirror pieces for a piece of antique furniture. I couldn't tell his repairs from the original. Armando is a true craftsman but also just a fun and reasonable guy to deal with. If you've been thinking about having some kind of custom glass made there is nobody better to work with. I think he splits shop time now between Northridge and North Hollywood. I only wished he was based out of DTLA like I am, so that it wouldn't be such a drive to pick up my glass. Next time I go there, I'm going to get some pictures. He can sand glass, cut glass, do all the leading and came work for stained glass, and has lots of glass on hand. After reading the many positive reviews of Armando and his work, I contacted him regarding a very small job (replacement of a single, cracked pane). Notwithstanding the job's small scope and his very busy schedule, Armando came over as soon as he could to assess the situation. He determined quickly that the damaged glass had likely been made in Europe and was very old, which would present some challenges in finding a replacement. Armando came through, however, after traveling down to Orange County to locate what turned out to be some perfectly matched glass from France. He and his son then expertly installed the replacement pane, which is now indistinguishable from the other panes of the same color. Armando also stuck to his original price estimate notwithstanding what was likely some extra work and was a pleasure to deal with throughout the job.
