After doing some research, I decided to give Lum's GMC a try for my engine recall, and I am so glad I did. From the very beginning, my service advisor, Shaun, was absolutely outstanding. His communication was excellent, he kept me informed throughout the entire process, and I genuinely felt like my vehicle was in good hands. Customer service like his is hard to find, and he made a stressful situation much easier. I do want to mention that after the new engine was installed, my Escalade ended up stranded on the side of the road because a technician had accidentally forgotten to reconnect a clamp on a reservoir. While that was certainly frustrating, what truly impressed me was how Lum's handled the situation. I called and left a message, and their team immediately stepped up. They arranged to have my vehicle towed back to the shop on a Saturday, quickly diagnosed and corrected the issue, and then went above and beyond by personally delivering my vehicle back to me because of the inconvenience. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but a company's true character is shown by how they respond when something goes wrong. Lum's GMC handled it with professionalism, accountability, and genuine care. Because of Shaun and the way the entire team took ownership of the situation, I have complete confidence in bringing my Cadillac back for future service. Save yourself the headache that we have right now. we have a car at the shop and we have to spend $11,000 to replace the transmission. The mechanics at three different places said that it coded with a bad transmission at firestone and at the dealership and at an independent mechanic. All of them independently said that this is a code that would have been showing months not days ago while at McMinnville auto sales. They sell lemons. The do not stand by their word. If you don't have someone go over the car, do not sell it.

These issues were diagnosed instantly when I stopped at a nearby shop on a test drive. When I showed the service rep the report from the mechanic, I was told they could not lower the price because they had already replaced the transmission in the car and would do no other work on it. When I asked to see the paperwork for the transmission service, they said they "could not find it" but they would get it and mail it to me because the shop that did the repairs was closed. While still at the dealership, I called the shop where the repairs had apparently been done and someone answered--so I handed the phone to the service agent. I waited while he walked next door to retrieve the paperwork, and when he returned he had a printout that said the shop looked at the transmission, stated the issues with it, and recommended it be replaced, but had no record of actually doing the work. The receipt was for a total of $125 for services provided. I would absolutely steer clear of this dealership. I lost a little faith in humanity yesterday in dealing with them.

I was assured that the oil would be replaced and gears inspected. I drove 600 miles, and lost my engine due to bad cam phasers. Upon test drive with a rebuild engine, the mechanic in Idaho reported metal shavings, and howling! It's still in the shop! I had specifically pointed the differential out as an issue. The cover was taken off, as new sealant noticed by the Idaho mechanic. They let me drive out with a serious problem, that could have left me stranded. Not kewl!
