First thing Friday morning I received a text from Shannon who helped me through the whole process making it an incredibly smooth and enjoyable experience. Went down on Saturday and picked up the vehicle. Shannon had reserved the vehicle for me which was above and beyond in my opinion. We test drove 3 cars and my Nephew finally made a choice, It was a GUARANTEED sale as he is already preapproved with his own financing, When it all came down to it they low balled the crap out of him on his trade in. Offer $6,000 with a blue book of $10,000, In my mind I was o.k. we can work with that as it's just numbers on a paper in the end. However all Customers need to be aware Mac Volkswagen has a one price guarantee that they seem very proud of, When I questioned this "one price guarantee" the salesman then proudly stated that they absolutely will NOT negotiate on the price of the vehicle as per the instructions of the Owner (or so I was told). Punctual Quality Service! I pulled up to the service bay 03/15/2024, and was waved in with a smile and greeted with a good morning and by name. It really helped me feel more comfortable and relaxed. I came in today because my steering wheel controls stopped working and the horn was not honking. This was my main concern. I had minor concerns with other things and I didn't have to mention anything to the service tech. When providing me with the results of the diagnostic test he also stated my other concerns, a loose bolt and my oil needing to be topped off. Which he said they would tighten the bolt and top of my oil. My clock spring in my steering wheel needed to be replaced, I was told it was covered under an extended warranty that I was eligible for and they had the part already. This appointment has been a stressor for me financially. So to hear it was all covered and not going to cost me anything was such a relief. I appreciate the support, knowledgeable staff, and professionalism. I highly recommend this service department for all of your Volkswagen needs. I would say the only thing to improve on is to have your receptionist know if you're eligible for the extended warranty. I scheduled this appointment earlier this month and was a no show to the appointment because financials were a barrier. Had I known it was no cost to me this could've been fixed sooner. read more

I am a young female student and came in when I had warning lights come on my 2016 VW beetle. I was told there was something obscure that needed to be replaced (causing overconsumption of oil) that was very expensive and not covered by warranty or extended warranty. After consulting family, we were skeptical. I decided to forgo the maintenance, paid the sleep diagnostic fee, and had my oil checked weekly at Jiffy Lube to see if my oil was leaking or being consumed too fast. Had high hopes when I was informed they sell at msrp. once they had the vehicle I was looking for I was told they had already installed clear bra and paint protection and it was a $2499.00 ad on. I later called and asked if my wife and I could come down and look at it. Mike told me it was on the showroom floor and they couldn't sell it until the next day as it had to have the clear bra and paint protection installed the following day. I said oh I thought it had already been installed, and I was not a fan of the paint protection. I asked if I could I purchase it with out those options. He refused and stated all their car had to have it to be sold. I called back and spoke with kevin the sales manager and was told the same story. We had decided to buy a VW Atlas and wanted to check out the Costco program. We live in Salem and this is the closest Costco authorized dealer. We filled out the form and waited for a call. It took 2 days, which was reasonable to me, for Mike to call. We were just leaving our local dealer when he did so and we stupidly decided to pop over to McMinnville (an hour drive) to get the price. Our reasoning was that we though the Costco price would be a no haggle price and we'd quickly be in and out with a price to consider. This absolutely was not the case. We got there and were immediately told how busy they were and handed off to (I believe) Tommy. I'll say there was only 2 other visible customers and they were together so I'm not convinced they were as busy as they said. We didn't need a test drive or anything as we had already done that so just asked for the price. We were, again, told how busy they are. No biggie. We had our one year old with us and it was getting to his nap time so my husband was diligently entertaining him while they took 20 minutes to come up with the Costco price. When they came back it was literally 1k off their advertised price. First, I expected a better experience from a Costco program. Second, I cannot conceive of a world (no matter how busy you are) where it takes 20 minutes to subtract 1k from a pre-existing price. I was so livid at what seemed to be a purposeful waste of our time that we walked out. It's also worth mentioning that their price, with the discount, was super close to the advertised price of our local dealer. So, we walked. 2 days later Mike called to see if I had any outstanding questions. I told him how I felt about our time being wasted and he responded in a cheery voice "sorry you felt we were slow, I wish the best of luck to you." I have mixed feelings about this approach. I'm not sure there's anything they could have done to save our business but it came off like they didn't care. On the other, I hate being harassed so I kind of appreciated him cutting his losses. In the end the luck he wished us worked. We bought the car at our local dealer for 3k below their Costco deal. All's well that ends well. read more

We fixed it he says and did a bunch of recoding she runs and drives for 3 day then dose it agine after they charge me 694 bucks. I call them back to see if they r going to fix it right this time and he says oh shur bring her back in and well get more eyes on this and look further in to it.so now I just spent all the money I had to work on the car and now after his crappy fix didn't work I'm out 694 bucks. Don't bother asking for their "best price" on their website. I took that bait on a new Atlas, and in the comment section clearly asked that they not NOT call my home. I wanted a "best price" emailed to me, but their website won't let you ask for a "best price" without also giving them your phone number. So, instead of entering a bogus phone number, which might have caused an innocent third party to be disturbed, I made the mistake of entering my true phone number - and clearly asked them to reply by email, NOT by telephone. I emphasized that I did NOT want them to call my home. A few minutes later, late in the evening, Michael Watroba called my home, waking and disturbing my mother who has stage IV colon cancer. When I did not answer, Michael Watroba then sent me a completely worthless email saying he needed "a few minutes" of my time - on the phone. Took my used Jetta (300k+ miles) there to have it given a "once over" before I took it on a long road trip. They were able to get me in right away. They did a pretty thorough check on it and even plugged a tire that they found a nail in for free! The guy in the service department was very friendly and answered my questions. They told me it would take about an hour to do the check and they were true to their word, I was in and out at about 1 hour exactly. The waiting area was so so, there were 2 leather couches and a large tv, but the cashier/phone answerer (not really what I would call a receptionist since we were in the back of the dealership separate from the sales floor) was right there so you could hear her side of the conversation. Fool me once... The service department is terrible. I made an appointment a week ahead of time for tires, lube and oil change and a general inspection (check engine light was on). I dropped it off the night before using the early bird slot. I called at the end of the next day to find out what they found and because I was curious why they had not called me with tire options. They gave me some options over the phone but did not have time to get them on that day but since there were no other recommendations and they could not do the work over the weekend, I said i'd go get tires elsewhere. I came to pick it up and the check engine light was still on. HOW DOES THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT NOT CHECK FAULT CODES AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS? THIS ISNT JIFFY LUBE! I purchased a brand new 2014 Jetta in October. The car salesman were very helpful and nice. But the Service Manager at the McMinnville VW Dealership is horrible. He has the worst customer service ever. He was not helpful at all and very rude to my husband, 2 year old daughter and I. He kept saying that our needs did not matter. There was a manufacture defect with our windshield and he refused to look at it or have someone come look at it to get it fixed, he kept saying the guy who does the windshield doesn't talk to the public or deal with them. Wow. He treated us like we were scammers when we are not. We are honest hardworking people. He is by far the rudest, unhelpful, jerk that I have ever dealt with at a car dealership. The fact that the lowest rating I can give for this dealership is 1 star makes me need to point out I'd give it a lower rating if I could. I broke down on the highway after another dealer didn't do a good enough job fixing my car and was towed to Mac VW in McMinnville. They told me I needed a new water pump and that they had "good news for the other dealership"... It wasn't their fault. The only offer for any transportation home (over an hour away) was "the number to a rental place." When I came back to get my car I got in it to see the "Check Engine" light still on!!! I walked back inside and asked that it be fixed. It took him 2 seconds to hook it up to a diagnostic machine and tell me it was something they obviously should have figured out since it had to do with the previous problem. It then took him 5 minutes to fix. The next day I was emailed a survey that I responded to VERY honestly.I explained that there was no way someone fixing, moving and washing my car hadn't noticed the indicator light and that it was insane they let it go without making sure everything that needed to be done was done. Especially knowing I broke down due to the other dealership doing the same thing. I had spent over $1300 in 4 days, been stranded in McMinnville and had to find someone to pick me up and then drive me back to get my car... They didn't care at all. Minutes after sending in the survey I was called by the man who handled my service. He proceeded to yell at me and say that light hadn't even been on when my car was brought in!!! He ended the conversation by telling me to "never come back to his dealership, ever, ever, ever..." I hung up during the fourth "ever". They don't care about people or quality service. Called McMinnville VW and talked to Frank Utah and told him the whole situation. Frank listened (which is rare for car salesman to actually listen to what your needs are) and was not only very knowledgable, but very kind and friendly the entire time. Beware of Shady business practices. They agreed to buy back my lease at the end of December and took my van onto their lot. I took the word of manager Bob Shearon, that they would purchase and make my final payment. Instead they left my van in storage for over a month and didn't do the purchase until February. When questioned on this, they claim to know nothing about the vehicle. If this is true, how did they end up buying it in February. Why would I pay for a car for the month of January and not keep it In my possession. They have cost me 2 months insurance, 1 month payment and a turn in fee. I was a two Volkswagen family, with a daughter who also wanted a beetle. With the treatment I received, I will never be with VW again. Now it's up to Better Business Bureau and a complaint to State Attorney General. There is definitely something fishy going on. read more

I purchased a vehicle with the promise that the issue found at the end of a test drive would be corrected.. a couple days after picking the vehicle up returned it to the dealership with the promise the issue would be fixed, strike two. returned the vehicle again for a third attempt at fixing the issue..they kept the vehicle for 9 days only to inform me that they would not fix the problem. This place has got to be the absolute worst service from a dealer. The "free" oil changes they give you when you purchase a new car here don't exist---worse yet, they say they changed the oil when in fact they didn't do ANYTHING!!! They're great to buy a car from, and then they don't stand by the service. Our engine could have been ruined. When we checked the oil and filter 20 miles after the supposed oil & filter change there was mud caked on the bolts and the filter had a grit on it that could not have possibly happened in 20 miles. Rudest service I have ever had. I live 100 miles away from this dealership and wanted to call and make sure they had what I wanted before I made the drive. The salesman talked down to me, and refused to give me any information over the phone. Treated me like a child. He told me that if i was really interested in getting a car then I would need to come there and he would make me a good deal. At the price of gas these days, didn't seem like a good deal to me.
