I unfortunately have had more storage units than one should because I tend to move about and think I may want to move back. This was by far the most accommodating and nicest staff I've ever come across. They are diligent about contacting you about any changes. They took care of me and helped me out on several occasions above and beyond what they needed to...I won't site examples because I don't want them to be bullied into doing the same for everyone that demands the same. But they really were so accommodating. If it weren't for that fact that I spent several years paying for a storage unit in a place I was not coming back to, I was actually sad to leave the place. Wondering when would there ever be an occasion for me to come back to army street storage unit? I actually had to have them cut off my lock because I couldn't remember my code ‍. They do it for a very fair rate, immediately on site. The actual moment he cut all the way through the lock I screamed that I found the code on my phone! We had a good laugh and he helped me acquire a new lock to temporarily keep my stuff safe. Great staff. Very reasonable prices. Accessible units (no riding an elevator and using annoying carts over and over just pull your car through the gate and right up to your unit). Also seem to allow storage of vehicles if that is your need. I Highly recommend! read more

As I'm sure any of you who have used Uhaul in the past know, it is like a circus down there. Dirty and unsafe area, hecklers begging to help you move, and attitude at the checkout counters. Not so at Army Street Storage. It's a small "Mom and Pop" sort of get up and that makes all the difference. Customer service is the name of the game. And I, for one, rather like the fact that you can't access the place 24/7. It means the place is more secure and you don't have people loitering around the storage units at 3 in the morning. They've cut me deals to beat competitor's prices. They've been flexible and willing to switch me to a larger unit when I did a terrible job of estimating how much storage space I would need. They have never charged me for un-used time in a space when I've emptied out a unit with no prior notice. I could go on and on... Great staff! Great service! Would come back (especially since my stuff is here!) I had to rent a storage unit to store my family's belonging from our house in Las Vegas. It was fairly a large amount of items and I originally reserved a 10x20 locker. The sign up process was great, easy, and painless. Fast forward to the truck actually arriving from Las Vegas. That morning is when I learned that the locker was actually too far for the large tractor trailer to get to for off-loading. That is where the customer service goes above and beyond. The employee (Derek I believe was his name) was great. He drove me around to find a bigger locker that was closer to the door. He also opened up an emergency exit where the truck could be driven into. This made the offload time much quicker and got the day completed ahead of schedule. I really appreciate how easily accessible the location is (right off 280 freeway) as well as the security measures (all the cameras) and the ample room to drive around. Easy access, clean, well-run facility. Really nice friendly folks on staff -and they have trucks. But the best is being able to drive up to the unit - even the smaller interior ones are close to an entrance. No carts and dollies, no elevators and hauling deep into a warehouse. This is a rental location for Budget but, don't expect your rental to be there when you make a reservation. I do believe this is a failing of Budget and not the storage facility, but wow. The person that greeted us and told us our rental was not available couldn't have been more rude and sarcastic - the only helpful information he was able to sputter out was the location of a (fantastic) local truck rental place, right down the street. Beyond all that, if you are dying to catch covid - go here. This business is not following state or local guidelines regarding face coverings - in fact, the sign on their front door is tongue in cheek basically saying that they don't care to follow the rules and encourage customers not to, as well. read more

I made a reservation to rent a truck here over the past weekend for my move down to LA. I had made the reservation through budget's online portal and the day before on a friday I received a call from one of their employees telling me that they wouldn't have a moving truck for me. I was stunned. I asked to speak to a manager and he said one wouldn't be available until monday. His only attempts to make it better was telling me I could try calling other budget locations in the area. Completely unprofessional! read more

The place where the truck is SUPPOSED to be returned/dropped off has zero control over whether the person who has the truck actually ... you know, returns it. I came across Army Street Storage and it was a blessing, after being evicted from my work space of 16 years. The location is VERY convenient to 280. Peter and Simon were very understanding and accommodating. Army Street Storage has contractor hours which is excellent for businesses and the space is secure with cameras and gates. The grounds are clean and due to the fact that they are under 280, you know they will not have to relocate. I highly recommend this for those in need of a convenient and friendly work storage place in San Francisco! read more

I rented a truck from Army Street Mini Storage 10/12/12 for a mov and returned the rental on 10/15/12, a day early. I called to confirm the receipt of the truck and checked on the credit for early return. Everything was fine. On 2/1/13, I received a VM from BudgetAvis about damage to roof of the vehicle. After returning the call, sending an email and finally a certified letter disputing damage and asking for more information the documentation states damage was not logged until 28 days after my vehicle return and their claims examiner admits this office no roof damage in subsequent rentals, somehow they have come to the conclusion the blame occurred while in my care. Actually the damage happened previously to our usage and we only noticed it as we were loading the truck. But Army Street Mini and BudgetAvis LLC are hoping to leave me holding the bag for renting out poorly maintained vehicles. I'm not going to take this scam lying down and you shouldn't subject yourself to possibility of getting fleeced by these frauds. read more
