Mark has always been helpful with a SMILE. Yesterday I was having a little bit of a melt down with my mom having cancer, and he handed me a box of tissues as I spoke with the Manager. I rented the large sprinter van the same day and when I brought it back, Mark noticed orange paint on the side. He went n got one of those "dry erasers" and was able to get ALL the paint off and I had not dented the van. Thank goodness! Mark went above & beyond to help me. The employees here have always been professional & helpful. I can no longer afford the unit I had so I moved out completely today, but this Storage place is nice & clean and I regret having to cancel my space. read more

Repeat customer here. Staff is pleasant and helpful. Shout-out to Monica who went the extra mile to ensure a smooth rental registration process. Evidence of insurance coverage is required -- either by purchasing it through them or your own policy. I had coverage under my own policy, which I tried to email from my phone. However, I had just hit my high-speed data limit for the month and the throttled speed couldn't send the file. Monica offered to let me use her phone's personal hotspot, so that I didn't have to deal with the hassle of coming back to finish registering. Thanks Monica! Everything is as good as before: efficiently run, clean storage facilities with pest prevention gadget in unit, plenty of decent trolley carts, reasonable access to units (until 6:45pm, 7 days a week), and gated parking area can accommodate a full size moving truck. Bonuses are the cardboard recycling cart to dispose of/find used boxes and access to a clean bathroom. They have a concierge package reception service (for an extra fee) that's useful. I also like that they support the community by partnering with Compass Family Services for their "Adopt-a-Family" event. Wish the units weren't so expensive to rent, but that's San Francisco for ya. Prices are comparable with other storage companies and they had a generous sign-up special going on, so that helps. read more

Super clean and friendly facility! I was looking for some available units today and Mark showed me all the available options. He was super informative and patient with all my questions. They have temperature controlled units, small, medium and large sized units. They are all indoor and they even have a small PARKING lot inside for easy loading/unloading. I also found out today they give you access to use their transport van if you have to move items to and from the unit! And it's one of those state of the art vans, my eyes lit up when they mentioned this perk. Those days of renting a Uhaul are a thing of the past. Lastly, there is always someone on-site. That's so reassuring because sometimes you just have questions! Alex and Mark were both on-site today to help with the sign-up procedures and paperwork. Pros: - They usually have deals and promotions, so make sure you check in before committing to something! - Great location downtown. - They have a parking lot inside the building that is access code protected. - They make it easy if you want to get a diff sized storage by letting you know immediately what is available and if nothing is, putting you on a waitlist. They also are nice enough to keep us updated through the waiting list process to see if we are still interested. - Fair prices for the city. - Nicole! She has been amazing. Always knowledgeable and friendly. We love working with her. - Super secure. - Clean. - They have trucks you can rent. Cons: - The hours. At first, I thought I was going to have a hard time with getting into my unit because I had lost my keys. But the staff helped me through the procedure in cutting my lock. Alex was really friendly and ensured that I would be able to get into my unit on time. He even provided a courtesy lock for me to replace my old lock. I have rented from SOMA Storage for 9 years! I run a holiday program for a non-profit in San Francisco! This December we served over 500 homeless and low income families. We couldn't do this with the help and support of SOMA Storage. The units are clean and well maintained. There is a covered garage, units are secured with an access code and it is in a great location downtown. They also have a van and/or truck you can rent, which is incredibly helpful when we are clearing out our rented units. I can't say enough about the staff! Nanette, Nicole, Mark, Richard and Alex! SOMA was great to deal with. The facility feels very secure: access code to enter and exit, banks of surveillance cameras being actively monitored, etc. We moved our stuff in during May and moved out in August. The staff were always very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly--not a place where they are faking it or just bored and only care about a paycheck. They are problem solvers. SOMA self storage is the best self storage in town. The staff is friendly, helpful, and provides quality customer service. Before relocating from San Diego, my husband and I decided to call SOMA self storage for more information. The service we got over the phone was exceptional. The woman over the phone was knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all our questions and was able to provide us with more storage information. When we got to San Francisco, Mark helped us off load the 20" ft U-Haul into our storage unit. He is super helpful, hardworking, and one of the most friendliest people we've met. Highly recommend! I moved in twice and moved out twice when I was in and out of the neighborhood. It was easy to sign up easy to move on. No hidden fees, really friendly staff. Their website and in-person payment works really well. Spotless. This place is very clean compared to most storages, and looks bright and welcoming . I feel comfortable and safe visit this place throughout my tenancy. The hours may seem a bit limited at times, but it's perfect storage of personal goods that are easily retrievable in the city, as well as supplies that need to be delivered during business hours. Their schedule basically matches normal business hours and days well. The secured parking is very nice. Most importantly friendly and helpful staff. Seriously enjoy talking with the staff here, discuss and get advice on how to best utilize storage or pay the invoice. Moving in and out are easy, and I emphasize no-hidden fees. Would rent again! I don't ever really write reviews, but I feel compelled to write one now because my experience with soma storage, & in particular with Mark from the staff, has been so overwhelmingly positive that I just had to write a review. From beginning to end, my move-in was seamless and easy with them. Reserving a storage space was quick and easy. They have a special right now which I took advantage of for 50% off the normal price. You can rent out their sprinter/vans pretty easily if you have insurance and a drivers license. & They have boxes, covers, dollies, carts etc. for use. The best part, however, is the staff. I had a hard time with my task rabbit to help me move and that pushed my move back a couple hours than I anticipated. But Mark and one other person (I didn't catch their name) were really helpful and accommodating while I was stressed trying to figure out my move-in situation with the Tasker. When we finally got to moving in, we went over the time limit, but Mark stayed just about an hour after he was off so we could unload things. He was so kind and helped move in multiple carts to my unit. Im soooo thankful that he let us move-in, I don't know what I would've done if he hadn't. Mark is amazing!! My fiancé and I needed to rearrange our tiny apartment due to Covid WFH and part of that involved finding a good, reliable self storage facility. We found SOMA Self Storage and decided to go with them based on reviews, proximity to our apartment, and features of the facility. This was our first time renting a storage unit so we weren't sure what to expect but we can happily report that our experience with SOMA Self Storage went above and beyond our expectations. Here are a few highlights: * The facility itself is very clean, well-maintained, and felt very secure. We moved a lot of stuff back and forth over the past half year and every time we went back it was hard to not notice how clean everything was. I also felt like our items were very secure at all times. * The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. From first inquiring about a unit over the phone to eventually needing to vacate our units (and every instance in between), every single staff member was genuinely helpful and polite. * The price for the two units we rented were more than reasonable to us for the extra space we got in return. Overall if it weren't for the fact that we were moving into a larger space, we would have definitely kept renting space from SOMA. I rented a 5x5 here on L3 for two short months during the pandemic. I came here by way of a colleague's recommendation and am glad I did. The five-star reviews here are not bs, this really is a good facility backed by helpful staff. + Staff is FANTASTIC, every single person really. Karen answered a million questions and was very helpful getting me set up. Nicole and Alex were extremely helpful and courteous through various interactions, and I forget the name of one of the security guys but he was great too + Cleanliness and organization are always up to par + Easy parking and access, never had trouble accessing, moving in or out + A nice bonus is they have two moving trucks that one can rent for not much money. Makes it super easy for move-in / out - I'm a bit bummed that I can get a unit about 20% cheaper now than what I paid last month, but I guess pricing is a factor of supply-demand :/ Granted, I had no problems at all during my "lease", and didn't see how they hold up when things go wrong, but I have reason to believe they would resolve things quickly and would rent here again based on my experience. read more
