If you truly care about your pet, you will not bring them to Army Trail animal Hospital they are only interested in money. When our dog was diagnosed with lymphoma, they wanted more money to get the results faster. as if we were not stressed enough the day the results came in my wife called in the morning, and the person on the phone said we are very busy. We can probably get you the results by lunchtime. My wife said please just give us the answer yes or no so we can follow up with an oncologist and prepare for our next steps. They were offended. Another woman called and tried telling My wife that they were busy and was angry about my wife wanting the results. They just then sent an email with her test results so we can follow up with an oncologist in the first line on the paperwork said my wife called multiple times and demanded the results which is totally untrue! Two months later we had to euthanize her due to the cancer spread and they were notified and no one from the office called, texted or sent any type of condolences or anything they're cold and unfeeling. I had to switch vets because we now live too far from the ones we've been at fo'ever. Army Trail Animal Hospital came recommended on some local parent groups, so took a chance and made an appointment. First impressions are that they're pretty great! I had to drop my dog off for her appointment, so Dr. Jennifer called me and spoke with me on the phone. She and the techs were very nice and personable, explained everything, and answered all questions that I had. Dr Jennifer also asked what pet food I gave my dog, and gave her recommendations (grain free versus grain). I've never had a vet proactively ask about diet, or had the discussion based on their clinical experiences. Pleasantly surprised. My dog will return in a month for a dental cleaning. Also, I signed up for the "Adult Plan," which offers some savings on treatments and procedures we would do anyway (some routine, some preventative). So far so good! read more

So compassionate and patient. Our Guinea pig Oreo had to be put down unexpectedly and they were very sympathetic, letting us know our options before we made the decision to let him go. They let us wait until Oreo's main human, my 10 yr old nephew, came to say goodbye. I wish I remembered the vet tech's name because she was amazing (she was working Saturday July 29 while we were there between 11am until almost 1pm). I appreciate how kind you were to us. The wait time was ridiculous, they're clearly understaffed and the waiting room was crammed with people and not enough places to sit.

Brought my cat here after I noticed he wasn't acting Himself. After I dropped him off I noticed he wasn't drinking water and when they called to say his bladder was full and he wasn't urinating it did make sense to me. When we were there my cat was sleeping in the sink in one of the rooms. The nurse or tech came in and was talking to him and he was just very groggy. He didn't hiss or growl at her yet when she went to grab him she scratched him and made him very scared and agitated which was not necessary. They came back with an estimate of around $1300 with at least 40 hours of overnight stay and care. They also said I had to pay $109 for their type of bladder cat food and I didn't like the way they were treating the cat or how the new food was approached. They didn't explain what the food was for they didn't give me any other options of different brands and I felt like the entire time I was being taken just for money. I did not feel comfortable with my cat getting the care he needed there. The next morning my husband called to tell them you're picking our cat up and we didn't want him there. The doctor called me to tell me it wasn't advised and then told me it was my fault and that I gave my cat permanent kidney damage. I called another hospital and they told me my cat need a 24 hour care and that the catheter should have never been pulled out of him overnight and then put back in today if he is so critical. When we went to pick up the cat they would not release him because I wouldn't pay them the new dollar amount of hours $1500 and they told me they would arrest me if I didn't pay. So I had to call the police to come and try to get me help so they would release a cat who is now not getting any medical attention and just sitting waiting to be transferred to a 24 hour hospital. While I was outside waiting for the police officer they told my daughter that my cat was going to die yesterday. If my cat was going to die yesterday why didn't they have him in 24 hour care? I stayed outside the entire time with the police. Then they said my daughter, husband told him not to be transferred to a 24 hour hospital. That was a lie they told my husband he did not need to be. read more

I took my 15+ year old dog here to be euthanized and they charged me $63 for an "examination" ten minutes before he was put to sleep. They weighed him, and that was it. Why would I want an examination right before my dog is about to die? Stay away from this place. They are a bunch of cutthroat psychopaths. read more

This was our first visit to this vet and they were fantastic! I arrived a bit before my appointment and there was someone to great us right away and took my in as well as Aces (our German Shepherd). We were put into a room right away and the nurse came in to give Ace his initial check up. Both the nurses and the doctor were very informative with their diagnosis, treatment and cost of those treatments before we proceeded with any procedure. This place is completely unorganized. I made an appointment for routine vaccines as a new customer and showed up to my appointment on time. I was put in a room with my dog and waited 20-25 minutes until someone finally came in and that's when they told me I needed my previous vet records before they could proceed. I gave them my previous vet's info and waited another 20-25 minutes until I finally left. Within minutes after leaving the doctor called me and asked why I left. I explained that I left because of the lack of communication and that I could of had the info they needed sent over before my appointment had I been told they needed me to, again they knew I was a new client when I made the appointment. He tried to explain that there was a critical patient that came in which would be totally fine had one of the girls up front come in and explain that rather than sitting behind the desk in an empty waiting room knowing I'm in the exam room waiting with my pup. So now I wasted almost 2 hours of my day with the drive time for shots I never even got for my dog. Simply ridiculous. read more

Dr. Anda has been taking care of my pets (from as little as a hamster to as big as my ... shih tzus :)) for over 6 years now. I drive all the way from Grayslake, Illinois to see her! She is extremely caring towards them, and always offers the BEST care possible. When my pup, Wolfgang, was recently in for a routine dental cleaning - he ended up being diagnosed with bladder stones through a series of events and tests. Her staff spent all day caring for him and did his emergency surgery there and then. No rescheduling or sending to emergency hospital with this clinic - Dr. Anda will rearrange anything she can to make sure she can take care of your pet ASAP. Not to mention she is an EXCELLENT surgeon. The incision for the bladder stone removal surgery was smaller than most spay incisions! The quality of care that you receive at Army Trail Animal Hospital for the price that is charged can absolutely not be beat. No need to worry when putting the care of your babies in the hands of Dr. Anda and her staff- this is the best care you can get. read more

I had to take my guinea pig Remy back to have bladder stone surgery and obviously i was a nervous wreck but Dr. Anda did an amazing job. Remy was feeling so great even when he wasn't fully awake and the incision on his belly looks so clean. He even pulled out one of the stitches and it still didn't bleed or anything. In general they seem thoughtful, deliberate and knowledgeable about what they are doing. Worst Doctor & staff ever. Horrible communication condescending towards people and unprofessional. I would not recommend this Vet to anyone. Horrible treatment for our beloved bird only 3 yrs old died and suffered a prolonged death from this acute illness because of their horrible communication, whenever you call the doctor is not available or in surgery and staff does not communicate treatment well and a staff member failed to inform us properly and the Doctor essentially called my Wife & Son liars when we called them out on this. Doctor gives you a verbal referral and not a written one when you check out ? who does this ! Normal Doctors give you a written referral also along with detailed instructions to care for your pet. (NOT HERE) send you on you merry way with a receipt. We spent near $200 to watch our bird suffer for a week with poor guidance from this Vet. read more

My 11 year old Siberian Huskie was sleeping all of the time. Also, she had put on a lot of weight. I took her to Army Trail Animal Hospital. Dr. Anda did some blood work on her. She found out she had cushings syndrome and a thyroid problem. That was 2 months ago. With medication she has lost 15 lbs, and has returned to her old self. I went here for the first time today for my guinea pig. I was very nervous but the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Dr. Anda is extremely educated and kind, and I knew my guinea pig was in good hands. Unlike previous vet experiences I have had, I never felt rushed during my time at Army Trail Animal Hospital. I was able to ask questions and have information be thoroughly explained to me. Dr. Anda's vet tech, Faisal, was so nice and helpful. After getting the prescribed medication for my guinea pig, Faisal took the time to explain how to administer the medication and essentially gave me a tutorial with my guinea pig. I left Army Trail Animal Hospital feeling happy and relieved. I would recommend this place to everyone, especially guinea pig pet owners. read more

We recently had to say good bye to our old furry buddy of 17 years. We sensed that he was in some sort of distress. We attempted reaching out to several local vets in the area, and nobody would let our cat be seen as they were all booked. I called ATAH they were booked as well however they were the only ones that open their door to us. They could have run a battery of tests on him and chose not to after discovering a large mass on him. The initial vet visit was very reasonable as far a cost was concerned. We were able to spend two more days with him, while he seemed like he had a few days of quality life left in him. They told us when the time comes just bring him in and we will make time to put him to sleep. Dr. Morlock was absolutely wonderful and let us spend all the time we wanted in the room with him before and after the euthanasia. What a compassionate and empathetic group of staff members. We currently have a go to vet in Schaumburg which has been fantastic over the years, however ATAH will now be our new care provide for our animals. read more

Worst. Vet. Ever. My dog was pinned to the floor by two employees while the vet watched and he was stressed beyond beleif!!! Asked several times(!!!) to have my pet sedated so that this would not happen and the vet chose to over-ride my wishes . When I left and returned home I realized they took back the ear infection medicine they gave me because I was visibly upset with how my dog had been treated. I then called back to speak with the vet and she was 'conveniently' in surgery and would call me back. STILL waiting for that phone call!!! Aparently it's more important to her to deny me meds for my dog then to stop and consider what kind of pain he might he be in. read more

I can add another one after our visit, they really are a great business!
