Tofu and a friend at Doggy Daydream.

I did a ridiculous amount of research before selecting Doggy Daydream as the place to board our whippet puppy, Tofu. Tofu can't be crated, so we specifically needed a 'free range' dog boarding facility. From the moment we went in for temperament testing, Val (one of the owners) made us feel comfortable and secure about leaving our pup at Doggy Daydream. Dogs are clearly her passion and that shines through immediately. Tofu spent 11 days at Doggy Daydream and did wonderfully. The team at Doggy Daydream answered our e-mails while we were away and made us feel secure that Tofu was in good hands. Tofu was happy to see us when we returned, but gave Val and Tim very affectionate goodbye hugs and kisses. They gave us back a freshly washed and very tired dog, which is super nice when you get home from a long trip. Final note: Even though our hoppy pup broke the cardinal rule and jumped the 4' walls, Val said she is welcome back - much appreciated!

Dropped off my two retrievers for the first time last weekend. They're unneutered. This place took them and the dogs had no problems at all. My golden, who hates getting blow dried after a bath, got blow dried! Usually places call us and say he was fighting too much to be blow dried. People seem very nice and genuine. One downside, is the place does smell more than your average doggie daycare. They need to really soap and scrub their floors... But very minor down side to the place. Still 5 stars, and will be using them again the next time we're in the Chicago area.

I recently boarded my dog here for a stay while we were traveling out of state. I did my fair share of shopping around prior to picking a facility and settled on Doggy Daydream. I became aware of this facility as it is near my work. I brought my dog in for an initial consult and met Val, one of the owners. Her passion for dogs is immediately noticeable and she is so kind and caring. I witnessed a higher maintenance dog being dropped off for boarding and noticed the care and concern Val showed as well as how quickly she picked up on the dogs needs and was sold. She even immediately recognized my dog was a little timid around other dogs and they took extra time to work with her and acclimate her to the other dogs. We did a trial with a day of daycare and every staff member was so friendly and caring with the dogs. I grew more and more confident about leaving my dog there. The day came to leave and I dropped her off, provided food and directions (my dog is a little bit anxious and can be a little high maintenance herself). They slowly eased her into things. I checked in through my stay and they confirmed she was doing well. Additionally they offered a free bath with her stay over 4 days which was great to bring home a clean and fresh smelling dog. I got an update on how everything went when I picked her up and the care and concern of the owners was still evident. They do not cage the dogs which was one of my greatest concerns as my dog was a rescue and must have had some previous trauma with cages before we got her. I was extremely happy with Doggy Daydream and the care they show for all the dogs and will continue to use for all my daycare and boarding needs!

My senior dog can't take epic grooming sessions, and her hair was choppy and uneven after her last groom. Her ears and tail had been weirdly shaved, and I wasn't sure we'd be able to make her look normal again during her lifetime. The staff at Rover's is friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. The groomer we saw today has been grooming for 18 years, and had my sweet pup groomed in 45 minutes--and it's the best cut she's had in years. She did what she could to round out her ears, and to help set her up with a cut she can grow back into and look like herself again. My dog is fluffy, soft, adorable, and HAPPY! As a side note, all of the groomers there today were being so warm and friendly with the dogs in their care. I even saw one groomer sitting on the floor keeping a dog company while it waited for its owner. We will be going to Rover's for our grooming from now on!!

Our dog enjoys going to Rover's Place, finds ways to have fun with the other dogs and comes home tired however, we were hoping that there would be additional open space for the dogs to run around.

It's a wonderful place for dogs! You can see that everyone who works there loves dogs and really cares about them. I have been taking Shyla here for day care for several years, and I board her there when necessary. I wouldn't trust Shyla to anyone else! The place is HUGE and very clean. There are several different areas of play, both inside and outside, and a few different types of sleeping areas for overnight guests. When you board your dog you get a report card, letting you know everything you'd want to know about your dog's stay! Plus they have webcams all over the place, but I don't use them anymore. I will not be going back to Wiggly Tails after a second, and this time horrific, biting incident resulting in severe injuries to my dog, the defenseless, kind and loyal Bailey. I apologize for sharing these horrific pictures, but I do not want any other unsuspecting owners to land themselves in the position that my dog and I are in. The photos are after my dog was cleaned up. It was much worse, looking infected. I'm heartbroken and mentally exhausted. I gave them a second chance the first time and I was assured it wouldn't happen again. The first time, I didn't post anything and I was asked to give them a second chance. I'm not sure why they neglected my dog to allow it to happen. There should have been some supervision to avoid this. The facility refuses to share surveillance tapes of the injuries. I gave them an opportunity for explanation and was told "We can't guarantee this won't happen again". Why not? Is Wiggly Tails staff extensively trained? Is the staff trained to handle emergencies? How do they organize dogs? by size or by play style? Are "dangerous" or aggressive dogs allowed in group play? Do they let the dogs do what they want until a fight breaks out? Is the facility more concerned with revenue than safety? Doggy daycare places will tell you that they watch the dogs and stop inappropriate behavior from happening but in most cases it's either a lie or they don't intervene until it's escalated too far. Wiggly Tails were negligent in their duty of care which led to my dog getting bitten and severely injured. There is no excuse for my poor little dog to suffer like this! My poor family has to deal with the trauma of an injured dog due to an irresponsible daycare business! Irresponsible decisions were made that lead to Bailey's injuries, and I would not want this to happen to any other pet or pet parent. Please, if you are considering a dog care facility, do not take your beloved pup to Wiggly Tails. I wanted to share my story in hopes that others who see this post will share it, and perhaps other pet parents will think twice about using Wiggly Tails.

We boarded our healthy but elderly dog for a week at this facility. We boarded her here before without incident and always informed the handlers about her chronic conditions, but not life threatening conditions (bronchitis, arthritis and partial deafness). Before the week was over and on Christmas day (the day before we were due to pick her up) we received a text message (because why would anyone pick up the phone these days) informing us that our dog had diarrhea and had literally soiled all over herself. We asked whether we could pick her up right away in response to their text but were told that we should wait a couple of hours. After we brought her home our dog vomited several large rubber bands and bile and started shaking uncontrollably, followed by more diarrhea. We promptly took her to the emergency vet and spent hours there and many hundreds of dollars in testing, including an ultrasound the following morning, to treat her dehydration and to make sure that our dog had expelled all of the foreign matter from her system. We informed the Dog Stop of these facts and received a "poor dog" text in response, claiming that they were "investigating the matter." No phone call or any offer to make things right by this facility. The negligence of this business and their staff have caused pain and discomfort to our (former therapy) dog who has precious little time left on this Earth. I am outraged and how little concern they have shown for our animal and would never ever let any animal near this facility.

One thing was clear from the start: Marnie loves dogs and understands them. The first time she came to our home, Jasper immediately took to her, and she to him. Jasper came to us through a shelter, a very sweet, high energy, 1 year old Australian cattle mix. He was smart and eager to please in some ways but pulled hard on walks and, after we had him for several months, became leash reactive and aggressive . We tried two different dog trainers, both highly recommended, but made little progress. From our first in-home lesson, it was clear that Marnie has a depth of understanding of dogs and how to work with them that we had not seen before. She has helped with us to understand the roots of Jasper's negative behaviors, how to help him feel secure, and how to recognize and avoid trouble with aggressive behavior He has improved so much in reactivity and aggression and generally in being more responsive. He's much better at walking without pulling and getting along with others at the dog park. Marni also does both day care and boarding at her home which is surrounded by an acre yard that is totally dedicated to dogs. She gives private lessons there too. With Jasper in among other dogs, Marnie showed us how to "read" his behavior and reactions to the other dogs and how to intervene with firmness and kindness. He loves going to her place and comes back home happy and even better behaved. We cannot recommend Marnie highly enough!
