We brought all our dogs there and they absolutely loved it. We both boarded them and also just for the day visits. The owners were wonderful to work with. The place was always clean, had a happy atmosphere and the dogs couldn't wait to go into the space to play when dropping off. And when we picked up our puppers, they were pleasantly tired. Long overdue review...We gave this place a try earlier this year based on all the 5 star reviews and I can definitely say that this place is totally legit. Our Denver is skittish around strangers and has been extremely nervous at other daycares until we found this one. The team constantly amazes me with how professional they run the business, remembering Denver just after the first visit, always greeting him as soon as we walk through the door, consistently being on top of every detail so that I've never had a bad experience. We also use their boarding service and it's such a relief we can trust the staff to take good care of our dog. I did a ridiculous amount of research before selecting Doggy Daydream as the place to board our whippet puppy, Tofu. Tofu can't be crated, so we specifically needed a 'free range' dog boarding facility. From the moment we went in for temperament testing, Val (one of the owners) made us feel comfortable and secure about leaving our pup at Doggy Daydream. Dogs are clearly her passion and that shines through immediately. Tofu spent 11 days at Doggy Daydream and did wonderfully. The team at Doggy Daydream answered our e-mails while we were away and made us feel secure that Tofu was in good hands. Tofu was happy to see us when we returned, but gave Val and Tim very affectionate goodbye hugs and kisses. They gave us back a freshly washed and very tired dog, which is super nice when you get home from a long trip. Final note: Even though our hoppy pup broke the cardinal rule and jumped the 4' walls, Val said she is welcome back - much appreciated! read more

Dropped off my two retrievers for the first time last weekend. They're unneutered. This place took them and the dogs had no problems at all. My golden, who hates getting blow dried after a bath, got blow dried! Usually places call us and say he was fighting too much to be blow dried. People seem very nice and genuine. One downside, is the place does smell more than your average doggie daycare. They need to really soap and scrub their floors... But very minor down side to the place. I recently boarded my dog here for a stay while we were traveling out of state. I did my fair share of shopping around prior to picking a facility and settled on Doggy Daydream. I became aware of this facility as it is near my work. I brought my dog in for an initial consult and met Val, one of the owners. Her passion for dogs is immediately noticeable and she is so kind and caring. I witnessed a higher maintenance dog being dropped off for boarding and noticed the care and concern Val showed as well as how quickly she picked up on the dogs needs and was sold. She even immediately recognized my dog was a little timid around other dogs and they took extra time to work with her and acclimate her to the other dogs. We did a trial with a day of daycare and every staff member was so friendly and caring with the dogs. I grew more and more confident about leaving my dog there. The day came to leave and I dropped her off, provided food and directions (my dog is a little bit anxious and can be a little high maintenance herself). They slowly eased her into things. I checked in through my stay and they confirmed she was doing well. Additionally they offered a free bath with her stay over 4 days which was great to bring home a clean and fresh smelling dog. I got an update on how everything went when I picked her up and the care and concern of the owners was still evident. They do not cage the dogs which was one of my greatest concerns as my dog was a rescue and must have had some previous trauma with cages before we got her. I was extremely happy with Doggy Daydream and the care they show for all the dogs and will continue to use for all my daycare and boarding needs! read more

I found Doggy Daydream while I was living in the area and loved the cage-free concept. My dog loves it there and has been going for daycare and overnight for years now, even after I moved downtown. Val, Tim and the entire staff are wonderful people and their love of dogs is evident. I was the "overbearing" dog mama when I first started bringing him there and when I called to check on him, I was always assured that he was having a great time, made friends and was doing great. I no longer call and check on him, as I feel 100% comfortable leaving my dog with them while I travel. I wished I lived closer, so that I could send him to daycare more often, but they are the only place I will leave him for overnights. He loves going there and his tail starts wagging the minute he walks through their door. Also, they always send my dog home clean, the way I dropped him off (this has not been the case with other facilities that I have used in the past). I noticed the few bad reviews on here and I can assure you that those reviews are not a valid representation. If you are looking for a place to board your dog, let him/her spend a day playing with friends and know that they are being well taken care of, then give Doggy Daydream a chance. If you want to pass up a great experience for your dog because of "dog smell", then that is your choice and your loss. read more

I have two dogs and started bringing my first one here years ago. Over the course of the last three plus years, I've been bringing my youngest lab, Sheeba, here for day care and boarding. This place is AMAZING! The staff are exceptional and the facilities have so much to offer to keep all the dogs entertained. They also have a Facebook page where you can see pictures of your pups and all of the fun they are having with their furry friends. I would highly recommend both day care and boarding but their boarding is second to none! The dogs aren't crated and are free to sleep on couches, etc. which to me is the best part. Sheeba always runs himself to the door when he gets there and his tired when he leaves. Without a doubt, I would recommend Doggy Daydream to anyone!! read more

To say we love it here is an understatement. There's so much "fluff" these days, it's so refreshing to see a simple, safe, straight forward, clean, friendly, reasonably priced dog facility, rather than a place that charges you for absolutely every little thing when they have an interaction with your dog. From the second we walk in the door my pup and I are greeted by name and with a smile. We absolutely love their flexibility, the staff, and the facility. There is none like it. I often need to make last minute accommodations and they are always inviting and welcoming, I have never been turned down. Most places charge extra for playtime outside of being boarded and require you to pick up by a certain time, etc, but there's none of that here. The free range play and boarding is one of my favorites. My pup has free reign at home and to know he sleeps on a couch or curled up on the floor on a blanket when boarded, just as he does at home, is very comforting. He doesn't love being confined and this atmosphere is perfect for him. (He has been boarded at facilities with kennels and suites and done well but this is undoubtedly, by far, the best place for him). The staff and ownership is fantastic and knowledgeable and you can't beat the prices. I love knowing my boy is happy, comfortable, safe, and well taken care of. I am so so so grateful for this place and highly recommend bringing your pup here. Having brought my dog to several "upscale" boarding and daycare facilities prior to this, I can tell you that the quality is just as good (if not better here) and it's significantly less costly. Really happy we found this place. Our dog, much like any dog loves coming here. Some people might stray away from the fact that this place is a little "ruff" around the edges but honestly a great place. I like the no cages system, but be warned your dog will need a bath before coming home or you will smell them! They are pretty flexible with last minute bookings, but like any place it's best to call ahead in advance. Also, when dropping and picking up your dog, go around back for easier access to the door. read more

This place is amazing !!! My dog loves coming here so much that when we pull into the parking lot he cries from excitement. Seems like Tim (one of the owners) knows my car already because every time I pull up to pick up my dog 9/10 times, Tim is already coming out with him. I am CRAZY overprotective of my fur baby and I can tell these guys take great care of him. Val (the other owner) is a sweetheart! I'm the beginning, I would call once a day to check up on him and she assured me he was doing well. She never made me feel like I was overbearing. This place is awesome for our pup. He gets tons of exercise and his endless energy is actually depleted by the time he gets home. We have also noticed an improvement in the way he plays and interacts with other dogs which I can only attribute to his visits here. And what a nice respite for us --our guy being 5 mos old requires constant attention and it is so nice to be able to get some stuff done and not feel guilty about putting him in a crate. The owners of this business, Valerie and Tim, provide exceptional care for the dogs in their care. It is clear that they have a passion for this business, their customers, and their pets. The dogs in their care are well cared for, loved, and supported regardless of their quirks. They get to know the unique and individualized needs of every dog in their care and consistently go out of their way to support the needs of both the dogs and their owners. The business model at this location is unlike most other daycare and boarding facilities which makes it stand apart from their competition. They provide a cage-free boarding model in which dogs are not kenneled or otherwise confined, unlike other businesses. This is vital for many, if not most, of the dogs in their care. While some dogs accept crating and kenneling others do not. I have not found another business in the greater northwest suburbs that provides this type of care. I would guess that most of the dogs that frequent this business are there for a reason, be it separation anxiety, behavioral difficulties, or medical needs that necessitate care when their owners are at work or otherwise away. I personally have been a customer for five years and have referred several friends, co-workers, and family members, who also bring their dogs to this business. I have also had experience with several other daycare facilities and have been extremely disappointed with their lack of understanding of my dog's needs, as she suffers from significant separation anxiety. Valerie and Tim have assisted me in eliminating some of her anxious behaviors and allowed her to truly enjoy and love her daycare and boarding experience. I would not be able to leave my dog in a boarding situation in which she was kenneled. I strongly support their passion, care, and expertise in caring for exceptional dogs. They will no doubt continue to draw a large customer base from the surrounding area. They provide competitive pricing, a unique care model, and individualized services. Valerie and Tim have recently does a fabulous job of renovating the space since the previous owner left abruptly.
