I have a warranty issue with BF Goodrich tires I bought elsewhere. Goodrich told me I have to go to one of their affiliated stores to have the claim confirmed. I went to this place because it was close. They recorder my VIN, measured the tread depth and photographed the sidewalls of all four tires. They also made a copy of my purchase invoice. Today they told me they needed new photographs of the tires and a copy of the invoice, because they had lost them. They also retook the tread depth. I had to drive the 19 miles round trip, wasting my time and gas. Either they are totally incompetent or they are dragging their heels at the behest of Goodrich. I don't know which. I hope the owner will see this and make corrections. read more

Bought a new set of all terrain tires from Arne's Tire Discounters and they offered an alignment and an oil change with the tires. I didn't take the oil change as I prefer Amsoil. I noticed the brakes were squishy on way home and when I got back my brother noticed a leak on front driver's side wheel. After inspecting we found the brake bleeder was loose. Truck has never had a brake service done it is fairly new. Coincidence??? After a few weeks I noticed unusual wear on the inside of both front tires, so I took it back. They said I had two bad upper ball joints. I asked why they didn't catch that before and never got a real answer. I got a quote for around $450 from them to change the ball joints. I provided the ball joints as the upper control arms are aftermarket. I dropped the truck off and called them later to check on it. They told me there was a problem with some broken lug nuts and that they needed more time. At that point I was only called by them one time in 8 days. Sarah called me to let me know it was ready after they had the truck for 8 days to perform a ball joint replacement and an alignment. Two custom wheels have minor scratches on them. The front end was not aligned at all, I am having another shop perform the alignment and go over the front end again. Pulls extremely hard to the left. In summary the lugs were overtightened, service was terrible, truck was damaged, horrible communication as I had to call them for a status update. I did pay them and in fairness they have told me they will pay for a new wheel. I was without a vehicle for 8 days and will still need another shop to complete the work. Never again! Update: 9-25-25 Took the truck to Tire Discounters in Dalton, GA and they did a great job getting my truck straightened out. They didn't charge me although I was willing to pay at that point. Two guide pins were damaged, and they replaced both and got the truck aligned and camber adjusted. I have attached a document that shows the before and after alignment measurements. read more

Never again. When it was Arne's they were courteous and listened. My vehicle hold exactly 7.7 quarts of oil. I use the specific brand and weigh recommended by Volvo and had driven over 145,000 miles without an engine leak or oil usage of any kind. Even after specifically saying 7.7 quarts they poured in 8. In between oil changes my engine warning light came on while on a highway. Pulling into the nearest gas station I checked the dipstick. Nothing registered. I'd lost a quart of oil. Just had the oil changed by Quick Lube at Jacky Jones Ford in Hayesville. A look underneath revealed no visible oil leaks. By Tire Discounters overfill of oil my engine has an internal leak and is now compromised. Do not take your vehicle to Tire Discounters. read more

When I ask if presented diagnostic recommended repairs where necessary for drivability,the service writer repeatedly said perimeters (tolerance on an electronic part) where not totally in spec. and repeated this same statement several times and REFUSED to answer straight up yes or no. Then I ask cost of recommended repairs and was presented with a total of $3000+ (Insane). I declined and drove off and have put several 1000 miles on vehicle since. I have a small cracked header for 40,000 miles now whereby clicking sound stops(via heated metal expansion) after it warms up! The crack sometimes allows enough air passage to effect oxy sensors throwing trouble code. I bought my own OSD-11 reader was never outside factory perimeters AVOID those that can't answer simple question read more

Had oil change (over filled), was told leaking power sterring pump-needed to be fixed. Got into car, when turning, heard a thud-thud noise. Went back inside and told them and was told that's an indicator to the problem. Drove home without a problem or thud-thud, checked fluid (was low), the pump was covered with oil. Topped off the fluid and cleaned the pump. 1000s of miles later and to this day-pump still absolutly clean and fluid purfect. A mirical? This was not the "old Arne's, they were like family. The new place will never see me or my check book again. read more

Took my jeep in for a stuck caliper. They changed both calipers, rotors, and pads on both front wheels. cost was $1,100. A few days later, I had another place make repairs because the brakes were out due to lines reinstalled improperly by Arnes. Now the same caliber is sticking and it's only been three months. They owe me! read more

These folk are terrific. We've had several remanufactured alternators that have gone "South" over the past 9 months. Even though Arne's had a 10 day backlog on repairs, they were able to work us in and made the necessary repairs in less than a day. We have used Arne's for over a decade, and when Eric was there, we NEVER had any doubts about what the mechanics were recommending or doing. And when we had an issue with a simple fix, they told us that and never charged us to do some unnecessary work. I am on the fence about Arne's now after its change in ownership. My elderly mother (who drives her Camry VERY little and puts VERY few miles on it) when in for a scheduled oil change and left with new brake pads and rotors because they told her they were unsafe. She spent over $700 on a repair I am not at all convinced she needed! I am no mechanic, so I don't want to accuse them of taking advantage of her, but that is the vibe I got. I called the office after for an explanation and they gave me this talk about how driving on mountain roads causes brakes to deteriorate faster than they normally would. This is plausible of course--except that she doesn't drive on our mountain roads much at all, and I replaced the brakes less than 12,000 miles ago. I am sad to say that I have moved my business to Aaron's Tire and Auto in Hiawassee and won't be going back to Arne's. read more

We used Arne's for years when it was Arne's Automotive. We needed an oil change on my wife's car. Arne's Tire Discounters recommended that we get the brake pads and rotors replaced on a vehicle with less than 40K miles. That didn't sound "right" - usually you have the rotors machined at least once. Took it to the dealer - the dealer checked it out. The brake pads were still good for another 6K miles (at least) in their opinion. The rotors were okay. Don't think we will be utilizing Arne's Tire Discounters again. read more

I had trouble getting my truck out of park. It just started to happen. I finally got it in gear to I took it over to Arne's. I've never been there but, it's relatively close to my home. Right off the bat, I noticed how clean and organized the shop and grounds were. When I talked to one of the service people at the window, we were told that they were busy, but they would have the service manager take a look at it for me. He did after only a few minutes. He said it was probably the dual purpose break switch and they would squeeze me in in about an hour. It wasn't quite that long sitting comfortably in one of their rocking chairs in the shade in front when one of the technicians came for it. About 20 minutes later the service manager came out to say that was the problem and I was good to go. I thought they charged me a totally reasonable price and we were on my way five minutes later. They were friendly and very helpful. Really appreciate what they did for us. Above and beyond service. Thank you so much Arne's!! read more

Arne's has been taking care of my cars and RV's for over a decade, maybe close to 2 decades and I am here to say that Eric and the gang are extremely rare commodities in this day and time. It is not just about honesty, professionalism, and competency, it is just the way they do business. There have been so many times that I have gone in with something that I wanted done because I thought it needed to be done and after checking things over Eric tells me no you really do not need that done! How many places do you know in this Country where an automotive shop would just have gone ahead and said your all done and take your money???? Most would and do. If you live in the N. Ga mountain area and have any kind of car problem, take it to Arne's and have full confidence that if it needs repair, it will be repaired and repaired right and you will not have to go get a loan to pay for it. read more

I'm very particular about who services my vehicles and I was aprehensive about what type of garages I would find when I moved to North Georgia. I made an appointment with this fine auto repair shop at the recommendation of yelp. My 2009 Volkswagen Passat once in a while has a sunroof leak problem. The drains from the sunroof get clogged and instead of dumping underneath the car as it should the water will leak into the passenger or driver side compartment floor. Upon arriving at the shop I barely sat down and I was told that both lines were cleared out. I was amazed at how fast they completed the job. And to top it off the gentleman said no charge! I was so happy that I had to come back and give them a positive rating of five stars! read more

Overpriced and they lied to my grandmother about putting a new muffler on her car. They admitted they didn't after she raised hell. Got my car worked on.. Actually had it towed there and when I got in it to leave (after it was supposed to be fixed) it wouldn't even crank!! I don't think that's how it's supposed to work. read more

The absolute rudest people I have ever dealt with! Tried to get my car towed from their lot (I'm pretty sure they couldn't even fix a ham sandwich!) and they refused to lock the gate 30 minutes later. I had been there waiting for a tow truck for several hours, because AAA messed up the pick up... Not only did he refuse after I offered to pay him to leave it open (FOR 30 MINUTES) he said I'll shut the f*cking gate right now. I will never give them anymore business if this is how they treat their repeat customers and women! read more
