My appointment was for 2:30, I wasn't taken til 3:05. When I arrived for my oil change I also asked that they check air in my tires. That wasn't done until I asked service person how they looked and he said he didn't know I had asked for that. Finally, when checking out the bill did not include the coupon discount. When I questioned the bill the cashier said I needed to give her coupon which she asked for when I first arrived. She then said she remembered it and readjusted the bill. read more

Most costly oil change of my life. Shook MainStreet Automotive in Blairsville placed the wrong oil filter on our RANGE ROVER. The tech who placed it on the vehicle obviously knew it was the wrong filter because he didn't even attach it since it was the wrong filter he couldn't. This resulted in destroying the engine of our Range Rover. The regional manager Todd, saw the video taken by the Range Rover dealership showing the exact cause of the damaged engine - wrong oil filter. Todd said the company would pay for the new engine. Guess what? They are not going to fix our vehicle. 6 weeks later, our Range Rover sits at the dealership undriveable with totally destroyed engine due to the wrong oil filter being placed on it at SHOOK MAINSTREET AUTOMOTIVE in Blairsville. I appreciate her diligent effort to rectify my issue. As for the "tire pro's " corporation, after several emails to their "customer service " rep, they just completely stopped communicating with me. My emails went unanswered. It's as if they'd hope I'd just forget the whole thing in my replacing my defective General tire. Very poor way to do business on the corporate level. Any business or establishment can have hiccups and mistakes now and then. How they rectify the situation is indicative of their quality and attention to customer service. I had an 11am appointment. They took my vehicle back 1:10 minutes later. In total, it took two hours and 35 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation. It should not be that way when you have an appointment. I heard the girl upfront tell another customer that it's similar to a doctors office where it may take a couple of hours to be seen even if you. I have never waited longer than 15 minutes to be seen by a doctor; that was a terrible analogy for her to use.Pretty sad because I won't be back. read more

After arriving home from the store my wife, & our dog noticed a noise coming from our car. Upon further inspection there was a large nest in the bumper with what we thought was just a squirrel. We moved things around and a large squirrel ran out! We still needed to get the nest out so we called Shook's! They told us to come on in and they will work on us right away. Upon our arrival they took in our car and went to work getting the nest out. The mechanic that took our wheel well apart was careful and made sure to get the full nest out. He did a great job and the lady's in the main office were very kind and professional! My wife, my self and our dog highly recommend Shook's! read more

We took our vehicle in for two new fron tires, and an alignment. The two new FRONT tires were placed on the back of the vehicle, and the old front tires were left in place & supposedly aligned accordingly. We called bullshit, brought the car back, and they did fix the rotation issue, but refused to realign the vehicle to specs. I've heard all bad regarding this establishment since I began investigating their history, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND avoiding them at all costs. read more

I have used shook in the past and they did fine. However on my last visit while either removing or reinstalling the tire to patch it damaged an aftermarket wheel. The person that damaged it refused to own up to the mistake. The paint was still freshly flaking off when I picked the truck up but denied they were liable. I was told that they had the tools to do the job correctly so they weren't liable. I explained to them that it didn't matter if they hadn't used them correctly. I would avoid this place at all costs as they are very dishonest. read more

I found Shooks through reading reviews a couple of years ago. I have a 2008 Silverado with 170,000 miles I knew it needed shocks, tie rods etc I dropped it off at Shooks. They called and said it needed alot of work in the front end. About $2500. They explained what they found and i allowed it. Truck still squeaks in the front end but ok. I have a 2019 Tacoma. When the truck got 40k miles I bought tires elsewhere and had Shooks mount them. I then gave the Tacoma to my son who drove it to school and doing kid stuff. So nowhere near the miles I did. When it got 60k the brakes were not squeaking or grinding but I knew it needed pads. The day after I drove from Blairsville to Chattanooga and back, where the truck drove perfect, I had my son drop it off at Shooks to have Brake pads put on it. Several hours later they called, they had inspected the brakes an determined I needed pads and rotors turned (yes that's what I knew and dropped it off for) but also the technician inspected my tires and said cupping was resulting in shuttering. What???? Tires have 20k. Truck drives perfect. No pulling, no shimmering, nothing. The tires look great!! So I proceeded to laugh and say ohhh nooo way noo. The nice very polite lady said that's what the technician said, and she was irritated with me I could tell. that's ok with me. So I drop my son off to pickup the truck. $369.05. Now I'm 60 yrs old. Bern driving since 1980. I replaced alot of tires myself. But I'm old and dont want to do it myself anymore. The first charge listed on the bill $34.95 for a brake inspection checked approved. That's equivalent to dropping a car off to have it washed, picking it up later, and being being billed for them approving that it was indeed dirty. $216 labor. $77.97 pads. shop supplies $35.13. total $369.51. It was dropped off to have brakes put on it. They agreed it needed brakes and charged $34.95 for that agreement. I just went out and looked at the tires again. smh. unbelievable. those tires are great. drive great. look great. They have 20k. I see all the great reviews online that's why I went there. And hopefully it's TRUE. But noo way again would I ever trust them. read more

crooks. i have never paid more than $70 for an oil change. I was not asked what type of oil i wanted. They put full synthetic and charged me $98. When i questioned why that happened without consulting me first, i was told "your car requires full synthetic oil". 100% NOT TRUE. The service and quality of work was good but definitely not worth $100. I would definitely recommend going elsewhere. read more

This place is great.We had 2 tire blow out on our RV while heading camping. My husband called Shooks tire and talked to Darrell, he was so nice and went way beyond to help us out.It was great to know there are still nice people with big hearts to help someone out.He even called to check to see that we got back on the road..Definitely use them if you are in need of tires..Darrell is great, can not think him enough. I bought $1000 worth of tires from them in Aug 2019. In Jan of 2020 I did a brake job on the same vehicle. Shook was the last time anyone had the wheels off of this car. Upon starting the brake job I found one lug nut that I could turn with my fingers (no wrench needed). I had another lug nut (same wheel) that had been cross threaded when i stalled and sheared off when I tried to remove it. Shook told me that "all lugs get torqued to spec" and it could not be their fault. Instead of owning what was obviously their mistake... they charged me to replace the broken lug... the lug nut that had the sheared lug inside it... AND tried to sell me on replacing the others. They were the last to have that wheel off. One lug wasn't even finger tight. The other had to be replaced. Their cost to remedy this I would guess would have been inside $20. Instead they charged me to repair the damage caused by their substandard work. I hope the $30 profit was worth losing a local customer who owns 4 vehicles. I chose Shook over Sam's Club and other big box options in an attempt to support locally owned and operated businesses. I expected more from a shop in this area. Not only have you lost me... but you definitely wont get any business from my mother! Its not that the charge was even remotely close to what I could bear... it's the principle that you wouldn't own the responsibility for something that was clearly not done properly at your shop. Clearly I do my own brakes. If I had the means to do tires I would. Also I have better things to do with my time than to try to get over on a tire shop for minimal money.
