My wife shopped at Arnett Farm's stand at the Irvine Farmers Market on Jan 3, 2026. She bought a bag of plums, then went back and bought a second bag. As she was leaving, a staff member stopped her and accused her of stealing a bag -- while she was carrying our 5-month-old. She explained exactly what happened, but the staff insisted she'd stolen them. When she asked for an apology, the cashier/manager stepped in and told her she was "being ridiculous.". We paid by credit card both times. Here's the part every shopper should note: they never offered a receipt either time. Because of that, my wife had nothing on hand to immediately prove the second purchase, and they used that gap to treat a paying customer like a thief. We'd been loyal customers for a long time. After being publicly accused and then brushed off when we simply asked for an apology. Always ask for and keep your receipt here -- without it, you may find yourself accused of stealing something you just paid for. read more

My interactions with Arnett Farms have been consistently good. They are one of my favourite vendors. I visit their stand at all the farmers' markets I go to. Recently, I purchased a Christmas gift for a friend from them. It shipped from LA, which was a surprise, and UPS didn't handle it with care despite multiple "fragile" stickers. Luckily, those 9-oz glass jars are pretty sturdy. I'm a little distressed by the negative reviews I have seen here. I'm sensitive to poor customer service and hostile farmers' market vendors. This review is for the extremely rude male cashier at the Torrance Farmer's Market today (9/2). I'm at the Market twice a week for the past 30 years. I've bought from you in the past. Your plums are definitely the best at the market. This rude cashier has harrased us in the past on multiple occasions. I am gay and when I bring my black female friend (former law enforcement), this guy has been dismissive and very rude to us. I always thought he was gay too. Usually gays are nice to other gays, but not this rude guy. I was with my partner today (he's a disabled senior). We walked through the line to enjoy the many samples. This rude cashier cones to us and accuses us of going through the line more than once on multiple occasions. Who is he to accuse us in front of others like that? He likes confrontation, so I didn't engage with him even though I wanted to call his rudeness out. He definitely crossed the line. He's definitely both racist (towards black women) and homophobic towards gay men. He definitely needs to be taught done customer service skills. How does he know I'm not referring business your way? I'll definitely think twice about referring anyone to your business now. Life is too short to be publicly embarrassed by some hot headed hater? You definitely have a big liability on your hand with this guy. Gay people and black women might want to stay away from Arnett Farms stall at the Torrance Farmer's Market. My 85 year old father has been buying fruit from Arnett Farms at the Brentwood Farmers Market for more than five years. Last Sunday, as usual, he picked out and purchased his fruit. He used a credit card to pay. A few minutes later when he was at the next vendor, a man who worked at Arnett rushed up to my dad and said, 'you did not pay for your fruit.' My dad said, 'yes I did-I paid with a credit card and it was $14.35.' Then Arnett worker grabbed the fruit bag from my dad and dropped it on the scale of the vendor where my dad was standing. The man and my dad went back to the Arnett stall and the man asked the cashier if my dad had paid. She said yes and then when we asked for an apology they refused to apologize. We are very upset by the incident and will no longer buy anything from them. This was such a disturbing incident. read more

I had figs which were not very old and not quite costly. They went moldy and I went to take them back and before I could say anything was told it was my fault. I've been buying here for years and referred by a very frequent loyal customer. It does say recommend to refrigerate, but more egregious than the product issue was the complete lack of customer service and rudeness of the owner. Sorry to say I and my friends will no longer be buying from here sad to say! read more

I'm a big fan of Arnett Farms and I've been lucky during the pandemic to get them at my local La farmers markets and now through their own delivery service. Must try them during pluot season but of course their citrus is out of this world! Oh and I frequent Clementine in Century City and they have Arnett pickups every Wednesday! This review is for the stand at the Irvine farmers market. I went to pay for oranges. Total was $5.55. Usually other stands would just forget the change but no such practice here, whatever. While I was looking for the 55c in my purse the cashier goes "there are people waiting behind you". WTF. I'm trying to pay you! If you want the line to move faster you shouldn't have asked for change. I really regret paying her, should've just left the oranges right there. When I looked at the line after I paid there was 1-2 ppl. And she was chatting up the customers before me for awhile after they've paid. Clearly the cashier was just annoyed. It's shocking to encounter such unnecessary rudeness, especially when most ppl at the market are so nice and welcoming. Needless to say I will never shop here again. Or maybe next time I'll go w all my pennies and take my time counting. read more

I've been coming here for years, but if I remember correctly, this farmers market stand didn't used to have its own yelp page! This is my favorite place to get fruit out of all the farmers markets in this West LA / Santa Monica area. If you think you know what a fuji apple tastes like, you probably don't! The ones at the supermarkets are always a little chalky and way too waxy, even if they're organic. The apples may sometimes be funny shaped here, but they are amazingly crisp and sweet! I admit that at over $3/lb, it's a bit expensive, but I think it's totally worth it! It's really weird how matte the apples look when they aren't waxed! I've gotten other fruit here too, like citrus or stone fruits. All of their produce is delicious and fresh, but the apples are what stand out the most to me. They provide samples of everything too, so don't worry too much about not knowing what you're buying. read more

On one hand, I understand because she does deal with a LOT of people and no offense to my Brentwood brethren, but ya'll can be Brentwood Betches. Woman in lululemon yoga pants can be difficult. Some of the fruit is good but I can't even begin to say how much my jaw dropped when I read all these negative comments because I couldn't believe I recommended this company to a high profile client of mine. Their products list information and phone numbers of contact for this company and when my client tried to call he told me he was also yelled at and told not to bother. So unreal and it's crazy because so many others have experienced so much craziness from this company. I will no longer be supporting them all at all. A legendary vendor at the Brentwood Farmers Market, Arnett Farms is usually set up toward the north end, on the east side of Gretna Green. Really awesome selection - we're talking about a dozen varietals of pluot alone on this particular morning - and really friendly employees that will either help with selection & bagging, or discuss a particular product. The register person is often a magician, deftly handling two separate lines. Really good place to load up, but you'll probably buy too much. That's not a bad problem to have. read more

Arnett Farms continues to be an absolute GEM! IGNORE the Karens and their infantile petulant reviews - I've been going to this stand for years and years and they continue to amaze me with the quality and variety of their fruit. I was almost in tears of joy after biting into a ripe nectarine (the white are amazingly sweet and floral and the "mango" is otherwordly!) After living in the bay area - coming back to this stand is like a revelation! Arnett (and SoCal Farmer's Markets in general) are galaxy's better than those up north so stop nitpicking and count your blessings Socal! Arnett at one point had 26 varieties of pluots - I counted and still am amazed by it. The photo I added is ONLY the pluot section - they have a lot more on offer including varieties of peaches, nectarines and so much more depending upon what's in season. And the pricing is far more reasonable than anything the bay area has to offer, so if you think you want to cry about the cost, count your blessings, and keep your complaints to yourself. Today in 2020 they charge $3.95 a pound for most stuff, up north Frog Hollow, the famous one, charges $7.95 for inferior tiny and sometimes flavorless questionably ripened fruit with 1/10 the choices to boot. And it's cheaper than Whole Foods too, for much better fruit. They also sell dried fruit, nuts and gourmet jams too, the Heirloom Plum Bourbon Vanilla is a favorite of mine! Go find Arnett in anywhere they set up all over Southern CA. You'll be pleased and you'll be supporting an amazing purveyor of what IMHO are the best fruits in the country. The lady who runs it is kind, helpful and extremely knowledgeable but I'll be honest, they could swear at me and call me names and I'd still stand in line waving my money to get this fruit - it's that good. read more

This was my first time at the Brentwood Farmer's Market and visiting the Arnett Farms stand. I was shopping for a friend who doesn't get out of the house when I asked if I could exchange my first selection of figs for the other figs. Big mistake on my part, what was I thinking? Still, the cashier and family owner ran me out of town with a gun. She raised her voice and could care less if I ever come back. I wish I was writing this review about their delicious fruit (which is a fact!) but I was disgusted with the customer service. I frequent the fruit stand and was recently overcharged. I should have been charged $3.95 but was actually charged $9.35. When I discovered the error, I told the woman working at the stand (the same woman who was there the week before) and her response was, "You must have made a mistake. You don't have any proof". That is not the way to treat a customer. My proof was that I said I bought 4 plums at $3.95/lb. and 4 plums happen to weigh one pound. I know for a fact I did not buy 10 plums, but she refused to listen. She then proceeded to ask me not to shop at her stand again. Luckily, I paid with a credit card and the credit card company quickly adjusted my billing statement for the overcharged amount of money. I guess no harm, no foul, but even if she hadn't 'banned' me from her stand, I would definitely never be shopping there again! read more
