It's not too big, but if you want to get some nice fruits, veggies, and snacks they have it here! I love micro greens! The man that was selling them, he had about 10 different varieties. And some I've never heard of! I did purchase: Grandmas old fashion butter bunches - This is like popcorn without the Kernal's. I was expecting a different flavor and texture. I got the Elote and the Carmel. I love them both! I would put this in my budget to buy next time. They are $10 per bag Dalemain mansion Marmalade - I haven't tried it yet! Will try it today. Viva Mexican foods. And I think I forgot to take a picture. But we bought the 5 for $30 and the spot in the back, they have different flavored hummus, black chips, fried pit bread and flavored chips For me the pita bread was too hard for my liking, and the black chips....Just some plane Dorito's. The hummus, I couldn't really enjoy, because of the fried hard pita bread. Ever booth pretty much service was amazing. I might not ever try and go the farm we were trying to go to, it was way too far, and it was closed!

I've always wanted to check out the Vineyard Farmer's Market and just never made it over. It was my lucky day as I snuck over while my fiancé was at his appointment. The Vineyard is beautiful and it was a lovely sunny day, just a bit windy. I was surprised at all the vibrant and quality produce offered. There were other vendors selling honey, flowers, food, coffee - even La Boulangerie bakery from Fig Garden had a booth! I honestly felt transported elsewhere for a bit. It felt like a genuine Farmer's Market and easily my favorite in Fresno now. Everything I purchased from this quick visit- I loved. The pastries from La Boulangerie, the coffee from Fabiano, the strawberries I actually purchased from 2 farmers, notably Maos Farms were the sweetest we've had all year and the produce was beautiful and delicious. I eyed some grape leaves sold by an older couple- the last one was purchased before I could say, hello, lol. They looked delicious. Great quality items from local farmers and vendors. I can't wait to return again.

You'd wanna get there early as parking can be challenging... Sadly, I did hit See's candies ($7) for my once a year urge burner. Or is it every two or three years? Ugh. WHY did I have to see that place? All the self-satisfaction of some damaging habit, like smoking a cigarette. If you catch me lifting one to my mouth two three years from now, please roundhouse kick it out of my hand! Nine dollars for a SMALL bowl of corn with mayo and some seasoning. Really? For corn you say? Only a glass of water is less labor intensive/costly! Add bacon for two dollars more and PG&E starts looking like a bargain! lol The Laotian Food truck was a good value and the menu item I ate was tasty. And there was a ton of food left to take home.... Try that with a nine dollar bowl of corn with mayo clocking in at 6-7 rounded tablespoons of RIP oFF! Needless to say, very few people were at that truck holding their ankles. I'm usually looking for something unique that is not available elsewhere... carefully picking my poison! Most of the vegetables being sold were wilted. I'm sure it's challenging in this weather. I came with an empty tank in the stomach and left with it full. Mission accomplished! -G

I was looking forward to moving to Fresno partially because of the hope for farmers' markets and…read morecheap avocados. The downtown farmers' market certainly does not disappoint. I've visited a few of the farmers' markets in Fresno, and this is my favorite. I've also been to River Park and Vineyard (Shaw & Blackstone). I drove by Tower (Olive & Van Ness) one day and there were literally two vendors. I still want to try Perrin & Champlain and Kaiser (Fresno btwen Herndon & Alluvial). Anyway, the downtown market is open multiple days (Tues, Thurs, Sat 2-7), is very cheap, and has this awesome guy who grows and sells watermelon just so he can afford to eat it all the time. He's super friendly and is watermelon is awesome. The other vendors are cool too. There's a huge variety of fruits, an okay selection of vegetables, and some nuts and spices. And cheap ass avocados (around 25 cents each). The fruit is usually pretty fresh and ripe. It's pretty low-key and down-to-earth; most vendors don't have signs announcing their farm name like they do in Washington, and some don't have signs for prices, so it makes you approach them and talk to them, which is good. The only problem for me is that there's basically no organic food. The other farmers' markets have a little bit of organic produce, but there's not that much compared to Washington and it's expensive. And this market is hot because it's dusty and there's not much shade. At the downtown market, I've seen one or two vendors only seem to speak only Spanish so it's incentive to work on my Spanish :) This market, and most of the others, are year round! Sweet.

This is one of two of my favorite farmer's markets in Fresno…read more The produce is inexpensive and there's some good locally grown vegetables. Not all of the vegetables are locally grown (some from Mexico and other places long ways away), so buy at own discretion. And just because its local, doesn't mean pesticides are sparsely used or organic. This used to be located at Fulton & San Joaquin, but now is at Broadway & Tuolumne.
