We are from out of town and came to bike the Riverwalk as a family. We had the unfortunate circumstance of having somebody steal the front tire from my brothers bike. Very friendly and helpful. Not the first bike shop we tried in town. It should have been. Would have saved us a lot of time.

Went to Arnold bikes to check out some parts and ask some questions about components. The older guy with glasses had condescending responses right up until he had to ask the younger guy behind the counter the questions and the young guy answered them. The older guy has a terrible attitude probably makes sense why the store had few customers in it. I think in the best interest of that knowledgeable young man working like a slave behind the counter while the disgruntled old man leans on the register answering questions like a child the young man is wasting his potential and could make a better name for himself and his impeccable positive attitude regardless of the old mans negativity. If you are in columbus and wanting to start riding bikes there are better bike shops around even Walmart would be better than to be talked down upon by someone. read more

I have never bought a bike from this shop, but I use them whenever I need service. If you walk in the door, don't expect someone to rush up to you and try to start selling you the most expensive product in the shop. Except someone to greet you and try to find out what brought you in today and how they can help. I have always walked away from this shop with the opinion that they wanted me to be happy with the bike I have now, rather than be happy with the bike they are selling. In other words, I have a lot of respect for their business model and will continue to use this shop whenever I need something bike related. They have been performing tune ups on my bike for over three years now, and I have always been happy with their work. read more

Amazing customer service. Very knowledgeable staff. Had a bike tune up that was a quick turn around and made it look brand new.

I walked into the shop the other day and asked to see the hybrid bicycles. I was shown their selection and asked them if they only had "brand name" bicycles because I didn't want to pay a lot for a bike. The guy helping me (I didn't get his name) turned away from me and pointed at the door and said, "There's the door, bye!" and walked away. I was stunned. I have never been treated so rudely before and was truly shocked. I can't believe I didn't just walk out but I think that I thought he was kidding. (he wasn't) The other guy behind the counter said, "hold on, the cheapest hybrid we sell is about $379." To which I replied, "Oh, that's not bad. I didn't want to pay thousands." Both of them then, and only then proceeded to tell me that when customers come in and make the statement about not paying a lot, the customer thinks they are going to get a $100 bike (like from Walmart.) Ok...I understand that, but to treat EVERYONE who comes in and says that the way they did, seemed very rude to me. You're a bike shop! Educate people! Be nice. Don't turn your back and point to the door and tell them to get out!!! I was prepared to buy not one, but two bikes! And please see my previous comment...I wasn't thinking to the tune of $100 each, but at least $400!!! So, this shop lost any and all business from me. A little tact and humility would have been nice. Went in not knowing much about bicycles ready to buy a bike on the spot. This bald Asian guy with braces comes up and asks if I needed help. I said yes I don't know much about bikes can you help me out picking a bike. I told him I wanted to ride on the road but can also maybe go off path if needed. He then proceeded to almost insult me about asking about a bike that can do both he said " well dude you're asking about two different bikes I can't help you with that " in a very sassy voice and attitude talking down to me like I'm an idiot. I already told him I didn't know much about bikes. In all honesty that completely turned me off from buying anything from that store. Never going back there and would not recommend going there horrible customer service. I ended up going to Ride on bikes and buying a new bike from them. Arnolds lost a big buy because of some pathetic dude with horrible customer service. read more

A little over a year ago I walked into Arnold's Bike Shop looking for a new bike. I had been riding a Townie and was ready for something that could take me further and faster. Steve fit me on my first Fuji road bike and was very aware of the price range I could afford. I was so thankful to have someone who cared about me being happy about not only the bike, but the price. Fast forward to May 2019...I again walked in and told Steve I wanted to upgrade. (I liked cycling a lot more than I thought I would! LOL) I had a better price point and he nailed it! I got my first Orbea Orca and fell in love. I loved the bike, but had a few adjustments that needed to be made to make it a perfect fit. The staff didn't care how many times I came in or how many adjustments I felt I needed. They were to take care of them. Steve, David, Ramona, Danny and several of the other "regulars" helped answer all my newbie questions too! I got the perfect ride with the BEST customer service! No pouncing on me the minute I walked in the door, unlike the other bike shop I had visited in the past. So it boils down to this... Do you want the right bike with the best customer service at the right price point? Or do you want someone who just wants to sell you a bike without really hearing WHY you ride and WHAT you want out of your bike? I LOVE ARNOLD'S BIKE SHOP!! I go here for all my biking needs. 28 Jun. 2013: If you have a bike that needs a little (or a lot of) attention, or if you have questions about bike riding, or if you are looking for a brand new (or used) quality bike, go to Arnold's! Steve Saunders and Jeff Gordy are true experts in biking. I recently had them do a tune-up on my 20+ year old Schwinn Sierra mountain bike. The bike works better now than it has for years! It feels like a new ride, and is a blast to ride again. The skills offered by Steve and Jeff are augmented by the bike veteran Bill Arnold who rounds out the team with years of "been there - done that" intuitive wisdom. These guys know how to relate to anyone who comes through their door, and treat people the way they would like to be treated. Their service is absolute high quality, and their prices are fair.
