Quality of work was severely lacking for what they charged, could not finish job in the time they agreed to and did not clean up work site as expected. I would not recommend them for anything beyond mowing my lawn if I had no other options. read more

use local my butt...I regret trying to support local businesses as Arnold's home improvement bathroom remodel has been the worse experience of all home improvements I've done to date. The communication and lack of knowledge from the office is pitiful. Bathroom remodel and they left me with a non working toilet. Multiple times they scheduled the installer to come back and multiple times they canceled or rescheduled those appointments. Absolutely no consideration for my time as I canceled or rescheduled personal appointments to accommodate the installer coming back, which they again would reschedule and/or cancel. Terrible choice on my end for going local. I'm baffled how they stay in business with such terrible customer service. read more

My mother and I was very pleased with Arnold's Home Improvement. My mother was home with Denny and Jeff , and these days I would of been skeptical, they were very polite and courteous and got the job done in a couple days as promised! They cleaned up and acknowledged our dog and even took time to play in between work! They worked well together, they put sheet down where they would be walking ! As for getting job scheduled , i did have issues getting ahold of them to find out where we were at on date of starting job ! Overall i am very pleased with the whole experience! read more

They don't have enough skilled people to do the work promised in a reasonable time. If you like lies, delays and shoddy work, Arnold's is the place for you. read more

Took my stepdad's $2000.00 deposit never did one thing until about 5 months later. Had to call them 3 months after he signed up to receive a copy of their contract because every time he would call they would say read your contract. In the meantime he tried to cancel starting about in December last year. That place told him no. Kept promising they were coming to do the tub. Dad was willing to take the 30% restocking fee hit. After 5 months a crew did show up said they would have to tear up the wall and the plumbing for about 4800.00 more.on top of the $5600.00 we would have to pay for the shower installation. Finally made them realize after about six months of empty promises and bullying no meant no. Then they had the nerve to send a bill for $260.00 for materials. Did I mention stepdad was 84 years old at the time? I talked to them for a couple months and they laid the same song and dance on me. The materials are coming blah blah blah. Moral of the story- DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY!! read more

BEWARE!!! Listen to the negative reviews! They have the worse customer service when you have a problem! They lie about calling you back and avoid your calls when there is a problem with the finished project! BEWARE!! read more

DONT USE THEM!!! The estimate was for half a day to repair a leak/replace shingles for $450, even though I had the shingles, but gave them their required $200 down. I called back and asked to cancel because I heard from another it was too high to repair a few shingles. They said I would have to pay a cancellation fee, even though that was not told to me when I signed the contract via the blank iPad put in front of me, and was told that would be emailed to me later. So, it took them two weeks to find the time, and the entire job from pulling up in front of my house, to driving away took less than 45 minutes. So, by this logic, they charge $562.50 an hour for roof repair. They did use a few nails, and a couple squirts of adhesive. But when you take away those pennies, it was still an extremely overpriced repair, if it even stopped the leak - I have yet to find out. They refused to reduce my price and claimed they were not able to because I signed that blank iPad screen. But if there were additional costs to the repair, they would have been able to make an adjustment for that to the contract. So, this place will NEVER be contacted by me again. And hopefully every person reading this review will follow that advice. Every person I have spoken to after this, has told me NEVER use Arnold's!! Wish I saw them before I signed that blank iPad read more

If you need home improvement this is not the company to call - run do not walk away from this shoddy workmanship and terrible customer service. Signed our contract in July 2016 and work was not completed until October 2018. Two years to vinyl side our house! Completely unacceptable and then without even sending a final billing, or warning they placed a lien on our property then demanded we drive to Toledo to meet with them to discuss a resolution. Mr. Arnold does not care one bit about the customers or promises made or contracts written. Do not get pulled in by their sales reps - our's refused to answer a call once work began. read more

Do not buy from here if you can help it. They installed a shower for me. It took longer than they said and cost more than what they said. They pulled the old trick of making a quote, pulling it apart, and then saying there was more work than they thought. I paid almost double what we had agreed upon. Then, it had a lifetime warranty, thank God, because it broke down and cracked 6 MONTHS later. I called them 5 times before they would make a time to come out. It took about a month. Then, once they did, they sent someone out to look at it, and no one else for weeks. Then they finally fixed it, by patching the cracks with ugly white paneling. I had paid like 7 thousand dollars for a beautiful purple shower and now it has big white patches down the corners. It's a huge huge, disappointment, which I am still paying on. What a let down. read more

Arnold's, has proven to be the most unprofessional business I've ever encountered. What turned into a two month delay, also turned into a 3 month nightmare that originally was suppose to be a 7 week renovation. The contractor we were assigned was completely awesome on the other hand, and tried his hardest to push the project to completion. I'm not sure if Arnold's is good at anything else they do, but if you are looking for any interior home renovations, DO NOT GO THROUGH ARNOLDS. They took advantage of our income and over charged us for everything. Most of the problems were all miscommunication inside of Arnold's. They didn't have a problem cashing the check we gave them super fast though. read more

We recently hired Arnolds Home Improvement to replace the roof on our home. The salesman was quite honest and did not try to "oversell" us on products and services. Staff members were available when we needed them, and the roofers were finished with our project in less than a week. We are pleased with the results. We were referred by Payton and are glad that we chose this company for such an important home improvement project. read more

When we received our quote and signed the contract to have our roof fully torn off and replaced, the service seemed to be professional and we felt confident. The day of our job, a crew showed up to our house, never spoke to us and left without doing ANY cleanup despite the fact that we verified at time of contract signing that a full cleanup job would be done immediately after the roof was replaced. When we contacted our project manager, he texted back "smh the one weekend I'm out of town".... not very professional to not even be in the area if you're managing my project. What was much worse was that when I asked why no one would even tell us they did not clean up before leaving and placed us and our dogs in danger of stepping on one of the hundreds of nails left around our property I was told they couldn't tell us because no one who had been on our job site spoke English. When I later told the project manager I wanted to re-discuss price before finalizing payment since we did not receive what our contract stated we would I was yelled at by my project manager while I was home alone and he was standing outside my house - as a small female this was not only unprofessional, but also threatening. Even after I pointed out the various beer caps we found along with the nails around our house they had the nerve to ask if I was sure that the beer caps were not ours.... we do not drink beer and definitely did not purchase Mexican beers with a name I'd never heard of. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. On top of being rude and having terrible customer service, you pay professional company prices to get cheap side job quality and guys who don't clean up hundreds of nails or the beer caps from the alcohol they drink on the job. I finally got them to take a small amount off of our total price, only after stating I was about to contact their insurer and the BBB. However, it's been months and they're now contacting us again to come back by the house to make sure something was even done properly because they don't even know if they did it properly the first time around and the City of Toledo inspectors are requiring that they check. Please save yourself a headache and take your business elsewhere. read more

Their current 2.5 stars is too high. We had Arnolds remodel our master bathroom and when completed it looked amazing. The tub was removed and large walk in shower was installed with a lot of tile and natural stone. When the job was completed the tile and stone were sealed using their recommended product. About 3 months later the stone on the floor started to become foggy in a 1 foot circle and has continued to get larger. We've had them out several times and their representative that looks at the floor always agrees that something is wrong, probably the grout work. Once they talk to the owner then it becomes not their problem, they got their money. We're talking about a 22k remodel. Customer service is about the worse I've ever dealt with. Steer clear and chose someone more reputable that cares about their craftsmanship and customers. read more

We had our master bathroom completely remodeled. It now looks and feels like a luxury spa, thanks to the wonderful professional work Arnold's Home Improvement provided. They came to the house and sat with us to discuss exactly what we wanted and gave us a timely quote and estimate on how long it would take to complete. We met with our sales person at the Tile Shop and picked out all of our supplies. The guys who did the work were quite skilled and conscience of keeping things clean. They laid carpet protector down on the floors to keep from tracking dust and dirt throughout the house, and cleaned up every day when they were done. Our bathroom is beautiful! I will be using them again for a kitchen remodel in the future. read more

Do as you want with this but after I posted my 1st review a sales manager did call to reschedule with me. This time they actually showed up but since I was not replacing my tub just everything else in my bathroom they were unable to do my job. I was told they will not take on job without a "wet area" redo. Someone dropped the ball cuz I never mention wanting a tub replaced just a bathroom redo one would have thought that someone might have asked if I was wanting my tub replaced since a tub replacement is required for them to remodel a bathroom, before wasting everyone's time. As they left I was also asked to make an amendment to my original review. I will give them this they did try to make it right even offering me a 100 off any job I wanted done that they can do for me. read more

If I could give Arnold's a negative rating- I would. In Mar, we talked to a lovely older man from Arnold's who went through all the stuff with us and we signed the contract to have a remodel on our bathroom. We then went in and picked out all the fixtures, etc. needed. We were given a start date in late May/early June. Arnold's was a no call- no show. We repeatedly attempted to call and the phones were never answered. When we finally got ahold of them, we were promised that the start date was now late August and to go ahead and order the merchandise we had picked out. August, September, and October were, again, no call- no shows. We told them in November that we would now have to wait until spring because I did not want people tromping with muddy boots and shoes in the house. Arnold's then promptly proceeded to cancel our funding and our order. Now, they want to charge us for part of what we ordered, but will not send an invoice of what we are to pay for and the charges. These people are not reputable remodelers at all. Do NOT use read more

Hired Arnolds to tear off and replace our roof. Corey our salesman was very good and very polite. They originally told us our roof would be started in March, but they came out in February and started. Tear off was ok. Installation of new roof was bad. They didn't re secure our gutter guards, and all the shingles towards the edge of the roof are all wavy and curved up. Someone came back out and reattached the gutter guards, but they are still wavy. Was told we need a hot day for them to lay down, but we have already had a couple 80°F days and they look the same. Next problem is our chimney. It's leaking (never leaked before). Once again had another guy come out and look. Said he sealed it up again. Next hard rain, still leaking. Guy came back out and told us we need a whole new chimney and that he can do that for us for more money. I asked if they put flashing on the chimney (metal chimney) and they said they do not put it on metal chimneys. Had Luces Chimney come and do an estimate on fixing the chimney. We need a new top cap, which I understand we need a new one, but in the estimate was also to fix the flashing on the chimney. I took the estimate from Luces to Arnolds office, and their project manager there said they put flashing on the chimney and that they don't repair or install chimneys. They contradicted themselves twice. Their customer service is very poor. My neighbor just had a new roof and a co worker just had a new roof. If Arnolds would have had better customer service and better work, they would have received both of their business. Both of them went with Ohio Roofing and Siding. Neighbor's house looks 20x better then my roof. read more

If I could give zero I would Arnold's was a headache from the start to the finish. Was promised the world with the sales guy lifetime warranty for everything blah blah, well we are 2 years out and wouldn't ya know its only a year warranty on the caulk. I called about this issue last week and we had to call back to get an answer because God forbid anyone from this worthless company gives a damn to call you back. Our back splash cracked 4 different times before the fixed it completely and when the contractor was remodeling the bathroom he told me I get paid by the job not the hour, and boy does it show. The craftsmanship is garbage so people save your money and your time and go with a company like bath fitter that has a lifetime warranty on everything because if you can't guaranty your own work then what kind of work are you paying for? I can tell you its rubbish. read more

I had work done on my house in Greensprings that was finished in December 2016. One of the jobs was to repair a roof valley over my mudroom. I called Feb. 2018 and was blown off by one of the girls at Arnolds stating that roof repairs was just a bandaid. The other work included siding that they had to come back out and reattach because it was blowing off in the wind. I still have window trim that was installed over rotten wood that was not even level. They came out to fix once because it fell apart. There is nothing under it to support the tin. Really check out your contractors, one of the workers was drinking on the job. Jack F. read more

worst business - no coordination of salesman, project manager, etc., dont waste your money and time with these people.

I need a small repair done on my home the window frames were old and needed to be wrapped in metal. I hired Arnold but they could not do the job for 8 weeks. The windows were leaking and I had to get the work done fast. Arnolds refused to refund the balance of the money after promising to take only a 30% penalty. Met with a salesman named Todd to quote me on a bathroom remodel. This was more high pressure salesmanship than buying a car. He pulled every trick in the book, the ole "these discounts are only good for 2 more days", "we'll price match anyone that gives you a lower quote" and my favorite, writing a huge number that was more than three times what I expected to pay and then discounting down so I would feel like I was getting a deal. I suspect because I am a woman living alone and the sole decision maker he thought he could really bully me into spending some cash. But, he did lose some confidence (particularly when I mentioned I had a boyfriend) and tried to discourage me from consulting with anyone else, saying THEY were the ones that would pressure me into the wrong decision. Seriously! This guy is honestly sitting across from me saying not to trust the input of my family and friends because THEY are the ones who will scam me? He also tried to get me to give him $1000 up front for work that couldn't even begin for an estimated 6-10 weeks out. Oh, and he wouldn't leave until I agreed to do the work by basically ridiculing me saying well, if you don't want to do it don't do it, but you're saying you're going to do it. I felt strong-armed into signing a contract (no, I didn't give him a check in the hopes they'd show up in a couple of MONTHS to do the work) just to get him out of my house, which I cancelled the next day. If you want high-pressure sales then this is the company to go to. Personally, all they convinced me of was keeping my gross old bathroom a little longer so I never have to deal with them again. YUCK!! Women beware!!! If there were an option for negative stars I would give it. read more

I hired Arnold's Home Improvement in November to replace a roof that had a special design and had gone through several bids before selecting Arnold's. My in-laws hired Arnold's through the Home Advisor website and were initially told in July, 2015 that it would take 8-10 weeks before they were able to start the bathroom renovations (so by October 1st). They hadn't heard from the company well into November and were told it would be another 2-4 weeks. Finally they showed up around Thanksgiving and had to postpone the job until a few custom pieces came in (they went without a sink for a month because they were waiting for the counter top).My father in-law found many flaws in the work that was done: they didn't install the heat duct under the vanity (just let the vent blow inside of it), they didn't finish the corners of the drywall (a family friend had to help finish it), they put the wiring for the light off center of the vanity, the mosaic in the shower has more than five gaps, they did not replace the sub-flooring, and a few other careless/lazy mistakes in order to get the job done in five days. After a few calls to check the status of the custom pieces (which they said would only take a week) they finally came in again the Friday before Christmas. They probably would have waited until after the holidays to come. Of course when they were called the custom pieces just so happened to come in the day before. They also only did verbal discussion on what my in-laws wanted done, and when the crew showed up they kept saying "well that's not on my list". I understand that companies like this have other jobs to complete but they're work ethic seems to focus more on quantity than quality. Not impressed. read more

First of all, let me say that I waited a while before I decided to write this review. There are more steps I may take since the work is still not complete. We signed on for a complete bath remodel. We gutted the bath ourselves to save money. We hauled away the debris ourselves. The contractors (sub-working for Arnolds-not happy about that) showed up and started working on the day they were supposed to start. When they finished, we had a whole list of problems that needed fixing, and we are still waiting for them to fix. They still have not installed the shower door and we have paid (in cash) over half of what we owe them. The trim around the whole bath was done poorly, with gaps between the wall and trim. He did not even fill in the holes from the nails (wth?). We installed the flooring ourselves, they couldn't even do that. After getting the water to the bathroom going, we had no hot water in our kitchen. The sub contractor acted like that wasn't his problem. We are not plumbers (?). They did not ask us if we were the homeowners, which by the way, we are not-we are in a land contract to buy the house but we are not the owners. I agree with the other reviewers absolutely in the fact that they are difficult to communicate with as well. They do not return phone calls or emails promptly. We did have a good salesman who did not pressure us thankfully and was pretty informative, because if I felt he was not I would not have used them at all. They were also pretty careless and broke a couple of personal items (a hose reel and porch chair) while working. read more

Made apt for a Saturday and estimator never showed. Company said they could not confirm. I gave my phone number to the scheduler two times so it is a lie. Why do you need confirmation, I made the apt. Plus it is a roof and I shouldn't even have to be there. Wasted half of my Saturday waiting on them. Will not use read more

I have used Arnold's Home Improvement in the past for roof repair, gutter replacement, and attic installation with favorable results. The last job was a shower install. I had to pay more money after the quote because there was more work than they thought. I had a water leak behind my shower head that was unnoticed. I had to pay extra for a drain replacement. It took longer than expected to get the job finished. Both parties came to a resolution about the drain. I am happy with my new shower. read more

Stay far away from Arnold's Home Improvement! After 14 months and 3 complete do over's, they finally finished last week. Now we have to hire a professional company to re-paint what they messed up. This was a custom bath remodel with travertine and a custom tile top on a vanity...they did nothing right. We now have a 3-D tile job (seams are not straight and several of the tiles stick out several mm, giving the entire shower a horrible look). And the grout lines, I almost wish I would have just done it myself. I have seen several complaints on-line about wait times for estimates. If you are worried about waiting a long time for an estimate don't even consider this company. We actually paid off the one-year interest free account before the bathroom was finished. Not to mention that for the first 2 months of the project, we only had one actual Arnold's employee at our house...all sub contractors that have since been fired. We were actually told that they had to bring on a manager to exclusively handle the bad jobs that had been done. This is a roofing contractor that is not capable of performing anything other than a simple, plastic bathroom surround. Do yourself a big favor and don't even begin to think about hiring this company. Oh, one last thing, we never met Jason or were ever given an apology for the job taking over a year (not to mention at least 5 times that I took a day off from work and nobody showed up). This is clearly a company that pays to use the BBB logo but doesn't live up to what it means. read more
