It is rare to find a walk-up window for any coffee shop and I've only seen one other coffee shop in Manhattan with this option, but it is something I wish I saw more of. I got a cold brew (black) and it was delicious, not too acidic, and had a nice well-rounded coffee taste. Also, the staff was friendly and quick, so overall a good experience and I do want to come back for the food next time.

For coffee, I got the nitro cold brew with their seasonal cold foam, which was blackberry flavored. It was tasty but the ratio of coffee to foam was a bit off, with only about half the cup filled with coffee and the rest foam. You can either order at the counter and seat yourself in the little cafe area, or sit in the restaurant for full service. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

I actually had no idea this was also a tavern/bar. The Plainville location of Rebel Dog was very busy today, they had trivia going on. I first got their Salted Caramel Toffee Latte. This was as expected pretty sweet, but still solid. We got the garlic flatbread to share. This garlic bread was very pouffy and cheesy, but it lacked garlic. The arugula salad was very light and fresh, it had crispy almonds and chickpeas all over. I got the Winter Chili Grain Bowl. This was very satisfying on a winter day. The chili was tender and offered just a bit of heat. The corn on it was crunchy, there was a small scoop of a grainy salad and some fresh avocado. Overall we were all satisfied with our visit at Rebel Dog. I thought it was a bit odd that they close at 4:00 o'clock everyday.

That is exactly what Perkatory offers. I stopped in for a cortado, three shots of espresso with oat milk, no sugar, and it was perfectly balanced and delicious. The café itself is inside a warm, inviting building with seating in the shop and throughout the hallways. With the walking path nearby and the dog friendly environment, it is the perfect spot to stop during a morning stroll, before a night out, or while exploring the area. Between the quality coffee, attentive service, and dog friendly atmosphere, Perkatory is a spot I will definitely be returning to.

Not what was expected, but not bad…read more Missus is on a dumpling kick, so we looked for some of the best dumplings we could find locally. Found this well reviewed shop close by, so we dropped in. The inside is very sparse, lots of stuff strewn around. It was lacking a lot of polish, but it didn't seem too sketchy. We ordered from the nice lady an order of dumplings, pirogies, and a couple of bao buns. Price was good, and food took about 15 minutes to cook but we did some trekking locally to waste time, We got our food, took some pics and dug in. The pirogies were for me, and I must say that they were not pirogies. It was mashed potatoes with cheese in a dumpling wrapper. The dumpling wrappers were fresh, but the dough was not what I expected. The potato and cheese was pretty good though. Didn't use a farmers cheese but did some type of white cheese. The bao were generic. They used the same filling as the dumplings as the bao filling. It really needed a sauce inside to help differentiate it from the dumplings. We also got a black sesame bao, but the inside was very watery and not appetizing at all. So we threw that one away. The owner is a very nice lady, and she's working hard to keep her place busy. It's clear that the stresses of the day keep her strained, but she does mean well enough. For those in the area, it's not a drive to destination. It's pretty good dumplings in a run down shop with an owner fighting to stay afloat. I would recommend going here if you want to support local, and don't mind a bit of grit. The dumplings are fresh, the pirogies are interesting renditions, and they do boba tea.

So being in the area, decided to come here and pick up some donuts for the ride home. We got here late in the day, and they were out of almost everything when I got there. I managed to get a churro and matcha donut. I then saw they did a Dubai chocolate strawberry cup, and had to give that a try as well ( they only do the cup on the weekends) The donuts were very fresh, light and chewy. They are high in price but much better in quality compared to other places I've tried. The Dubai strawberry cup had a kind of weak chocolate sauce over them. Not the cheapest stuff on the market, but not strong or mellow like the expensive chocolates. The strawberries were fresh, and the Dubai part needed a little salt to counteract the sweet and enhance the earthy. Inside is well decorated but dirty. All the tables were dirty, there's lots of dust and other ditritus when I was waiting for my dessert. It was end of day, so I get why they would not be fully clean. But there's some repairs that need to get done and there's cracks in the facade. Despite the lack of donuts, the quality was good and the Dubai strawberries were a nice sweet treat. This is a good place to get some interesting food items or sweet treats. Not a trek worthy spot, but good if you're around

Once it was our turn to order we were devastated to find out that they were out of the K-dog batter and could no longer make any so we decided to get extra sweets instead. Overall the deserts were absolutely delicious especially the mochi donuts I would recommend the ones that we tried but of course I'm sure the others taste delicious as well. Our least favorite was probably the crepe cake but that doesn't mean it wasn't also good me and my friend just thought the batter could use a little more flavor. My friend bought the coconut cake and when she first tried it she didn't like it all that much but she said that once she put it in the fridge the texture and flavor of the cake was much better and rated it an 8/10. Aside from the pastries I ordered a mango fruit tea with passion fruit popping boba and I was a bit underwhelmed. The flavor of the fruit tea is lacking a bit but I feel my taste buds were a bit altered after so many sweet treats. I will definitely be back again to give the boba another shot and finally get my hands on those k-dogs!

They have a huge menu of specialty coffees, hot chocolates and teas. Additionally, they also offer special cocktails. My friend arrived first she got Kevin's Not Here hot chocolate, this is a nod to Kevin from Home Alone. I arrived shortly after, I tried to order my coffee for a while. While they were busy, I felt like I was purposefully being ignored, no matter how many times I pointed to the menu and said "excuse me?". I was sitting right at the front where most of the commotion was. My friend had to raise her hand all the way up, like we had something to say in school. I guess that's the way to get their attention. I eventually got the Cannoli Cold Brew. Both of our drinks were very good. Kevin's Not Here is a white mocha base with eggnog and gingerbread syrup. This was very sweet, I could for sure taste the gingerbread. The Cannoli Cold Brew was another great choice, it tasted like what it sounds, it wasn't overly sweet. They offer a variety of fun flights at Yellow King, from coffee, to hot chocolate to cocktails.
