Good donuts, needs tlc I've been to this place before, and I appreciated the location despite it being an event. So being in the area, decided to come here and pick up some donuts for the ride home. We got here late in the day, and they were out of almost everything when I got there. I managed to get a churro and matcha donut. I then saw they did a Dubai chocolate strawberry cup, and had to give that a try as well ( they only do the cup on the weekends) The donuts were very fresh, light and chewy. They are high in price but much better in quality compared to other places I've tried. The Dubai strawberry cup had a kind of weak chocolate sauce over them. Not the cheapest stuff on the market, but not strong or mellow like the expensive chocolates. The strawberries were fresh, and the Dubai part needed a little salt to counteract the sweet and enhance the earthy. Inside is well decorated but dirty. All the tables were dirty, there's lots of dust and other ditritus when I was waiting for my dessert. It was end of day, so I get why they would not be fully clean. But there's some repairs that need to get done and there's cracks in the facade. Despite the lack of donuts, the quality was good and the Dubai strawberries were a nice sweet treat. The cafe was extremely adorable with plenty of seating inside and outside. When me and my friend arrived we did have to wait in a line but it went down fairly quickly. Once it was our turn to order we were devastated to find out that they were out of the K-dog batter and could no longer make any so we decided to get extra sweets instead. Overall the deserts were absolutely delicious especially the mochi donuts I would recommend the ones that we tried but of course I'm sure the others taste delicious as well. Our least favorite was probably the crepe cake but that doesn't mean it wasn't also good me and my friend just thought the batter could use a little more flavor. My friend bought the coconut cake and when she first tried it she didn't like it all that much but she said that once she put it in the fridge the texture and flavor of the cake was much better and rated it an 8/10. Aside from the pastries I ordered a mango fruit tea with passion fruit popping boba and I was a bit underwhelmed. The flavor of the fruit tea is lacking a bit but I feel my taste buds were a bit altered after so many sweet treats. It's always such a great time to visit this café! I love the aesthetic and it's so cute and pink. I love how current the owner Tookie stays when it comes to Labubus and Sonny's Angels being available in her shop. I've even seen her do Labubu trade events via Instagram. My most recent visit I brought my mom to try her very first mochi donut. We tried so many flavors, but my favorite was the rose lychee. Absolutely amazing and light, the texture is always perfect. To drink, I got the Matcha with the cheese foam on top. Definitely a new experience for me, but I liked the contrasting, sweet and savory flavors of the drink. My mom got an Vietnamese iced coffee with mango boba... What a combo lol! Big mistake but thankfully Tookie remade her drink with some brown sugar popping boba. My Mochi Donut is a cafe and bakery. I am a huge fan of mochi donuts, boba tea, and Korean corn dogs. When I drove by this place, I had to bookmark it to check out soon. The owners of this place also owns a Thai restaurant called Somewhere in Bangkok. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed with a line. The interior and exterior was very cute and pink with a few seats; there were plenty of parking spots. They also offer macarons from a bakery in NYC and signature cakes like the coconut, mango, and crepe cakes. Their mochi donuts are the best I've had; it's chewy and not too sweet. The flavors are unique; they had chocolate & potato chips, fruity pebbles, glazed, Oreo, and more when I stopped in. I ordered 3 for $10.50; those 3 flavors were Oreo, glazed, and chocolate & potato chips. My family and I devoured them, 5 stars. I also ordered two Korean corn dogs that were coated with hot Cheetos and had a cheese and hot dog filling. The dough was chewy and the flavor was savory. I saw them making these corn dogs to order in the back; I think that's why it took quite a bit of time to come out (15-20 minutes). Unfortunately, the employee thought I wanted one so I had to reorder a second one, which was another wait. I would rate these K-dogs 4 stars. I also ordered Thai iced boba tea which was decent; there weren't many boba pearls in it and the flavor wasn't as robust. The employee said they had the latte version which I will try next time. Also, it took a long time to come out too (15-20 minutes). This boba tea was 3 stars. Overall, it's a great place to get some snacks, desserts, and drinks. The cafe and bakery complements a Thai restaurant she opened with her husband -- Somewhere in Bangkok -- shortly after moving to the United States in 2004. CONCEPT: Mochi Donut Cafe & Bakery sells a range of Asian and Asian-inspired treats, including imported beverages, slices of cake infused with Asian ingredients, and of course freshly baked mochi donuts. LOCATION: The cafe is located in a stand-alone building surrounded by outdoor seating options and ample parking. AMBIANCE: The cafe is decorated such that I felt I was stepping into a teen girl's dream, with cotton candy pink walls, plush smiling boba and mochi character merchandise displayed along walls and counters, and vases of pastel flowers on each table. EXPERIENCE: I was drawn to try the cafe after seeing that it was offered as a Yelp Elite Squad experience, and it was within a ten minute drive from an annual meeting I had during the scheduled Yelp event. Although I missed out on being invited to this event, I replicated on my own during my meeting day as it is otherwise a one hour drive from my home and previous reviews suggested the donuts are better than those offered at another cafe in Connecticut. I found that to be the case as I tried taro mochi donut and an ube boba to replicate the YES experience. Unlike the other option that is available in the Hartford area, the items were not cloying and were priced at a lower cost. To my surprise, the last donut I had in the other mochi cafe in Hartford area was stale... not so at this cafe. I finally saw some K Dogs in a New Haven storefront a few months ago and was struck by the bright neon-like variety of colors on their exteriors. Well, after yesterday's visit to the Mochi Donut Café, I now know a lot more about Mochi Donuts and K-Dogs, and I'm here to tell ya, they are both awesome. The Mochi donuts were lined up in the front showcase like something you'd see in a jewelry store or in an art exhibit -- a real kaleidoscope of icing and topping colors. My Oreo donut was very light and airy with zero trace or taste of grease. What is very cool about Mochi Donuts is their shape- they are scalloped around the perimeter (sort of like the pedals of a flower) so you can break off Munchkin-like sections and pop them into your mouth one at a time. Definitely less messy to eat them that way. It was chewy on the inside, a bit crunchy on the outside and excellent all around. The K Dogs really flip the idea of traditional hot dogs on its head. There is a wood skewer through the hot dog before being dipped in a rice flour batter, fried, and rolled in your choice of toppings (classic panko breadcrumbs, potato, Hot Cheetos, and Blue Takis). I went with the Hot Cheeto topping which gave my dog-on-a-stick an orange-red glow. It was excellent- the two-layer coating was a little crunchy from the Cheetos, a little doughy from the rice flour, and the savory hot dog was great. Super cute cafe with many instagramable spots inside and out. All the mochi donuts look tasty and thankfully they had samples (when I stopped in) in case you can't buy one of each! I opted for Taro since I always get taro flavored foods when I can, and a Thai milk tea. The Thai tea was super sweet (as I believe they usually are) so I was happy that the warm day melted the ice to dilute it for me But both donut and tea were so tasty. I have never had a Mochi donut until this past Saturday. It's not located in my neck of the woods but definitely a nice 30 minute drive to get there. They are very airy and light and the toppings are very tasty but not too sweet. This Mochi Donut Cafe is very cute, clean cafe with a pink color seating area. They also sell homemade cakes, Korean corndogs, macarons, coffee, tea, and Boba tea. I purchased a Oreo donut along with the brown sugar/banana iced latte. This donut was truly amazing. Cutest yelp elite event check in I have seen! I was so happy to see that they had an ube flavor mochi donut! Ube is so hard to find and usually sold out! The purple color really stood out and I was able to get my favorite classic - taro milk tea. Mochi donuts are such a rare find in CT and perfect to eat all at once or if you bare to do it, snack on the small pieces that tare apart so easily though the day. The texture was spot on for mochi donuts and the icing wasn't too sweet. I loved the coconut bits on the ube to give it a different texture. First time trying boba tea and mochi donuts. Both of the Oreo and crème brûlée donuts were fantastic. Both were airy, light and flavorful, not dense. The person in front of me ordered the last crème brûlée donut on display, but they were eager to make a fresh one, which came out warm. The person at the register was a little new so checkout took a bit of time, but it was worth it for these delightful morsels. Make your mochi dreams come true! This place is the cutest pink mochi donut cafe I've ever been to in CT. I went this past June with my siblings and cousin for a sweet treat. We got a variety pack of the mochi donuts in fruity pebbles, churro, Oreo, and Kit-Kat flavors. We came later in the evening and by then aa lot of the other flavors were already sold out. So my advice is to get there early if you have a particular flavor you want. I got my siblings milk tea boba and fruit smoothies, and I got the crème brûlée milkshake which was a special at the time. They also have Korean corndogs available, which are delicious with a choice of cheese and potato filling or hotdog. I got the blue Takis flavor and want to try the hot Cheetos one next. They also sell cake by the slice as well as macaroons over-the-counter in their bakery section. The staff were friendly and quick, and the ambience was clean, pink and Barbie vibes. Ube strikes the center of my heart because that's a staple dessert in Philippines. Anything that brings me closer to home is great for me. There's ample parking and I've not been where the lot is full. I've done both dine in and take out and both experiences are easy. The one thing I'd really like is if their database stores memory cause it asks for an email each time. The staff are all pleasant and knows their product well. Absolutely no rush either. The whole store, every wall, every side is cutely decorated and pretty much has a photo opportunity. The donut itself is very light and has that mochi texture. Every bite makes you want to go for the other one. The flavor is all on the toppings. I would like it to be part of the batter and looking forward to that if ever it is made. Holy mochi! This place is adorably pink and beyond sweet. My Mochi Donut Cafe is one of the very few places in Connecticut to get mochi donuts. With classic donut flavors like glaze and sprinkle or their rotating specialty donuts like Watermelon and Rose Lychee dropping weekly, their menu keeps me on returning. They have Mochi Balls too and some stuffed with delicious creams like crème brûlée. I love how My Mochi Donut Cafe's donuts are a smidge cheaper than other mochi donuts shops and are continuously running deals. Since the mochi donuts are very popular, they do sell out. So if there is a flavor you really want to try, get there earlier in the morning. Sometimes they will make another batch of donuts throughout the day. The donuts are always fresh. Mochi donuts maybe the star, but there are other tasty confections available. They have homemade crepe cakes, sponge cakes, and macaroons. You can order a full cake for a special occasion or birthday. The cakes are Asian flavors like ube, matcha, and pandan to name a few. I think I'm going to ask for a crepe cake for my birthday this year, they looked cool and yummy! On my most recent trip we were curious about the Pandan Cake and had to try a slice. The flavor was subtle with a vanilla/earthy taste. The filling had bits of jelly (maybe grass jelly) which my mother discovered she loved. The cake had a fluffy, whipped frosting, coated in coconut. It was very good if you want to try something new. To add with your sweets, they have coffee, tea, fruit tea, and boba tea. Their fruit teas and boba teas are very sugar--their tapioca bubble is very good. I recommend the Crème Brûlée Boba Tea: a rich brown sugar milk tea with a creme brulee frosting around the inside the cup. If you are looking for something savory, My Mochi Donut got you there too. They have Korean Corn Dogs. You can customize it by choosing hot dog, hot dog/mozzarella, or mozzarella, the outside coating, and sauces. This was my first time trying a K-dog so I have nothing to compare it too, but I'm a fan! I got the mozzarella with potato. It was served hot, had a great cheese pull, and the outside was crunchy. I dipped it in spicy mayo and sweet chili. This cafe is decorated sweetly with aesthetically beautiful soft pink booths, white oak color tables, and casting in a lot of natural light. It simply feels 'happy' and a little girl's dream. There is plenty of seating since most people grab and go. You can possibly get some work done if this is your vibe. Finally tried My Mochi Donut Cafe on Saturday, had them on my list for a bit. Absolutely loved the all pink decor. Currently they have some spooky pink and black decor, so cute! It's lovely what the owners did with the space. There's bathrooms, & some booths available to sit. It also has a good amount of parking available. We grabbed a 6 count, not going to lie it was a bit on the pricier side for Mochi's l've had but the flavors were truly there. Their special of pumpkin spice had just the right touch, so did their blueberry mochi donut, & their sea salt chocolate one. The only one out of the 6 that lacked tremendously on flavor, was their "churro mochi donut". I opted to try their Fruity Pebbles Mochi Donut and it was indeed fresh and tasty. :) The staff was all smiles and quick about serving up whatever was ordered. In comparison to ones I have tried on Long Island, NY [RVC & Farmingdale] at a favorite bubble tea spot. I would say these are very close, but biggest difference here at My Mochi is they have a slightly denser bread/dough like traditional donut feel. The ones I'm use to are a bit more light and airy. For right now it's their mochi donuts but I will be coming here to try other items on their menu for the foreseeable near future. I'm still wanting to try a Korean dog. Each time I'm here I notice something different with their decor that I hadn't previously seen or noticed. The gorgeous pink color pops of course and is not gaudy at all. You can tell they have taste. I found out they are the owners of a Thai restaurant in New Haven. The owner is very nice. The service has always been 10 outta 10 when I've been there. Very sweet attentive caring staff. There's one of the staff, Maddy, who's so sweet, kind & knowledgeable. She knows what hospitality is and how to give you good hospitality. She is the definition of Hospitality. Maddy rocks. You rule Maddy ;-) She was multi-tasking on one of my visits and forgot what my order was and she was so apologetic & sincere. She put an incorrect mochi donut in my box and had to take it out to put the correct one in. She was going to change the box and give me a new box but I told her it was fine. Those boxes can't be inexpensive so I was fine with it and didn't want them to waste one. She also turned me onto their rewards program. It was a simple explanation and no hassle sign up. The rewards program is like most. You earn points for free stuff and percentage off your bill. The place itself is so FreeKin Cozy i don't want to leave when I'm there. You're warmly welcomed once you get to the counter. Sometimes I hit a line on my visits but it does go quickly. They're very efficient. The pick up window for your drinks is about 10 feet to your right of the register. They give you your donuts when you pay at the register. There's comfortable gorgeous pink booths to relax in and enjoy your delights. I've never been rushed out. I've spent time sitting there taking it all in and people watching. This place seems to be a sleeper. It's there, very noticeable in plain sight. And you may think they don't do that much business, but they do a pretty good business. I see many people coming & going every time I've been there. Pretty steady. I don't have any other mochi donut place experience to compare it to but they are not inexpensive. Your average price of their mochi is $3.50 ea. It depends on if you purchase them by the ea. or a 3 pack, a 6 pack or by the dozen. The larger quantity purchased, the more savings. I saw a huge order of about 6 dozen or more go out with one special order a couple weeks ago during the elite event. They are a true delight and a warm welcomed addition to our local community. My Mochi Donuts had their soft opening this morning. My wife was in Plainville when I learned that and she was able to get a half dozen. If you don't know, Mochi donuts are made with rice flour and tapioca and they fuse Japanese mochi pastry and American donut styles. As far as I know, My Mochi is the second CT Mochi Donut place. They have some other things as well, but I just tried a white icing glazed plain mochi donut with what I think are Fruity Pebble pieces. As a matter of housekeeping, the six donuts were too large for the six donut box. The box looks cool. I like the design artistically, but the icing was smooshed. That's a problem they're going to have to solve because the knobby appearance and the colors are a significant part of the enjoyment of the mochi donut. That said, the Mochi Donut I tried was the best I've had in CT. It was still warm, despite the fact that my wife drove 15 minutes home with it. It was lighter than the other Mochi Donuts I've had in CT, but was still true to the Mochi Ethos. The icing was very tasty too. It almost had a melty marshmallow vibe. My Mochi is also less expensive than the other option I'm aware of. So, I came here for the Yelp Elite experience but I left with two boxes of Mochi donuts and coffee and a desire to return as soon as I can. I arrived just as they opened and they were still putting the finishing touches on Hazelnut version of the donuts. They had so many different flavors to choose from and a friendly attitude to boot. I got the ube mochi donut. And it was warm and so good. Chewy without being unnecessarily so. And sweet but not like one of those donut chains. And the cafe latte (shoutout to Oatmilk) with brown sugar and it was hot and really good coffee. The other flavors I got included a Oreo that I really loved too. My Baby has been wanting to go to a mochi shop for months. I decided it would be one of her graduation gifts.After researching, I picked Mochi Donut Cafe. They not only had Mochi Donuts but Korean Corn Dogs, Boba and the viral fruit ice creams. When we arrived I was so surprised it was pink! I got super excited then. There was plenty of parking and outside sitting which was cute. I think they could benefit from umbrellas. When we walked in we were so excited. Everything was so cute and they had lil table games and activities. I was sad that the fruit ice creams were out of stock but my daughters was still happy. The shop was adorable but the customer service wasn't as cheery as I expected. They weren't rude but they also weren't friendly. My daughters so the Boba was really good. My 1st mochi donut was ripped in half so I had to ask them to switch it(like why would you serve that). The donuts were yummy. If you haven't had a mochi donut before the texture is really soft and chewy. I feel like the frosted tasted more like white chocolate. The corn dogs were nice and hot with wonderful cheese pulls. I wished they had better sauce options. Great place for photos opps and they had a bunch of cute stuff to purchase as well. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend. My boyfriend and I decided to stop here this morning and boy was it great! From the ambiance outside to the amazing and aesthetically eye pleasing decor and food! The Korean corn dogs were great I was so happy I could have the hot Cheeto one. The donuts are so appetizing and so good! We got fruity pebble and crème brûlée! We also had a very tasty hot chocolate and peppermint hot chocolate! We will definitely be back. The owner was so sweet, so kind, and friendly! She's the great face of the business! Recently tried some of these donuts from a new place that opened in Plainville, CT. I tried the churro flavor, cinnamon, and oreo. Although not your typical donut, as they are shaped differently, these things are really addictive. They are fluffy but chuey at the same time, they are very good, it is definitely worth the trip. They have been opened for about a week or 2 and there is still some work to be done to make sure everything is on point service wise, but overall I will be coming back. They seem out fast so get there early. read more

Went again to the Mochi Donut Cafe and again enjoyed delicious donuts and a matcha. They have a great selection of milk teas, including rose lychee (which I have been searching for since I love rose) so I am looking forward to coming back for more drinks. I love these donuts there is nothing texture wise to compare them too, and they are not sickeningly sweet just a tad sweet. Made a special side quest here on a Saturday morning to grab 6 to go. But the shop is beyond cute too. read more

This place is so cute! I stopped by to try some donuts and boba tea. The donuts were delicious and had the best chew. The flavors I picked were Reese's, Chocolate Caramel Pretzel, Churro, Fruity Pebbles, Pineapple, and Glazed. My favorite was the pineapple - the flavor was spot on. I'm half Filipino, so I LOVE everything ube. It was only right for me to get the ube boba, which was delicious - the jam gave the authentic ube taste, without it though, it would have just tasted like taro. I also wasn't too fond of the boba pearls - too many of them weren't cooked long enough. Additionally, I snagged a slice of the Ube Coconut Cake which was light and not too sweet. Very cute spot! It's small but has a good amount of seating. It was all pink and upbeat. The staff was nice. The donuts were so yum! The rose lychee glazed was our surprise favorite. We had two great boba drinks too: passionfruit and ube crème brûlée. Definitely will stop again! read more

Cute little cafe and the fruit ice cream was delicious. Customer service was lacking once there. Additionally, we were traveling from out of town just to give this establishment a visit. Because we wouldn't have made it until one hour prior to their closing time, we tried calling to inquire what donuts they had left for the day, however no answer. We tried calling again, still no answer. We finally get there and of course what we were worried about, happened. They were ALL out of Mochi donuts and had just some mochi balls left. A 40 min car ride to be disappointed. I think businesses like this, esp ones seeking a social media presence, has a responsibility for better customer service, at the very least, answer their phone. We even tried messaging them on Instagram to inquire. They responded days later with just one word.. "yes" Were the fruit ice creams delicious? Yes. Would I make another trek or recommend others to do the same just to visit here? No. Find somewhere closer to home where you can get yourselves these pre-packaged delights! read more
