My daughter ordered a Rush drink with a cloud top. When we were driving home, she inserted the straw and the drink exploded. My nice car got covered in cream and soda all over the passenger side. I go there every Friday morning with my dad, and if I could give this place 10 stars I WOULD! the customer servers is amazing, they always have a smile on their face and want to help you with your order. We went here today to get a coffee and a quick breakfast as we were driving through. The window person was snobby when I was asking questions. The coffee wasn't a thing special that I was hoping for... I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and they give you a knife and cream cheese packets to go.... How am I suppose to put cream cheese on my bagel while I'm driving ? This place doesn't have any seating areas either so that concept of not doing up a bagel in a drive through coffee place is silly. my husband and i were in Portsmouth for the weekend and decided to give Aroma Joe's a try. we're used to Dunkin and Starbucks, so Aroma Joe's was a nice change of pace. i ordered their version of a Coollatta, which was far superior. the flavor was deep and rich, and tasted like it may have actually been made with real coffee, as opposed to some kind of artificial coffee syrup flavoring. my husband seemed very happy with his regular hot coffee. the employees were very friendly, patient, and helpful. for a little local chain, this place was super cute and i highly recommend. read more

This is the BEST place for an amazing iced coffee. They also offer a lot of great specialty drinks (love the frozen lemonade) as well. The staff is always friendly. The prices are incredibly reasonable (cheaper than chains like Dunkin Donuts and have such better quality). I highly, highly recommend supporting this local place. read more

Went out of our way last Saturday morning to try Aroma Joes, as we were recommended by multiple friends that they had great coffee. We were terribly disappointed. The service, not only was it the slowest I have ever encountered, but the young girl behind the walk up counter was extremely rude, and acted as though we were inconveniencing her by asking her to do her job. To our misfortune, one of the coffees in our order was incorrect, and we were given, yet again, the wrath of the unhappy counter girl. All in all it ruined our experience, and to be honest the coffee was not even good, and "iced" to them means luke warm with a single cube. The remainder of the weekend, we took our coffee orders to the Dunks a mile down the road. The staff was speedy and efficient, and greeted us with a smile. read more

VERY RUDE barista. We were so disappointed by the service we left. She never came to the window where you order so after waiting ten minutes we pulled up to the next window to get her attention. We were told that we had to drive back around to go back to the order window as she didn't have a register at that window. The place is tiny so why she couldn't walk over to the register baffled us. How ridiculous to tell us to drive around and get back in line. She lost four orders. read more

Had a pretty horrible experience there yesterday. I got two self-entitled, rude, unprofessional employee's that messed up our order and over charged me and my girlfriend. After she asked us if we tasted the coffee's she asked us verbatum: "What would you like me to do." How about a coffee and correct change? I asked to speak to a manager and she suddenly found her happy face. Her co-worker was too indifferent and unconcerned to summon any hint of professionalism. When I asked to speak with a manager she referred me to the aroma joe's website. These employees need to be re-trained on their customer service and Point of Sale/Transaction skills Simply unacceptable. I will be pursuing the matter further. read more

We noticed that Aroma Joe's has exploded in Southern ME recently, so we opted to swing through on our way back to MA from vacation at around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. We wish we hadn't. From the time we got into line to when we pulled back out into traffic, seventeen minutes had elapsed. It seems like the problem was two-fold. 1. They have a weird order system. It's a drive thru, but, instead of ordering at a voice box, you order and pay at a window. Then you move up one car length to the next window to get your items. There's not enough time between ordering and picking up for anything resembling efficiency or speed. 2. I think only two people were working. Considering that two people are needed just to staff the windows, I have no idea what system was being used to actually prepare beverages and food. I think the girl who took the order then made it, then handed it to the girl to give us at the next window. I am sure they were both working their butts off, but there's no one two people can handle a weekend morning coffee rush. The iced coffee that I got was watery and bland...couldn't tell if it was just too much cream BC the cup for a medium iced was the same styrofoam cup as my mom's large hot, so I couldn't see the color. My mom said her hot was strong enough even with extra cream. We were super excited to have an alternative to the ubiquitous New England coffee shop giant, but Aroma Joe's failed. We definitely won't visit this location, but I think it's highly unlikely we'll visit any other one either. read more
