Walking distance from my motel so I visited mid week in June for a breakfast burrito about 730AM. Busy but with empty tables. I was alone and got seated at a two top quickly. Waitress was nice but accidentally overlooked me - water and coffee went first to the couple next to me who were seated after me. I had to get her attention, she apologized for forgetting the drinks and was pleasant. She then asked me if I wanted my check less than 10 minutes after I was served and at that point I kept an eye on my watch. I asked for a refill on water and it was a little awkward. I walked out the door 15 minutes after she asked me if I wanted the check, so maybe 25 minutes after being served and with the feeling that I had overstayed my welcome. I paid $28 for the food and a mug of coffee with tip and had the strong feeling that I overstayed my welcome. As a person who earns $25 an hour it's a big deal to go out for breakfast and this experience felt bad. I ordered the burrito without sausage and it was very bland; so maybe the usual seasoning didn't work without sausage. Hash browns, shredded potato style, were forgettable...not raw but also not especially well cooked or seasoned. Syscoesque guacamole, sourcream,pico on the side. More of a bakery pancake/waffle/place than eggs. Def not a burrito place. read more

Food was great (8/10). Service was a 2/10. Prices are outrageous. Not worth it. Asked me if I prefer to sit inside or outside. I say inside. They immediately proceed to seat me outside. (Not a big deal but why ask me lol) Wife and I ordered coffees. She forgot them. Daughter ordered an apple juice. Had to remind her. Kids ordered a fruit cup. Had to remind her. Meals took about an hour to come out (I think she forgot that too). Waited so long my son passed out at the table waiting for the food. Had to get to go boxes for a bunch of it cuz we had been there for 90 minutes just waiting in the heat. Food was great but I get the bill. Rather than attempting to make it right, instead they charge me for every little modification possible. Mocha in wife's coffee $1. Shot of espresso in my coffee $3. Almond milk in coffee $2. Add cheese to burrito $2. My son's side dish that immediately went to waste $8. I'm actually shocked we didn't get charged $1 per to-go box. Ordered food for 2-3 people, no alcohol, and it was over $120 before tip. I can forgive the poor service but tallying the bill for every grain of salt brought to the table? Yea, no. This visit to the Greenery was awesome. Stopped by at 9:30 on a Monday. The wait was relatively short. Scored a high top outdoors. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was nice. The coffee was good. Our entrees were excellent. My brother and I split the breakfast burrito and the hash and American omelette. They were both awesome. The toast was great. I can tell you from previous visits not to sleep on the muffins- they're terrific. The pace of the meal was leisurely, which is perfect for vacation. My favorite breakfast spot in OGT. This place is very cute. I went by earlier today around 8am and there were people, but it wasn't crazy. My server was very nice and it's a chill vibe. I can see where it probably gets crazy in the Summer though. I ordered the greenery breakfast, a single pancake, 2 diet cokes, and a small milk. Everything was yummy. My bacon was a little overdone for how I like it, but no foul to them as I didn't specify. People kept coming in just for the muffins so, I was persuaded to get one to-go! Everything came to $38.87 which for me is a little pricey however, I would honestly come back and eat here again. I did try the muffin when I got home and it was yummy. I'd say of the ones I've had that weren't home made - it was solid. I like mine a bit more sweet however, their muffins are not dry and I can't tell you how rare that is. We had an awesome breakfast at The Greenery Cafe. It was Mother's Day and we were in town and, despite the holiday, our wait was only 10 minutes. They allow you to eat with your dog as long as you're on their outside patio. We ordered the: breakfast burrito, the crab saratoga, and the morning blt. I couldn't decided between the crab saratoga or the maple walnut French toast. Our server said I could substitute the toast that comes with the crab saratoga with a half order of the French toast so I was able to try both. My favorite was the morning blt it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend that sandwich. The maple French toast was my second favorite. The crab saratoga I ordered based off all the other reviews but it was just ok to me. Not bad but wouldn't order again. Service could've been a bit better; our server was nice but she barely checked on us, took a long time to take our order, and we had to ask for everything (more water, napkins, plates etc) but to be fair it was busy. They even gave our dog a piece of bacon just because he was a good boy. read more

We had to drive though on errands and decided to stop for a coffee and a nibble. The bakery items were plentiful and my scone was yummy. Too many options. Ha ha I can be picky about my iced coffee and when you get your iced coffee and all the ice has melted. Well, it is no longer iced coffee but tepid coffee. I haven't stopped coming to The Greenery Cafe in Ogunquit for over seven years and it's time I share my experience. During the first six years, my visits were clockwork to my favorite cafe every 2-3 months, I'd eat there at the bar with Steph(everyone's favorite) 1-3 times per trip. After a two year hiatus from my job, I glowingly(!!!!) returned to the G Cafe and expected (and DID) find that the cafe remains the hidden gem I've always cherished. My go to dishes are the crab Benedict, breakfast burrito, and huevos rancheros. Each is always amazing and it makes it hard to branch out to other menu items. The freshness and quality you guys!!!! Dining solo as a business traveler, I prefer sitting at the bar. Steph ALWAYS keeps me comfy and her friendly demeanor adds a personal touch that enhances the overall experience. As I enjoyed my meal the other day, I overheard (not exaggerating) three other patrons exclaim that it was the best brunch they've ever had. Im really happy for them because they all deserve it, every time I've been here I feel the same! The Greenery Cafe offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for both solo meals and gatherings(It gets so busy, Ive only seen it slow a few times and that's because i visit year round in the off season- ITS WORTH A LITTLE WAIT IF YOU HAVE TO!). This place was SLAMMED! 45 minute wait. It was well worth it! Our food was DELICIOUS. My mom got a monte cristo, and she said it couldn't have been any better. I got a western omelette, it was really good. They make all their pastries and bread, to my knowledge. Everything was good. Our server was kind and running around like crazy! Driving by on our way to Footbridge beach when we saw an overflowing parking lot. We decided to check it out. Wow what a beautiful little cafe with extraordinary hand painted pictures worth a pretty penny. We ordered a couple of sandwiches with a side of hash browns. I decided on a cheese burger with provolone & my bride a turkey BLT on sourdough bread. My burger was ok it did come out medium rare as I had asked for but it was obvious the burger came out of a box pre made. Son the other hand a BLT with homemade Turkey on sourdough was a huge sandwich and very very good. We normally come to The Greenery every summer while vacationing in Ogunquit. I feel awful saying this is probably our last time coming. A plus: our waitress was incredibly nice and kind. Maybe it was because it was the day after July 4th, but my omelette was served incorrectly to me 3 different times. The first time the waitress came over with an order that wasn't my family's. The second time my omelette had ham throughout (I'm a vegetarian). The third time my omelette was served to me, the vegetables in it were not the vegetables I chose. My husband's eggs Benedict was served to him, and he finished his entire meal--took him 20 mins--yet the rest of us had zero food. Our meals came incredibly late. Our waitress thought we could receive a discount or compensation for the difficulty. The check came--no compensation. Is this a problem with management? When so many errors are made, customers typically expect something to apologize for the terrible experience. We sadly can't imagine returning. read more

QUICK POINTS: 1) They lack knowledge of what ingredients are in the food they're serving. 2) Waitress was kind and attentive, but lacked clear communication skills. 3) No dairy-free cheese options. 4) latte with almond milk was "ick". Probably the brand of almond milk. 5) No Dairy-Free pastries or muffins. They don't know what's in the food they're serving: I expected a place called "The Greenery" to be more conscious and knowledgeable about their ingredients of the food they're serving. I asked if the bread bread for the burger had dairy in it, she went and asked and said they didn't know because it came from an outside source... I feel it's really irresponsible to have no idea what ingredients are in the food you're serving your customers. Waitress was kind and attentive in checking in on me, however, there were a couple points in conversation that I felt like she lacked transparency or a willingness/ability to be clear and avoid confusion. Example - I asked for maple syrup in my latte. She asked if I wanted table syrup or real Maine syrup. In my mind, they were just going to add that to my latte while making it like every other place I order it at, so I chose the Maine syrup. But instead a little unopened bottle of maple syrup arrived with my latte, and I got the feeling I was going to have to pay for the whole bottle... I asked and yes, $4.50 for the bottle. She could have just presented the cost with her statement and it would have saved us all time and the annoyance of her lack of transparency. They kindly put the veggie burger on a wrap - and it tasted Great. It came with choice of side salad & Dairy-Free dressing, which tasted fresh and great as well. There are no Dairy-Free cheese options, which is fine, just letting you know. The water tasted good, which is rare at restaurants. My latte was ick. I'm pretty sure it was almond milk that made it taste watery and chalky. I'm guessing they use Nature's Promise brand, that usually has the chalky/watery taste. They charge a $1 for a to-Go cup for coffee, which I think is fair as we all should all be moving toward reusable things anyways. No Dairy-Free pastry options. They have a Lot of pastry options, but none of them are dairy-free. read more

Just the right amount of seasoning for the Hollandaise sauce and creamy, shredded potatoes were lightly seasoned and browned on top (nice and crunchy). My husband had fried eggs, bacon, shredded potatoes and one Maine blueberry pancake. However they make their pancakes they're a winner, we both agreed, best ever. I love breakfast! This place offers so much for someone like me who loves having eggs, muffins and pancakes! This is a busy place! It is first come first serve. But it is worth the wait. They do not make egg omelet but offer it scrambled style. I ordered egg white scramble with 1 blueberry pancake. I had to get the blueberry flavor because I am in Maine! It was so good! Looooved my breakfast experience here at the Greenery Cafe! When we came there was luckily no wait but Ive read that it can get very busy here so be prepared! I ordered the original benny w/grilled ham and it was one of the best I ever had. I'm picky with my hollandase sauce and the ways the eggs are cooked but this was perfect. With a little hot sauce on top, wow. I wish I lived closer. They also serve it with some hash browns which was nice. They also seem to be well known for their muffins which are homemade and made daily! I got their cinnamon coffee cake muffin to go and it was delicious. Mine was still warm too as the batch had just come out so bonus!! So fresh, so sweet, so good. It was hard to choose as all of the flavors looked great but I was more than pleased with my choice. Hands down some of the best breakfast foods I've eaten. The crab Saratoga was DEVINE. The flavors that danced around in my mouth just made me happy. The last time I came I got the lobster Benedict and would say it is one of the best I've ever had. My friends had the crab cake Benedict and absolutely devoured it. The muffins definitely are also amazing, filled with delicious cream for the Boston cream. The service was fine, our waitress was nice enough.
