Substituting a slice of tomato instead of bacon for a vegetarian should not be an additional $.75 but if you must, then tell the customer when ordering. The "wait for the whole party" to be seated for a party of two is 'kinda' silly. One could just say one person and have a cup of coffee and peruse the great menu. Making one person wait especially when there are three open two tops is not, in my opinion, good service. And a customer does not want to hear, "I just work here I don't make the rules". I waitressed many a summer in Kennebunk and good customer communication is absolutely necessary. I commend the server who did seat me as it was my first visit to the new restaurant. This bakery has just the right balance of unpretentiousness with the finer things in life. For starters, it's by Ogunquit beach, so right there the ambiance is pretty amazing. Getting a generous breakfast sandwich to go and eating it to the soundtrack of the waves is a Maine delicacy. The toughest part about going in this bakery is a toss-up between waiting in line, as there is sure to be one, and having to choose your selection. The variety baked goods is so extensive that it always takes me a few minutes just to get my bearings. Arguably the best part, if you happen to be lucky enough to snag a seat in the cafe, is that the walls feature local artists. Enjoying a pastry next to a masterpiece is certainly a fine way to start the day in my opinion. This bakery draws an amazing crowd. I dined near a family who spoke Norwegian, which is a nod to the greatest educational system in the world here in the U.S., or perhaps the magnetism of this bakery to pull travelers from far and wide. I liked this place... I didn't love it. It was so crowded. It was absolute chaos. In my opinion, going out for coffee shouldn't be a stressful experience. This felt stressful. My husband asked for an egg sandwich on a bagel and was told the egg sandwiches were premade on croissants. The woman clearly did not want to make one fresh on a bagel and pressured him into getting something he didn't want. I will say the cinnamon chip scone was outstanding. Highly recommend. The coffee was good. Our entrees were excellent. My brother and I split the breakfast burrito and the hash and American omelette. They were both awesome. The toast was great. This place is very cute. I went by earlier today around 8am and there were people, but it wasn't crazy. My server was very nice and it's a chill vibe. I can see where it probably gets crazy in the Summer though. I ordered the greenery breakfast, a single pancake, 2 diet cokes, and a small milk. Everything was yummy. My bacon was a little overdone for how I like it, but no foul to them as I didn't specify. People kept coming in just for the muffins so, I was persuaded to get one to-go! Everything came to $38.87 which for me is a little pricey however, I would honestly come back and eat here again. I did try the muffin when I got home and it was yummy. I'd say of the ones I've had that weren't home made - it was solid. I like mine a bit more sweet however, their muffins are not dry and I can't tell you how rare that is. We had an awesome breakfast at The Greenery Cafe. It was Mother's Day and we were in town and, despite the holiday, our wait was only 10 minutes. They allow you to eat with your dog as long as you're on their outside patio. We ordered the: breakfast burrito, the crab saratoga, and the morning blt. I couldn't decided between the crab saratoga or the maple walnut French toast. Our server said I could substitute the toast that comes with the crab saratoga with a half order of the French toast so I was able to try both. My favorite was the morning blt it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend that sandwich. The maple French toast was my second favorite. The crab saratoga I ordered based off all the other reviews but it was just ok to me. Not bad but wouldn't order again. Service could've been a bit better; our server was nice but she barely checked on us, took a long time to take our order, and we had to ask for everything (more water, napkins, plates etc) but to be fair it was busy. They even gave our dog a piece of bacon just because he was a good boy. read more

I haven't stopped coming to The Greenery Cafe in Ogunquit for over seven years and it's time I share my experience. During the first six years, my visits were clockwork to my favorite cafe every 2-3 months, I'd eat there at the bar with Steph(everyone's favorite) 1-3 times per trip. After a two year hiatus from my job, I glowingly(!!!!) returned to the G Cafe and expected (and DID) find that the cafe remains the hidden gem I've always cherished. My go to dishes are the crab Benedict, breakfast burrito, and huevos rancheros. Each is always amazing and it makes it hard to branch out to other menu items. The freshness and quality you guys!!!! Dining solo as a business traveler, I prefer sitting at the bar. Steph ALWAYS keeps me comfy and her friendly demeanor adds a personal touch that enhances the overall experience. As I enjoyed my meal the other day, I overheard (not exaggerating) three other patrons exclaim that it was the best brunch they've ever had. Im really happy for them because they all deserve it, every time I've been here I feel the same! Walking distance from my motel so I visited mid week in June for a breakfast burrito about 730AM. Busy but with empty tables. I was alone and got seated at a two top quickly. Waitress was nice but accidentally overlooked me - water and coffee went first to the couple next to me who were seated after me. I had to get her attention, she apologized for forgetting the drinks and was pleasant. She then asked me if I wanted my check less than 10 minutes after I was served and at that point I kept an eye on my watch. I asked for a refill on water and it was a little awkward. I walked out the door 15 minutes after she asked me if I wanted the check, so maybe 25 minutes after being served and with the feeling that I had overstayed my welcome. I paid $28 for the food and a mug of coffee with tip and had the strong feeling that I overstayed my welcome. As a person who earns $25 an hour it's a big deal to go out for breakfast and this experience felt bad. I ordered the burrito without sausage and it was very bland; so maybe the usual seasoning didn't work without sausage. Hash browns, shredded potato style, were forgettable...not raw but also not especially well cooked or seasoned. Syscoesque guacamole, sourcream,pico on the side. More of a bakery pancake/waffle/place than eggs. Def not a burrito place. read more

Driving by on our way to Footbridge beach when we saw an overflowing parking lot. We decided to check it out. Wow what a beautiful little cafe with extraordinary hand painted pictures worth a pretty penny. We ordered a couple of sandwiches with a side of hash browns. I decided on a cheese burger with provolone & my bride a turkey BLT on sourdough bread. My burger was ok it did come out medium rare as I had asked for but it was obvious the burger came out of a box pre made. Son the other hand a BLT with homemade Turkey on sourdough was a huge sandwich and very very good. I feel it's really irresponsible to have no idea what ingredients are in the food you're serving your customers. Waitress was kind and attentive in checking in on me, however, there were a couple points in conversation that I felt like she lacked transparency or a willingness/ability to be clear and avoid confusion. Example - I asked for maple syrup in my latte. She asked if I wanted table syrup or real Maine syrup. In my mind, they were just going to add that to my latte while making it like every other place I order it at, so I chose the Maine syrup. But instead a little unopened bottle of maple syrup arrived with my latte, and I got the feeling I was going to have to pay for the whole bottle... I asked and yes, $4.50 for the bottle. She could have just presented the cost with her statement and it would have saved us all time and the annoyance of her lack of transparency. They kindly put the veggie burger on a wrap - and it tasted Great. It came with choice of side salad & Dairy-Free dressing, which tasted fresh and great as well. There are no Dairy-Free cheese options, which is fine, just letting you know. The water tasted good, which is rare at restaurants. My latte was ick. I'm pretty sure it was almond milk that made it taste watery and chalky. I'm guessing they use Nature's Promise brand, that usually has the chalky/watery taste. They charge a $1 for a to-Go cup for coffee, which I think is fair as we all should all be moving toward reusable things anyways. No Dairy-Free pastry options. They have a Lot of pastry options, but none of them are dairy-free. read more

I love breakfast! This place offers so much for someone like me who loves having eggs, muffins and pancakes! This is a busy place! It is first come first serve. But it is worth the wait. They do not make egg omelet but offer it scrambled style. I ordered egg white scramble with 1 blueberry pancake. I had to get the blueberry flavor because I am in Maine! It was so good!
