I stopped in for a sandwich; I ordered a turkey, cheddar, and avocado sandwich on a roll. There was no one in line ahead of me, yet somehow it took them 30 minutes to make my sandwich. The sandwich itself was terrible. It contained a single slice of meat and cheese, and barely any avocado. However, they did not skimp on the mayo- there was roughly 4 tablespoons of mayonnaise on my sandwich. The entire thing tasted like mayonnaise and bread. As the band Rush sang "Begin the day with a friendly voice..." THAT is what you hear as you walk in! Their Great Team helped me this morning in my first visit to the Rollover. I ordered the Tail Wagger Wrap and server "Cashier S" gave me a buzzer thingy. I put together my ice coffee and went outside to find a seat. Didn't sit down as me buzzer went off! It was busy this staff was on it! As I went back inside I said "Bingo" and the friendly face I saw on FaceBook said it's my lucky day and I better go get a lottery ticket! So fast and DELISH !! Food was ok. We were really hungry and that was the first place we saw. They air fried their chicken tenders so it was kind of dry. The subs are small, but flavorful. Got the California paninis, it was good for the first bite, but then you'll realize there's no pesto flavor, chicken is frozen precooked type. I stopped at this cafe after finding in here (Yelp) that it offered free WiFi. I was in desperate need of service due to an emergency that happened just as I had to check out of our AirBnB. The clerk that took my order told me that the WiFi was not for customers and that them could not give me the password. So, it is either false advertisement or an ill-informed employee. Looking for a little breakfast to take with me on a hike, I stopped by Rollover Cafe on a Friday morning around 9:30am and it was SUPER busy. Good for them... bad for customers trying to find parking. They only have about three spots in front, and the rest (on the side of, and behind the, building are for other businesses with extremely threatening tow-away signs). But, you're right on the ocean in a super touristy area, so this is to be expected. The space itself is tiny. A couple tables inside (which were mostly being used for people waiting for their order), and a few more outside (where you can sit with your pup). The staff was extraordinary. That's what stood out the most for me. They were patient and friendly to every single person in line, and the queue was out the door! Seriously awesome customer experience, let me tell you! I didn't feel rushed asking a million questions when it was my turn, and that's because the staff does such a good job turning around food in a timely manner (meaning the wait isn't as long as it could be). I got the: + Coconut coffee: believe the hype! I got this because everyone else seemed to recommend it. Only when I went to order the girl asked if I wanted the coconut coffee or a shot of the coconut flavor. Having no idea what she meant, I got both with soy milk. It was hypercoconutty, but delicious. A little too sweet for me, but that's my own fault. PRO TIP: skip the flavor shot, and go right for the brew itself! (Although, I saw regulars coming in and order coffee with shots of pistachio which I had never heard of before... yum?). + Cinnamon twist: this was a last minute decision. As I was going to pay, I saw these oblong shaped cinnamon rolls covered in a thick layer of icing and knew I needed them in my life. SO GLAD I got one! It tasted like the sinful, thick, rich cinnamon rolls of my youth. And, it held up super well throughout my travels (read: it stayed in my car for hours in the heat and didn't melt... so, yes, magic is one of the ingredients). - The Fetch breakfast sandwich: I got this egg, pepperjack cheese, and roasted red pepper sandwich sans the ham. I LOVED that it was made with two eggs instead of one making it both filling and worth the price tag (it, too, held up really well in my backpack after a couple miles of hiking), but it was in desperate need of some salt, and the pepperjack cheese didn't taste like pepperjack at all. Coconut coffee and a cinnamon twist is all you need in life. Sugar and caffeine, baby! read more

This is our everyday breakfast spot when we're in Wells Beach, Maine. We've been coming to Maine for the last several years and while plenty of things change from year to year, one thing that fantastically remains the same is Rollover Cafe. The service is always stellar. Staff is extremely friendly and every single item they serve is delicious with a touch of homemade taste. I highly recommend any of their muffins or other baked goods. Visited this place with our dog. Was pleased to find really good bold flavored coffee (read not watery weak stuff here!) They have delicious cinnamon twists for humans and lovely very reasonably sized cookies for your four legged pal along with water hose and dish for dog too. Outdoor seating only if bringing Fido which was what drew me here in the first place but to be honest would return for the coffee and warm gooey cinnamon twist. Just don't tell my dog! read more

This place gets 5 stars for being dog friendly (patio only) and 3 stars for food/coffee, which leads me to a 4-star rating. You can sit with your dog out on the patio, where there are about 6-8 tables. I went on a Saturday morning around 9am and it was busy but not packed. They have "dog hitch" hooks that you can thread a leash through to secure your pup, which is great! And the staff come by and give all-natural treats to the dogs. These two details are what separates it from any old cafe that simply allows dogs to sit outside (which many in Maine do). Note that dogs aren't allowed inside and that's where you need to order, so if you're on your own, you'll need to tie your dog up outside (or leave him/her in the car) while you order. You'll order inside, and they'll give you a little plastic pup cut out with a name like "Ace" or "Sparky". Then the waitstaff will deliver your food to you outside by calling out the pup name. I had the "Fetch" breakfast sandwich, which includes egg, pepper jack cheese, and roasted red pepper on an English muffin, and coconut coffee. I also got a blueberry muffin for the road. Everything was pretty good but not great. Satisfying but not something I'd necessarily go back for. I was visiting Wells with my boyfriend, and because we frequented this place 3 times a day, I thought a review was deserved. They nail iced coffee here. There are several flavored to chose from, including pistachio and French vanilla. They have an assortment of muffins, which they claim to bake every morning. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to buy breakfast or lunch, but they serve both. We loved the iced coffee so much we kept on going back! $7.75 for a chicken salad sandwich? It was a sub roll full of iceberg lettuce and maybe 2 tablespoons of chicken salad. I picked up the sandwich and all the chicken salad fell out leaving me with a lettuce sandwich. Maybe they should eat one of their own creations before serving. Worst sandwich ever. Worst value. Unassuming exterior, masks a gem of cafe. The gelato and sorbetto is out of this world - sampled the chocolate noir and strawberry. Both were transporting. The chicken sandwich with avocado and raisins the best. The lobster rolls are prepared as they should be with the focus on the lobster and just a touch of mayo.
