When I got home, my husband was understandably disappointed that I had to pay out of pocket when the gift card was intended to cover the experience. I called the following day to inquire about the difference and was informed that the Self-Care Package must be paid for in advance in order to receive the package pricing. While I understand policies are important, this requirement was never mentioned when I booked the appointment, despite my specifically requesting the package and informing staff that I would be using a gift card. I also reviewed the website and was unable to find any information indicating that advance payment was required to receive the package rate. From a customer service perspective, this was disappointing. I booked the exact services included in the package and clearly requested that package when scheduling. Had I been informed of the advance payment requirement, I could have addressed it at that time. Instead, I was charged approximately $30 more for the same services. Given the circumstances--and especially after I called to explain that the package was chosen because the gift card amount closely matched the package price--I would have appreciated some flexibility or consideration.
