Got there at 7:30pm on 5/24/26, waited forever to put in food order and server seemed to be writing and getting our orders wrong. Waited an hour. Was told sorry for the wait and that the kitchen was behind all day by the server. Waited 10 plus more minutes another guy comes and says sorry almost done just needs cheese on burgers. ANOTHER 10 minutes, still no sign of food no manager like asked. Food comes out, salad was ordered with no blue cheese, guess what's on it, blue cheese. Protein was shrimp instead of chicken like clearly ordered on burrito bowl. Manager and staff barely say anything and all the manager could say was "how can we make it better for you" no offering of apologies, or money back, or reasoning. Just said that he could box our WRONG orders up for us. We all walked out. Was not busy at all for a Saturday night and no reason for all of this time and food to be wasted. Ordered sampler platter and boneless wings to-go late at night as this is one of the few places in Shippensburg open late. The pierogis and sliders were good, but the wings were very underwhelming. I came here around 1 pm for lunch. There were about three other tables of customers. We all had the same server. She was very nice but seemed new as she had to come back and ask a few times what we ordered. I was also disappointed a beer made for their restaurant was not available. I got the Arooga boli and it was okay. It was about $15 but not very large and it seemed overcooked and the meats were burnt. The clam chowder was average. Not too chewy. The garlic parm boneless wings were CAKED in sauce. There was literally a moat of sauce underneath the wings. read more

We came here as a party of four about 5pm on Memorial Day. It was not very busy and we were seated right away at a table in the bar area. Arooga's is a smaller chain of about 20 locations in the Eastern U.S. from RI to FL with most of the locations in the Eastern PA region. It is like a sports bar with a separate bar area from the dining area. The couple we were with were familiar with the menu and helped us with recommendations. We all agreed the menu design is strange with the pages turning different directions - it could definitely be improved. Madison introduced herself and took our drink orders. She also checked on us while we were reviewing the menu and was gracious as we made our decisions. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked great. We all enjoyed our meals and Madison brought my wife a second ice tea with lemon without even being asked which was appreciated. We all enjoyed our food and we had some leftovers to take with us. We also ordered some wings to go which were also brought to us in a timely manner and were well packaged. Madison also encouraged the other couple to sign up for their rewards program since they live in the area. They said they were but never did anything with it. Want to meet up for beer and a game? Great place. Want food, service, value for your money? Keep driving. The front dining area is unclean most days and barely touched others. All while reeking of cigarette smoke. Your food will take forever to come out and it will be cold. Our wings were covered in solidified sauce. Cheese sauce for our pretzel had crusted over. And, to make it an even better experience, they had a single waitress to handle the entire place. Everything about this place tells you management and Arooga's themselves could care less about customer or customer service. Arooga's is a good choice for bar food like wings and fries. I find it to be a little expensive for what you get, and they nickle and dime you a bit. Want extra sauce (because they are skimpy on how much they put on)? That's an upcharge. Extra veggies (because you only get two small pieces of celery and two baby carrots)? Upcharge. They do have a number of good beer specials, including $2.50 Miller Lite pounders everyday. They also have specials on fancier drafts and pitchers, depending on the day. I got a coffee that cost $3. Pretty steep. The service was okay. I had to ask for coffee refills, but our server was a bit overwhelmed as someone had called off. Overall, Arooga's is a fine chain bar experience. You'd be better off with a good local dive, but if it's your only option, it'll suffice. read more

Met family for dinner. First issue was my wife ordered from menu and we were told they did not have that item anymore. We love this place! We've been here 5 or 6 times and its been great every time! The staff is always super friendly. They have really good food & drink specials every month. The menu is EXTENSIVE, with a large variety of appetizers, entrees, desserts, and specialty drinks. It's a GREAT sports bar with 40+ TVs in the bar area alone. I was planning a dinner for our baseball team during a weekend tournament in Shippensburg. I wasn't familiar with the restaurants in the area, but somebody suggested Arooga's. I called a few weeks in advance, and the manager Katie Condon helped me from beginning to end. She coordinated the dinner for 33 people, was pleasant, flexible (we didn't know the exact times our baseball games would end) and helpful in every way. We were a very large group, and each person was ordering different items. The service was phenomenal!!! The tables were set up exactly as I had requested, the ambience was fun, and the food was delicious. I couldn't recommend Arooga's Shippensburg more highly. read more

I made a last minute decision to stop at Arooga's since my pre-determined lunch destination was closed, apparently for good. Not being from Shippensburg, or having ever been here, I hurried to check Yelp and saw this place was pretty close to me. I was nervous about the parking situation, but quickly noticed they have a designated street parking on the side of their building so I pulled in and decided this would be my new lunch stop. Upon entering this establishment I noticed it was quite large. There is a separate dining room and down a short hall an impressive bar area. Since I was solo sitting at the bar made complete sense. I sat down and grabbed a menu. I was approached a short time later by the bartender. Very friendly and respectable. I ordered and Ice Tea and continued to view the menu and narrow down my entrée option. Eventually I decided upon the Cranberry, Walnut, and Spinach salad. It came with candied walnuts, a cage free hardboiled egg, onions, and cherry tomatoes served on a bed of spinach. I added some grilled chicken for an upcharge. The menu described the salad as being served with USDA organic balsamic vinaigrette, sounded good to me. As I waited I amused myself with the plethora of TV's surrounding the bar and room. They were airing the Pittsburgh Pirate game on one TV so I was pretty set as far as entertainment went. The bar, as noted, was large, clean, and modern. I was the only one seated at the bar and I believe there was maybe one or two other tables that were occupied within the bar. I bet this is a happening place on the weekends. A short time later my salad was delivered by another very polite worker, and just in time as I was quite famished. For starters, I felt the salad was a little on the small side for the price ($11.99), and as an entrée. Second, I noticed the hardboiled egg was well overcooked and had that grey tint to the yolk that synonymous with overcooked eggs. Though not what I expected, I decided to go ahead and tear into it anyway. The chicken was cooked nicely and I enjoyed the dressing. They served the dressing on the side and since it was small I only used about a quarter of the dressing. When I had a bite of everything together it was really satisfying, quite delicious actually, but the problem was the salad suffered from an imbalance of ingredients. There were WAY too many cranberries and walnuts, the sweet ingredients, and not enough of the savory or non-sweet ingredients to compliment the salad throughout its entirety. Not long after I was left with a lot of cranberries and walnuts but no spinach, chicken, or other veggie to eat with it. Overload on sweet and it was not very palatable. I was still kind of hungry, but could only eat so many bites of candied walnuts and dried cranberries together before calling it quits. This salad could be a real winner with some tweaking. The atmosphere and service were very nice so this is more of a 3.5 but can't go to a four based on my dish. read more

When we walked in there was a sign saying seat yourself. We grabbed a menu and sat ourselves and waited and waited and waited. Finally my boyfriend got up and found the only waitress working. She told us she was sorry and took our orders. I asked for a water, no lemon, I'm allergic to citrus. Well my water had a lemon, I just picked it out and we waited for our food. We were the only table in the place and I felt like we sat forever and waited for our food. When we finally got our food, everything was good. Nice and hot. I got a meatball hoagie and fries. Not impressed. My buddy and I visited today, he mused whether they had to go catch a cow and a chicken for our meals because our food took so long. Our food finally came, well most of it ... his cheesesteak came out with no fries. My chicken fingers came with fries and I had to wait for our server to reappear to get ketchup and pepper. Absolutely terrible! Was greeted in at 6:00 pm by a very unhappy hostess. A few minutes go by and the waiter who is clueless tells us we must vacate by 7:00 pm due to an upcoming power outage. There was no sign on the door to let any customers know. We ordered our drinks and they arrived almost 10 minutes later. The waiter spilled the orange off the one beer that was never cleaned up under my seat. The orange was also never replaced. We were forced to pay for our food before food arrived and they forgot items. Food was delivered at 6:53. Absolutely terrible place I do not recommend this place to anyone.
