Went here for homecoming as I hadn't been to Shippensburg in years. The waitress was completely overwhelmed and scattered. I for the life of me couldn't understand why they didn't have more staff on deck. The food and drinks were ok, the main thing on their side is affordability

Always a good spot to watch the games when I come down to take my college kid out on a NFL Sunday. Good food...good service...good prices.

Ordered sampler platter and boneless wings to-go late at night as this is one of the few places in Shippensburg open late. The pierogis and sliders were good, but the wings were very underwhelming. Nothing special food wise, but satisfied those late night cravings without going to a chain fast food location.

We came here as a party of four about 5pm on Memorial Day. It was not very busy and we were seated right away at a table in the bar area. Arooga's is a smaller chain of about 20 locations in the Eastern U.S. from RI to FL with most of the locations in the Eastern PA region. It is like a sports bar with a separate bar area from the dining area. The couple we were with were familiar with the menu and helped us with recommendations. We all agreed the menu design is strange with the pages turning different directions - it could definitely be improved. Madison introduced herself and took our drink orders. She also checked on us while we were reviewing the menu and was gracious as we made our decisions. Our food arrived in a timely manner and looked great. We all enjoyed our meals and Madison brought my wife a second ice tea with lemon without even being asked which was appreciated. We all enjoyed our food and we had some leftovers to take with us. We also ordered some wings to go which were also brought to us in a timely manner and were well packaged. Madison also encouraged the other couple to sign up for their rewards program since they live in the area. They said they were but never did anything with it. When Madison punched in their number, they discovered they had earned enough for a free T-shirt from their last visit. Overall it was a great experience and we would recommend to others.

    3 Floyd's zombie dust.

Nicest Arooga's I've been in, beer selection was a little rough , found a 3 Floyd's zombie dust that was excellent, and paired it with ghost pepper wings. They were good just kind of small. All and all a solid 4 of 5 for sports bar. Needs bigger wings , tv's and some more local beers. But in a college town I'm sure lite and bud move well .

Arooga's is a good choice for bar food like wings and fries. I find it to be a little expensive for what you get, and they nickle and dime you a bit. Want extra sauce (because they are skimpy on how much they put on)? That's an upcharge. Extra veggies (because you only get two small pieces of celery and two baby carrots)? Upcharge. They do have a number of good beer specials, including $2.50 Miller Lite pounders everyday. They also have specials on fancier drafts and pitchers, depending on the day. I got a coffee that cost $3. Pretty steep. The service was okay. I had to ask for coffee refills, but our server was a bit overwhelmed as someone had called off. Overall, Arooga's is a fine chain bar experience. You'd be better off with a good local dive, but if it's your only option, it'll suffice.

A couple more premium burgers are $7.50. Knute's has a great selection of beer on tap. More than you're basic Coors, Miller, or Bud. You can try microbrews from around the country. Sometimes you'll get lucky enough to be there on pint night where you get to keep a glass of their feature brewery! The service has always been great. Servers are getting to know us well and recognize us when we come in. Even when they're slammed busy we get prompt attention with a friendly demeanor. This place is located in a college town, so you will see college students at any given time. However, you'll also see couples, families, and even kids. It's never gotten rowdy. The food is pretty tasty. You can get a burger cooked well-done and it's tender and juicy. Fries are really good. They offer other menu items, but we've always gotten burgers. I did have a Reuben a couple of times that was awesome. Regular menu items are a bit pricey I think, and the menu isn't overly large. However, we go for burger day on Thursdays. Our burgers always come out hot and fresh. Other peoples' meals always look tasty, too. Knute's has a deck and an upstairs area for larger groups. They'll also feature entertainment on weekends. I'd recommend Knute's, especially for burger Thursdays! Have a nice cold beer and a hot, juicy burger. Good stuff.

As I understand it is under new management and ownership but is being held down by old ratings. Please only pay attention to the new ratings. My experience started with the fact the place is very cute, quiet, romantic, and quaint. I really like the lights and the local postcards on the walls establishing a sense of place. I had the cheese steak which had some unique cheeses and other ingredients including horseradish aioli and peppers. It was a very tasty new take on a classic. Could use a bit more aioli and seasoning. But it was very good and the portion was huge. My wife had the soup of the day and enjoyed it. we also had a Ceasar salad.. and that is what it is. I LOVE them but you can't really rate such a standard. The service was amazing and the waitress and all other staff were completely on point. The food came out quick, and if I am in town again I WILL eat here again. I would love to try some of the dinner entrees.

I had never even HEARD of Maplewood Farm Market until the internet recommended it as a side quest…read moreduring one of my adventures. I was headed toward Chambersburg and looking for somewhere directly along my route where I could pick up some homemade baked goods. Maplewood was the highest-rated recommendation, so around 5pm on a Thursday evening, I decided to investigate. When I pulled in, there were only a few cars in the parking lot, which surprised me considering the size of the farm market, greenhouses and everything else spread around the property. I snagged a spot right out front, walked through the doors and immediately realized I had SEVERELY underestimated this place. IT WAS HUGE! And not just "big farm market" huge. This was a full-blown food wonderland. There was a deli loaded with meats, cheeses and prepared foods, a made-to-order grill with sandwiches, soups and fried foods, an enormous bakery section, a mini grocery store with shelf-stable goods and baking supplies and a huge produce area with bins overflowing with beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables. I definitely had not budgeted enough time for this side quest! Unfortunately, I was on a timeline and had arrived with a very specific mission: find some kind of homemade peanut butter baked good to take along on my adventure. Which brings me to my one and only complaint about Maplewood Farm Market. THERE WERE TOO MANY PEANUT BUTTER OPTIONS! Listen. Peanut butter represents approximately 63.8% of my personality. You cannot put me in front of an entire bakery case filled with peanut butter things and expect me to make responsible decisions. I wandered around the bakery section for nearly 20 MINUTES trying to choose one thing. Every time I thought I'd made my decision, I'd find something else involving peanut butter and have to start the entire internal debate over again. Eventually, I accepted defeat. I bought three. My haul included a chocolate whoopie pie with peanut butter filling, a chocolate chip cookie sandwich with peanut butter filling and a refrigerated peanut butter Oreo pie that was honestly shockingly beautiful. I carried my little peanut butter rampage to the register fully prepared to accept the financial consequences of my behavior. The cashier rang everything up. "$6.37." Excuse me? I actually did a double take. THREE enormous homemade-looking bakery treats for $6.37?! In THIS economy?! I almost felt like I should quietly take my bag and leave before somebody realized there had been a terrible mistake. To say Maplewood's prices are reasonable would be a severe understatement. I couldn't believe how much I walked out with for barely more than six bucks, especially considering the size and quality of everything I'd picked. And yes, the baked goods absolutely lived up to their appearances! The chocolate and peanut butter combinations delivered exactly what Future Me had hoped for when she made the executive decision to buy all three instead of choosing like a functioning adult. My biggest regret from this visit is simply that I didn't have enough time. I came looking for a baked-good pit stop and accidentally discovered a place where I could easily spend an hour wandering through the bakery, deli, produce, grocery and prepared-food sections before grabbing lunch or dinner from the grill. What started as an internet-recommended stop for something sweet turned into one of those fantastic little adventure discoveries that immediately earns a spot on my "How did I not know this existed?!" list. I'll absolutely be back! Next time, I'm budgeting more time. Probably also more than $6.37!

I knew the brisket was pulled and not sliced when I ordered. The brisket was the driest least flavorful brisket I have had in a long long time and I regretted my meal choice instantly. The sandwich was large and overstuffed which would have been great, except it meant I had to eat a lot of the dried out meat on its own. Even worse the amount of sauce provided was pathetic. If I had a decent amount of sauce it may have hidden the poor meat. Overall I give the brisket sandwich 1 star and do not recommend it to anyone. Another point that was a bummer was neither my sandwich or Mac and cheese were hot. Eating half cold food that's dried out is ok at a backyard bbq but when paying $15 for lunch I am looking for something of higher quality.
