So glad I found this place when the power went out where I was staying nearby! It's adorably bright and cheery, with delicious drinks and a small but yummy selection of snacks. The decor looks straight out of a Pinterest board for cute cafes - all white and natural woods and indoor plants. I'm a tea drinker so I was delighted to see tea lattes prominently featured on their drinks menu. The milk tea latte was incredibly creamy. Hubby got a hot chocolate and an ube oreo doughnut (which of course I stole a bite of - yum!) Best of all was watching the constant stream of folks stopping by throughout the day. Half of them were regulars, who the super nice Korean baristas recognized and chatted with. Some of the regulars were owners and employees of local business. I love seeing a small business community supporting each other! The other half were neighbors who didn't have power, trying Around out for the first time, who were treated with equal respect and friendliness. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area again, hopefully in warmer weather when I can try a blended bubble tea. read more

We were probably the few who were sad when Fiore Cafe closed down; come on-back in the day they were the only place to get bubble tea and my flowering teas in the NW burbs! Thankfully Around Cafe took it's place! The vibe is definitely more hip and cool and I love the simple, clean, cute decor. The coffee is 100x better and I usually end up getting the lavender latte. Sometimes I stray from the coffee buzz and get the green tea latte. Everything I get is always delicious. After all these years my 11 yr old daughter still misses the bubble tea from Fiore and is not a fan of the Around version-I don't agree with her though haha! The other reason I come here are their ube donuts; they are the bomb! So glad I don't have to go all the way to Gurnee to get my ube donut fix! I wish there are more cafes like Around in the burbs, it sure beats those nasty Starbucks at every freakin corner around here! read more

This place is right by the train tracks. It's very cute, modern and small, but has a very welcoming atmosphere. There's not much seating. There's free 2hr street parking. The woman who helped with my order was very sweet/helpful. I wish I got her name! The espresso green tea latte was very good. It wasn't overly sweet. It has the right balance of a smooth, light acid, just the right amount of sweetness and creamy drink. The old fashioned donut hit the spot too. A great place to stop in by downtown Arlington Heights Just north of the tracks, Around Cafe has been my go to place to relax and refresh after work for quite a while now. I'm not a morning person, but when I wake up early enough, I try to stop in before going to work. I really enjoy the ambiance of this cafe. It's always had a clean and simple decor, but it's also been cool to see the evolution. I remember people complained about not having enough tables and seating, and not having food, and the cafe has made changes to try to accommodate the requests. I really enjoy some of the original items available here. I really liked the coffee avocado and 12 grain drinks. The 12 grain drink is based on a Korean snack if I recall correctly, so it's actually surprisingly tasty and I had a bit of nostalgia when I had it. My biggest complaint is that I don't like to drink coffee from other places anymore because they don't compare. read more

Such a charming little cafe! I love how bright and chic it is inside. Reminds me of something Joanna would design on Fixer Upper! I had about an hour in between meetings and this was a great spot to park it with my lap top and indulge in something tasty. I ordered the lavender latte with almond milk and a red velvet donut, because... how could you not?! Both sounded so dreamy and delicious and oh were they. The lavender latte was unlike anything I've ever had. Such a smooth sipping beverage. The lavender hint was spot on and not overbearing at all. And that red velvet donut...um, YUM. If I were to get my aura read, I believe that it would radiate lavender lattes and ube-flavored everything. So of course, my aura loved Around Cafe. Parking is a bit crappy, so we parked in the garage a few blocks down the road. When we got there, I ordered the YOU KNOW WHAT to drink and an ube donut. Hubs got a dirty chai latte and a blueberry donut. We were both so unbelievably happy with our orders, which never happens - usually one of us has buyer's remorse on what we got. Does anyone know where they get their donuts? I must have missed it. They're legit. I've had many a donut in my day and they're definitely at the top. I LOVE that they serve Dark Matter and Stumptown coffees, which are two of my faves. The lavender latte is obviously a slam dunk but the dirty chai is nothing to sneeze at either. Just go here. The cafe isn't the most spacious but interior is very well done! I would definitely say its photo-worthy! (Which I'd best leave for someone other than me) .. this cafe has a Scandinavian like white and light woody decor and and a great corner cafe to do some work, study, or catch up with friends! There's just a few desks that can be used for studying or doing work, unless you don't mind the window bar seats. Their wifi is pretty fast and they have outlets on the opposite sides of the wall which I think is sufficient for the space provided. The music and mood has a chill vibe to it. I sat here a lot longer doing work than I thought and I was totally comfortable! My drink review: I got a green tea latte which I thought had the perfect amount of sweetness. The drink was smooth but I felt it was a little more watered down than other places I've tried. The parking around this area is a free 2hr street parking and pretty easy to find. Staff were very friendly and offered options/recommendations for customers in a caring way, which I love to see! Would I come back? Absolutely! I want to try a few more drinks. read more

The barista was super sweet and friendly with just the most genuine smile ever. I started my day with a nitro cold brew which was delicious. I love how she recommended drinking it without a straw, the way it should be enjoyed. Then I talked to her about the pour over products they were selling. My cousin arrived and also adored this place. Great music not too loud or distracting. Just the right vibe. We then walked over to the little wall with spa items and has some fun checking those out. When I was about to leave I decided to get their shakeratto. Crushed ice with espresso and simple syrup shaken up. Super delicious I will absolutely be back as many times as I can. So happy that AH has another coffee shop option. They serve Stumptown Coffee which is so good. They also serve a variety of lattes, nitro cold brew, smoothies, tea, etc. the vanilla latte is really good and beats out Starbucks in price and taste (and this is coming from an admitted Starbucks addict). They also started to carry pastries from local bakeries. Lately they have been offering donuts/pound cake from Gurnee Donuts. The Ube donut is really good, purple sweet potato dough and coconut topping. The people that work there are so incredibly sweet and kind. I have come in with my daughters and they always are sweet and talk to them. They even help with the door on our way out (due to the stroller). So very happy for this place! What is this?! An independent coffee shop in the north suburbs?! This is unheard of. It's a welcomed addition to Arlington Heights. This is your classic corner coffee shop. As you've probably noticed from the other comments, this place uses Stumptown beans. That doesn't mean much to me though. Good beans are only a part of the equation for good coffee, and they need to be freshly used within a week for best flavor. I don't really consider myself a coffee connoisseur. I'll drink a Starbucks, but I'll also enjoy the likes of La Colombe or Intelligentsia. I'm happy to report that Around Cafe provides good coffee. What really makes them stand out is the variety of drinks they offer. They have affogato, coffee floats, and even bubble tea. This place has its interior design down. Clean wood surfaces, minimalist dishes, and simple decorations. However it is cramped in here. Seating is pretty limited with only two tables available. The rest of the spots are small bars and a couch. I found the seating to be pretty awkward at the window bar. The bar was too high for the stool they used. So then I moved to a table once one was available, but the table top was too low. I wouldn't recommend coming here to work on your laptop for that reason. Also for my visit it was pretty hot inside. It was an abnormal upper 70s day in mid October, and coming in, it was pretty clear that the a/c wasn't running at all. Not sure if the heat inside is a regular occurrence since it was an odd day of weather but I'll note it either way. Great coffee, I just wish the interior seating was a little more planned out. read more

Why hello precious! Around Cafe is a total bright spot, literally and figuratively. This adorable coffee shop used to be a different coffee shop that was...um...kind of terrible. So, naturally I had a bit of trepidation when I scheduled some time to meet my intern here for a latte and some co-working. Good thing my fears were unfounded. Around Cafe is full of light, stable WiFi, and doles out creative lattes that are artfully crafted. My fave is the lavender latte, and it's delicious hot or cold! There's a small selection of treats, bars and snacks in addition to a small array of gift-y like things. My only gripes are small: seating is not super comfortable for more than an hour or so, and the gratis water jug is teeny! Overall though, if you're looking for a lovely place to catch up with a friend or a colleague *and* sip on something delightful, Around Cafe is just the spot. read more
