Finally found a place that has good egg coffee! I just wished that they were a little closer to home. Walked in and this was a spot you can enjoy your coffee/matcha/tea with your friends and just hang out. It had a nice space that was kinda spread out. The employees were nice and friendly! Side note: if you are lactose intolerant....theres a little machine with lactaid! So you can still enjoy your drink!! There were a few drinks that sounded good, but I couldn't walk out with multiple all to myself. Self control and need to pace myself. I definitely ordered the egg coffee and was asked how strong I liked my coffee. Amazing that they have this option....because there are days that I feel like I need really strong coffee! I went with medium because it was already mid afternoon. I can't have my energy continue late and possibly not be able to sleep. Even though most of the time I can still fall asleep, but you never know. New coffee spot, gotta meet in the middle! Needless to say, I loved it! It was the perfect definition of strong! I'll definitely have to come back again...whenever I'm around the area to try the other drinks on the menu!

I've been to Altea a few times to try a number of different drinks. The one shown in the picture was from my latest visit and is the salted coffee - traditional Vietnamese coffee with a salted cream top. I generally prefer my coffee strong and opted for the strongest option. It is perfect for days where I need that extra jolt to stay awake. I've also tried the hojicha latte and their Ube matcha latte, both of which are also very good. I would recommend if either of those two flavors are up your alley. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Cafe itself also has ample seating and is a nice environment to sit with your laptop to get a few things done on a rainy day.

Been coming here since they opened so this review is a bit overdue, but this place is solid! The drinks always hit the spot and I really enjoy that they rotate and experiment with their menu so there's usually something fun and new to try. I'm not a regular coffee drinker, but when I know that I'll be needing a caffeine boost then their egg coffee is my go-to because they make sure it's nice and strong. The folks who work here have always been super nice and helpful if/when we have any questions about their menu. The space is also the perfect chill hang out spot or working area. Already looking forward to our next visit! Congratulations on one year!

First time here and wow!!! I must say their service was quick. I got the ube matcha latte and it was amazing. The tiramisu latte was also amazing! I would definitely reccomend trying them both iced especially if you are not a hot drink type of person as I am. Definitely worth the 45 min drive.

We stopped in because my girlfriend wanted to get one of their tiramisu cups. The flavor was good, not sure how much it was. There was plenty of seating. I didn't interact with the staff so I can't tell if they were rude like what other reviewers said.

I've never had a pandan matcha until I tried it here ...and I'M HOOKED! The pandan adds a sweet and earthy hint to an iced matcha latte that I didn't know I needed. The service is always quick and there's lots of tables to get work done or catch up with a friend.

This was such great place for drinks. We got the egg coffee and ube latte. Both are good and decent prices. I definitely would get these drinks again in the future. The drinks were made pretty fast. There were enough table and chairs to sit inside.

I LOVE coffee. Even more than that, I love STRONG coffee. This was my second time here. The first time I was here I wanted to try something different and got the hojicha which was too strong of a green tea for me. This time I got coffee. I still wanted to try something a little different, so I got the egg coffee. It was so tasty! It has the strength of Vietnamese iced coffee combined with the creamy foam. I had a sip of golden girl which was a mango coconut matcha latte. You could taste all the flavors. That might have been slightly better than mine. Overall, I love the variety on the menu and the strong coffee. The inside is well kept and clean. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I can't wait to see the specials coming up for the next month!

This is a spacious and modern cafe serving Vietnamese coffee and other drinks. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful with explaining the drinks and how they are made. Since I'm lactose-intolerant, I can't drink milk, so I was glad to find out the Vietnamese egg coffee is made with whole milk (and can't be substituted). Instead I ordered the Panda Latte (which has in-house Pandan milk which is made with half n half) and I was able to substitute oat milk. It was gorgeous (that unreal glowing green and black) and the coffee was rich and deeply flavored. This was delicious and refreshing (although a little sweet). I purchased an ube pudding to go. So pretty, I'm sure it's delicious! I will definitely come back to try some of the other drinks and offerings!

We had great coffee here, especially the egg coffee. I never had anything like it before and it was delicious. Not to mention, the atmosphere is great if you want to buckle down and get some work done. So, we came back for a second time. This time we got another egg coffee and I got an ube latte. The egg coffee was fantastic just as last time and I loved the taste of the ube latte. However, my stomach started hurting badly after the ube latte. The person I came with finished my ube latte after finishing their egg coffee, and their stomach was also hurting after drinking the ube latte. We're not sure what was off, probably the ube, but it definitely did not sit right with either of us. So, I might not be coming back as often as I thought I would since this deterred me quite a bit.

I'll start by saying never in my life would I have thought I'd drink coffee with egg in it. Well, don't hesitate cause it was, in fact delicious. It is a Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk with a creamy egg foam on top. 5 out of 5 will get again. The coffee was nice and robust with the subtle condensed milk adding the contrasting sweetness. The egg on top somehow marries it all together. Give it a shot. Service was very fast for the time of day we went and they were quite nice in the shop.

Tried the crab rangoon bread for the first time. I usually just get the Vietnamese coffee, and I loved the savory twist. The bread was seriously heavenly; high quality good. Great recommendation and kind, genuine service.

I've heard amazing things about Altea so I stopped in when in the area. I happened to visit shortly after they opened. The inside has plenty of seats to host quite a crowd. Their menu offers a variety of standard items, holiday specials, and test kitchen options. I ended up ordering the Tiramisu Coffee as the staff member said it was a popular drink and was slightly higher in caffeine level. I got it hot so it came as a 12oz drink. I loved the flavor and it definitely gave a subtle escalation in my energy level. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back!

(I wish they had a loyalty program or punch card of sorts for her because of her affinity to the store!) Last night, she had a taste for bubble tea so we took her after dinner and we had some pleasant surprises in our drink choices! My boyfriend got the Cookies and Cream milkshake with oat milk ('cause dairy) and it was thick, delicious, and had a strong ratio of milk to cookie in it. Last time my parents took my daughter, I tried a Coconut Purple Berry tea and added tapioca. It is tea, coconut milk, and like, chunks of guava--delicious. I can tell you my daughter's go to is a Taro Milkshake which is milk and taro blended--very delicious! The presentation is appealing--it looks like white clouds in a purple sky. Other drinks I have tried include their galaxy lemon tea, a sort of ocean lemonade (?), etc. My daughter also lives for their croffles--I know she has had matcha, tiramisu, plain, etc. Last night's choice was matcha and there was not a crumb left in the box. Ordering is easy on the kiosk, and the staff is quiet, but friendly. I have been there with different sized groups at different times of day, and the food, drinks, and service are always consistent. Sometimes it's packed, sometimes it's not. Driving back home, I wanted to yell at all the youths in that green siren logoed coffee shop to drink something better across the parking lot, but I did not. I hope Straw & Bubbles continues to find Mount Prospect to be a good home!
