I would say probably 3.5 stars would be most accurate. To make it easy for you to make a choice I'll just give pros and cons. Pros: staff is super friendly and offer quick text service Location for our event was great we walked everywhere and felt safe, they have lots of security The vibes and remodel is nice, and they have an onsite restaurant Price point was very fair (we didn't use parking) Cons: The hotel was nowhere near capacity and they gave us a room looking at the parking lot, they should fill those looking at the pool first The towels are small and thin and they come with a total of 2 sets, we asked for more and they gave 1 set (be clear with requests) Housekeeping is only offered when asked but they do not tell you that until you ask for it (luckily they fit us in and I didn't have to push) The bathroom door is so hard to open and there's only one trash can in each room As someone else said it's super LOUD on weekends it's literally like cars are drag racing All of that being said I would stay here again and just make sure to request the room location, extra towels and utilize the ear plugs that are in the bathroom. I feel this will be a very balanced review. Okay, so if you're young and turnt, this is the place to be. Sadly, I am old and washed lol. The other reviews are very accurate -- motorcycles can be heard throughout the late night, lots of hooting and hollering at the pool (lol), music until 9/10pm. You can hear everything happening on the street. If you go to bed at 8pm sharp, pick another place to stay. Overall it's a cool place, well maintained and decorated. Nice vibe. Definitely a revamped motel. The staff is the highlight of this establishment. Nice. Serious about safety. You can text them for whatever you need. Speaking of safety, they have 24 hour security. However, they should work on their doors. My deadbolt didn't work which was strange. I saw some door issues in another review as well. The bed was absolutely fantastic. Buttery. The shower was a bit weird. Had hard water stains as well. I did appreciate the makeup towel. I hate ruining white towels. Ok so getting into the 4 stars of it all. It did have me looking up what makes 4 stars. No shade. I would say it's somewhere closer to a 3 or 2 with the accommodations they provide. There wasn't even complimentary water. ARRIVE We loved this place! A 1960's motor lodge renovated beautifully. Comfy bed, fluffy towels, funky decor! Big tv. Great mini-bar! Really like the walk in shower. Nice amenities-robes, good hair dryer, steamer for my wrinkled clothes, ear plugs, Qtips, cotton pads and wonderful shampoo and lotion. Beautiful pool with big towels and nice lounge chairs. Great valet parking in a fenced area. There are homeless in the park across the street, but they were very benign. read more

New hotel alert! ARRIVE Albuquerque is a historic rehabilitation of the 1965 Downtowner Motor Inn (most recently The Hotel Blue) - a Route 66 landmark, btw. It features 137 guest rooms, a cocktail bar/restaurant aka DWNTWNR, and and a pool. I locked in a great rate - like $130/night - for a work trip, and I fully enjoyed my stay. Except for one thing. The rooms are motel-style, meaning they open directly to the outside; and as a solo traveler, I didn't like that my room faced the city park (which is kinda inhabited by unhoused compounds). I would have preferred to face the pool. But, they do lock the front doors at 9pm and you need your key to enter. They also have a doorman/valet guys out front at all hours it seemed. The room decor is so cute... I was pleasantly surprised. And the bath products were great, and I loved the extra touches (steamer, ear plugs, black makeup washcloth, face pad). Nice bedding, great rr lighting. Def check out DWNTWNR for drinks on the patio or try some of their red chili sprinkled fries. Front desk was great! I also overheard a staffer saying that they're going to start selling day pool passes to non-hotel guests, so locals take note! read more

We made reservations for a sister's night to celebrate my sister's 27th birthday. I was working this afternoon and planned to meet my sister and mom for dinner this evening. When my sister tried to check in to our room she was told she couldn't check in because her name wasn't on the reservation. No problem, I can just call and ask that my sister be checked in. Where things went wrong: the manager on duty named Brie told my sister that "she clearly wasn't understanding check in rules because she'd been up to ask several times already and had been told no". Very condescending and not the way that you treat a guest that's chosen to spend their birthday with you, when your hotel is a dime a dozen. My sister felt ridiculed and mistreated, and I refuse to spend money at a place that's made my sibling feel like that. We cancelled our reservation for a full refund, booked down the street, and are enjoying pool time, cocktails, and a beautiful room. Moral of the story-- don't just hire anyone to manage your hotel. Not everyone is capable of even basic communication and kindness. read more

I have not had a chance to stay at the hotel yet, however, I have been to The Downtowner several times. It's a fun cute little place to get drinks. Usually a precursor to our next venue, the patio is intimate as well as the inside. Looking forward to trying their slushy drinks, just find them to be over priced. WTH?! Our stay was terrible. 1. No coffee in the room or lobby. Only in their overpriced restaurant. 2. Valet parking- by a 3rd party that charges $25! Plus a service fee and sales tax. In Alb, that is ridiculous. But street parking is sketchy in this part of town, so you do it. 3. Surrounded by drug-addicted unhoused who harass you at the valet. 4. Room was kitschy and a fun throwback vibe- but the lock was not engaged when we arrived and we had to push the door very hard to finally get it to latch. 5. Music blasted at around 11pm- not sure if it was the poolside bar or one of the night spots, but damn it was loud. 6. Forget in-room snacks & mini bar. We expect these things to be pricey, but $13 for a "fancy" bottle of water. Trying to create a new hotspot for trendy people, but it fails at even the most basic hospitalities. read more

Extremely Disappointed - Poor Management, Unsafe Conditions, and Unprofessional Treatment We are extremely disappointed with our stay and how we were treated, not only by the staff but also by management. They accused us of damaging a door in their old, poorly maintained building. When they moved us to another room, we found the same unsafe issues with that door as well -- all of which we have documented with photos. They then attempted to add completely invalid extra charges to our bill. They made false accusations against us and even had housekeeping take unauthorized photos of our room. We smoked outside the building -- there were no non-smoking signs posted anywhere identifying the property as "non-smoking," other than a small notice in the elevator (which is standard and not sufficient). The manager herself, along with security, inspected our room and confirmed there was no smell or evidence of smoking inside. We requested housekeeping three times before they finally came after the fourth request. Upon check-in, we were also provided rooms with used hygiene products, which is completely unacceptable. While a few staff members were professional, the overall experience with both staff and management was unacceptable. All reviews will be completed, and I will be contacting corporate regarding this experience. read more

This was a clean conveniently located hotel. The hotel is walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our first night coincided w an art walk. That was fun. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We came in for the balloon festival. Not knowing what to expect we went w a tour bus to get us to/from the festival. Next time, an Iber would be better and cheaper. The hotel had coffee and cake ready for take out. Not the best coffee or cake. There was plenty of coffee at the festival for about the same price. The hotel played music everywhere! You couldn't escape it. There were earplugs in the room, so the hotel is aware noise is an issue. This wouldn't be my first choice. It wouldn't be my last choice. Not good. This 6 story motel may look nice in photos - but it's merely a motel - and one in a struggling part of town. The part directly across the street is home to many unhoused, needle using disturbed people. Parking at this hotel is valet only and the charge before tipping is $25 per night. For Abq - this is way too much. Street parking is ample and this motels valet only lot is empty. Upon entering your room - which again is a motel style - doors to the outside of the building - you notice the nice styling and snacks and bottled water. The bottled water is $14 per bottle. $14 per bottle - at a motel. Online this place claims to be a 4 star hotel. I would argue that its an unsafe - over priced - 2.5 star motel with a cool lobby and bar - a pool courtyard that looks nice - and attempts to over charge you at every chance. I think the mgmt and owners of arrive have some hard lessons to learn. I with them the best cleaning up the neighborhood and learning what the market will bear - but I will be staying elsewhere. My wife and I recently got married in Albuquerque, and as part of that event, we secured some rooms for several of our guests. Initially we were excited because ARRIVE looks wonderful in the pics, and it was a short walk from our wedding venue. Reserving went smoothly overall. My wife had made the reservations under the names of our guests, but had paid with her card. When it came time for our guests to begin checking into their rooms, that's when things fell apart. Several of our guests had to pay for their reservation, which should not have occurred in the first place since we already paid. My wife's grandmother, who's room was booked by us and paid for (and who was also the most important guest to our wedding), was told that her room was not available. That there was no room. So her, her daughter, and granddaughter had to book another room and was given a single bed room for 3 people. NOT okay. As a result, they were late to our wedding by 45 min. All this stressed my wife beyond limits on our wedding day, and soured our wedding experience. The day after our wedding, we visited ARRIVE to not only check in for our night that we had reserved, but to also try to figure out wtf happened between staff and our guests. Why were there SO many mistakes?! My wife was extremely frustrated and rightfully so. Given the extent of the mistakes made by the ARRIVE, the desk staff were NOT eager to remedy their mistakes nor the mistakes of their colleagues. There was initially hardly any attempt to find the source of the error, to take accountability for the mistakes, and to apologize and remedy the situation. My wife and I had to put a real big stink to see a manager (who wasn't on site at that moment and we had to wait 15 min.). We understand it's hard to take blame for someone else's mistakes, but as a customer service employee, there is an expectation to find the source of the issue and find a way to remedy the situation. We didn't feel that type of care. It wasn't until the manage came in and spoke to us that we began feeling taken care of. I'm giving 2 stars for Service (would have been 1) because the manager and sales manager took charge and made a strong effort to make things right. I'm giving 3 stars for location, though 2 may be realistic too. It's a great location being in downtown Albuquerque. You can literally walk from the hotel. Right across the street is Curious Toast, a delicious and awesome brunch place that we love and got our family and friends hooked on. The park across the street hosts a bazaar (not sure its frequency). However, the night my wife and I stayed I heard gunshots. The next day we learned that there was a shooting on 8th street (the street the hotel is on). My friend also told us there was another shooting next to neighboring business a night or 2 before. So it's unfortunate the hotel is in an area that may be prone to isolated shootings. I gave the room 4 stars. We had a single king room on the 6th floor. It was cozy, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom clean and modern. The design was also done very nicely. I actually loved the room. But 4 stars because I didn't like the bathroom door. It doesn't provide complete privacy. Also, the heater/AC unit blows directly into one side of the bed, so if you're on that side, you will be blasted. The room isn't also the quietest. I heard someone running down the hall at night, so sound travels somewhat easily. The hotel definitely is remodeled and feels modern and chic. I think this would have been a lovely stay if it weren't for our experience with customer service majorly dropping the ball on our reservations, and for the gunshots in the neighborhood. read more

This refurbished hotel at the edge of Central in downtown Albuquerque was a surprising find and a relaxing stay overall. I arrived on a Friday night and downtown was bustling with a classic car/lowrider show, which made for some noise and lively atmosphere. The hotel's design is lovely, retro, and playful all at once. While I was visiting for a few nights, the bar/restaurant was sometimes understaffed but everyone was attentive and helpful. This isn't a standard hotel in that the amenities and service seem more befitting for most boutique hotels I've experienced rather than a huge chain hotel. Don't look for microwaves in the room or 24 hour room service. That is for a big chain hotel. The other thing to acknowledge is the practicalities of where this hotel is. Central/downtown Albuquerque isn't always the safest-seeming place. The hotel is directly next to a park where unhoused people sometimes sleep. Having lived in Albuquerque many years ago, common sense considerations should be made for safety. For example, I was happy to pay the extra for valet service, knowing that my car would be safe. And that process was super easy (plus that staff was very nice). Overall, a great stay. And I am more than happy to stay here again in the future. DO NOT book here if you plan on staying for more than one day !!!!!! my partner and i stayed here for 4 days and i wish i would of booked somewhere different. We came from a 2 day drive from Texas (so we are not familiar with the area). The first thing that was the first warning was looking for parking,,, when we asked, we got told that we could either pay for valet parking that was $25 a day or use public parking that had pay meters. The public parking had indications of cars being broken into with broken glass all over which obviously pressured us into paying valet for 4 nights which cost us an extra 100 dollars that we weren't aware of. However, the valet parking was ironically the best experience of the stay because they were very friendly and helpful!!! :-) Another thing was also the housekeeping. As someone who would frequently book hotel chains like Days Inn, this hotel would make you request housekeeping a day before which i found inconvenient and strange but it was nothing to tell home about. Until......we requested room service a day before like they had said.... and they did not show up...... :-( We went to the lobby to tell the front desk and he was nice about it and helped us out :-) The next day we were out all day and when we came back our restroom looked different... that's when we realized they had done "housekeeping" while we were gone (mind you we did not re-request housekeeping). It was strange because it was so minuscule that it gave off the impression that they didn't want it to seem like anyone was there. It was only replacing the towels and taking out the trash with the rest of the room untouched (from my past experience of hotels they usually make the bed, replace amenities, and take out the trash,,,, basically making it known they did room service). Lastly, although it is out of their control, the location was not great either. I read other reviews and people talked about how great the location was but, I feel different. The location itself was surrounded by restaurants and bars and right next to route 66 but, the reviews failed to mention there was a lot of homeless people around,, especially in the park that was next to the public parking. This made us feel unsafe and kind of detour us from exploring the area. Overall I can see how it would be a nice place to stay for one day but, if you plan on staying more than that I would highly encourage you to find somewhere else. read more

Housekeeping services have to be requested the night before but the front desk doesn't tell you that when you check in. 4. The on staff security guard patrolled the grounds talking on her phone while smoking weed. 5. The front desk couldn't or would not give me hotel folio because I booked it through my corporate travel agent. I can and do get a folio everywhere else I stay for business. 6. They blast music from 3-6 for happy hour despite the fact that no one is outside by the pool. I was seriously injured here due to unmarked, uneven concrete near reception. Staff saw it happen and offered no help. Valet staff literally stood and watched while I struggled to get up. I then had to request ice myself through their text system because there are no in-room phones. Because I couldn't walk, dinner had to be delivered that night and was still charged, despite no proper area to eat. When I asked for help finding medical care, I was told to "try urgent care" with no assistance provided. I had to organise everything myself and pay nearly USD $300 out of pocket. I was effectively stuck in the room, still charged for breakfast, and checkout was enforced with no flexibility. Minibar pricing was extreme (USD $13 for water) and unbelievably there was no in-room coffee or complimentary lobby coffee. With the restaurant closed one night, that meant two full days with no access to coffee. This stay ruined our Route 66 stop. My travelling companion has a vision disability and relies on my support, so the impact was even worse. I have travelled to the USA three times in the last ten years and this is the worst hotel experience I've had. I would strongly caution anyone, especially those with accessibility needs, to avoid this hotel. read more

My daughter and I recently did a staycation here in Albuquerque at the newly renovated hotel, Arrive. We needed a break from the hot summer and instead of actually going somewhere we just went and stayed for a couple of days at a local place that had a pool and we could just relax. Everything about the place was awesome. This was not your average "lipstick on a pig" hotel, semi renovation... I have stayed at the old hotel blue back in the day and oh my goodness it could not have been more different than this place is now. I mean, taking just the rooms that were already there obviously and the structure and completely transforming the place from a subpar, somewhat creepy feeling basic sort of hotel that was trying to be something it wasn't which was hotel blue somehow spring this beautiful boutique hotel with an amazing staff. Everyone was super friendly, had a theme, but not over the top and every single detail of the renovation felt like they went the extra mile. Obviously the horrible carpet was gone, and the floors were really nicely done with the checkerboard tile done in very soothing, modern, clean colors. The walls and the ceilings were painted with the same vibe. Just very relaxing. The beds were super comfortable, and the decor was minimal, but had a really nice effect. The walls and ceilings were painted in coordination with the floors and everything just felt really soothing and like they were taking Sleep into mind when they painted the place. They didn't cut corners on the decor either- instead of having regulation hotel accessories, like dressers and chairs, etc. they had really nice old-fashioned looking but new, comfortable pieces. The mini fridges are adorable. They are retro which just kind of seems cool, shower was so nice that I took far too long of a shower twice . The provided products were wonderful and the hotel provides white hotel robes, which is always nice. Then there's the pool area! I believe it was saltwater pool. I never asked anyone it felt amazing on my skin and usually I'm allergic to chlorine in my eyes and I didn't feel that the whole time . There is a ledge that goes all the way around the inside of the pool that you can sit on - my daughter and I love to play cards so we actually got to play cards in the pool. The pool area feels retro as well. It has really beautiful fringe umbrellas, and lots of lounge chairs the only thing I would say is that there aren't any tables to sit and eat at out by the pool. They do, however, have a bar and restaurant that extends to the outside outside which is right near the pool. There's also a fire pit that the heat up at night with lounge chair sitting around for people to hang out at in the evenings. love the jukebox that they have in the restaurant which extended out to the pool. It's like an old-fashioned jukebox. No money is required and you can play as many songs as you want so it's all customer oriented music, which is really nice. It was really loud the first day we were there and we talked to the bartender and she had it turned down the second day. They were really cordial and amazing at listening to everything we had to say. The staff was above and beyond everybody that we dealt with aside from the vallet parkers, I won't get into that, but they apparently are hired by the hotel and when I had an issue, the hotel was really great and dealing with them with me. Just be aware you're not allowed to park your car in valet parking, which is the only off street parking if you have a dent on your bumper or anything thing wrong physically at all. like I said, the staff was really accommodating as far as that went bending over backwards to make me feel better about the whole experience. The bar was amazing. The drinks were awesome. We didn't try the food, but we will definitely be back! Couldn't have had a better staycation I didn't wanna leave! read more

Really loved this hip hotel! We got a great deal on our room and it was well worth the money! At first I was worried my kid would be the only kiddo and it was more of an adult party hotel. However I was wrong and there were several kids swimming with their parents. The only thing I would change is theres no free coffee in the morning. For $123 on Expedia we were pleased to be in adorably furnished rooms with cute amenities including a safe and robes - mini bar and array of too expensive drinks and candy - very cute retro decor. Heard lovely pool. Looks new and clean. Sadly, for this new hotel it is located downtown in the midst of extremely loud motorcycle and cars racing that ended around 10:15 pm. We had no idea downtown Albuquerque is sooo noisy. We did like the outside cat walk where on one side you can view the gorgeous sunsets. Overall pleased! read more

I would have been better off at a multitude of "3 star" hotels. How this place is rated "4 stars" is beyond me. No convenience items in the room: coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator. Just a minibar stocked with overpriced junk food and $13 water. Only one sheet on the bed, so had to choose between sleeping on the mattress directly or having the comforter directly touching me. When I checked in they said the bar was open until 10 PM, but when I came down at 7 I found it had closed at 6. What kind of bar closes at 6? Never made it in. I called to check prices on swimming for the day. It's $30 each, which is pretty high, but I was willing to do it. So we went right over. There is not a parking lot. Valet service is $25, so I tried to ask about parking in the neighborhood and if it's safe. The valet guy was really rude? He basically treated me like if I couldn't afford the valet I shouldn't be there. So we left. Arrive is definitely off my list of places to stay when I need a room downtown. I will never understand why some hotels treat locals like scum. It's our family that rents rooms every time they visit, and us every time we want to go out downtown. read more

We loved this hotel. We stayed in Dec for three nights. It's very nicely presented, and you'll have a bit of a wow factor when you enter your room. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Our room was nicely presented with a comfortable bed and pillows. There were two bathrobes, and very nice shampoos/conditioners. The location appears to be in an up-and-coming area of downtown. There's a very popular breakfast place across the street (Curious Toast), and some great coffee shops (Java Joes, and Castle Coffee) just a few blocks walk. Can recommend both coffee shops. We ate in the hotel restaurant (DWNTR) for Happy Hour a few nights, and again, can recommend. Staff were all friendly and helpful. There's an outside patio if you bring a dog, and the hotel lobby and restaurant had nice presentation and decor. We used the saline pool, which is heated, and the pool area is probably a lot of fun (if not a bit loud) in the summer. It's open year round, and we used it in Dec on some warmish (60 deg) days. There's a fire-pit outside the pool area which is a nice way to unwind. We had no car (took the bus), but there is a valet charge. You can easily get all the city buses from Arrive. The 66 is just a block away, and the ART rapid Transit 777 and 766 are also a few blocks away. We also took the 50 to and from the Airport. Did I mention bus travel is free? You may meet some interesting characters, but the bus drivers are very helpful. The hotel is at the far end of Central where there are some trendy restaurants and tap rooms. It's next to a park that hosts a farmers market in summer. We felt safe and enjoyed our stay and location. We could bus to Nob Hill, ECOpark, and bus or walk to the transit center if you want to catch the Rail Runner train to Santa Fe. Now here are some items that could be more frustrating for another traveler. There is no coffee pot/tea maker in the room, which we typically use. However, the bar staff were very helpful to provide a cup of hot want for tea. There is no microwave (also not a dealbreaker). There is a fridge, but it is full of mini-bar items. We had space for a few small drinks items, but it's not actually there for you to put your leftovers in. It can be noisy due to the location, and your room is accessed from the outside (motel style). However, earplugs are available in the bathroom with some other toiletry items. There is no luggage rack. And there was very little space (two small drawers) for use if you wanted to put away your clothes. Again, we would happily stay here again, but I wanted to make clear that these things which may seem standard in other hotels are not here. But the price was excellent for the room, and if not having a coffee maker keeps the price down, we can certainly grab a coffee from the restaurant or nearby coffee shop. Having looked at the area of some of the other downtown ABQ hotels, I think Arrive is in a good location depending on your purpose for visit. We would stay again, and would consider the chain in other cities. read more

I'm writing this while on a thus-far twelve-minute hold to resolve Arrive Albuquere's billing me for a fourth night I did not reserve and did not use. Nice visual aesthetics; the foyer/entrance was filled with what presumably is a nice smell for some of us but overwhelmed me to the point of gagging. There's literally no phone in the room so only option for contacting front desk/housekeeping is text. Not terrible, but not accessible for everyone. We registered with three guests, and yet there were zero linens for a third person. No top sheet on the main bed. They failed to bring a third set of towels after the first text, so had to text again. Valets can take cash, but if you use the app for tipping, you're charged for the "convenience" of using their app. LOL not a convenience for the customer. Their "kitchenette" = nicely stocked minibar but zero plates/silverware/cooking options (unless you consider cooking to be microwaving LOL, and then ... how exactly would you eat it? with your hands?). Only sink was in bathroom so making anything entailed going back and forth to the bathroom. Second night there was a fire alarm, everyone got up and out and halfway down the stairs there was an announcement "It's a false alarm, go back to your rooms." Building codes say fire department should come to check it out. That didn't happen. I will never stay here, or at any "Arrive" brand hotel, again. Also, not their fault, but heads-up: low-rider cars circle downtown until midnight revving their engines, making sleep nigh unto impossible. read more
