I knew after dinner we may wanna grab 1 more drink so I had checked to see if there were any new spots sine the last time we were in town. I hadn't heard of this Teddy Roe's so we grabbed a reservation for the late evening. After getting dropped off by a car we tried to find the entrance. I'm not going to give away the trick to it but it was fun. Once inside we got our spot that we held. I didn't see a drink on their menu that I liked that was rum based, so I asked the kind bartender if they could make me one. I only asked that it be alcohol forward, but that I was good if it was a more fruity drink too. They brought me a concoction that was perfect. It's a real nice place. The ornate ceiling and the beautiful bar added to the regal vibes of the place. I would definite recommend Teddy's; it's one of the best speakeasies in town. read more

I didn't know what to expect from this place since I looked at the bad reviews first so I can set my expectations right. When I came this day, they had live jazz music. I don't care for jazz. But it was great music and the place was packed. Everyone was enjoying it all and the vibe was a good one to be around. Arcy was behind the bar and suggested a few drinks. They were both good. Deviled eggs were good and the pickled purple onions were a good touch - though I still haven't come across deviled eggs that are better than my own The special of the day was pork chops. I'm not a pork person but I chanced it anyhow. I'll have to say, it was probably the best pork chop I've ever had. They sousvided it and it came with apple butterand it all worked beautifully. Oh Teddy Roe's, you'll always have a special place in my heart. It is always fun to call the number and be let into a unimposing room before getting seated. I love how intimate all of the seating is. This is the perfect place for date night! The drinks are always solid and I love how creative they are. The food is always different everything I go and I've never had anything bad. Every time I go I make sure to get the shoestring fries- they are well seasoned and crispy! The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. I just really can't say enough good things. Very cool speakeasy type establishment. Mainly a place for drinks and specialty cocktails. They have a very limited food menu. I had the ribs and they were awesome, they do not have diet sodas. We tried out Teddy Roe's last. First, the good/great. I had the best Paloma I've ever had. Fizzy, tangy, not too sweet, and potent. It's got a pretty price tag attached to it ($17) but it was worth it. And, our food was delicious. My husband had fish and chips, and the fish had a crispy batter and was cooked to perfection. The duck fat fries were DELICIOUS (he had to swat me away by giving me his slaw, which was also delicious) with a tangy aioli to dip them into. I had the shrimp Mac and cheese and the pasta was fresh-made, the sauce was deep and complex, and the shrimp were plentiful. Also, the interior is gorgeous. Dark (you can see the murkiness in my pictures) and rich, and well appointed. However, I'm taking a BIG star off for the counter accommodations we signed up for. There was no description in the Open Table reservation process, and I had an option between counter or bar. I don't do well on high chairs (I'm five two) so took a chance on counter. Well, counter is literally a twelve-inch shelf of marble hung off a large center pillar. So we ate facing a wall. Not even remotely an appropriate dining experience where you're expected to drop $150. Bad choice on my part, but disappointed that Teddy Roe's/M'Tucci's hung a 12 ledge and said "that will work for dinner and drinks." I highly recommend doing something about that for future diners. There were two large 6-person booths that were completely empty during our stay, and I still don't understand why they don't make those available (we lasted about an hour face to face with the wall before we said uncle). The service and the unique bakery fake-entry was also obviously refined, so the counter accommodations stuck out even more. If they'd fix that issue, this would be five stars all day long. read more

If I could rate this place 10 stars I would! We went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty dead but I can tell it's busy on weekends. It's beautifully decorated! They have a great cocktail menu. We tried 5 different cocktails and they were AMAZING. So well balanced and delicious. We got the fried olives and the fries. Both were fantastic. The fries are like McDonald's fries but super elevated! Seriously addicting. We ordered the spicy shrimp Mac and cheese and the steak and potatoes. Both were really tasty! The potatoes were so soft and the onions and cheese added a perfect contrast. The staff were seriously wonderful, we will definitely come back next time we're in town for the staff solely. Ambience is very cool, classic speakeasy vibes. Our server was both efficient and yet still a bit condescending. I have lots of feelings about this concept. For example, our party of four was seated pretty quickly as we did have reservations. We got what should have been a positive rundown on the special chef guest. Except it came off sort of rude. Especially when it came to our sober friend. She asked for a list of menu items they could still do while also providing the guest menu. (We were told "the basics".) our friend was just told "no" so she asked for a sparking water. No alcohol. During the second round of drink ordering, we ordered food. Took a little bit to get both. Not super long, but noticeably long. I was maybe 2-3 bites into my food when we were told we had 15-20 minutes left of our reservation. So there is a pretty strict 2 hour reservation apparently. Just keep that in mind if you go there. We ended up taking out food to go because we literally did not have time to finish it. So drinks, the food we did have) and ambience were great. My friend brought me here while I was in town visiting. The entrance is very cool, but the actual space is even cooler. It's small, but has so much character and ample seating. Wow! Alley ways & hidden entrances, what fun! Our bartender & his partner were super friendly & knowledgeable about all things alcohol. We had not made reservations, so were seated at the bar & had front row seats to all of the amazing concoctions they made. My first visit to the establishment. A little hard to find on first time there; they call themselves a speakeasy and this secretive location adds to the charm. I went alone; many will feel more comfortable going as a couple or even a group. They require a reservation; I had left a phone message but the person responsible for that had called in sick, so had a little bit of talking to get in. Two parts of my visit: explore the restaurant and to listen to live jazz. I add a star for live music. The entry door is very clever; looks like a bookshelf but swings out to allow entrance. Staff friendly and polite. Ambience aplenty; they went all in for vintage decor including tinned ceiling. I had the special: sea bass with chili and mushroom sauce on bed of rice. I went with a hearty Malbec. Prices are reasonable. My guess is that maximum seating capacity is around 40. It's a cozy feel. Personally, i enjoy a bit of schtick like speakeasy establishments. First time here. Very trendy. Located in the back of a building in an alley. I first thought this was a joke but it turned out to be rather pleasant and interesting of fun. We reserved the Champagne Room for two hours. We were greeted by a host immediately who led us into a private room behind a hidden wall. Very mysterious and fun! We were served Champagne in a flute glass. The room seats about four to six people comfortably. Very private which is nice! Great ambiance and decor. We used their mock vinyl turntable to play our own music selections. Nice touch! We were there in mid December so it was a bit cold in the room. They could have installed a portable electric heater to make it more comfortable but that may not be permitted due to fire laws. Ourdrink order was taken right away and served to us in a flash. Great service! I ordered a bourbon drink that was a house special similar to an old-fashion that was outstanding! It was so good that I ordered a second round. In terms of the service, they offer a feature where you press a switch and that notifies them you require service. We had someone at our table within seconds. Love it! Their drink menu is plentiful. Spirits, beer, wine, they have it. I love bourbon so I was in heaven with their selection. Their food menu is sparse. I couldn't even tell you where their kitchen is located as the entire place is very small. Still, we ordered a charcuterie board, chicken sandwiches with garlic fries, and another appetizer. Very tasty! The only reason I didn't rate this five stars is: Parking is difficult. Location is difficult to find. One public bathroom. Limited seating. Cocktails are excellently prepared and if you're lucky enough to chat with Noami you'll get a wealth of knowledge and an intuitive skill to help you select the perfect drink. I prefer Rye-based cocktails and there's no lack of choices. The bar's take on an Old Fashioned is wonderful and their clever and unusual display of a Sazerac is equally compelling. It fooled us with the bakery as we made a twice around walk to the door after receiving instructions from a waitstaff at Bar Roma. We entered a very small space with great decor and limited lighting to provide the ambiance. Seated at the bar, we reviewed an array of cocktails and settled on a bourbon and a fun champagne cocktail that had a swift kick.... The Bartender's were friendly and very knowledgeable! The food looked great but we had reservations next door. We enjoyed our cocktails, conversation and time taking in this special scene. I am a huge Mobster fan and I envision this would be a place you would see Al Capone. read more

It's my friends birthday and we checked reservations. It said there was plenty of available slots all night so we decided to see if we could just walk in. They said no, so I said that's perfectly fine there's a reservation in 15 minutes I'll just take that slot. She said "I LITERALLY SAID THERES NO AVAILABLE SEATS". Behind a non-descript bakery door behind M'Tucci's but very obscure if you don't know what you're looking for. Friend reserved the champagne room, able to accommodate 8 but more comfortable with 6. It is reservation only I believe. The champagne room is nice, private, but not sure if it's worth $130 for the room and the smallest bottle of champagne I've ever seen. They have a switch on the wall to alert staff to when you need assistance. Unfortunately, the record player needle was broken so that was disappointing, especially given the $130 experience. It is a Bluetooth speaker you can connect your phone to. The fries were delicious - with the garlic aioli. We got 3 of them haha, second was overcooked, but other 2 were good. Party went with Martini flight, I went with the Manhattan. My Manhattan was delicious, as was my friend's "genuine risk". Wife's martini flight was also good, strong, but good. Gin, Vodka, and a gin and vodka. The olives along with the briney deliciousness were good even for a non-martini drinker. I'd order everything we had again. My husband and I have been trying different tiki and speakeasy style cocktail bars for the craft cocktails and immersive atmosphere. This one is a gem. Making a reservation was easy using the Open Table app. After gaining access through a door marked Bakery, the entryway is tucked behind a bookcase that blends into the wall. On this very rainy evening, I appreciated the threshold between outer reality and speakeasy pretend. Teddy Roe's does it up floor to ceiling swanky. The cocktail menu is no joke. And the bartender mixed our drinks with love. If you're not able to enjoy complexity, like smokiness, botanicals, fruitiness, and bitters, or can't distinguish between spirit foreword, finish, or lingering flavors, skip the cocktails and maybe treat yourself to a beer. Or a different bar with more neon and some tv sets. We won the bonus with Tuesday night comedy. I'd go the full five stars if we could keep Teddy Roe's in regular date-night rotation, but the spendy final tab makes this a perfect place for an occasion instead of a place to come out of the rain on an ordinary weeknight. read more

This was honestly one of the worst speakeasy I have been to. We didn't really drink any of the drinks, we disliked them all, the location is even harder to find than most speakeasies are, it feels so squished in there you can move, breath, or socialize. Also they removed their phone number so you can't even call to ask how to get there, but I had it saved from back when they did have it published, I guess it was the owners number on there before, and the owner is too rude to answer a text even after I can clearly see she's read it. It was very busy now but these kinds of businesses who don't value customer experience come and go and I feel like this one may be on its way out in a year or two read more

What a find! This place truly is a hidden gem. And by hidden I mean the door is in back of the building by the parking lot and dumpsters and is not labeled with the business name but simply Bakery. I was pretty confused and when entering the very small room the lady inside just asked if she could help us letting that secrecy hang for as long as possible. We were finally ushered behind some curtains into a very cozy bar. The two bartenders were great. They were very knowledgeable about the drinks and passionate about their jobs.
