Overall not much to write home about. I wanted to wait a couple of years to see how my tattoo healed and so far it's ok. I got this tattoo in March of '22. I walked in and spoke to Plata about the design, he said he could do it the next day. I put down a $150 deposit. The next day, I came in and Plata got it done in less than 30 minutes. When we were finished he charged me another $175. I felt pretty much ripped off but what am I supposed to do? I paid the guy and moved on with my life. The tattoo is fine. Was it worth $325 for a 5 inch tall tattoo? Definitely not. YMMV. read more

Plata is an incredible tattoo artist. Every concept I've shared with him has turned out better than I could have imagined. I came to Plata with a vague concept of what I wanted - upper body, shoulders/chest, fox and floral design. When it came to the fox, I was a little afraid of any sort of realistic tattoo, but put a little faith into it and it turned out amazing! Wrote a letter wrong on my tattoo. I mentioned it when I had noticed after he had finished and he said "well you saw the stencil!!" Being someone that doesn't like confrontation, I just left. Not like he could change it. Years later I am annoyed he got a letter wrong that is permanent on my body. So here I am. Would NOT recommend. The least he could have done was admit his mistake and give a discount instead of gaslighting me into thinking it was my fault. read more

A couple weeks ago I went looking for a new tattoo shop to get a fine line name tattoo of my son I lost. I was very nervous that the needle or ink would be too thick for the style of tattoo I wanting. I walked in on a Sunday and they were busy.
