As for value, we thought it was going to be more expensive than an other studio we'd previously used, and we were happy and ready to pay the extra, but in the end it ended up being the same! I originally had my helix piercing here about 6 years ago with my daughter and her friends. Haha My conscientious parent friends: " How do you feel and what are your thoughts about your daughter getting her helix pierced?" (All of our daughters were about 17? then). Me sheepishly: "I think I'm going to join them." Anyway, this place is top quality. I came back recently because I replaced my earring with a new one that gave me an infection. I got my daith pierced here two years ago and recently went back for second and third lobe piercings. I called shortly after they opened and got an afternoon spot, but they ran late, so don't go during a time crunch. The waiting area was comfortable, though they stuck the speaker on that side of the room. The piercing room was...roomy, as in, more spacious, at least more spacious than the last one. The service was good, the people were nice, and the candy was free ;). That said, it wasn't cheap--two lobe piercings were $50 total (one lobe piercing is $40), earrings (the blue ones) $80 (prices start at $30 each, and mine were $40 a pop), plus tip. The tip is calculated on the total, including the jewelry, which felt odd since the earrings didn't exactly offer great service. After some research (Reddit), I found tipping on the total is common unless you're buying pricey gold jewelry, where tipping could get excessive. Still, if you can afford the jewelry, you can afford to tip on it. In short, expect to tip on everything. And yes, getting pierced hurt a bit, but it was fine. Today, there is no pain as long as I leave it alone. P.S., you can use bone conduction headphones with a daith, or other inner ear cartilage, piercing. read more

When we asked if it would be ok for her to come home first and then I drive straight there, they said no problem (son was taking a nap). I showed up, Diego was no where to be found and I was told my wife took too long and that they would have to reschedule. Not, sorry for driving all the way up here, but it's my wife's fault. Customer service is a premium service, especially these days, they failed. A call or a simple no to accommodating our request would have been fine, Diego simply being at lunch was not worth wasting my life minutes driving up there. We don't get those back. read more

You're going to be hard pressed to find a more welcoming shop, where drinks and snacks are complimentary with insanely talented artists having the freedom to do incredible work. It was my first tattoo and after this I highly doubt it'll be my last. My artist, Mae, was one of the sweetest people I've ever met, and she made my experience nearly painless (back tattoo) and pulled off the colors with stunning talent. This review is only for a piercing change. I made an appointment ahead of time. I had a previous nose piercing and needed a shorter post, since the original one that I was pierced with was too long and causing an irritation bump. I was looking to downsize the stud to a tiny diamond, which I assumed every piercing shop would have since it's a popular style. I was disappointed that they didn't have any really small diamonds and I had to pay $50 for a stud diamond that was essentially the same size and style as my previous one. The jewelry looks fine, but not what I was looking for. In hindsight, I probably should've just gone to another piercing shop, but I had already made this appointment. Went to Skin and Soul on a whim with a couple friends to get cartilage piercings. They were able to get us in with no appointment. One cartilage piercing cost $50 (stud or hoop included). Two cost $90 -so a bit of a discount if you get more than one. The piercer had been doing this for 17 years. He was quick, considerate, and professional. Very sanitary too. Used needles for the piercings. Was impressed with the cleanliness of the shop. Lots of cool art work and designs -not over the top and not too grungy or creepy. Very disappointed. I've been coming to Skin and Soul for years now to get piercings and I just recently booked a tattoo appointment. I paid the $120 deposit and I had full intent of arriving to my appointment on time. It was very unfortunate that I got food poisoning on the exact day that I was supposed to come in, but I called them as soon as my symptoms started to show (5-6 hours before the appointment was scheduled). The person on the phone gave me the option to reschedule once I was feeling better, and she even said they would honor the deposit I paid because this was entirely out of my control, which I greatly appreciated. I called again a few hours later to find a reschedule date, and then I was informed that they would actually need to take a second deposit, and that the first one I paid was nonrefundable because I wasn't able to give them a 48 hour notice. I had no way of knowing I would get food poisoning on the day of my appointment, and this policy made me think that I would've been better off insisting on coming in for a 2-3 hour tattoo session after hours of nonstop vomiting. I was so excited for this appointment and I'm gutted that I was given the wrong information that got my hopes up, and that it seems like there is nothing they're willing/able to do to help me. I completely understand that the tattoo artist still needs to get paid for their time drawing and prepping, which is why I would understand if this policy applied only to sudden cancellations that weren't given 48 hours in advance. But this is not my situation; I only had to reschedule for another day. It's not like the drawing and prep time my tattoo artist put in was for nothing. I really loved this place, I just wish their policy was fair. Nobody can ever predict what might happen to them ahead of time, and situations that are completely out of our control should be met with more understanding. I appreciated the sympathy and calm explanation from the second person I talked to, but it sadly doesn't change the fact that I lost 120 dollars over something I could not have predicted, controlled, or handled any better than I did. At this point I need to start the process of finding a tattoo parlor and artist all over again. read more

Got recommended to go here and I was not disappointed. Got a conch piercing. They had tons of jewelry and very nice staff. Piercer had good bedside manner and was very fast with the procedure. They were patient and assured that I could look at as many jewelry pieces as I wanted and they could redraw the mark as many times as needed. Came here on my birthday with a friend to get some ear piercings impulsively. I have gotten piercings here before, and my mom has gotten a few tattoos here so I already knew it was great. They moved locations to a bigger place it seems but it is pretty difficult to find. It's to the right of the Rite Aid in a hole in the wall but it opens up to a big place once inside. I was so nervous I felt sick haha I'm such a baby. My friend had to go first because I didn't know what I wanted. I had an idea but wasn't sure if it would work. My best friend & I wanted to get a tattoo together in which she found an artist through Instagram from Skin & Soul under the name "simwerks" / Brad Simmons. Trying to get an appointment established, I spoke w/ Brad & paid a deposit for both my friend & I so we can move forward w/ the booking. Where the experience took a downturn was when I tried to book an appointment. After giving my response & waiting for Brad's response throughout the week, I tried to follow up since I figured my last response wasn't very direct. Not hearing anything back over the weekend, I gave the shop a call Monday morning letting them know that I have been trying to set up an appointment w/ Brad hoping it would help get some type of response from him. The receptionist informed me that Brad will check my message later in the day. Fast forward to today, I still never heard anything back so I just called the shop letting them know that I want a refund on both of my deposits as I am no longer interested in getting a tattoo w/ Brad. It isn't fair for the establishment as a whole to get a negative review over the lack of communication, since everyone else I spoke to was helpful & was very understanding when I asked for a refund. However, a bad experience doesn't just attach itself to one person, it attaches itself to the entire business. Because as a customer, it is frustrating paying a deposit for 2 people, & not hearing anything back when you are just trying to have an appointment established. If the reason is because there are other people ahead of me & he wants to ensure people are booked in the time they inquire, that's understandable. But the response shouldn't be no response at all, you should at least acknowledge the customer & inform them. Especially if they already paid you a deposit. read more
