Don't bother coming here . They have coupon with no appointment necessary and decided to walk in. The owner or whoever it was give me an attitude and told me he have so many cars to work on. All I wanted to ask him how much he would charged to rewire my brake lights. He kept complaining about how many cars he gotta work on and tell me he doesn't know what I'm talking about my brake lights and doesn't know what's wrong with it. This is probably one of the most unprofessional shops I have ever come to discover. If I never needed auto work done, it wouldn't be from this place. The owner loves to park the cars all over the street preventing other cars from parking and GOD FORBID you go near his driveway...the man will come out screaming profanities and leave shitty little notes on your car because he isn't man enough to say something to your face. Over 40 years ago, My Parents were visiting and my car needed a new air conditioner or compressor as every place we took the car said. My father got out the yellow paged and found arrow auto electric. This was back when Val was located on Sepulveda. Dad and I drove my car up there and Val looked it over tested everything and he said you just have a slight leak and you don't need a new compressor or AC. Val fixed the leak and charged me $25. I have been having trouble with my ac over the last few years and no other shops seemed to fix it. Val and his team are super honest and figured out the problem very quickly. When they replaced a bad resistor it fixed the problem for the most part, but wasn't all the way fixed. When I came back they said the ac switch needed replaced and they fixed it free of charge! Took my car there because they were a perfered place for my extended warranty . dropped off my car at 7:30 am at 5 went back and was told the owner wasn't there so they couldn't look at it. No one called . went back the next day around 4 and got the same response . two days and no one even looked at my car. Sad service. I took my car to another place and they look at it right away. First time coming to this auto shop and was recommended from Quest Auto. I was in need of a mechanic shop to remove and replace my hybrid battery for my Prius. I had my Toyota towed from BVA in Santa Monica to Arrow Auto. My car was dropped off just after closing time. The next day I waited for more than an hour and half to be told they are unable to perform the job. I was very disappointed in how this situation was handled. I'm sure they are a great shop by the looks of reviews and number of stars they have. If you have a Prius that needs its hybrid battery replaced.... be sure to call first and confirm they are able to perform such task. In the end I had to tow my Prius to another mechanic shop to perform this remove and replace of the battery. Waste of time and money. read more

Had my car serviced here recently at the suggestion of friends and family who have been taking their cars to Val (the owner) for years. Since my car is a recent German made car with lots of computers and sensors in it, I was hesitant to take it to an independent mechanic fearing that they wouldn't have all of the electrical tools and software to correctly diagnose and fix my engine's issues. Well I was clearly WRONG... All parts were replaced, sensors reset and it runs like new again! Before taking it to a 'stealer-ship', at least get a quote from this guy. if you need to have a repair done, these guys will do it and at a normal price. however, i had a number of things done with my car and going to another mechanic later about other issues, things were pointed out about how the work at Arrow had been done. nothing fraudulent, but simply not comprehensive. packing tape left on a piece that was installed in the engine. things like that which you would hope would have been done better. if you need to get something done, my experience is that it will basically get done here. no ripoff or anything like that. however, if you expect a top notch job where all details are taken care of, this was not my experience. read more

It's hard to find a REALLY good auto electric and general repair shop -- one where you can depend on it to find and fix a problem correctly without guessing, where the prices are better than fair, and where the owner stands by his work -- but Arrow Auto Air & Electric is the best I have found in the central San Fernando Valley. I have been taking cars to him for several years (more than 10), and have never been disappointed. Better than that, I've always been positively pleased. Val is the owner, and he is not your average mechanic -- he is an electrical engineer by training, and it shows in his knowledge of auto systems and his careful approach to finding and diagnosing a problem. No guesswork here! (By the way, he is also so patient and low-key, I've never seen him act any other way.). He also has had a very stable crew of experienced mechanics working with him -- he doesn't hand off a job to some on-the-job apprentice and hope for the best! Don't let the words "Air & Electric" on the sign mislead you -- the shop does all kinds of other mechanical work on vehicles. Beyond the skill of the shop, Val's business practices are top notch and hard to find. First, because he is so good at diagnosing, he often can repair a problem without having to install a lot of new (and expensive) parts. Early on I had a hard-to-find electrical problem with a truck, and the dealer estimated the repair would be $1100+.. Val figured it out, repaired a couple bad connections in the fuse box, and charged me less than $284. Five years later, it's still running fine. This is the BEST place to have your air conditioner repaired. They are so honest and fair with their pricing. The most important thing is that they really know their stuff!!! I highly recommend them. We drove from Santa Clarita to this wonderful repair shop. We were having problems with our air conditioner not cooling especially when we were stopped at a red light. We took our car to the DEALERSHIP, they put in a new compressor and fan....this did not solve the problem....after a big bill. The dealership did not fix it!! So, a friend recommended Val at Arrow. He found the problem which had nothing to do with the compressor or fan. He fixed it for a very reasonable price and it has been working perfectly!! read more

After dropping off my car on August 3 2007, Arrow (818-780-8020) had made commitments that my air conditioning would be fixed: August 10, 2007 August 13, 2007 Realizing they did not meet their commitments, I literally gave them the deadline face to face on the 14th to complete the work by August 15 at 5pm. I did not receive a phone call telling me my car was ready as I told their employees in person. Please note, as I have told Arrow face to face, I was obligated to rent a car since August 3 2007 at $60+/day. So Arrow is turing out to be a very expensive shop since my car is still not ready, 13+ days after dropping it off. As of August 16, 2007 after $780+ in car rental and another $800 for one part with who knows how much in labor, since they have never quoted any amount of time or cost for labor since dropping it off; I have no idea how much this is all going to cost me. Please note, I have dropped by their garage 5+ times to find out what the heck was going on and everytime I got some lame excuse that it's a complicated problem but my car is STILL note ready. I am extremely dissappointed with their performance and have no choice but to take my car back in the state its in, NOT repaired. So, anyone who is interested in helping me out would be appreciated. Again, Arrow has given me no choice, I will drop by and take my car back, regardless if they fixed the problem. As of today the 16th 2007, they have not kept their commitments to complete the work as stated by this business. read more

I've been around a long time, and owned a lot of cars, and the hardest thing I've found to do is to find a good auto electrician. Auto Arrow is far beyond good! Val, the owner, is actually an electrical engineer, who worked on cars to get through college, then he stayed with them and opened his own shop. He knows electrical systems top to bottom and front to back, and carefully DIAGNOSES a problem instead of just guessing and changing parts, like so many other shops do. His shop does more than just electrical work, but I haven't needed those services yet. But Val is honest and competent, so my guess he does an equally good job with whatever work he performs.
