We had an incredibly wonderful experience at Arrowhead Acres. We were married at the Chapel in the Pines and had the reception at the Rustic Barn. Dave and Vicki were so helpful from start to finish. We had all the information we needed on the first visit, plus lots of recommendations for other vendors. (We used the caterer they recommended and they were also phenomenal!) They answered emails quickly, were accommodating & friendly, and made the planning process easy. The ceremony setting was charming and woodsy and magnificent. The Rustic Barn area was just what we wanted. Outdoors with a covered roof, next to a roaring campfire, near the animals like donkeys & goats & peacocks & a pig. We fit over a hundred people and a dance floor, and everyone had a blast. Lots of different places to mingle and things to do - there was even horseshoes & volleyball & other games. We had so much fun. (There is also an indoor area for events - we chose the outdoor option) This was also one of the less expensive places we had researched (I originally found it on a message board about *cheap places to get married in mass*) and feel so lucky we found it. We are from Wyoming, but my daughter got married in Massachussetts. AA was an excellent Wyoming feel (the Rustic Barn); it had corn hole and animals around for little kids, and the barn was clean and rustic. We loved it. Dave ( the boss/owner?) was great most of the way through, but when he left on vacation, he didn't process a payment ( I was paying early to help him out), and then got angry at me when I was trying to get in touch with someone else (who didn't know what was going on) to repay in the days before the wedding (when I was managing 1000 things). That is one example of the communication being not always the best, in other words, but Todd and Lori were very kind and they helped us out so much at the end of the reception with breakdown. Also, their policy of cleaning the barn the day of the event, such that we could not get in to decorate early, made things hard...and the hovering of the staff, and getting angry and people making mistakes about where the bar was, etc, was not great. Overall, a good experience...you just need to super-communicate and be ready to deal with some rather rustic people. read more

We were turning around as they looked closed and a white truck flew into the driveway and rudely asked what we were doing up here when we said we didn't know they were closed due to weather (usually Opened till 4) he told us the cops were coming and to "get our asses) out of there. Don't plan to get a tree here. I checked their website early in the season. Their calendar said they would be selling Christmas trees until Dec. 18, 2022. Just before going to pick up 2 trees on Dec. 16, 2022 I checked their website again. What!!! They had posted that they are closed for the season. I live nearby. They had a huge banner posted along Route 146 saying we have 35,000 trees. I last saw that banner about Dec. 11, 2022. They do not do tree tagging. You just go get your trees when you arrive. So, we have no trees this Christmas. Most other locations do tagging or are already sold out for the season. We used Arrowhead Acres for the last few years. Not anymore!!! read more

This venue is absolutely beautiful. The chapel in the pines were breathtaking and the banquet hall is a DIY dream. David (owner) was so easy going and very responsive to emails and answered any questions I had. David, his wife, & family have maintained the property so well. We had our ceremony at 6pm at the chapel in the pines, banquet hall from 7pm-11pm, and a campfire from 11pm-12am. What really got us with this venue was after the ceremony, we were getting ready for our grand entrance and our DJ came to me (the bride) and said a staff member went up to him and said they are 'hard stopping' the reception at 10pm. When I found out, I asked to speak to a staff member. That's when a staff member came in and was EXTREMELY rude to me. I told her this is a miscommunication because we are contracted from 7pm-11pm for the banquet hall and we have the contract. She very rudely said 'yup I have the contract too'. Then followed that with 'we are closing the banquet hall at 10pm, and you are doing the campfire from 10pm-11pm'. She also said 'you can pay us $500 for an extra hour' and that needs to be paid right away. This is not what we contracted. I told her to go review the contract. She stormed off and She never came back out. The other sister came out a little while later and apologized for the miscommunication. This got us all worked up 5 minutes before our grand entrance into the reception. No bride deserves to be treated in the way this staff member treated me. it was extremely unprofessional that she did not review or even have the contract in hand before she came to the bridal suite barking at me. It was honestly appalling that this would happen at a venue. Thank goodness that this was all happening behind the scenes, because she was extremely rude and argumentative. it would have been embarrassing for the staff member and us if any of our guests had to see that disorganization. Final thoughts: this venue was gorgeous and even though there were miscommunications, our night was perfect. Due to what happened with the staff member during our grand entrance.. I unfortunately cannot recommend for anyone to book this venue. The staff member was extremely rude to the bride for no reason, and completely out of line to get us all upset before our entrances. Our contract should have been reviewed and in hand. Also noted that when we reviewed our contract, it was $400 for an extra hour, not $500.. so not sure where the extra $100 came from. This whole situation would have been avoided if staff reviewed the contract before approaching the bride and groom. My daughter had her wedding here last night and it was wonderful! The owners couldn't have done anything more for us! We had the ceremony outside just as the sun was setting with the fall foliage in the back ground! I had my wedding here. When looking at the place the owner and his wife were very nice. Once we paid they turned into royal jerks. They wouldn't let our decorators dress up the place without badgering them and making up prices for decorating early in the day until my bride called the owner to complain. They do not allow you to touch any of their stuff which is fine but they write down all over the place "do not touch" and hover over you to make sure you don't. At one point my sister and her baby were walking in the door and told to go around the long way by the owner's wife. Mind you, it was 100 degrees out and she had a 7 month old. Before the ceremony, I, the groom was helping set up and was checking out the bar area for ice(no ice on the premises) and while leaving was told to "get out, you don't belong back there" by the owner and his wife. What did they think I was going to do? I was already leaving with nothing in my hand. I'm the freaking groom don't talk to me like that. The wedding went off without a hitch but you always felt like you were being watched by the owners scornful eye. Once over, he hurried you to clean up and get all the decorations out. One of our decorations included 100 pounds of sand. We had asked the owner if we could use the dolly to bring it to the woods where he plows to dump it. After some tense moments he finally agreed. The maintenance lady named Cindy however did not hear the owner or believe the brides father that we had the ok to dump it. Instead, she denied us the dolly and had us carry(100 degree heat remember) load after load of sand 500 yards into the far end of the property. This wedding cost over 2000 dollars to rent the property. After they got our money they turned into royal pricks. We had over 200 people for the ceremony and dressed the place up nicer than it was(its not that nice, the chapel with the pine trees is really the only decent thing there) and had photographers record the whole event. You would think this would be an opportunity for the owner to impress and build business. Instead he(Dave), his wife and staff Cindy were uptight and downright rude. I and the 200 plus people who were there(all from the area) will NEVER go to Arrowhead Acres again for any event including buying the Christmas trees they sell in the winter or recommend the place to anybody. I don't really understand all the negative reviews about Arrowhead Acres on here. I just had my wedding there on September 13, 2013. I was absolutely thrilled with the condition of the venue and the service received from Dave and Vicki!! We had our ceremony in the outdoor chapel in the pines. It was raining earlier that day and the benches were completely clean and dry in time for the ceremony. Dave and Vicki are very experienced and know what they are doing! We had no issues with decorating and the owners were very accommodating to our requests to change the way the venue looks (it is very nice and clean to begin with, but we were going for a more rustic theme). I have written several reviews but you have not published them. Like Derrick S says, the owners seem very nice at first. But after you pay, they start making additional demands. In the middle of the reception, they came up to the groom and demanded an additional $100...supposedly because they had let some people in early. Why had they let people in before the reception? Then they removed the food (buffet) after the first serving and did not allow the guests to go back for seconds. Finally, when the groom's family refused to pay the additional $100 - especially considering the owner was helping himself to the party's food - he called the police and totally disrupted the wedding. If he thought he had the right to an additional $100, he should have gone to small claims court. This place is a disaster. read more

I was going to have my wedding here. It was my favorite place so far and then i see it and I hate it. I don't think I hated a place more. The lady there talked about her life for 2 hours and we had other places to go. They were having a wedding next day but the place was still a mess with bird poop on the benches. It looked like a place kids go to camp. The owner seemed really nice but when I emailed him after he never emailed me back. This was the first venue that my husband and I visited and we quickly fell in love with The Chapel in the Pines. We were given a tour and a bunch of brochures by the helpful, lovely owners. After speaking with Dave and his wife, we were told that they would hold our date for 7 days while we decided which we thought was very nice of them. That night we went home and crunched some numbers and called to make a deposit over the phone. We thought the outside was beautiful and the inside could be made beautiful with some planning and creativity. We thought it was going to be cheaper to have our wedding here since it wasn't some fancy place and we could decide on many options to keep the costs down. Well we quickly learned that this was not the case. We actually both agreed that we wished we explored other venues before jumping in. It would have been much easier to find a place that included everything in the price. We had to do EVERYTHING. From coordinating vendors that met Arrowhead's standards, to set up and take down. Since we wanted alcohol at our wedding we were told that we had to go with thwir preferred vendor which was The Bartending Service of New England. The craziness started happening about 2 months before the wedding. I could not tell you how many emails I got from Dave about the catering requirements. I worked with our caterer to fill our specific paperwork, some of which had to be sent to the Uxbridge Board of Health and others which were sent to the Venue. Dave told me he had to have specific paperwork, which I gave him and then he turned around saying I did not give him the right stuff. After numerous emails, he said we were all set. 10 days before the wedding, while I'm away from home for military training, he emails me around 10pm and asks for the paperwork since we're past our deadline. Being away from home with limited access to the internet, I had to dig through old emails to forward him the original email from weeks ago. "Sorry I must have misplaced it" he says. Talk about giving the bride a heart attack! We all arrived for the rehearsal before the owners. Dave took over, we had to make a few decisions for details before we even started the rehearsal. I sensed attitude from him as soon as we all got there. Before we left, he told us to pass the word along that any outside alcohol will be cause to cancel the wedding and kick us out. This was the first time I heard this. This meant that since the girls were getting ready in the TINY room they call the "bridal suite", that my bridesmaids and I could not have mimosas while getting ready. We were assured the girls and I would be let in at 9am to set up the next day and we were on our way. 9am rolled around, the girls and I couldn't get in. Finally got in and their staff was cleaning while we were trying to set up. I am a vaper and one of the guys saw me with it and very rudely told me to get outside with it. The bridal suite was in fact way too small to get ready so makeup had to be done in the hallway. Guests started to arrive and numerous people were saying the parking attendants were very rude. We also had an issue because the parking attendants were not letting ANYONE in the building before the ceremony. This was not something we decided on! They tried to keep out our families who were in the wedding party! Guests started to arrive about an hour before the ceremony and dispite being set up, the bar would not serve drinks until after the ceremony. Again, noy something we knew about or decided on. Dave was very huffy and full of attitude for the short time I saw him. After the ceremony all the staff disappeared with the exception of 1 female worker. We had one of our handicapped guests use the railing in the restroom only to FALL because the rail ripped off the wall because the wall was rotted out!! The female worker was so rude and fought the groom about it. The ceremony and reception was beautiful and we received many compliments on how we spruced the place up. People just didn't see all the headache that came with it. If I had a do-over, I would absolutely have my wedding somewhere else! read more

My issue is with the Christmas tree farm. If you have any sort of physical disability, you are not welcome there. We had great memories of taking our kids there to tag and cut trees several years ago. This is our last year in this home and we thought it would be great to get the tree there and let the children enjoy it when they come home for the holidays. That didn't happen. I have issues with my back and walk rather oddly. We initially went there to find an already fresh cut tree, but they didn't have them. Understandable. I saw carts driving all over the farm, and the 7-8 ft trees were a distance away. My idea was that a cart could drop us off and pick us up after we chose a tree, since they put it in the cart anyway. Well, the man with the clipboard outside the building said " the only way to get there is to walk there". How compassionate. We found a beautiful tree elsewhere. read more

On 10-05-19 two of my best friends got married at Arrowhead Acres - both the bridal party and the guests could not have been more impressed with the grounds, the banquet hall, the owners, and everything in between. Dave and his wife were beyond kind to us and did everything in their power to make sure the big night went as smooth as possible. They helped us with everything even down to directing our bus driver where to park so the bridal party could get out and inside without being seen by the guests (he even held his hand out for some of us ladies in heels to grab onto so we could get off the bus safely). If you respect the venue and the rules set in place by Dave and his wife to ensure the safety of their staff and their guests you will have absolutely no problems here (they were not unreasonable either - same rules that would apply to any hotel wedding or any other venue of that nature). The amount of time, effort, and love they put into their work is truly something special. I would recommend Arrowhead Acres to anyone looking for a gorgeous location for an upcoming event. read more

My husband and I had our wedding at Arrowhead. It was the perfect venue for us! Vicki and Dave were easy to work with. We live in Nebraska, and we were able to do most of the planning and scheduling over the phone. They were prompt with answering and returning phone calls. They were extremely accommodating when it came to scheduling times to visit. My parents saw the venue on short notice (as a let's double check this place), and I was also able to see it on a few hours notice when I was visiting for a weekend before my wedding. We love the simplicity and the genuine nature feel of the chapel in the pines. They cleaned up the chapel perfectly before our ceremony. I could not have asked for a better set up. They even provided chairs for those who have difficulty with benches. The sound system was great. We were able to provide our own music and Dave practiced with us when to change songs. Very accommodating. We also enjoyed the bridge for pictures, and the closeness of everything! They were also fantastic about letting us into the venue early to do set up (as there was not a wedding right before ours). We personally loved the decorations inside arrowhead, and they arranged all tables for us. They also helped us through the rehearsal process and eased our anxieties about our big day! We also enjoyed that we could have our dream outdoor ceremony with a rain option just in case. It was one of the places that the simplicity made the venue elegant and classy. It has been so fun to see how the pictures have come out! It photographs so well! Since we are outdoors people, we and our guests loved having the options of using the campfire, volleyball, badminton, and horseshoes once the formalities of the reception were over! The bridal room was also nice. I found that Dave and Vicki were present but not overbearing--- I could find them if needed, but they took a back stand to myself, my husband, and the guests. We thought that was so important. There are only four reasons why this venue does not get 5 stars but three of them we knew ahead of time and can't really fault them: 1. The bathroom stalls were a little tiny, which some guests found difficult. 2. Just because of the location, we had to figure a way to bring in water and ice since their water system not good for drinking water. We understood that when booking though, and we made it work! 3. We had a campfire. One of my uncles did not realize the fire was to be monitored at all times, and he started it. Dave made a comment to him. It was not a big deal, and we had a longer fire (will a fee). However, it would have been nice to have a sign there and to approach the guest a little nicer. 4. We LOVED that the badminton had lights and people played till late in the night- would have been nice if the horseshoe pits had them too. Overall, Arrowhead Acres was an amazing amazing place to have our wedding! They were extremely easy to work with. They cared about helping us have our dream day. The venue was beautiful, and they were helpful throughout the process in answering questions. I would recommend this place to anyone who would like an outdoor venue. Please please please!!! Consider what you are reading before even visiting this venue. Because it is beautiful and you will fall in love if an outdoor wedding is your dream. I will say it was irresponsible of me to sign a contract without reading it... HOWEVER the owner David told me if I didn't sign and return within 10 days all of my information was going in the shredder and this was AFTER I gave him a $1600 deposit. I didn't receive my contract and feeling the pressure of the 10 day rule I contacted him.. and he said it was mailed. It showed up in my mailbox on the 10th day so my fiancé and I signed and got it back to him. It was very irresponsible of me to assume my contract was accurate and the contract does state no refunds after the paperwork is signed. The day of my tour, I asked David what the rules were and he stated VERBATIM "1. No confetti 2. No open flame - per fire Marshall order 3. Nothing that will damage the property" and I was THRILLED because I believed I found the hidden gem of wedding venues. Upon more carefully ready my contract I found some issues. For starters I wanted my food done by a close family friend who does not have a catering license. I explicitly asked David about this as it would've been a deal breaker for me. He said it was fine. My contract however says, the caterer must be licensed and food safe certified. Something else never mentioned when I asked the rules, no outside alcohol is permitted on the grounds (meaning I can't put wine bottles on the tables for a simple toast, I can't have mimosas with my bridal party, and my fiancé can't have a beer with his groomsmen as they're setting up all morning) IF YOU GET CAUGHT WITH ANY OUTSIDE ALCOHOL YOUR WEDDING WILL BE SHUT DOWN (pretty extreme reciprocation in my opinion considering the pay day they make off weddings) and finally, my service was to begin at 4pm I anticipated being done and taking photos by 420pm. So while I'm getting pictures taken my guest will be stuck OUTSIDE without access to the reception hall where beverages and restrooms are until 5pm. Pretty ridiculous considering I paid for the whole day beginning at 9am and ending at 1am the following day. In hopes that David would make things right, I emailed him and expressed my disappointment and frustration. I told him I was misinformed and would like I refund. We are currently 13 months from my wedding date he would have plenty of time to fill the slot. He responded with things like "have your lawyer contact me, and I will get him in touch with our lawyer" and finally today I got "I will take your emails as confirmation that you are not having your wedding here I will not require the remaining balance" .... as if that was some kind of consolation? I NEVER officially told him to cancel my wedding. HE made that choice for me. They will preach to you that it is a family business, and laid back. It is ALL LIES. They offered me nothing. There customer service skills are repulsive considering the money they make. Honestly I would still get married there even though I am unhappy because I'm not independently wealthy and at this point can't afford another venue. But now I have nothing because they chose to terminate the contract and refuse me a refund. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE HORRIBLE LYING CON-ARTISTS WHO TOOK MY MONEY AND RAN. read more

We booked last August for a December 2020 wedding. Originally when we sat and talked with them they said we could have it at 3pm, because we were thinking of having a reception elsewhere due to budget concerns. We gave them a deposit, and when the contract came it stated 6pm. I emailed/called and was told there was no way we could have it at 3pm that conversation didn't happen. I was blown away. We went back and forth. The whole reason we booked there was to take pictures in the trees, 6pm is dark in December. Also it doesn't give us enough time to go to another location and they said our deposit wasn't refundable. So what other choice did we have? We booked the hall. Gave them a total of $800 (ceremony site is $600). Our family felt terrible and stepped in to help out. Well then Covid happened. We called all our venders all happily gave us our money back, but them. Again they refused. So we said what if we did a ceremony only and get our $200 back at least. Nope. Covid is an act of God. Our immediate family alone (big families) is over 50 people. We can't have a wedding there. We have called and no answer. We just want our money back. It's not right, it's upsetting. We took a big hit financially this year as I myself am a photographer and gave all my clients their money back even though my contracts say "non refundable deposit" because it's the decent and right thing to do. We filled a 93a claim. So hopefully that helps. Their trees sell minimum $65 what 9 trees would be our deposit. It's shameful, greedy, and deplorable. read more

It made us so happy to know that all of our guests loved the chapel in the pines and the banquet hall. All of our guests were incredibly impressed with how organized and attentive Dave and Vicky were and how much they cared for all of the weddings that are held on the property. Also, Dave was extremely attentive in answering all my emails, which honestly were a lot, being a bride, I wanted to make sure my day was perfect and I felt that Dave listened to all of my requests and made all of them happen smoothly. It filled our hearts with joy to see some of our guests thanking Dave and Vicky for organizing such a beautiful wedding and inquiring them on events they would like to have of their own. Up until the week of our wedding, I would have given them at least 4 stars. However, the staff at this venue leaves much to be desired. After putting up decorations that were not there when we booked the venue (fake flower crap) and refusing to take them down, my mom rightfully so, complained that this was not what we agreed on. While I think she was a little forceful about it, it is true that they never told us they were adding this and they were quite rude about the whole matter. Then, to top things off the owner Dave threatened to cancel our wedding 24 hours before they big day because my mom had forgotten to give him the check at the rehearsal (which she had, but no one reminded her to give)...a simple mistake really, but we rushed to Arrowhead to pay the jerk to make sure we could still get married. Oh, and Mabel...I don't care how you have done things in the past, I am the bride, and I will do the ceremony my way, not yours. The reason I will even give this place 3 stars given the horrible customer service and ridiculous idiocy of the owner, is because our wedding did in the end turn out beautiful.
