The issue began when I left the doctor and was attended to by Nora H, a staff member. After showing me the glasses they carried she explained that I could buy the frames from another location but had to bring them back so they could install the lenses. She said that the insurance required them to send the glasses to a specific lab in order to install the lenses. Therefore I did not need my prescription. After speaking with my wife, who has been wearing glasses most of her life, she found the interaction unbelievable. Eventually I returned and forcefully asked for my prescription. Although my experience with the doctor was great the deceitful practices employed by the staff is enough reason me never to return.

They seem sad to see customers and do not greet with a smile or at all as if they don't need customers to keep the business running. They do not say hello or acknowledge customers walking in. They put them on hold in person and only acknowledge them to hear what the customer is there for after they are done being busy with their computer work. When I went to pick up my glasses I was handed my glasses as if they hadn't done any work on them at all. No protective case, no business card, nothing. The only way I knew my glasses were different was because the lenses no longer had the ray ban logo on them. I didn't buy frames from them because I was happy with my Ray bans that were still in good condition but they did nothing to make me want to buy frames from them or even return for my next prescription. My Ray bans were unprotected, and exactly the same way I left them. They did not spruce them up by wiping them off or anything. I will find a new optometrist next time.

Over the course of a few months Dr. Leena was able to completely transform my mom's life. She listened patiently to all of our concerns and did everything she could to help. My mom is now doing great and has not experienced any issues with her eyes since. After attending my mom's appointments I decided to seek care from Dr. Leena for my own problems which included extreme dry eyes and irritation that was greatly impacting my quality of life. I was constantly exhausted as a current college student who spends +10 hours a day staring at a screen. Dr. Leena heard my concerns and offered a solution that would help with my dry eyes (ask about the plugs!!!!) Dr. Leena was able to get me affordable care and service. I realize now that my eyes were affecting every area of my life. I now have glasses that I desperately needed and for the first time in over a year I feel energized and well rested. I highly recommend Dr. Leena as she is caring, extremely knowledgeable, and offers affordable care and solutions. She also has an amazing staff that is always quick to greet you and get you through your appointments with ease. Instead of showing concern or even speaking with me briefly, the office refused to engage until my insurance card was provided. In that moment, it no longer felt like a relationship with a healthcare provider. It felt like a retail transaction--as if the first priority was whether I could pay, not whether I was okay. This was especially disappointing considering I did have insurance and was fully able to pay out of pocket if needed. The lack of compassion and basic care in a moment of fear was a huge letdown. I never went back after that incident, and I moved my entire family's care elsewhere. Once healthcare starts feeling transactional instead of human, it's time to leave.
