They definitely were. Everyone was so kind and caring. They comforted me when I was crying (it was my first surgery and experience with general anesthesia) and kept me calm and relaxed. I am in the process of getting braces and was referred by my ortho to Dr. Johnson. So thankful I did come here to have my extra teeth removed that had formed in my gums but have not emerged. I needed these extra teeth taken out so that I did not have any complications with my teeth shifting after my braces. Bottom line is the procedure was scheduled and it was such an easy one. No pain and just took like 15 minutes. The healing is coming along just great and with minimal pain. So glad I did not feel a thing. The gals there are also very friendly and professional. I can't say enough about Dr. Johnson. In addition to him being a great guy who seems to remember you, your interests, and that of all the family members and friends I have sent his way, he has an incredible bedside manner that puts you right at ease. I've had 3 procedures in the last 8 years and he never pumped me with antibiotics which all the other docs I've gone to seem to do. Antibiotics weaken your immune system and I am happy he looks at your TOTAL wellness. Everything he said would happen, happened, and I had minimal pain...never needing to take any of the prescription painkillers! The staff is awesome too. read more

So I am super anxious about dental work. And I mean, totally anxiety ridden, heart palpitations type of dreading dental work. But today I had a wisdom tooth taken out, under local (not completely out) and Dr. Johnson was AWESOME. He is super friendly, listens to you and is really accommodating. While my tooth was being pulled, he kept asking if I was okay, how my anxiety was, if I was still good and numb, etc. etc. He accepts my insurance so it was cheap, cheap CHEAP! I'm going to have them price my two other extractions with bone grafts and implants because honestly, the entire experience was positive. Oh, and for my ONE tooth, that did NOT hurt at all and took five minutes, he will put you out completely if you want it-- because that whole office understands that getting teeth pulled is a harrowing experience. Unless Dr. Johnson is the one doing it, then it's A-OK. Not kidding. read more

I was recommended to this place by my orthodontist, after he viewed my X-ray of my teeth. I had an extra tooth that was forming next to an already adult tooth and was informed if it wasn't removed it could possibly damage the already present tooth. Obviously didn't want that happening, so I scheduled an appointment for a consultation. Dr. Johnson viewed the X-ray and I set up an date for the operation. I have had extra teeth removed before when I was younger, and they were all painful during the healing process. However, after the operation with Dr. Johnson I only took two Advils plus the antibiotics that he prescribed. The stitches were clean and minimal, which helped during the healing process. Before the surgery took place, they scheduled a follow-up appointment a week out. My stitches were supposed to dissolve away after a week, but they choose not to, so I had a couple of them removed. Over all, great place to get oral surgery. Dr. Johnson and his staff go above and beyond than other places I have been to. read more

The staff at North Valley Oral Surgery was extremely pleasant to work with. Especially Leslie who I spoken to on multiple occasions over the phone and each and every time she was very patient with me and answered all of my questions. She worked with the staff at my General Dentist office and together with Dr. Johnson they came up with the best treatment plan for me and my budget. I am very pleased with their level of customer service. The office itself is clean and professional. I felt comfortable in Dr. Johnson's care. He took the time to speak with me about my procedure during my consultation and had an overall great personality. I recently went in to have my wisdom teeth pulled and a implant placed during the same procedure. I was a bit nervous and Dr. Johnson as well as his assistant could see that. They both made me feel at ease with their words of kindness and compassion for me as a patient. Dr. Johnson was having a conversation with me as he was putting the IV in my arm and all I remember was waking up to his assistant telling me "all done!" The office took great care of me during the recovery stage before letting me go home, they were informative and made sure all of my questions were answered before I went home. Dr. Johnson is a true professional and truly cares for his patients. My wife and I have 3 daughters and there's no one else in town we would consider taking them or ourselves to. Two of our daughters each had 7 teeth pulled at one time just recently as 2 weeks ago. We trust Dr. Johnson to sedate our children without hesitation. We drive 45 minutes just because of how he cares for his patients. Dr. Johnson personally calls his patients the night of each visit to make sure there are no issues. We took my daughter to Dr. Johnson to have her wisdom teeth removed a few months ago. We had a great experience and I recommend him to all our friends. He's not super close to where we live and there are plenty of other options closer by, but they choose him anyway. The procedure was explained well so we knew what to expect. When I had concerns on how she was healing, they got us in right away to make sure there were no issues - of which there were none. Just a typical mom not wanting her baby to be uncomfortable! I also opted to take my younger son to him as well to have teeth removed to prepare him for braces instead of the orthodontist or dentist. The staff was compassionate and took great care of her. I know oral surgery and dentistry can cause a lot of anxiety for a lot of individuals. They understand and will help ease your apprehension. I'm sorry you have to see an oral surgeon to begin with - but since you do - I absolutely trust him and his staff. read more

HORRIBLE STAFF, ok Dr. I went to get my wisdom teeth pulled and upon the 1st initial visit, I was told I would have an insurance quote when I leave the office. I didn't because the staff was "too busy" to get me the appropriate information to schedule my surgery. I told them I need to know the EXACT amount I'll owe(and had my father there with me on day of surgery to confirm I asked again that the total they gave me was what I would owe) before I could schedule any surgery because money as tight. They called a couple days later with an amount. So, upon believing they were speaking the truth, I scheduled the surgery. As I stated, I confirmed with the staff and was charged what I was told the day of the surgery. There were complications, and I had to return multiple times after, and none of those times I was told they decided to charge me another $50(on top of what they already charged me as an EXACT amount down to the cent). Then I get a bill for another $50! I called the billing department and the lady I spoke with was quite rude. She said she didn't feel it was right to charge me the extra $50 but it didn't matter and I had to pay. I explained that I specifically asked for the exact amount and she said even if they told me an amount they can bill for more after. How is that decent business ettiquite? I told her I am helping pay for another family member's medical bills to which she didn't care and said I can either pay or they can send me to collections. You would think a Dr who makes $100k a year + would be able to waive an extra $50(conviently exactly $50, no change or anything. Seems odd to ask for exactly another $50...) since his staff chose to provide his patients with wrong information. I wanted to write this to let people know that, unless you got a bunch of money to spend on extra $ they want AFTER they tell you a price and want to go through complications, DO NOT GO HERE. Horrible empathy for patients, even when THEY make the mistake, and they don't correct their own problems(and are rude while talking to you), I expierenced complications from the surgery and apparently they will keep asking for more $ after they tell you what it costs... read more
